Unholy Serpentine Nightmare Athame - (Melee Weapon +22)
Creator: Unknown
Last Known Owner: Khitt
Description:

A one-handed athame of iron that never seems to rust, this athame is curved like a snake’s body throughout, from its curved blade to the notched hilt that ends with a diamond-shaped serpent’s head. Blood red gemstones of unknown type make up the eyes of the snake, emitting an unsettling aura towards those who sense such things. The serpent’s mouth is slightly ajar, revealing an engraved spider emblem on the roof of its fanged mouth. Despite it having no visible poisonous properties, the athame possesses a unique ability to force its target into unconsciousness should it be capable of sleeping. Resisting the sleep-inducing aspect of the Unholy Serpentine Nightmare Athame is a difficult task, though not entirely impossible; however, resisting it does not protect one completely. Once asleep, the victim will be forced into a nightmare of their own mind’s creation, or the unprotected wilds of the Plane of Dreams where dangerous creatures roam. It also has the downside of being ineffective on those in possession of the Nightmare-Warding Iron Crown, though no other limitations have been uncovered as of yet.

History:

This dagger-like object was inexplicably found at the center of an abandoned giant spider’s web in the Dark Forest, just outside of the Black Spire that serves as the Necromancer's Guild headquarters. Upon deliberation of how to treat this object, it was deemed low-risk enough to serve as the grand prize to the Vailkrin tournament being held.

Additional Information:

Though Lita initially won the dagger, when she won the Vailkrin Blood Bowl, at some point afterward, her and Khitt switched rewards, because she wanted the crown more (because she's a #queen).
