Talk:Dragon Council (or so they'd tell you)

From HollowWiki

If you want to edit this page about the council, or feel it is incorrect in any way, feel free to contact Sharliark on Hollow and we can discuss changes you want made.

I wrote it (with the help of Cyllth) in a way that they are more or less a sewing circle who think they are far more important than they actually are. This was done to stop contradictions to past role plays, and also to stop the creation of some new form of government to an entire race, which was not at all my intention. As it states, vast majority of dragons may not even know or care that this council exists. Which is fine by me if your character doesn't want anything to do with it.

Given that the last big 'authority figure' for dragons (Cefren, the king of them, yadda yadda) was effectively... knocked into submission- It would make sense if they had gotten a bit more support over time, potentially accrued strays from his lot. Can't think of anything else offhandedly. --Kasyr 19:42, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

I had thought, Kasyr, that perhaps as Sharliark's RP separated immediately from theirs, and depending on how other PC dragons react, I could enhance/change/add to it, and as time goes on they can become a more respected thing. For now, though, I think it's fitting, and dependant on how this role play pans out can decide their fate. As stated, I do not want to create any sort of authority for an entire race, considering I've been playing this dragon for all of a week now. Thank you for your input. --Sharliark

I don't play a dragon, never have, and have no plans to; as such, I have no skin in the game with this issue. What I see is the apparent problem some people have with this, is that there have been at least two independent RPs prior to this that used the specific name "Dragon Council", and thus, there is bound to be confusion, discontinuity, and the like assumed by those who took part in, or were aware of those RPs. Perhaps, if this group of 4 haughty NPC Dragon curmudgeons was called the "Saurian Council of Elders", or any other random name besides the "Dragon Council", it may stem some of the confusion and resistance having to do with this RP. Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Which RPs were those, Tiph? The concept I had come up with that the 4 were just a subset of the Council working on their own. They aren't the whole Council. But I wasn't aware of any RPs that had used them, so I can definitely tweak to make this more compatible with those as necessary.

The most recent of them I believe was Kristos, the other was some time ago and I don't recall the person's name, only that they were organizing a "Dragon Council" in Xalious to represent the interests of the Dragon race (the RP didn't go far). Also, the RP that Cefren had, (if I remember correctly) involved him somewhat usurping/casting down/taking over the "Dragon Council" in Xalious when he declared himself the leader of the Dragons. I wasn't saying any other RPs had used -your- council members, just the name "Dragon Council".

No worries. Cefren and Kristos are both dead and/or gone, so we can say that if they replaced this Dragon Council, that it reformed in their absence, or just kept quiet or followed along while the player was active. The dragon who tried to form a Dragon Council could have just been ignorant of the older Dragon Council, since they are apparently rather secretive. That way if any of these players return or someone attempts to revive the RPs, we can still mesh them together pretty easily.

Specifically, I believe Kristos is dead, whilst Cefren went off to sleep. Either way- Reformation could make a fair bit of sense, since Cefrens' bit was more of 'usurping/casting down/taking over'. But yeah, you guys do whatevs, really. I'm looking forward to this stuff xD

K, so is this useful or not? My gut says no and I am trying to purge the wiki of erroneous information to avoid confusion. Can I purge this? --Josleen (talk) 01:04, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
