Rubies from the Craughmoyle mines have been polished and sculpted to resemble rose petals in this arrangement. Each petal has been wrapped in crisscrossing gold wires which disappear into the woven branches of the crown. Obscuring the point where gold meets wood are preserved golden rosettes. Hidden hollow thorns beneath the regal arrangement serve as good capsules to pre-load projectiles, be it smoke, poison or otherwise. As the explanation behind the chosen gems and flowers were told: In old Larketian books, roses are the most famous of the many flowers delivered between nobles to convey wordless messages. Naturally, roses are the flowers given between those who shared an intense connection, be it romantic, platonic, or otherwise. These golden roses are called Jacklin’s Blossoms, from Larket. From the creator's understanding, this variety was bred specifically for her birthday one year, and kept cultivated in the gardens ever since. Rubies are also associated with love, but they are also said to bestow courage in casting, especially when one’s heart is sure.
