Races, gods and things

  • Upon entering the realm, your race becomes that of one of the existing races in the realm.
    • This basically means things such as:
      • If you're a high priest and command the powers of the gods in another realm, you lose those powers here as those gods have no power in this realm.
      • If you're a vampire who can't walk in daylight, you now can here.
    • There are obviously other implications to this, however, it basically means your race is subject to the weaknesses and strengths outlined on the race page.

Time Travel

  • Time travel is only possible through magic. There is no technological version of a time machine anywhere in Hollows past of future.
    • The implication of this is that due to there being no magic in Hollows future, it is impossible for people from the future (past the industrial age) to travel into Hollows past.
    • Further implications linked to there being no magic in the future mean that if a person with time travel abilities were to go too far into the future, they would not be able to return.
    • The Timeline is set, thus, you can not go into the past and make changes which alter the present. Everything in the present is an inevitable result of any changes you could potentially make in the past.

Technology

  • Hollow has no digital technology to speak of. This is due to the existence of magic. People rely heavily on magic, and as such have had no reason to advance technologically.
  • Hollow does not exist on a similar timeline as the real world, it is a separate univere with its own evolutionary path. As such, just because a certain technology existed long ago in the real world, does not mean it exists in Hollow. The easiest way to think of it may be to imagine such alternate worlds as those which exist in LoTR or Game of Thrones.
  • Clockwork items, and other such complex creations, do not work of thier own accord, and must be both crafted and powered by a Flectomancer. Only small items of this nature may exist and will only operate within proximity of the Flectomancer who created them.
  • Due to the existance of Magic, any technology that doesn't originate from the realm of Hollow is neutralised on entering the realm. That is, it ceases to function entirely.

Space Travel

  • Hollow is the most advanced civilisation in its universe, and seeing as how Hollow does not have space travel ability, none of the other planets have it either. Portals are acceptable, however, remember that if you are going anywhere other than Hollow, you are going to a less advanced civilisation.

Planes of Existence

  • Hollows universe has several planes of existence.
  • You occupy the lowest plane -- the Mortal Plane.
  • The next plane of existence is occupied by the lesser gods. This is the only plane to allow full interference with the Mortal Plane.
  • The highest planes of existence are occupied by Sven and the other Higher Gods.
  • All these planes have their own rules regarding behaviors and powers, however, explicit admin approval is required to advance a plane of existence.
  • Praemia and Perdere are separate planes. These can not be advanced into and are used as holding zones by the lesser gods for those they deem worthy or unworthy. If a character dies, and doesn't make it into Praemia or Perdere, then it's 'soul' ceases to exist and can not be brought back.
