Backstory
Away from the world of civilized society, and formal education, Elga grew up within Venturil. The lands most regard as destroyed, for it is but a husk of what has been. Raised as a warrior, she chose to follow the God Aramoth and trained hard like all of her kin.
Though Elga has achieved no glory worthy to spin any tale of her deeds as of yet, there is perhaps something that does mar her past. For one day in her recent history, the battle maiden unknowingly called upon magic - it was nothing more than an accident, which consumed her sparring partner with green flame. Those who choose to follow Aramoth disdain magic and her sudden ability with it spread rumors.
Elga, for her part, was scorned by both friends and family. She was outcast, though never asked to leave and those that were considered important to her, broke off contact.
Forsaken by those she once deemed worthy enough to stand by their side, Elga went on a pilgrimage to learn more about this flare-up of magic. Her efforts bore fruit when she learned of its origin; dark fire. An element of the shadow plane, a place counter to this realm. The Venturilite spell blade began to study with what she could find. And soon, found that she began to follow a second God; Vakmatharas. In her mind, Aramoth and Vakmatharas must go hand in hand, for war and battle brings death.
Over time, her control has grown while her connection with shadow has as well. Beyond just dark fire, she has learned what most entry-level necromancers do. To use shadow itself and commune with the lingering spirits of the dead.
Satisfied with her studies, Elga has journeyed home once more - this time to make a name for herself.
