The Outcast Militia

What:

A militia of soldiers trained in various styles of combat to act as generals, who reign over their own regiment of troops, that are for hire in wars and battles according the deals made with leaders of the commanding armies. The militia is compromised of one regiment for each general, and within the regiment are one thousand spearmen, one thousand archers, and five hundred mounted knights. A regiment is made up of at least three thousand men, and the rest are not soldiers; they are cooks and herders, craftsmen and smiths, and altogether the working folk that make traveling and seiges within an army possible. Each regiment is subject to modification by it's leading general. Seige equipment is shared between regiments and have their own battalion of engineers to accompany, which is three hundred able craftsmen and workers for it.

Due to it's early stages, there is only one regiment of soldiers available, and one battalion of seige engineers as well. More men are being trained and recruited from outside of Hollow's eastern border, across the sea, but it will be some time before more will arrive.

Who:

There are only a handful of mercenaries currently acting as generals within the militia, for their membership has become extremely selective, which is likely due to the lack of morality often necessary to undertake fighting entire wars for coin or other benefits. Of which are listed as follows.

Parsithius -A golden-haired, blue-eyed man whose defining features include full platemail, an enormous halberd, and a silvery-hued scar that wraps around his neck like a noose. He bears a determination to attain order, but doesn't care the means to acheive it.

Shishi -A scarf-wearing, eccentric vampire most commonly called "Blue". It is reported that when he gets angry, his eyes turn red. Boasts command of the shadows... Or the shadows commanding him, it's not entirely clear.

Nasada -A revenant of old, this creature is more commonly referred to as a demon. Whether or not that is true, is uncertain, but even the troops of the militia themselves hold this creature in both awe and fear.

Caedan -An even more eccentric young psychic woman, who is probably more volatile than not in terms of her moods. She is reported to be able to tell positions of troops and give the upper hand to the militia. Does not like jars.

Kelovath -A golden-armored paladin who is often found healing people. It is rumored that he is one of Parsithius' best friends, and is quite extraordinary in not only his faith, but his prowess.

Where:

Their current headquarters is rumored to be in the Nameless Desert, having been reported that several troops bearing the likeness of this militia entering and leaving that side of the road that leads into it. Whether it is in the abandoned palace, or the oasis, is uncertain. It is also gossiped that the militia is undertaking the action of hiring dwarven architects and craftsmen, and is speculated whether they are constructing a castle.

How:

Joining is by invitation only.

When:

It was started, initially, by the Outcast Knight after a self-exile from Larket. Throwing aside his usual motive for government position and servitude, the man had taken up his earlier mantle of briganding days, and transformed the militia into something far better. It is still in the works, however, so this is by no means complete or final.

Why:

They love fighting wars, and nothing is better than being compensated for something one enjoys doing.
