RP:Larket Town Meeting

From HollowWiki
Council Meeting Room

Tucked back behind the new commons area remains this subdued area of meeting and strategic planning. The boardroom itself has changed little in terms of objects and appearance, though there is a feeling of increased importance within the room as various soldiers mill in and out in a steady flow. Scout briefings take place virtually every hour of the day without fail, interrupted by the occasional update of crucial information. Once voluntarily yielded by Larket's sympathy to the old rebellion against the immortals, this room centers the actions of the entire Larket military outfit, and of greater campaigns when necessary. Notes made by the commander himself are scribbled all over the map draped atop the elongated table, obviously for positioning purposes. Chairs sit strewn about the room with little rhyme or reason, the fast-paced meetings usually leaving troops little time or room to be seated. Unless you're one of those who need to be here at present, perhaps you'd best wriggle your way back to the commons area.

Queen Jacklin of Larket is here.

King Parsithius of Larket is here.

Sir Arlan is here.

Lady Roelstra is here.

Lady Leigh is here.

Sir Svilfon is here.

Roelstra pokes her head around the threshold, clapping eyes upon the three figures present. Helm tucked under one arm, the vampiress makes her way next to the King and the new Emissary.

Parsithius enters from the eastern double-doors that open at the behest of Larketian guards; Jacklin's hand is securely in his betwixt king and queen and the former walks bereft of armor, but clad in regal clothes that the people have come to a liking of. With crown nestled around his golden-haired head, the man takes careful steps inside with a methodical cadence, and the light in his eyes shows his pride at having Lady Larket on the crook of his arm; glances from the knight are stolen toward her. As he approaches the table, he finally releases her hand to rest his palms on the table. "Welcome."

Jacklin made her entry at the side of her husband; fingers twisted in his hold, and kept an equal pace with the golden haired fixture of Larket. Fitted in an indigo gown and diadem of Larket nested in chestnut and gray hair…the jeweled piece of Larket history seemed a bit off balance as she moved. Even so the Queen looked as she should for such an event. As Parsithius slows to a halt near the rounded council table she drops hands to her side and glances at each individual within the room as the King greeted the cities valued personnel.

Arlan stares at the two, nodding. Having never met them before (or any royalty, for that matter), he is a bit caught off guard. He scratches his warmask and rests his hammer by his side - assuming the meeting was quite serious, he kept his face as neutral as possible. The rustle and clink of his armor as he crosses his arms is very loud - he patiently waits for the meeting to pick up.

Leigh bows her head respectfully to the monarchs of Larket, standing quietly on the opposite side of the council table. Her eyes then lift to rest upon the two as she awaits their words patiently.

Roelstra notices the royal pair making their entry, keenly aware of her lack of finery as her gaze drifts to the other two standing nearby. Emerald greens meet those of the King and Queen, each afforded a nod of respect and greeting.

Svilfon wanders into the room chatting to a scout. The scout is clapped on the back as he goes to make his report, before the wizard turns to those who're gathered and offers them a tip of his hat. He seems quite at ease the room, his normal jovial smile offered to everyone. Though he doesn't speak, he waits to be spoken to.

Parsithius 's gaze moves toward the large, war-masked man, and nods his head in recognition from the description that Kelovath had given him; "Arlan." Then, toward Roelstra, and finally Leigh, repeating each of their names in turn for the others to recognize each other; mostly for Arlan's sake. When Svilfon enters, the golden-haired king lifts a hand in a gesture toward the wizard, and offers a brief, rare smile, "I'd like you all to meet Svilfon. I've asked him to join us as the personal advisor of your King and Queen." Awaiting ample time for response, the man lowers his hand thereafter, letting it rest against the tabletop. A deep breath is taken, such a sharp inhale, before he exhales with slow explanation, "I've brought you here today to discuss not only the events unfolding in our city of Kregus, but also things here in Larket that will fall under each of your jurisdictions."

Arlan nods, thankful that at least he knew everyones name now instead of having to resort to pointing and yammering in the vain hopes of getting their attention. He brings his warhammer forward and leans on it, intent on listening.

Roelstra nods a greeting to Svilfon, having seen the man around before. Quiet greetings are also given to Arlan and Lady Leigh. Gloved hands rest the woman's weight against the table top, patiently waiting for the meeting to begin.

Svilfon smiles a warm greeting to the king, nods to the others present, grins at the queen, before dropping into a chair. He rests his staff across his knees and seems to relax, though his eyes remain observant and it's clear he is listening closely to what is said.

Jacklin continued browsing the faces with quiet words once meeting the eye of each, "Good evening Lady Leigh, Lady Roelstra." The Queen bent easily at the waist toward the two women without the slightest displeasure of bowing to those working for Larket. If they would nod…Jacklin would bow. Cobalt regard too fled to Arlan as Parsithius spoke the name. He was certainly hard to miss in the room and she knew the giant was someone she had to meet with later. If only to sate her curiosity for where he'd come from. Finally she noted the smiling Wizard with a tilting of her head. She wondered if Luthentius knew the man as well. Glancing to Parsithius and finding no return, the Queen cleared her throat as softly as possible and stood quietly at her King's side. Now and again attention slipped to Arlan and Svilfon before rushing back to the words of Parsithius.

Leigh 's eyes follow the King's name call from face to face, familiarizing herself with those she shall, from that point on, consider tolerable allies. The huntress' attention is then drawn away to Svilfon as Parsithius introduces him as personal advisor to the crown and nods in his direction. Once her greeting is delivered, she promptly gives the ruling pair her full attention once more.

Svilfon nods to Parsithius is agreement, though his gaze remains on the others in the room. For just a moment it seems he will speak, before, with an almost imperceptible shake of his head, he remains silent.

Arlan nods, wondering exactly what the King meant by restoring the memory of Kelovath - he was unaware that there was anything wrong in the first place. At last, he'd been given a chance to prove himself.

Jacklin remained silent as her King handed out the orders for each individual currently standing and sitting around the table. As each name was called, Jacklin looked to the person and gave a nod and smile of gratitude. There wasn't much left for the Queen to say and a small smile was her best option at the time.

Roelstra 's well groomed eyebrows had raised slightly in surprise of Jacklin's gesture. It had been the first time the Queen had given her a slight bow, a friendly smile warming her pale visage. Parsithius' words draw her attention, gently pointed ears perking in his direction. " I shall see to it right away, " she replied with quiet yet clear contralto tones.

Leigh takes note of each given task for future reference in case she should need to offer her help to her fellows once her own job is completed. None interests her more than the one handed to Roelstra, however, and she wonders briefly, if she did not prefer the vampiress' duty over her own. Shaking the passion for hunting from her head for now, the woman bows to Jacklin as she catches the queen's eye falling momentarily upon her. Waiting her turn to speak, Leigh offers yet another bow to the king as she responds to the orders she has received. "Very well, m'lord. Lady Cerinii is an old acquaintance. I shall find working with her again to be a pleasant experience, I am sure."

Parsithius catches Svilfon's slight movement, but does not acknowledge it; nor does he acknowledge the brief wandering of Leigh's eyes toward Roelstra in the most subtle envy of her duty. He notices the Queen's lament of seemingly not having a part in decisions, but knows also that all of these jobs and duties were masterminded by Lady Larket herself. A smile is given to her, and then toward the others, "Now the floor is open to discussion. Is there any questions of me? Of one another?" Parsithius gestures to Jacklin, "Of your Queen?"

Arlan brings his hand back down to rest on the pommel of the warhammer, before frowning and looking puzzled, saying "You tell me to restore memory of Master Kelovath...I not aware that any memory need to be restored in first place." He raises his hand in a placating gesture, adding "But, if story take too long to take, Arlan understand...I just curious."

Svilfon offered Jacklin the ghost of a smile in return, before his attention once more shifts to Arlan.

Jacklin listens to the words of Arlan carefully and nods in the proper places as his question of Lord Kelovath ends. With a soft sigh the Queen replies with carefully chosen words, "I can see how you may find that a bit odd. I'd heard Kelovath had taken another under his wing, so to speak. Arlan, is it?" Slicking back the hair from her forehead she continues with the shorter version, "Kelovath is the Parson of Larket. He -was- the Parson, at least. By some strange twist the paladin returned to Hollow without any of his memory. None of us know what happened, but all we want is for Kelovath to return to Larket as the Parson. That is where you may be of help….helping him remember he once had a role here. Maybe a giant is the key to unlocking that memory."

Roelstra takes a moment to think on whether or not she has any questions at present for the King and Queen. This lets Arlan speak his piece first, for she was also curious about the man in question. When a question does come to mind, one gloved hand is raised, waiting her turn.

Leigh stows the small slip of paper with names and tasks scribbled neatly upon it in the satchel slung across her shoulder. Her arms then fold loosely over her chest as she allows her ears to fill with the words being exchanged between royals and subjects.

Arlan smiles at something he once said to Kelovath, nodding at the Queen. "Giant may be just the thing...no one ever expect a giant." He nods sagely once more, before continuing with "Arlan will try hardest to make Master Kelovath remember." He rests again, waiting to be called upon.

Svilfon disguises a small laugh at Arlan's words with a poorly feigned cough. He tips his hat again to the giant, though still he remains quiet.

Jacklin turns an eye to Svilfon and the small slip of laughter before the giant is gifted a low, cordial nod at his assurance of a giants work, "I've a feeling that a giant may be just what Kelovath needs to restore his memory." To Roelstra she nodded, "Have something for us, Lady Roelstra?"

Roelstra crosses one leg over the other, shifting her petite frame in her chosen seat. " I do, my Queen." Normally, she would not address Jacklin in such a way and was still trying to adjust to her new role in this city-state. " As the King had pointed out to me, there are terrible beasts and lycan packs that roam the forest to the north. These I have already encountered and they do raise a bit of concern for me and any Rangers I am able to recruit." She clears her throat before continuing to her point, " But in the event I see a potential need for traps or large scale weapons tailored to subduing any of these particular threats, to whom would I speak? I want to be sure my Rangers can keep the people safe from their posts in the north."

Svilfon gives Roelstra an approving look as she speaks her practical fears for her rangers and the citizens. He makes a note to speak to the woman later as he looks back to the royal pair.

Parsithius listens to both Arlan and Roelstra's concerns, before Jacklin answers Arlan; he thereafter nods in affirmation. To answer Roelstra, he speaks, "Lady Leigh could see what designs Lady Cerinii could come up with for practical traps to use, I believe. If forging is required, our Prime Smith, Kain, would be happy to oblige."

Roelstra looks over to the Emissary of Larket, nodding as well. The vampiress was also familiar with Lady Cerinii, but was not sure until now if the avian had any affiliations with Larket. Kain was a name she was familiar with, but she doesn't believe they had been formally introduced. " Very well, I shall keep that in mind.", she replies, satisfied with Parsithius' answer.

Leigh perks a bit upon her name being brought up in answer to Roelstra's question and simply dips her head in a nod to show her willingness to do as the King suggested should the need arise.

Parsithius say : Is there anything futher?

Arlan shakes his head before resuming his old position.

Roelstra shakes her dark-locked head, indicating she has no further inquiries at this time.

Jacklin waits to see if another hand would be lifted or tongue would release a question before she slipped a hand through the arm of Parsithius. The Queen was tuckered out from the day’s events and hoped the King felt an equal amount of tiredness. Though she didn’t tug at him, she did address those gathered for a final time, “I’d like to thank each of you for coming. If any aid can be provided while each of you work…never hesitate to contact me. As for the two new faces,” her she looked to Svilfon and Arlan, “I’m certain I’ll see you both soon enough.”

Svilfon stands up and finally indulges his loquacious nature, "A quick word, king." He offers Pars a small smile before speaking to everyone in the room, "Not everyone is happy about the conquest of the goblins. I would offer the warning to be vigilant. People are eager to learn what is going on. Be wary not to indulge those who are eager only for gossip. That's all I would add." He grins a crooked smile, showing a few gaps in his teeth, before returning to his seat.

Arlan nods gently, glad to have finally met both the king and queen in person. Though he wishes it had been in less formal circumstances.

Svilfon tips his hat to Jacklin. "You will, I am sure."

Leigh bows one final time to the King and Queen, this one a much deeper gesture with her arm crossed diagonally across her chest. She says nothing, keeping her preferred silence rather than parting her lips even to bid the pair a farewell. Assuming that she is now free to leave, the Emissary turns on her heel and makes for the exit. She would need to arrange a meeting with Cerinii as soon as possible and actually enjoyed the thought of getting in touch with her old acquaintance.

Parsithius listens intently on what Svilfon speaks of, and nods in respect to his words, "A wise addition." When Jacklin spoke of farewells, Parsithius is relieved; he is tired! "That is all I wish to speak of. Thank you all for your presence here." And now, he ascends, his hand seeking Jacklin's.

Svilfon nods a final time as the meeting ends before whispering a few quiet words. A few tendrils of smoke whisper around his seated form, before the wizard vanishes from sight; torn back to temporary home in Xalious.

Roelstra speaks up to the King and Queen, " Thank you for speaking with us." She rises from her seat, looking over her shoulder towards the common area as if looking for someone. Shades of disappointment darken her emerald eyes when she does not find whom she seeks. With a gentle sigh, the Head of Rangers bends down to retrieve her helm and bow as if heading out for the evening.

Jacklin gives a gusty sigh and grabs Parsithius' hand. This was exhausting work and it was lined on both of their faces. Watching the Larket members file out of the hall she looked drowsily to Parsithius and led them both to the chambers for a deserved night of rest.
