Cryothain, the mother of all frost dragons in the northern Xalious range, is a sight to behold. Running over two hundred feet from blunt snout to whip-like tail, she is a massive, jagged-scaled creature capable of destructive force through movement alone, even without turning deadly claws and teeth on her target. Along with those natural weapons, Cryothain's breath is akin to a blizzard concentrated into a cone spray, threatening to freeze even the hardiest of adventurers. She does possess the higher intellect of many dragons, but living in a frozen, violent world has left her little need for more than brute strength and basic mental capacity.

While in a Aramoth-divined state Frostmaw's Champion, Gunnar, confronted Cryothain. The two did not trade blows, but instead engaged in a battle of wills with gazes locked, until the dragon finally submitted to the war-god's chosen. Gunnar has since presented Cryothain to Satoshi as a gift for her crowning as Frostmaw's queen. Dragon and Eidolon treat each other with a wary respect, at best, and Cryothain is most often found watching over a brood of frost saurian hatchlings when not fiercely guarding the northern city's skies--her territory, as she jealously views it.
