Confined to the heather-lined moors of Enchantment, these incorporeal beings are said to be the vengeful spirits of the first inhabitants of the moors who were never properly laid to rest. The frequency of their sightings ebbs and flows with the rise and fall of Valaane's shape in the sky, with it being said to be suicide to enter the moors on the night of Valaane's peak. The faces of heather spectres are featureless and their bodies are jagged and malformed, but the translucent robes that they wore in life adorning their visage are said to be the same color as the flowers of the moor. Those rare survivors who have seen a heather specter and lived to tell the tale claim that the creature will raise two elongated fingers to its face when preparing to attack. Clouds of fog will then billow from the spectre's fingertips, which will destroy any fleshy tissue it comes into contact with. When a body is found in the moor, it is often stripped of skin and muscle, and adorned with a withered flower crown of heather.
