Mage Tower

Blut entered the training room as per requested by Brenwyn. He wore simple cloth armour the basic outfit of the mages guild. He smiled as he looked at his opponent holding his training staff to the side. It didn't do anything other than help him channel his magic. Blut walked forward and spoke "Hello there lets have a good match and may the best mage win." Blut cheered as he extended his hand for a shake. He knew little of Pilars abilities beyond what she showed him at the beach and he didn't show all of his. If she were to look into his eyes he would be able to cast illusions powerful enough to compare him to a master of the school. In this instance Blut would shoot forth a huge fireball feeling just as real as a non illusionary fireball of that size. If not Blut would send forth a rather pathetic fireball from his staff in the hopes that she would lower her guard.

Pilar hadn't expected a duel to be part of her advancement, but here they were. “Yes. Let's,” was all she said as she took his hand and backed up. She'd made eye contact, only for a brief moment, but that moment was enough. She gasped as the fireball came hurtling towards her and ran to the side. With her vampiric speed, it passed her by harmlessly, though she'd felt its heat. She kept her eyes locked on Blut as she faded from view. She circled around him, her footsteps silent. Once his back was to her, she sent forth a bolt of lightning, not enough to kill, not nearly enough for that, but enough to stun. Not waiting to see if it hit its mark, she broke into a run, still circling, and fired off more bolts of lightning. She remained invisible, and illusory lightning screamed at Blut from the opposite side, in hopes that it would mask her position.

Blut slammed his staff into the ground before leaping into the air. When Blut slamed his staff the bottom froze keeping it upright as the lightning struck it grounding it harmlessly into the floor. But what Pilar would see was the lightning strikeing Blut his screams echoed through the room as he colapsed into the ground clearly stunned and defensless. In reality Blut simply walked to the end of the room as he watched the room His eyes darted left and right keeping the room in his view waiting for a spell to be cast. Even if the woman was invisible her spells were not. Blut clasped his hands as the room started to heat up slowly but surely to the point that to Pilar objects would start to melt. Combustable would set alight one after another. If he could not tell where the illusionist was he would just have to attack indiscriminantly. Flames would start to gather at the center of the room and expand outward till the whole room was consumed. Droplets would start falling from the celling makeing it seem like the whole tower was melting. The obeserves would appear to be shielded from the flames to add realism to his illusions.

Pilar stopped and started to take a step towards the body, but stopped. The observers hadn't moved, and flames were moving towards her. The fight was still on. She decided to counter fire with ice, and held up her hands, the air cooling further and further. The flames seemed unaffected, and Pilar still felt hot, and that's when it hit her. Illusions. She scanned the room, searching for a sign of life, and there she saw it. Blut's breath. She made a beeline for that spot, frost beginning to form along the floor and walls. Unlike Blut's flames, the ice was very real. Pilar appeared suddenly a few feet from Blut, to his right... and his left... and before him. But which was the real Pilar? The one behind him, still invisible. They all bum-rushed him, while the invisible Pilar aimed to grab him by the back of his neck and sent a few volts into his body to paralyze him.

Blut ducked down haveing used that technique many times before. Blut smashed his right hand into the ground closeing his eyes createing a very large flash of light as well as a loud sound. Unlike his previous illusions this one could be seen and heard by everyone in the room but useing his illusions Blut enhanced Pilars perception of the flash of light and sound makeing it seem so much more powerful than it was. Even in it's weakened state the sound caused Blut's ears to ring unable to hear anything else and the light was still increadibly bright one could only wonder the pain how the victim of the enhanced version would be in. Blut dashed leaped and rolled forward as his left hand started to tremble and shake violently as air started to whirling around his arm and fist. Blut mentally chanted the incantation for the basic aeromancy spell gust but never finishing it to release it. He had the spell building up and in his arm with pain dwelling up in it tearing muscles and the cloth around his arm. Blut grabbed his staff as he pointed it at the vampire casting a fire spell. A large fan of flame came out the staff before speaking the full incantatation of the wind spell as the magic was released in full mimicing the power of a much higher teir spell fueling the flames to increase their size and ferocity. The flames turned Blue as their heat increased as it shot forward in a large wave of flame.

Pilar yelped as Blut set off his flashbang. She stumbled backwards into the wall, ears ringing, eyes screwed shut. She rubbed her eyes, opened them, closed them again, unable to bear any light at all. She felt the heat building, felt a wave of panic. Vampires were extremely flammable, after all. She opened her eyes in a squint; everything was bright, so bright. There was something even brighter heading for her, and it was hot, and oh gods that was a vortex of fire. It was far to her right and to her left, she couldn't dodge it by running. So, in what might have seemed a counter intuitive move, she ran towards the flames. At the last possible second (so last second her clothes were singed), she slid underneath the fan of fire. She kicked at Blut's legs before getting to her feet and, regardless of if he was on the ground or not, putting her hands before her and letting loose her most powerful frost spell. She poured all of her magic into it, ice forming on her fingertips, on the floor and, hopefully, on Blut.

Blut 's eyes widdened as the vampire sweeped him avoiding his spell. The spell disipated as he saw Pilars hands power with magic. Blut had no time to formulate a plan no time to counter with a full incantation. Blut gambled this duel with his last card. He held his staff ahead of him as mana started to cover the staff the mana took the shape of a sword the frost collided with the blade instantly freezeing it. However the spell was still increadably experimental it's very likely that the spell would shatter soon but Blut had no choice to rely on it as he poured all his mana into this spell blade of his.

Pilar wins.

Pilar's magic was just strong enough to break through Blut's magic sword. It shattered, sending him back a good few feet. The observers then announced the end of the match, and Pilar dispelled her magic to approach Blut. “A-Are you alright?” She knelt by him and looked at the arm Blut had injured with his own spell. She pulled a vial from her pouch and pressed it into his hand. “Drink this, it should help you heal.”
