Veil of Illusionary Penetration - (Face item)
Creator: Sanlig (Tiphareth)
Last Known Owner: Jinfeng
Description:

This sheer black veil, spun from finest spider silk the Underdark has to offer, clings about the face like a half mask upon the bearers visage. The arcane forces impregnated into this enchanted veil enable the vision of any who look through the gossamer artifact to filter out illusionary visions, revealing things as they truly are. The implement has no effect upon things which are physically obscured, simple disguises, or objects which have been magically altered in a physical way. Illusions still remain vaguely visible as a shimmering incorporeal shadow hanging amidst the air; the stronger the illusionary magics the darker these shadows appear. Illusionary magic of sufficient power may be revealed as illusionary due to it's shimmering appearance, though could potentially be dense enough that the illusion still obscured that which lay beneath. The full potential of this veil's capability has yet to be tested, though it is it would require an illusionist of equal or greater capability than the creator to overpower the item's ensorcellment completely.

History:

The item was commissioned by Tiphareth and created by secret pact with the illusionist Sanlig through his illusionary cohort, the Shadow Gnome Oog. The nature of Sanlig's deception ensured that even Tiphareth did not know the true origin of the implement, as Oog's illusionary complexion was never discerned within their encounters. It seems to have been left behind in Tiphareth's absence and has since found it's way to a new owner.
