I consulted with Hildegarde, and it turns out that the Fishing Rod provides the same level of mob protection as the Cloak of Lesser Protection. According to her, mob protection doesn't stack, making the Cloak an unnecessary purchase unless you plan to stat with a weapon other than the Fishing Rod. -- Loire
