About the Weapon

The rapier is a long, thin sword. The blade can be thirty-nine inches or longer in length, sharpened and fashioned to a razor tip while the hilt is often decorated with a guard that protects the user's hand. Though the edges can be sharpened, the rapier is primarily a thrusting weapon, ideal for stabbing with a precision not offered by many other swords. The rapier is a common dueling weapon, and is popular among every day citizens for self-defense and formal duels.
