The House Of Frozen Souls

Joan had made the trip through the portal to wind up at the new frozen HQ for the guild, on her back was strapped the scythe that Raevyn had left her before the woman departed for her travel to other lands. Adjusting the strap that crossed her vested chest the vampiric healer made her way through the mansion towards the kitchen, she felt a bit peckish and needed a hot mug of her fresh blood-spiked hot cocoa before she began, so she searched for Khitti. Joan was pretty sure the guild leader would be able to tell Joan just what she might have been gifted. Her booted pace was steady as she took sips here and there of her drink while she searched for the other woman through the many rooms. The vampiric healer made mental note of the all the many different rooms she peeked into as she searched, a light hum coming from the undead woman as she moved about the mansion, nodding a greeting to those that took time to greet the amethyst haired Thanadule.

Khitti was up in her room on the third floor, unfortunately for Joan. In all of her searching, someone would be kind enough to let her know before she had the whole place searched. Khitti, on the other hand, had decided to take her meal there, rather than in the dining room. She was looking over some books on the topic of her homeland, Dhavislaav, seeing if there were anything that might direct her towards just what the hell this mysterious compass, she’d gotten months ago was pointing to. So far, there was nothing. She picked away at her roasted mammoth, fingerling potatoes, and carrots, all of which was smothered in butter, salt, and pepper, and this delicious type of brown sauce that was often used on steaks or other cuts of meat. It really brought the whole thing together. Her door would be left partially ajar, allowing for those that needed to speak to her during her food break to do so.

Joan was directed to the third floor and thanked the person before making her way up to the floor, as she traveled down the long hallway Joan did peek in here and there on the doors that were open scoping out the bedrooms. These seemed just as nice and fancy as the ones at the Black Spire, as she made her way to the one doorway that would be Khitti's Joan made up her mind to also try to claim a room here at a later date. As the undead woman came to a pause at the partly open door, she would lightly rap her knuckles against the outside of the door before lightly poking her head in and asking politely, "Hello are you in Miss Khitti and have a few moments. I have something with me I have questions about." The scythe was not covered up, just bare in all its glory to be seen hung across Joan's back since it was such a large and bulky object.

The redhead had just been shoving another bite into her face as Joan showed up, to which Khitti choked a little, but managed to swallow her food. She cleared her throat and squeaked out a ‘yes’, wiped her face with a cloth napkin, and turned around in her seat. “What’s up?” Olive-green eyes first fixed on Joan’s face, but almost immediately went to the scythe. There’s a glimmer of recognition playing on her features as she eyed it, crimson brows furrowed somewhat. “Wait… I know that weapon.” She set her napkin on the table and stood up, booted feet bringing her closer to both the scythe and obviously Joan as well. When she finally stopped, still a few feet from the vampire, she held out a hand, using it to draw whatever power might still sit within the weapon. Black lightning crackled around the blade but didn’t harm Joan, even going so far as to snap outward in an obsidian streak and touch Khitti’s fingertips. “Oh yes. I know it well."

Joan would offer a curious but not too concerned look over her vested shoulder as that black lightning crackled around the blade of the scythe, one amethyst brow arched upwards as she gave her guild leader a curious look while she moved to unsling it from around her back, setting the butt of it against the floor. It was rather imposing, and Joan held it awkwardly, one could tell she just was not used to something like it. "Oh good, because I was rather clueless about it. See before Raevynn left, she gifted me a few items and this was one of them. I don't know anything about it and honestly, I'm rather uncomfortable with weapons of any sort outside of my books and tomes. What can you tell me about it, I was also wondering if you or the guild would be interested in requiring it." She offered in a kind and polite tone.

“Well, Miss Raevyn managed to sneak her way in after a battle in Chartsend and snatched this up before anyone else could,” Khitti said, moving her arm away finally. “I killed the creature from the Shadow Plane that wielded this. A massive specter, a general of a battalion that I also helped take out. I always wondered where she’d hidden the damn thing. Alas, polearms and staves and the like are not my forte. But I am interested in taking it for the guild’s vault. Perhaps someone in the future can make use of it.” She crossed her arms over her chest and squinted her eyes a little in thought. “What do you want for it?”

Joan was a tab bit awkward as she fumbled with unslinging the massive scythe, as she pulled it before her and held it out towards her guild mistress, she would offer a rolling shrug of her vested shoulders. "That sounds like a fine fair plan, I'm sure Raevyn would like the weapon to stay with us and be put to use when the proper time came forth." Looking over the weapon the vampiric healer lightly rolls her head from side to side as she tries to figure what would be fair to ask for, "Hmm...I do like gold, maybe say...twelve thousand five hundred gold. Or...something of equal value that you might be willing to part with?" She had made almost the same offer with Quintessa over the accursed blade.

Khitti took the overly large scythe from Joan, eyeing it with an almost evil smirk. The smirk soon disappeared though as she turned her attention back to the vampire and the task at hand. “It’ll have to be gold then. Anything I have, I’m not willing to part with.” She was rather protective of her belongings, after having gone for years in her youth without anything at all. Despite her dislike for most dragons, she sorta acted like one nowadays. She went and set the scythe on her bed for now, then made her way to where she kept her bank notes. “Take this to the bank in Cenril,” she said as she pulled out one of the papers, gave a flick of her wrist to summon her shadow ink pen, then set to filling it out and signing it. “That’s where my account is, so they’ll get you what you need as I don’t keep large sums of gold on me.” When she handed it over, it was clearly marked for the twelve thousand five hundred gold, as well as signed and dated.

Joan clasped her icy cold hands together once the scythe was taken from her, rubbing them together to bring a tiny bit of heat to them. The weapon did have an overly dark evil feel to it when she did hold it and the vampiric healer just was not totally comfortable with that. Watching her guild mistress take it and lay it on her bed Joan would offer a small smile once she walks over to take the drafted bank note. "Alrighty, no issue. Thank you for taking this off my hands, I will make the trek out towards the bank later today. You have a good rest of your day then." If there was no other business to attend to Joan would offer a slight polite nod of her head before leaving Khitti's room to go about her own affairs.

Khitti offered a faint smile in return to Joan. “Sounds good. Take care and good luck in your studies,” she said with a wave, letting the vampire head off to take care of whatever else she needed. Once Joan was gone, Khitti walked back over to the scythe on her bed and eyed it carefully. The redhead let out a ‘hm’, then shook her head and returned to her seat to finish her meal.
