Summary: Brennia gets the answer to that important question and the company sets off to Kelay for their search of Livi.

Mountains of Frostmaw – Near the Hidden Mountaintop Coliseum

Mesdoram’s heart skips several beats during Brennia’s proposal of marriage as he stares in amazement; what an absolute astonishing moment for the couple. Flashbacks of Brennia’s explanations play inside Mesdoram’s mind of what exactly marriage is, what her giving Mesdoram her black feather symbolizes, the words of Professor DewFoot-Barrows ring in his air about him wedding Brennia: the collimation of these events intersecting together in this moment. The spontaneous way Bre poses the questions signifies everything she has spoken is truth… from moments ago explaining to Hawkeye how his death will impact him, not knowing what she would do without him, and how she always protects him with her wings… she speaks directly from her heart and soul and sees no doubt in her eyes.

He has no idea how he got into that cage the first time they met nor how he was able to freeze an entire beach into a frozen tundra; nor does he understand how such a lovely angel has fallen deeply for this broken man… he will be thinking these thoughts until his dying breath. What an absolute angel Brennia is, and soon… she will officially be his angel. Seeing her wings flutter in anticipation, Mesdoram decides not to tease her and be very direct to Brennia. “Of course I will marry you my angel.” The thoughts of his pending death do not even enter his mind – he could care less about that thought and his play: Marrying Brennia is all that fills his mind.

Smiling from ear to ear, he doesn’t not wait any longer: from his higher vantage point, Mesdoram pulls Brennia in much more passionately than her forehead kiss and places a scorching intense kiss onto her lips; fireworks begin shooting in Mesdoram’s mind, not leaving inch of Brennia’s lips untouched. His fingers interlock with hers for a few moments before releasing to enthusiastically hold her head as he softly guides their heads sideways for multiple angles – seems a more primal sensation has seduced his tiny body. Their kiss slows down heated passion and transforms into a more sweet and loving rhythm with him lightly placing his hand upon her cheek as he holds his whole world in his hands. Releasing his lips from hers, Mesdoram presses his forehead upon hers… imprinting this amazing memory into her mind.

Brushing her hair aside, Mesdoram speaks to Brennia in the language of the drow. “Foldraevals l'inberdin nindel xhandal skrel udossa pholor l'heen ulu l'alurl klez nindel rin'ov kyarrin ulu udossa.” If she has studied up on the drow’s dialogue, Brennia would understand the heartfelt message roughly transcribe to “Sometimes the obstacles that challenge you put us directly to the best thing that ever happens to us.” If she did not understand his loving message, he would gladly translate upon her request. “Shall we start the celebrations?" Mesdoram normally has a stoic poker face, but even a blind man could see this man shining with delight.

Brennia feels a sudden rush of joy, excitement and relief fill her soul for the first time in ages when he accepts her proposal. She doesn't care if it is typically the man that asks, but she has explained what keeping her feather meant a couple of times and he seems hell bent on keeping it. The avian is even unsure how the dream world allowed one of her feathers to manifest for him on the mortal plane. That is the odd thing about the fates, they are unpredictable and defy all odds. One thing Brennia knows is that she wants to make sure he knows he is loved before he gets up on that stage in a week. The infectious smile on her face shines brightly and pokes dimples in her cheeks, but it is soon wiped off by Mesdoram's sudden movements.

Instantly, she feels warmer all over by the sudden burst of passion being adorned on her by Sapphire, leaving her breathless as her eyes flutter to a close. Her arms wrap around his shoulders while one of her hands gets lost in his hair during their liplock and a delicate sensation rolls through her body. Those black as night wings twitch ever so slightly and bend in a peculiar manner. Her heart is so loud as it thunders away in her chest as she continues to match his desire, his passion in their primal way. When their kissing slows and eventually breaks, she is left trying to catch her breath. Thankfully they are resting their foreheads against the other because if she were to even try and meet his gaze, she fears she would be far too dazed.

Brennia finally opens her eyes when he speaks in a language she has never heard before, but it has a strange allure with its rough edges fitting in all of the cracks in her soul. She swoons a little when it is translated for her because she is certain that one has ever crowned her as 'the best thing that has ever happened to them'. He truly makes her feel like an angel, or even a goddess at times and she hopes there will be a time she can make him just as special. We wings do a little mini flutter as she nods in agreement and says, "but… As long as you promise to use this device tonight." She holds the hand of his that is gripping the little box, "to find Livi so we may set out to find her tomorrow." She doesn't want to go back to Alithrya without an answer.

It is at this time, the two naga guards have ventured inside with the food from the fire to set up the kitchen table for the four of them. One of them finds an old plywood type board in the shed to use as a temporary door, this way they can keep the chill air out while they all take a rest from their travels for the night. The company have minimal conversation before Brennia announces their engagement and the naga brothers congratulate them, but only because they know Regi will be pleased to have a wedding to plan and keep herself distracted.

Mesdoram accepts Brennia’s terms and will most certainly use the box to locate Livi. “Of course, my angel. I will use this device right after dinner and before bed.” He gives her a reassuring smile and a nod fully understanding the assignment; at this moment her two guards, Dhrada and Aiset, have finished preparations for dinner and repaired Mesdoram’s poor carpentry decisions. Joining in on the merriment, the couple is showered with congratulations from the brother nagas; the positive reception from them puts smiles on both of Mesdoram’s and Brennia’s faces. Mesdoram raises a toast in appreciation for Dhrada and Aiset, proudly exclaiming how impressed he has been with the two and how he will sing their praises to Queen Reginae when they get back to Alithrya. “We are one step closer, my brethren. Tonight, we rest – and tomorrow, the search continues. I will find her tonight using Hawkeye’s device; this will make our journey less impossible. Drink up and eat hearty my friends.” With that said, Mesdoram excuses himself from the plywood dinner table, gives both Dhrada and Aiset hard pats on both shoulders of the soldiers, and a much more loving shoulder embrace followed by a forehead kiss for Brennia. With his goodbyes delivered, Mesdoram takes hold of Hawkeye’s ceramic cube into the bedroom where he plans to sleep, leaving his new fiancée to continue the celebrations until she is ready for sleep.

About an hour later

Mesdoram is successful in his search for Livi; ‘Kelay Sage Forest’ is where they would go. Some time ago, Mesdoram had an intense standoff with the lycan Meri: a woman of very few words, but whose fists and arrows do most of her talking. During this battle, Meri fought Mesdoram back into the Underdark entrance under a red herring ploy; the blonde warrior was under the impression Mesdoram wrote a dire message on the Kelay Way’s Tavern in elven blood to taunt the blonde… Little did Meri know, she fell right into the menace ploy that is Nariv. Mesdoram and Meri practically leveled twenty acres worth of trees during the epic battle where an unsuspecting Livi had made her way to – Hawkeye spent much of his time in Kelay during his early life, so his scent lingers still in the trees and the greenery. After Hawkeye’s disappearance from Frostmaw, a younger Livi had to travel through the snow searching through Xalious, Cenril, Milious Plains before finally settling in the Northern Sage forest when Hawkeye’s smell was strong – for fifteen years she still waited for Hawkeye’s return… Then a drow and lycan came to destroy her home. Afterwhich, Livi perches on a log where she is certain Hawkeye brushed up against several times during his time in Kelay.

As Mesdoram replays his bout with Meri, a very out of place adult snow leopard is seen running away from the two psycho battle combatants as the duel picks up with ferocity – unless another snow leopard made the independent decision to leave its native habitat of frozen tundra to the humid conditions of Sage… this was Hawkeye’s Livi. Feeling quite content with his discovery, an exhausted Mesdoram wipes some tiredness out of his face… he has one last task to accomplish before his time runs out. Hearing that Brennia and the guards are still celebrating and enjoying each other’s company, Mesdoram adjusts the device to visual recording mode and places the device roughly ten feet away from him onto the floor. Making his way back towards the edge of the bed, Mesdoram plops his butt onto the hardwood floor and sees the glass prism emitting a royal purple ray of light over him and the background behind him. Indicating to him the device is in recording mode, Mesdoram gets some final words for Brennia should he meet his end. “Uh.. hey Brennia…” He starts and records his last thoughts for his angel to remember him by should he die…

Feeling his stumbling, but heartfelt message has been conveyed properly, Mesdoram stands back up to turn off the device – the elven cube producing no more light. Standing in his spot for a moment, Mesdoram makes his way to the edge of the bed and sits… seemingly lost in his own thoughts: emotions ranging from relief, peace, and belief.

Brennia shares with them the color scheme she can imagine for their wedding day after Mesdoram retires to one of the rooms, "I, of course, adore gold and white together, but how striking would it look with a little navy blue mixed in?" The pair simply look at one another because that sense of style is lost on them, so they just shrug and agree. After another moment of Brennia describing entrees, cutlery and fine china Aiset politely interrupted.

"Forgive me for asking, Brennia, but we wouldn't be accurately doing our jobs of keeping you safe if we didn't ask…" a tense pause hangs in the air between the three of them when the naga brothers share a collective glance. "Is he somehow forcing you to do this?" Immediately they regret asking when the avian looks offended and she becomes quiet, but then Aiset attempts to elaborate, "I am sorry Brennia. I do not mean to offend, but by conventional standards - outside of Alithrya, I believe you are considered a beautiful tall woman. Next to such a short drow man who looked quite homeless when he appeared in Alithrya, you two make an odd pair. I think marrying so soon would be a mista-"

"Brother. Shut up," Dhrada says while placing a hand on the other man's shoulder because he was just digging the both of them into a deep hole big enough for both of their graves and he really doesn't want to part with his innards. They both stare across the table at Brennia who has no expression on her face as she listens and watches them. For the first time the brothers fear what the avian might do to them just now. Brennia is just allowing for some silence to ensure Mesdoram didn't just hear that and it sickens her stomach to think he might have. Could you imagine the humiliation one might feel if you overheard someone saying to your significant other 'you could do better.' Carefully, she stands from her seat and gently pushes it in. The woman isn't lashing out or becoming defensive and somehow this graceful silence is even worse as the brothers hang there in wait for a scolding.

"I do not have to justify my heart and you deserve no explanation," her voice is grounded and confident. In reality they do not have the privileged information that Mesdoram's life might come to and end soon. She is certain no one other than Nadia knows of her dreams and all they shared together already because time feels as if it moves differently in the Plane of Dreams. Surely she could elaborate that Mesdoram demonstrates a devotion she has never experienced before and she is in her two hundreds age wise, so she doesn't believe in wasting time. Her own health is not all it should be and before Mesdoram she only saw nothingness when she considered her future because she feels like she is not long for this mortal plane, but now she sees bright happiness, no matter how brief. These young warriors might understand one day, but not this day - so she doesn't waste the precious time she has left with Sapphire and she simply smiles kindly at them. "No… is my answer to your question."

With that she leaves the pair to stew in their confusion as she makes her way to the room Mesdoram had shut himself in and gently knocks before opening the door. "There is my fiance," her genuine happiness is evident in her expression as she gets a little thrill through her core when she refers to him as such. He might not understand the nuance and meaning of the title, but the way she says it might indicate how special it is. She takes her place next to him and leans in to gently adorn his cheek with a kiss, "did you find your Livi?"

Mesdoram smiles brightly to Brennia: the only being in the world who calms his heart and soul so. “Indeed, I am here.” Though not caught up with official terms, Mesdoram accepts all her pet names of him to mean affection and endearment – he accepts her and all her names he has for him. As she joins him and offers him some love, he instinctively nuzzles and wraps his arm around her waist securing them together. “I have indeed located Livi. She is currently somewhere in the northern Kelay Sage Forest; coincidently, she had been there when I had a scuffle with a lycan woman named Meri… we apparently almost crushed her as we leveled out the forest during our battle…” Anticipating this Meri, Mesdoram offers up additional facts. “This Meri is not aware she had been tricked by Nariv… in an attempt to ‘save’ the helpless and defenseless ‘Nariv,’ she walked right into the trap set by the elven witch…” Though he does not show it, Mesdoram is remorseful as he remembers all those deceived by Nariv… and all those people who still believe Mes is the mastermind… when he’s just a puppet.

“Forgive this Meri, please… she did not attack me out of malice. Everyone will see and understand soon enough.” With this information given to Brennia, Mesdoram slides over slightly to place Hawkeye’s device on top the end table before returning to his snugly hold to Brennia. “I have caused a lot grief and anguish upon this realm… most of this world despises me, and maybe some of that is warranted…” His body sinks in Brennia’s more during this unprompted soliloquy. “… I will never do her bidding again…” Strange creature this drow is… drow’s are supposed to be cold with evil ingrained within their heart… but with the combination of Hawkeye’s influence and Brennia’s love, Mesdoram seeks another path. “You’ve given me that strength to resist… and I am forever grateful to you, my angel.” He lingers in her presence as just being around Brennia gives him so much peace. “I love you Brennia…” The absolute serenity allows Mesdoram so much harmony he has actually drifted into a small sleep, not realizing how tired he is… this will be the second best night of rest he has ever experienced… both nights next to his angel.

Brennia can feel her wings shiver as his hand slips past the base of them to wrap around her waist and under the cover of them. Her solid teal hues rest on his face as if engraving his visage in her memories. His tale gives her no concern because she knows he can battle anything thrown his way and trusts his skill. Meri is a name she knows well and considered a friend, though. Then he clarifies that it was all due to an understanding and this elaboration makes her feel better about the situation. She accepts him into her arms and rests her cheek on the top of his head while listening to him, "I am sorry Sapphire. I do not despise you, I do not think I ever could." The thought is comforting as one of her wings drapes over him comfortingly as the velvety feathers would feel so soft and inviting. "Where one is weak the other is strong for them… it is what love is all about, Sapphire. We accept all the faults in one another and hold each other up when we are down."

"I love you too, Mesdoram," she says, softly speaking his true name and her subtle accent comes out once more. Her heart soars to the moon with the feeling it gives her when he speaks from the heart. For a moment she simply lets the drow slumber against her with a smile on her face as she listens to his breathing and watches his blissfully peaceful face. Eventually she is cautious not to wake him when she gently shifts him to lay down and covers him up under the comfort of the blankets. After slipping into bed with him, sleep comes easy for her as well and her dreams are filled with all the things that could go wrong at a wedding.

Kelay Sage Forest - Northern Region

Mesdoram, Brennia, and the royal escorts make their way to the aftermath of an epic battle scene in the Kelay Sage Forest; in a circular perimeter of about five acres worth of forest, the ground is scattered with large logs of fallen trees next to their roots and stumps – like a graveyard for lumber. This is the place where Meri and Mesdoram fought two months prior as vegetation and lichen formed over the slowly decaying bark of these once majestic trees. Mesdoram is responsible for all of this carnage attempting to scare Meri back to southern Kelay… never intending to inflict harm on the lycan woman. “Here is where Livi was seen in my memories,” Mesdoram audibly speaks to his entourage, then a sigh of relief follows, realizing Livi might not have been crushed by his powerful energy burst to stave off Meri. “I believe she is still here… let’s look for some clues.”

With that said, Mesdoram takes charge and navigates over to the northernmost point of the battle. “This is where Livi ran off to. This might be the most efficient start to our-" Suddenly, a much older snow leopard had leaped down from her perch and lands harshly upon the fallen tree nearest Mesdoram – having trailed away from Brennia and the two guards, the drow instinctively holds out a hand behind his back commanding them stand still. The sheer weight of this snow leopard’s four foot two hundred and twenty pound girth dents the brittle bark with four separate paw prints now permanently embedded in the tree’s foundation; snarling and baring teeth, this out of place snow leopard roars loudly at the intruders ready to defend her turf. Lowering his voice, Mesdoram softly whispers. “Livi…” saying this both to the animal and conveying this information to Brennia. “It’s you.” The drow and Livi continue an intense stare down… until Livi sniffs the air and smells a very faint smell- of Hawkeye?? This stimuli causes Livi to roar loudly at Mesdoram again being confused why she smells her master’s scent in the air – Mesdoram does not move in fear Livi will pounce at anyone; he has zero intention of bearing arms against this majestic beast and would only show force to protect his flock… he just shhhhhs the animal giving Brennia and the guards time to react appropriately.

Brennia keeps up well enough with the other three, even if this two day excursion has been pushing her delicate health to the limit. The destruction he had described to her is nothing compared to what they stumble upon in the Sage Forest and she is left astonished. If she truly considers things, she shouldn't be so surprised from the sheer force he displayed for the Queen not three days ago. Dhrada and Aiset split up to search for clues, but not too far where they cannot keep an eye on their captives. Brennia follows Mesdoram's lead, looking one way while he inspects the path on the other side. "I see," she responds to Mesdoram, but his next sentence is cut off by the appearance of Livi herself! Her hope outweighs her fear as a soft smile spreads across her lips. Dhrada and Aiset are set in defense mode, but are prompted to stop by Mesdoram. They could care less what happens to the drow and are more concerned with what happens to Brennia because they know Queen Reginae would not hesitate to have them killed for letting even a scratch harm the avian.

The brothers share a glance, knowing exactly what they will do if that forceful snow leopard lunges for Mesdoram while Brennia is being protected behind him. In reality, it does look a little off with the drow only being up to the tall woman's shoulder in height, but they know he is more than capable. The avian cannot take her eyes off the majestic creature as it sniffs the air and she is also thankful that she remembered Hawkeye's tip to bring along his old clothes, recalling how she secretly stuffed some in Mesdoram's own bag before they left that cabin. There is a chance that Brennia's own proximity to the leopard would allow the feline to pick up her favorite scent from the avian aspect, but she didn't want to risk it. In an attempt to calm the situation, Brennia reaches a hand in the space between her back and wings where her hidden pack is. Maybe she can pull her kalimba instrument free and play a calming tune, but Livi registers this movement as a possible threat.

With an effortless leap, Livi is now lunging towards the couple with aims to eliminate her threat, the winged woman. With a quickness and impeccable accuracy, Dhrada thrusts his pole spear between Mesdoram and Brennia to separate the two. Then he uses the advantage to swipe the avian away from the drow and into the arms of Aiset, who quickly slithers her away from harm no matter how much she is kicking and screaming or trying to order them to protect Mesdoram instead. Brennia watches in horror as a large paw swipes at Mesdoram before the commotion causes the skittish feline to rebound off the drow to scramble back into the thicket of the forest. That ink pattern on Brennia's skin swirls for a second, giving the bard just enough strength to successfully push Aiset off of her so she may run back to Mesdoram's side.

Mesdoram scowls terribly as Livi leaps towards him and Brennia; hearing the elegant tune cut short like a record scratch did cue the drow to prepare for an assault from the animal. Ready to catch Livi and toss her away from Brennia and the others, his preemptive plan is foiled as the naga guard enters his peripheral vision and thrusts his pole spear between the couple. Angrily, Mesdoram smacks the weapon out of idiot’s hand screaming “I TOLD YOU TO STAND DOWN!” – if this naga brother would have unintentionally gotten Brennia killed or Livi skewered on his poleaxe, the drow would malevolently disembowel both brothers before returning to the castle for his own execution by the Queen. The only saving grace is that Brennia is whisked away from Livi’s attack despite the avian’s best arguments and protests; however, all these distractions raise Livi’s success rate to land a blow on the distracted drow.

Indeed, Livi slashes across Mesdoram’s blue robes, powerfully rips through the metal chain-link drowmail he wears, and tears into his flesh with 4-diagonal slices from his collar bone down to his left oblique muscles. Finishing her powerful display, Livi pins Mesdoram down to the forest floor and flashes her enormous fangs with an intimidating snarl roaring throughout the Sage Forest. ‘Why do you smell like my master!?” Would be the expression on Livi’s face is conveying to Mesdoram… but the animal’s psyche is consumed with fear, confusion, and instincts to protect her home. The excitement becomes too much for the snow leopard though and she pounces off the tiny drow to make her escape into the thicket of the forest… finally disappearing where the Sage Forest still had trees standing erect.

Mesdoram awkwardly pushes himself up to his elbows before clumsily standing up to his feet; wobbling around like a drunk man, the drow stumbles back down to his knees as his pain receptors finally break through the adrenaline that was blocking the pain from Livi’s swipe. Palpating through his tattered sapphire robes and feeling through the broken armor, Mesdoram tracks the four two inch gashes clawed across his body before checking his palm for blood; though he is indeed bleeding and in considerable pain, the wounds would not be fatal and will serve as kindling to feed Mesdoram’s rage to the interfering brother. “You!” Mesdoram points with a bloody index finger past Brennia’s left shoulder to the naga soldier… the pure vitriol seeping from Mesdoram’s lips is enough to send a chill through the sea serpent’s spine. The drow attempts to take a step forward and collect himself to exchange words with the guard… but one step is all he can take; Mesdoram isn’t incapacitated by any means, but elects to save his strength as Brennia rushes to his side. Finding comfort in her hold of him, Mesdoram’s weight gives out as Brennia attempts to catch him from collapsing back onto the forest… happy that she is with him while glaring daggers at the naga Guards.

Brennia whispers out, "oh, Sapphire," in a panic when she sees the red seeping out across his chest and guilt immediately fills her because this is all her fault. "Get him, I need to heal him," when they dare hesitate to move because the drow is still glaring at the pair, Brennia narrows her gaze dangerously at them and her timbre turns icy cold, "now." The pair hop to, Dhrada hoists Mesdoram up to carry him and she pulls free a couple of clean rags from her hidden pack while instructing him to, "keep pressure on his wound with this." Aiset keeps a watch out for any other possible dangers, but they all accidentally leave the pack on a stump with Hawkeye's clothes inside. She leads the way until they come across an abandoned home just off the main street of Kelay, so they won't be bothered and also out of harm's way. Aiset continues to keep watch while the other helps Brennia inside, laying Mesdoram on one of the beds within a room of the abandoned house. She smiles sweetly down at the drow even though there are tears of guilt threatening her eyes, making them shine in the dim light, "it's okay, Sapphire."

"Help me get his armor off," she commands Dhrada and he wastes no time. It was easy enough to unfold the robes from him, but he needed to be propped up so the chainmail could slide off overhead. Now that his chest is bare, she can inspect the wounds more closely than before and her stomach opens up a pit of more guilt when she sees four gashes. Mesdoram may still be conscious enough to see the anxiousness in Brennia's wings, the obvious worry is shown there, but her facial expression remains calm and determined while she works. She continues to pull things free from the hidden back, things that make no sense being able to all fit. After cleansing her hands, she gently pulls free the blooded rags from the gashes in his chest and raises a bottle that looks like it is filled with a liquid with suds at the top. It seems to be a simple cleansing solution and she warns, "this might sting a little, my love," just before letting the soapy water flush any debris caught in the wounds. Then she grasps another bottle which smells like strong liquor when opened, but this time she warns, "and this one will sting a lot… I am sorry," before pouring the alcohol along the wounds to disinfect.

"Please, just try your best to relax, Mesdoram. This will feel uncomfortable," but hopefully there is enough adrenaline coursing through his body to distract him from what she has to do. With a quickness, she readies four needles and sutures, a surgical thread harvested from certain spiders and their strong webs. Back at the House of Ara in Larket, she was known for her quick and cleanest suture lines. Just like riding a bike, she starts to gently poke the needle through his dark skin on either side of a gash and effectively sews him back shut before repeating the process on the next. Once she ties off the last suture, she reaches for a jar and explains, "this is a specially made salve I've concocted." Who knew the woman was quite the healer when she needed to be. "It is going to feel a little tingly in a soothing sense, but after a little while the cuts will feel numb and that is normal. It means it is doing its job keeping harmful bacteria out and helping you heal." She applies a thick layer on his stitched wounds and her wings have finally relaxed some, but now sink with that guilt. Even so, this odd sense washes over her that she cannot explain because she has never had to heal someone she was romantically involved with to this extent and it gives her a strange warm feeling inside.

After cleansing and drying her hands again, she sits herself down on the bed with him while applying some gauze secured with surgical tape to keep the wounds bandaged up for proper healing. With a wave of her hand, Dhrada leaves them alone and closes the door behind him. Then both of her silky warm hands rest on the rugged abdomen part of Mesdoram's torso and she cannot help it as a tear finally slips down her cheek. "I am so sorry about Livi, Sapphire, it was my fault. If I had not reached for my kalimba, she wouldn’t have attacked," Brennia lifts one of her hands off him and uses the back of her hand to dry her tears. "The good thing is that she is alive,” she attempts to help both of them look on the bright side, but it doesn’t help the guilt as she looks to an armchair in the room. “I understand if you’re cross and don’t wish to be near me right now for what I did, but I’ll just be right over there if you need anything for your wound,” she mentions because he may not wish to see her at the moment, but he is her patient now and will ensure he will be taken care of. At least he won’t have to lay next to her while he recovers and she respects that. Before she stands up, if he lets her, she leaves him with this, “I hope she comes around some day to give you a chance"

Mesdoram | As his adrenaline levels fluctuate wildly throughout the ordeal, Mesdoram’s consciousness hangs by a thread during everything; he will not remember Dhrada holding him up and helping Brennia bring their entourage to safety in the Kelay Way house. His eyes blink in an inconsistent manner as they remove his robes and chainmail, seemingly responding positively to Brennia’s voicing instructions to Dhrada. “Am I injured?” Mesdoram thinks he says outloud, but comes out in a mumbled type of groan. The drow feels… a breeze of some sort? Not putting the pieces together in his delirious state, the anxiousness of Brennia’s wings create a gentle steady gust that keeps him cool as his body sweats profusely throughout the procedure. ‘This might sting my love…’ Echo’s in his brain and his body instinctively tenses up as it prepares for Brennia’s healing hands to do their work.

‘And this one will hurt a lot…’ Mesdoram’s right fist clenches the body of the bedframe and cracks the wood as he grips the support beam; Dhrada holds Mes’s arm in fear this involuntary action will hinder Brennia’s abilities. There is a lot of calm under the storm; though Mesdoram’s body fidgets here and there, his mind feels everything and curses the naga brother’s interference in their quest for Livi… but then a relaxing soothing wave fills his body as Brennia applies the salve and calms his entire body while they bandage up the gashes… and lays motionless and breathes steadily in a state of comfort.

Mesdoram wakes up as Brennia politely dismisses Dhrada (who briefly makes eye contact with Mes before leaving… words will be exchanged when they are back at Alithrya…) and listens to Brennia blame herself for his injuries. The drow furrows a brow in confusion and reaches for one of her hands that caress his stomach. “Who told you this was your fault?” Holding her hand now in a gentle grasp, the drow does appear angry for a moment… but more concerned as to who told Brennia the fault was hers. “I do not believe this to be your fault… I would nev-“ As she looks over her shoulder and eyes the armchair for a haven, he brings himself to sit up on the edge of the bed… or at least attempts to. Pushing himself upwards as much as he can and crunches his abdominal muscles awkwardly and weakly lifts off the bed; due to the blood loss he suffered, he did not realize how weak his body was at this moment and stumbles backwards into the mattress. This was not a gesture… he was going to follow her to the armchair if he had to crawl along the floor…

“Brennia… I would never blame you for this… do not think for one second… oh…” Mesdoram feels a pull in his lower right side and palpates the lowest suture nearest his hip bone. In his rush to stop Brennia, it looks as though he ripped one or two bottom stitches as his hand has a small amount of fresh blood on his fingertips. Suddenly, he remembers the intensity of Livi’s assault and sees his body all bandaged up like a mummy. Peering his head up at Brennia, he realizes… “Did… did you heal me, my angel? This is amazing… when did you…?” Coming back down, his blood pressure forces him to lay back down as his vision goes black and white like TV static. “Brennia… you saved me… you are amazing…” He weakly turns his head over to stare lovingly but warily up at Brennia and asks her before drifting to rest. “Do not leave my angel… I feel much better with you laying at my side…” Mesdoram's bloodied hand fully collapses onto his chest as his body begins creating new blood - a very peaceful drow slumbers for now, happily dreaming of his wonderful angel who saved him.

Brennia isn't able to make it over to that chair because as soon as Mesdoram is trying to get himself on his feet, popping stitches, she is back at his side. Right where she belongs. Then she helps him back on the bed and caringly says, "careful, Sapphire." She guides him to lay back down as he seems so impressed that she has a skill other than looking pretty. Vanity is easy, but when her skill or passions get complimented, that is what always flatters her most. Unable to help the grin that follows her blushing, she replies, "well, I am trying to if you would just rest." She fixes the stitches he had busted and reapplies some salve before replacing the bloodied bandages with fresh ones. During all of this, she explains, "while I was on the run from the Flewminati. I had to pick up a lot of skills on my own and the healer's guild helped me in many ways. I can heal in a practical sense, yes."

Then she accepts his will and settles down in the bed next to him, using her wing to keep both of them warm for the night. In spite of the injury, all feels right. Livi is alive and must have recognized some little part of Hawkeye from them. By this time tomorrow, Mesdoram should be well enough to travel back to Alithrya where Nadia can double check her work. They have a wedding to plan and then his big play will be two days after that. At the thought of what might happen, her stomach gets that sinking feeling again, but she tries to distract herself with wedding things before finally drifting off to sleep next to her love.
