Dragon's Head Inn

Synopsis Joan picks up another mission while at the Black Spire, reading it over she decides to go looking for Daisy the kitten to see if she would like to come along and help out. Joan finds the kitten deep down in Craughmoyle, Daisy agrees and off the pair go!

Daisy stretches both arms above her head and yawns as she makes her way down the stairs. Every now and then, our sweet kitten likes to stay in a bed with sheets and pillows and doors with locks. But sleep has come and gone and now is for finding some sort of foodstuffs to fill an empty belly. It is noisy and smoky and full of people, but that is okay. She'll just slip on by to a stool there at the end of the bar. Out of the way, you know. Dwarves like meat, right? Mmm. Bacon.

Joan had just finished off her daily duties from the Black Spire, she had seen a listing from a new quest that was open to anyone interested. The vampiric healer took the listed mission off the public guild board before hoofing it at a brisk pace to the dwarven city, she would stop now and then to ask a few probing questions about the issue of the rodents before she entered into Dragon's Head Inn. Looking around as she entered the undead woman would be given a gruff greeting by the barkeep, she would offer a smile and polite wave with a loud, "Hiya Kitten!" Once she spotted the kitten. Waving off the gruff barkeep Joan would wander over to the feline with a large smile on her lips. "Lucky, I ran into you, I was about to start off on a mission that involved stolen shines and rodents, would you be interested in helping out?"

Daisy turns towards that call out with some bacon hanging from her mouth. She smiles around the porky strip of delight and nods to the woman she dares calls friend. Are you friends? Well, you're not enemies. And if shinnies are involved, we might as well help out. Some money is put on the counter as she offers Joan some of the foodstuffs still on her plate. There's only bacon left, so probably Joan should feel way honored like woah that it is being shared. Even if she doesn't eat bacon. Daisy doesn't assume. "I can go."

Joan took the offered strip of bacon, who is she to refuse crispy bacon?! She popped the piece into her mouth and chewed in a polite manner with those icy pale lips closed. She swallowed then licked her fingers clean of the wonderful grease before pulling out the paper that had the details of the mission on it. This she offers to the kitten so she can read and study it. "Seems there is a rodent problem, once these groups of rodents are seen shiny valuables go missing, no doubt being picked up and carried away by the rodents. An undead child is reported to have some odd sack and seems to be in league with the rodents because it has been spotted stuffing objects gathered by the rodents. Once the child is approached it upends the sack and loads of rodents spill out from it, I'm guessing the rodents are summoned from the sack."

Daisy listens and studies and frowns the more Joan talks. Rodents! Gross. They come with fleas and disease and holes in cheese. Nobody likes holes in their cheese. Unless it is a nice Swiss. With mushrooms. And a burger. And - girl you just ate. Stop that! This is serious business, and you don't have a briefcase so pay attention! She swats at the bit there above her shoulder and goes back to reading. Maybe that bag belongs to whoever posted the mission. She points to the bit about said bag. "We should return it." Not that Daisy has any interest in a bag that makes rats. Gross. Again.

Joan rubs her thumb along her lower lip as she glances over the much shorter kitten's furry shoulder as she looks over the mission. "Sure, I don't see any use to keep a bag that can summon rodents out of nowhere. Rodents are icky anyways." Joan said, tapping at the paper lightly with one clear polished nail, "And it didn't say anything about having to return anything shiny we might find. Bonus, yes?" She asks in a mischievous tone of voice.

Daisy leans her head way back to grin up at Joan. Oh no. Nothing about returning the shinnies. Nothing at all. Probably they won't even find any shinnies. That is what they'll tell the mission giver anyway. Yes, this sounds like a good plan. You know what else sounds like a good plan? Glimmery bits of fur darting over there for kitten eyes to see out of the corner of them. Peripheral! Yes! That is a thing. From the corner and under the table. "There!" She points out the scurrying beast before hopping off her stool and chasing after it with a tug on Joan's arm.

Joan follows after the blonde kitten since her arm was tugged. Her odd, voided light violet orbs spot the dark tiny shiny furred rat moments after Diasy leads them off after the tiny pointy-nosed mammal. The rodent lets out a panicked squeak once it notices it is being followed by the kitten and the vampiric healer, the beast putting on as much speed its little paws can muster. "You can't get away!" Joan calls out after that long-tailed rodent puts an extra burst of speed on as it leads them out of the Inn.

Daisy falls slightly behind the much taller Joan as they dart out of the inn and into the street. Whew. Darting is not for fat kittens, that is for sure. She pants softly and looks up and down the street to see which way. Man, that little bugger is fast. Are all rodents so fast? Maybe this one has relations to some in sombreros. Maybe. Oh! Oh, there it is down that alleyway behind the inn! "Joan!" Maybe we need some vampire speed to catch up to the rat cause kitten speed is absolutely not cutting it. Plus, a little bit of Daisy wants Joan to reach it first, so she doesn't have to touch the thing. Gross.

Joan lets out a curse as she loses sight of the dark-furred little rodent before Daisy with that wonderful kitten sight spots the fleeing small beast. With a growl, the vampiric healer picks up her speed, and she darts up on it just as it is about to round the back of the Inn. reaching out with her much longer reach she scoops up the creature, as her icy pale fingers grip and fit the rodent off its four tiny little paws it lets out loud alarmed squeals, the undead woman gives the captured animal a tiny shake as she hissed out, "Quiet, you are still alive.' She stood in place as she looked back to see where Daisy is at. "I hope you can have animal mind speech, I don't."

Daisy finally manages to catch up to the other two in the current happenings of the story right now. She keeps her distance so if there are indeed any fleas on the rat, they won't get in her fur. Flea baths smell horrible. Now while she caaaan encourage animals to come hang out, she can't just have a chat with them over some tea. So, asking this rodent where he's off to is not super high on her ability list. What she can do, however, is supply a leash from her bag. She digs in there and comes out with a bit of thin rope. Not quite string, but a stronger rope. "It can show us the way." Said rope is tied around the little rat's head and belly between its arms and legs in an x so it can't just slip out. Once knotted, she hands the rope to Joan.

Joan chuckles as she just shakes her head as she finally takes notice of Diasy keeping her distance from the rodent. To this, she said, "Rodents are normally very clean animals. They like to be shiny with well-groomed fur like any other mammal." As Daisy suits up and ties the impromptu harness and leash to the captured rodent Joan gives the tiny creature a meaningful stare, "Like the kitten said, you can lead us the way, if not I'mma let Daisy have her feline way with you." It was as good as a threat as any and the rodent shook in fear for its life as it was put down on the ground now, Joan gave the rope-like leash a small shake as she jerked her head forward to indicate it should get to leading the way.

Daisy blinks in horror at Joan. Feline way? Feline waaaay? What does that even mean? This kitten absolutely does not want anything to do with the rat whatsoever. No sir e bob! Let Bob have his Bob way with the rodent! Gross. Daisy shudders as she follows behind Joan and the very compliant rat. Feline ways must be very scary to rats since this one is trotting along down the alley. Owait. We forgot about the shiny. Daisy pauses to pick up where the rat dropped it after being snatched up by Joan. Seems it was just a bit of silver. She slips it into Joan's pocket since Joan IS the one who picked up and -touched- the rat.

Joan didn't notice when Daisy slipped that looted dropped silver coin into her pocket, she was tracking the leashed rodent as it led them further down the alleyway. The rodent paused as it lifted up its snout to scent the air to make sure it was following the scent trail left behind by its many other fellow rodents, one paw lifted upwards in a pose before it began to scurry down the dwarven tunnels, taking them deeper and downwards into the city. Soon all along the way sights can be seen of scurrying rats, all seemingly heading towards a dead-end street.

Daisy can give just as sneakily as she can take! It is a skill she is most proud of. After all, wishing people to find money they didn't know they had is one of the kindest blessings you can bestow. What are we doing now. Following and walking and padding along until more and more of the rats are appearing. Rats without harnesses and being forced to be tour guides. There at the deadest of ends is the little undead girl with her little rat bag. Daisy leans in the closest and whispers the softest so only Joan can hear. "Do we catch her?"

Joan stops short and the rodent leading them lets out a squeak in protest as it is meant to return with its shiny to the undead little girl. Joan offers a frown as she leans down to scoop up the leashed rodent, turning in a quiet manner to her fellow sneak-thief companion kitten. "I suppose so...but do you notice that strange symbol on her bag? It is an ever-swirling vortex...I have an odd feeling about it, I think it's the symbol for that deity...uh Cire. We should perhaps go for something different, me for the undead little girl and you try for the bag? Just in case..."

Daisy doesn't know a whole lot about gods or goddesses or deities, but she does know that probably making them mad isn't a good idea. Maybe Cire blessed this little undead girl and messing with the girl is a good way to get smited. Smote. Smitten. Yeah, I don't think that is it. Anyway. Someone missioned for this girl to be gotten and now they're gonna get to the getting. But what does Joan expect her to do? That little girl is just standing down there in the ends and there is nowhere for kittens to be sneaky. Maybe... Well, the girl isn't much bigger than Daisy, right? "Okay." So, Daisy squats down with a little wiggle of her tush. She shifts back and forth on each foot. Stalky. Stalky. Stalky. POUNCE! She leaps right for the bag, clutching both hands over the top so it can't be opened.

Joan had let the little dark-furred rodent lose from its binding harness and leash, setting it down to make a 'go on git' hand motion, it takes the hint and flees! That blonde kitten and vampire had given the poor creature a fright for its little life, and it didn't think to stop or let out an alarm to warn the poor little undead girl it had been working for. Nope, it scrammed and got away while the getting was good. The many other rodents were too single-minded focus taking their little stolen shinnies towards the undead girl so the pounce from Daisy was a total surprise! Joan had stepped forward just about the same time as Daisy pounced, the vampiric healer moving to grasp at the shoulders of the undead little girl. "Hey there kiddo...what'chu doing, hm?" Joan asked as she encircled that undead little girl in a tight grasp, Joan didn't need to worry about hurting the small child as it was dead, but she did let out a super loud holler of surprise as she is caught.

Daisy manages to snatch the bag away from the girl just as Joan catches her. Little kids are no match for us! Heh. Yeah. Great job. Maybe. Sure, feels kinda like cheating, right? Well. Uh. Hey! Hey, the undead girl is causing rat troubles and is a danger to society. Yeah! Yeah, that's it. Dangerous dangers that need to, um. Justice and. Honor? Daisy keeps the bag shut tight against her chest as she looks up at Joan. "Do you take her somewhere?"

Joan just shakes her head sadly from side to side as she glances down at the now squirming little undead girl. She was not instructed about what to do if she just happened to capture the child in question. With a heavy sigh, the undead woman lightly strokes the wisp of hair upon the child's skull hushing her. "Shush child, we are not out to harm you, we just want to know what you are up to and for what reason, okay?" The child stills for a moment before she mumbles something about 'Choas spreading' and 'Cire', Joan makes a face of unpleasantness as she shoots a worried glance towards Daisy over the undead child's almost bare skull.

Daisy figures the little girl is probably doing something she was told to do. She doesn't seem to be some huge mastermind behind some great diabolical scheme. But if anyone knows something about books and covers, it is Daisy in her sweet, petal-dusted jacket. She looks down at the bag, over at the girl, then up at Joan. "Maybe the mages know?" Because Daisy doesn't know. Probably it is a good idea to let the mages have the girl and figure out what to do with her. Someone missioned for the rats to stop. Maybe they know what to do with the girl. It certainly isn't up to Daisy to decide! She's just along for the shiny things.

Joan lets out a deep world-weary sigh as she bends at the waist till, she sets the little undead girl back onto her dirty tiny feet. Joan freeing the child from her gasp, the undead little girl spins about in place as she just stares from Joan to Daisy in a purely innocent manner. "Was told to do so...I follow command." Rubbing at her face Joan would say, "Look kiddo, we can't have you spreading about rodents, the whole land just recovered from such a disaster. If you can tell us who gave you the bag maybe we can go and give it back and nothing else needs to be said or done about the manner, yeah?!" She gives the innocent-looking little dead girl a pleading glance hoping she has enough sense to agree and let the issue go.

Daisy gently taps her fingers against the symbol on the front of that bag. Probably it is a good idea to get rid of this thing. Or at least keep it from making more rats. Someone has to know what to do with it. Scissors probably isn't going to cut it with this fabric. Heh. Cut. Maybe Inky knows? Or someone who is good with fabrics. Bags. Bleh, they'll figure it out. She purses her lips and sniffs. "Go home." Green eyes stare at the little girl without blinking. No blinks. Solid. Stare. Yeah, that little undead girl isn't staying. She takes off without giving Joan or Daisy another thought. Where she goes? Who knows. She is just not here in the end anymore. So, what happens now? Now Daisy has a bag and Joan, and a bunch of rats suddenly fall over dead since the bag has a new owner and that owner absolutely does not want rats running around.
