This is a Healer's Guild RP.

Summary: Khitt tries to heal Shishi's eye after his duel against Demeter. It doesn't work out. Seems the Titan has some "allergies".

Treacherous Traverse, Southern Sage Forest

Shishi is growing increasingly frustrated and exhausted, or at least as exhausted an undead creature like him can become. He chases ghosts that only he can see through the air around the sloping battleground that was the location of his latest Titans of Winter victory. As he dives through one image of Ernest another appears just a few meters away in a random direction. This goes on for some time as the black-winged Demon flies around, shouting profanities at the hallucinations to the confusion and entertainment of the crowd that has stuck around for this odd display. Finally, an image of the rehydrated mummy appears on the slope and the assassin, his clothing in smoldering tatters, divebombs into it, landing in a violent slide that tears moss from stone as Blue comes to a stop as the spear’s curse’s effect dissipates and there are no longer any phantom enemies for Shishi to chase…

Khitt had been watching with growing concern as Shishi attacked nothingness--at least it was nothingness to the redhead despite it not being so for the elder vampire. He withdrew himself from the spot he’d planted himself at for duel, and took a few cautious steps towards the assassin. “You… okay?” Both he and Khitti were fully unaware of the neverending feud between Shishi and Ernest and if they did know, that’d only further their disappointment in what they had thought to be a promising student. Really, Ernest still could be, but that whole debacle where he stole Odhranos’ body was a bit much. “What are you doing? The match is over.” He knew he was stating the obvious, but it was just small talk to re-orient Shishi’s attention away from whatever it was that spurred this on.

Shishi spins on his heels, wheeling around to turn his not-burnt-shut eye onto Khitt. Fangs flash in the low light, the assassin involuntarily baring them as he speaks, “The Mummy-. He’s here-. Coming after Orange and Yellow…” The aforementioned twins are a few strides behind Khitt, and they look a bit confused as they come into their father’s line of sight. “We’re alright, Blue. He’s not here.” Orange says soothingly while her brother steps forward, unraveling the light blue scarf from around his neck and tossing the enchanted accessory to The Blue Demon as a replacement to the psychic-dampening necktie that Demeter had burned away. The Titan looks equally as confused as anyone else here now as he catches the scarf and whips it around his neck once, staining it with blood and soot immediately. He puffs out his cheeks as calm slowly returns to him and the pain from his numerous wounds and burns starts to become palpable. The one visible crimson eye fades back to its natural shade of oceanic blue and the assassin inhales and exhales one long, unnecessary breath, the old reflex reminding anyone watching that he was human once…

Khitt’s brows furrow at the mention of Ernest. He felt a rumble of overprotectiveness from Khitti’s side of their shared mind and a flash of rage to accompany it as he turned his attention briefly from the vampire to his children as they approached and Yellow silently comforted him with the scarf. “What’s he done now? What the hell does he want with the kids?” He eyed Shishi’s injuries, his lips pressed into a grim line. “You need to be healed or you're going to have a hell of a time against Kanna. I’ve healed undead in the past--and even just a bit ago during your duel…” Distracted, he tried his best to ignore Khitti’s ranting and raving in the back of his head, but he winced a little at the silent suggestion of her outright obliterating him with their light magic and tried to play it off as he was inspecting the gruesomeness of Shishi’s eye.

Shishi repeats Ernest’s stated goal to Khitt, “He says he wants to destroy my legacy.” The fangs are out on display again when he says this, the one good eye darting back and forth, still scanning for the crossbow-slinger. The redhead offers up some healing and The Titan glances towards his daughter as if looking for advice. She puffs out her cheeks and nods once. “Aye… You’re right.” Shishi says after Leralynn gave that go-ahead. “Think you can do something with the eye? The rest of these burns I can probably just bite s-...” He cuts himself off as he catches a furious scowl from Orange, who abruptly turns up her nose, spins around and starts walking down the slope towards the caves below, “I’m going to check to see if Dem needs any help.” A lie.

Khitt scowled at Ernest’s goal after Shi repeated it, then sighed. “Well, he’s not here. From what I’ve seen. If I happen to see him around, I’ll send word to you on the whereabouts.” He’d missed the mummy’s little appearance at the beginning of the match, as he was more focused on giving half-assed salutes to people he knew. And really? He was perfectly fine with letting Shishi rend the mummy limb from limb after the stunt he’d pulled on the Mage’s Guild. He smirked at Orange and her tantrum, then shrugged at Shishi. “Don’t mind her. A guy’s gotta eat, after all.” After another brief bout of inspection of Shishi’s eye, Khitt let out a ‘hm’. Just as he’d done during the duel for Kanna, Khitt summoned up a bit of shadows, letting them coalesce in one of his hands until he’d had enough of it to stretch and form a similar bandage with it. “Put this over your eye. It should stick to you alright, long enough for it to be absorbed and start healing.”

Shishi wrinkles his nose and is probably a bit too distracted by Orange’s little fit to notice the weaving of The Black Tides going on right in front of him. Arius does take note, but thinks nothing of it, the half elven teen far less venomous towards that field of magic than his father, despite sharing in the family’s curse. Without a thought, Shishi takes the shadowy bandage in his right hand and presses it over his eye with his palm. There’s no immediate reaction and when he moves his hand away, the bandage stays in place as intended, “Know how long this should take..?” He asks idly, spoiled by the instant gratification that Lithrydelian healing magic usually comes with.

Khitt tilted his head as he watched Shishi put on the bandage and then… nothing happened. “It should’ve only taken a matter of seconds. As in, it should’ve been done by now.” He too wrinkled his nose, the whole situation--from Ernest’s want to ‘end Shishi’s legacy’ to the not-working bandage--was entirely mindboggling. “I… don’t understand why it wouldn’t be working. The shadow magic’s been used to heal both Kanna -and- Quintessa. It’s supposed to work just like the light magic does except, you know, it doesn’t hurt undead.” He sighed heavily.

Shishi raises a brow, “Hmm… Weird…” he says when Khitt indicates that the absorption of the bandage should have happened by now. Then his stomach sinks, “Did you say shadow magic?” The two dreadful words dance past his lips in a hiss, “Black Tides?” Maybe Khitti will get her obliteration wish after all. Blue’s hand instantly snaps back up towards the bandage, but he can no longer grip it, his fingers passing right through as if it were no longer solid. “Oh sh-” He doesn’t get the curse out of his mouth before he roars in pain. Stolen blood begins seeping down his cheek from beneath the no longer tangible bandage. “What the heck!?” Yellow can be heard exclaiming just before an ominous pulse moves across the sloping terrain outward from the teen. The Yellow Beast’s eyes have turned red and a black ooze like substance starts to dribble out of his mouth. He points one finger towards his father and commands, “Off!” flicking his wrist backwards. The bit of shadow magic torturing Shishi is coaxed away by Arius’s order and whats left is a bloodied, but still burnt shut eyelid. Yellow winces and father and son both simultaneously say, “Well, that didn’t work…”

Khitti || “Y-yes?” The hesitation in Khitt’s voice was evident as his confusion towards Shishi’s predicament worsened. Hm. Had Orange mentioned Shishi’s aversion towards the Black Tides before? He squinted his eyes a bit in thought, briefly questioning whether or not Khitti could remember it either. Well, it can’t be -that- bad, right? Yeah. Sure. It’s totally fine. At least, Khitt thought so until Blue tried taking it off to no avail and Yellow started to help out. The redhead just kinda stood there, his hands casually in his pants pockets as he watched the two of them, his olive-green line of sight bouncing back and forth between them like he was watching a tennis match. Thankfully, Arius rid the assassin of it and Khitt was left to just ‘huh’ at it. “Yeah that’s never happened before. You, uh, don’t like the Black Tides?” He paused, pursed his lips together, and shrugged. “They don’t seem to like you much either, apparently. Starting to think we would’ve been better off going with the light magic.” Probably would’ve done the same amount of damage.

Shishi nods, perpetually winking, “Aye. Not a fan.” One look at Arius and it is obvious that the boy is elsewhere mentally, those glowing crimson eyes glazed over. “Gwah~” Blue calls out before scrambling over to his son and returning his scarf to his neck, but not before stumbling thanks to the wound left by the fire whip that burned half way through the flesh on his ankle. Just as Shishi’s had when he put that scarf on, Yellow’s expression softens and he becomes present again, though his eyes remain red and that black ooze remains at the corner of his mouth. Just then, Leralynn comes running back up the hill, slowly so as to make sure she doesn’t slip though, “Gwah~! I just remembered! Khitt, you probably shouldn’t use the Black Ti-...” Her face flattens, looking back and forth between the three men, “Oh…” Cheeks puff out before she simply adds, “Maybe we should just get going..?”

Khitti || “Heh, sorry. I’ll keep that in mind,” Khitt said. He frowned at Yellow’s demeanor, suddenly piecing things together as he remembered when Leralynn had mentioned a blood curse and their need to go to the Shadow Plane. It’s then that Orange returned and Khitt grimaced at her, “Yeaaah, a little too late there, but thanks.” He turned then back to her father, his frown still present, “Seek out Penelope or her coworker Ruari for help. She’s one of the best healers I’ve ever met and part of the Healer’s Guild too. One of them will be able to sort you out. And tell them to send me the bill for it. I suppose I should start asking people if they have aversions to my magic before I actually use it on them.” He made some mental notes for Khitti to remember for him, like how not all patients will react the same to their healing. “Kids, take care of your dad for me, okay? Seeing as how I just made things worse…” He gave them his usual half-assed salute, letting them leave if they so wished to.

Shishi repeats, "Penelope... Ruari..." like he has any chance of remembering those names after a few minutes. Yellow's still a little out of it, so Orange is the only one putting on a sweet smile and waving towards Khitt, "Aye, aye. Thanks for trying anyway. We'll see you at the title fight maybe," before she gathers up the boys and the family departs. Those that stuck around this long in the crowd looking to score an autograph will, sadly, be out of luck.
