RP:The Little Homewrecker

From HollowWiki
The Torn Earth
A large jagged object has recently torn through the earth here ripping layers of dirt, clay and solid rock clear apart, leaving a gaping wound that leads further into the ground. The violent strike has created dozens of piles of scorched earth and piles of smashed and blacked stone all around the area. Around the wound the ground is scorched black and crumbling into a fine black dust which is being carried away on the occasional gust. of wind, producing an acrid smoky stench, almost as if the very earth is being corrupted by unseen forces. The air around the dangerous wound which seems to be slowly collapsing in and thus becoming larger and more precarious is tinged with magic, the very air around it is glowing with strands of vibrantly coloured energies that twist, roll vanish and reappear seemingly at random producing eerie lights and a myriad of colour set against backdrop of the darkness below. Whatever tore through the earth here has clearly gouged further into the earth, like a misshapen blade or a beast gouging into flesh, making the area around the wound precarious, anyone seeking to explore further best be prepared...

Characters:

Summary: Ovouri unwittingly hatches, and bonds with, a peculiar black dragon.

Satoshi pokes about the walls with a claw, inspecting clumps of rock and earth closely but never once raising any sort of digging tool. In fact, the foxkin seems to be unequipped with proper mining gear altogether and appears more like a scholar looking over finds than anything else. The frequent murmurings of 'Hrm' only cement this fact, and it's just after one such sound is vocalized that Lady Frostmaw sighs and speaks. "That vein of fluorite es all dried up... There just has to be more around here..."

Ovouri if one had ever to doubt the sanity of the young assassin, here might be the proof. He scurries about in the massive cave, hither and thither in the almost complete darkness, book in hand, scribbling at this that and the other. He even makes to 'hmm' and make noises one might expect of a scientist exploring the area with great interest. This carries on for several moments as he examines mine-workers, stone walls, and even the condensation upon them. It is however with a sudden surprise that he bumps into and stares at the form of a large, marbled, 'stone'. The deviant leans closer, scribbling a bit more in his book before touching it and giving a shiver. He glances about, finding Satoshi and suddenly inquiring to her about the thing. " This stone is hot, and sort of shiney. Why? Vi has not seen any other stones like this here." He nods knowledgably, sure of his words, regardless of the chaos meteor not far off, of course he's not noticed it yet... only the strange 'stone'.

Satoshi eyes her assassin companion and his discovery with obvious curiosity, stepping toward them and away from her sought after vein of fluorite. "A warm stone? Someone's likely been sitting on it." As if to illustrate this, the snow bard hops upon the strange rock to settle into a cross-legged seat. Experimentally, Satoshi shifts about where she sits, tails flicking thoughtfully. "Hrm. It's not warm at all. Or my tail's gotten numbed to such things, sitting on a throne of ice~." Chuckling at her own joke, the foxkin leans back, her laugh cut off by a yelp as the stone shifts with the sudden change in weight distribution. The sound of crumbling stone, scrabbling claws, and the minstrel's startled cry follow before she and her makeshift seat disappear into the ever-expanding hole in the ground, a cloud of black dust in their wake.

Inside the Meteorite

Inside the Ominous stone it is like another world.... it seems to go on forever a gigantic plane of fire set against a backdrop of flashing lights and a deep blackness that seems to swirl absorbing everything in the distant sky. The flames are burning in every colour of the spectrum, brilliant reds to deep rich blues but all of them seem unnatural and out of place. The flames dance and move, forming random shapes and forms sometimes they take on the form of people and fight each other sometimes animals moving through the air. This stone appears to be a portal to another world and these flames seem to be the pure stuff of chaos, that which corrupts and destroys at a whim.

Satoshi said, "Nn..."

Ovouri comes following after the magus and his stone, laughing and talking as he follows. " Vi never seen that before! A queen fall'en down a 'ole!" There is a quaint, strange accent added to his words as he follows. Finding the stone and with it Satoshi he pauses to heft the rather large object in both hands. " It's warm... Mayhaps you should sit on a throne not covered in ice?" He grins a little wider and then tilts his head at his queen. "We could make it a stone for a crown!" As if to accent the thought he places the oval just above his eyes, touching it to his forehead. The thing is just slightly larger than the eggs of a wyvern and suddenly he shrieks, releasing the 'stone'. The young assassin bounds about holding his fingers and his forehead and hissing. "Burnt Vi, ouch!" He doesn't miss the surprise below him as the 'stone' breaks, shattering into shell-like pieces to reveal a small black iridescent-scaled dragonling that suddenly whines and sneezes upon his booted-feet. This draws a sudden shriek and saddened cry from him. " Oh no, was not a stone! I'm sorreh! Vi broke your house!! Vi can fix it maybe?" He attempts in vain to put the pieces together if only to frown at the little creature. " Vi sorry...Vi can give you a new home?" He touches the little creature and the red 'burn' on his forehead shimmers, before coating the right half of his face in a almost tribal tattoo. The creature's vanishing causing him to jump back, falling beside Satoshi in fear. "Oh no Vi killed it."

Satoshi is in the process of cradling her head in her hands, willing away the throbbing ache that's reward for her tumble down the rocky shaft. "Uhn...wha..?" She looks up, eyes blinking away their glazed state as she watches Ovouri prance about in obvious pain. A burn? From that cold stone she sat on? Peculiar. And as if to mock that thought, she's met with the stone shattering open before her, revealing the whimpering form of shiny black scales within. It doesn't take a genius to recognize the creature for what it is. "A... dragon." A dragon that promptly vanishes when touched by Ovouri, leaving the vulpine staring in shock and gingerly poking at the air where the hatchling had been seconds before. Meeting no unseen resistance, it's obvious the creature hasn't turned itself invisible as a defense mechanism, and Satoshi can only shake her head in wonder. "I don't think it's dead. Teleported, mayhaps? We -are- on the big and threatening si- ...what's that on your face, Vivi?" As if he can see the peculiar markings without a mirror.

Ovouri shakes his head, heartbroken about the entire ordeal as he stares where the baby dragon once settled. Satoshi's query forces him to blink and shakes his head. "Vi doesn't have anything on his face." He touches over the markings as if to prove this fact and shakes his head stubbornly. " Vi cannot see himself, no mirrors here." It's all very reasonable to be sure, his matter of fact-ness over this subject stating the obvious. "We can go home and see, maybe Ovouri can stop his mind from growling too?" Satoshi would have no clue what he meant, but sure enough within the confines of his mind the dragonling's concious was growling, or more accurately, purring in contentment. Ovouri now being bonded to a dragon and being completely unaware of the fact, for now.

Satoshi climbs to her feet and shrugs, offering a hand out to the deviant. "I think you mean your stomach. Let's head back, then. We'll get you some food and a mirror. Maybe do a lesson or two?" Whether she means reading or sparring, it's impossible to tell from her neutral expression. Well, neutral aside from the occasional, perplexed glance she gives to the markings running along half of Ovouri's face.

Ovouri seems only too happy to oblige bouncing about in a rather excited manner. " Satoshi is okay? Keeps looking at Vi odd."

Satoshi said to Ovouri, "Quite. Just getting used to you. You change more than -I- do," another sidelong look at the marks, "and that's saying something."
