RP:The Contracts

From HollowWiki

This is a Warrior's Guild RP.

Summary: After the most recent meeting went vaguely awry, Kasyr finally doles out the contracts for the squads to choose from.

Vigilanti Semper, Venturil

Kasyr has decided, at least based on last times disaster of a meeting, that wasting any time will only enable the meeting to be derailed and scuttled. In part, this is why there is no food to be found in the meeting room, nor tables to slumber on, or even plush or comfortable chairs. There's just a few rows of uncomfortable wooden seats, and a dossier placed at the foot of each one. As for the Kensai, he stands at the front of the room, hands clasped behind his back as he waits for people to gradually file in. A sort of civil silence that's only maintained until it seems like the last person has trickled in. "Alright, I'm going to make this quick for all of us. In the past, we had a number of requests from individuls, organizations, and even a city. That said, in light of the departure of the former leader, in tandem with our focused efforts against Xicotl- and the ensuing mess with another entity. Well- the situation has changed." It's at this point that he raises up one finger, "First off, we -had-, "There is a rather hard emphasis on that word, "a request from a Venturilian Alchemist- to rescue her son. The rescue effort never happened, and he has not been sighted since, so we can likely assume he's dead. Worse, the initial contractor has gone missing, for some time at this juncture. While I'd say it's none of our business, there has been sightings of undead in the same cave we were initially commissioned to see. It could be related, it could be tied to... other matters. But it may warrant investigation."

Kasyr || A second finger is raised at this point, "While there was a commission from Xalious a long time ago, in regards to some very weird creatures- that issue seems to have resolved itself. Technically." Up goes the third finger, "Instead replaced by a different problem. Some of you may be familiar with something called the Froad. While two strike teams were initially deployed to deal with the issue, only one succeeded. As it stands, there had been brief sightings of it in Xalious, but it's since moved on. Instead, there's been sightings of it in the wastes of Frostmaw, the swamps of Gualon, and Rynvales Dragonlands. ...I'm assuming some of these are false reports, because it's baffling it could be seen in all these locations. But, there you go." It's at this point the Kensais tone shifts from informative to Authoritative, "Speaking of which, Mathollak this is you squad's problem, given a certain bit of context. You can choose which sighting to tackle first, but, this should be attended to. Et, par chance, if one of the sightings is real- I want you to thoroughly scour the area for any eggs et deal with them.

Kasyr ||Speaking of which, Finger number four, "We actually have a new commission, somehow. This one is from the venturilian government, or at least, what passes as one. There's been a lot of people going missing in it's jungles. Initially this was attributed to the hazards of the wilds, like dinosaurs, or more invasive entities, like the Razurath, who muddied those waters. That said, recent information has placed the blame on the Preklek population, which seems to have spent close to a decade preying on the city and enslaving people." Wow, Kasyr just sounds -thrilled-. "The job is simple enough. Go in, disrupt their operations, free the slaves, put their infrastructure to the torch, et purge the lot of them. To the last." There's a severity to that last comment, born, perhaps by his nature as a paladin to Daedria, given that the prekleks fall within the unique niche of things created by other gods. Things who'd commited their lives to enslaving world after world. And they simply hadn't learned.

Kasyr ||It's at this point that the Kensai claps his hands together, "Oh, also- there was some sort of ...cult in Cenril, but, since Val's tenure as mayor, they seem to have moved their operations. Figuring out -where- is important, since benign cults are few and far between." That said, an investigation of that sort typically required a finer touch, "Those associated with Beldurs squad are being assigned to this." They can work out the specifics for themselves. "The Preks will no doubt require a more co-ordinated effort, but I want you to know what lies ahead in coming days. These current tasks should help to get everyone prepared, however." They need to be more co-ordinated then they are.

Kasyr said, "Any Questions?"

Nortengaal , unlike the last time he tried to find this place, was given proper directions this time and was able to locate the illustrious hall of the warriors guild. In the bit of time before the meetings beginning and after his arrival, he’s scoped the place out a bit and found it to be, frankly, pretty damn cool. Now though, his attention was given to Kasyr as the leader speaks, matter of fact tone and delivery interesting enough to hold attention without distracting from the content of the speech. Nort shifts a bit in his somewhat uncomfortable seat, waiting a moment before raising his hand. After another moment he speaks his questions. “Howdy, i’ve got a couple. So i’m extremely new here, whats the protocol for getting involved with things? Do i just pick a group and go, do i get assigned to a group, how does it work?”

Kasyr is just going to take the questions as they come, since that seems more in line with managing things efficiently, "Good question. You're still due for your initial trial. That said,- it's less a matter of seeing whether you're fit, and more to place which group you might benefit most from, and which will benefit from you. From there, you'd be taking orders from your squad leader, so we can enact these tasks fluidly- without necessarily needing to convene when the situation changes. So! If you want to stay after this meeting, we can see about addressing your placement."

Mathollak argues about everything.

Kasyr internally wishes he had a gold piece for every time Mathollak was being contrary, or obtuse. At least it would make enduring his presence feel like a side gig, "That's nice. Maybe do your job and deal with Tessa. Next question?"

Nortengaal nods, idly scratching at an itch behind one of his fuzzy ears, setting the gold rings to jingling slightly. “Alrighty, sounds good to me, thanks. I should be around for a bit afterwards, dont have much else to do today.”

Mathollak :: general disarray ensues.

Kasyr is willing to see if scruffing Mathollak will work. Maybe shaking him like he was a bag of snacks that was refusing to cough up the last few motes. Not that it's going to stop Kasyr from answering Nortengaal. "Good. Feel free to get a better look at the grounds and familiarize yourself with it. There's areas available to train and a number of instructors."

Jinfeng considers the breadth of what had been presented for a time, considering what had been mentioned. First off, he discarded thoughts of the jobs already assigned to core teams - His insistence upon the continued auxillary nature of his services meant that he couldn't really argue about such pre-assigned positions. After all, these were, presumably, specialists in such things. This left the 'Prekleks', slavers, and a mission that was noted as likely needing a coordiated effort, which was certainly worth looking into, but which should likely be considered after an initial shakedown, and the request to investigate a cave where a woman and her child had likely perished and which now seemed to be infested with the living dead. This piqued his interest - this would allow him to flex his new muscles, somewhat, and gain a more up-to-date understanding of co-operation with the Uyeer who he intended to recruit, along with whatever other soldiers he could bring into his group, and establish some amount of utility. Once that was handled, other things would be considered. The Monk rises from his seated position, near where he'd been the last meeting as well, and raises a hand in imitation of the other's gesture for wishing to speak. "If one wanted more information on one of these contracts, where would one be able to find this? Do we have an office responsible for distributing said tasks and information?" Mathollak seems to enjoy the physical contact.

Kasyr looks at Jinfeng, and then very casually points down towards one of the various folders resting on the floor, "Pertinent details are there for all of the current jobs. Which also helps in case one of the other squads require assistance, should things escalate. If further information appears, it will be delivered to whichever squad has been assigned to the task- at the earliest moment possible. Inversely, any new developments should be reported back to use. We do have an office currently focused on sorting through these details." Which Khitti certainly helped to organize. "Future tasks may require substantially more discretion. In those cases, the information provided will only be declassified for the squad assigned to that contract."

Kasyr might be making use of mathollak, like how a teacher uses a pointer.

Mathollak makes everything that he points at explode with sexy magic.

Mathollak the folder of jobs and tasks becomes an erotica novel full of pictures very explicit pictures.

Kasyr discards Mathollak. Out a window. "Anyways, if there's no further questions?"

Kasyr is done waiting. "Well, the meetings adjourned then. I expect reports on your tasks, by the end of the week, to at least outline your course of action, and any progress you make." There's something about the tone there, that seems to say 'now get out'.
