Enchantment Market

Summary: It’s the day of the first ever Summer Solstice Social in Enchantment! Hosted by Penelope and Lanara, the two women have gone all out to ensure that all attendees have a wonderful time at this casual, family and pets friendly, seasonal shindig! The winner of the suncatcher contest is Kanna and their design will hang at the entrance to the magical land for the next months.

Part of the Waxing Crescent, Wayward Course Arc

(Post 1 of 2) Lanara :: It’s a few hours before dusk and the event is in full swing as droves of people pour in through the magical city’s gates in hopes of celebrating the start of summer. The temperature is a perfect sixty degrees without humidity, and the sun beats down on the open market to light everyone’s way amongst the many vendors that have set up to either sell their wares, ask for donations, or simply to draw attention to a certain cause or topic. Several nourishment stalls line the forest paths with finger foods, sugary treats, and various flavored teas. The Green Fairy is open to the north to cater to those that require a heartier meal or a drink containing alcohol. Moving further into the area, there is a large bonfire being tended to so that there aren’t any forest fires, and a table that rests off to the side. There are scraps of paper, inkwells, and quills, and guests are encouraged to write down a wish that they have and to then toss it into the flames so that their dream is sent into the universe. A flower crown making station is to the west with every color and type of flower that’s grown from all over the realm, obviously imported just for this occasion. Just beyond there is an acre of freshly tilled land and a group of hobbits handing out packets of seeds as they are hoping to bring a community garden to Enchantment. They are friendly folk and engage in conversation with those that are into gardening, but they will warn guests to beware of the pixies! The glittering pint-sized pranksters just happen to be flying around the area making all kinds of mischief! To the right of the bonfire there are fairies offering face painting and hair braiding, and a few volunteers from Happy Tails Animal Sanctuary are giving free pony rides to the children. Just before the castle gates, there is an area that’s cordoned off and heavily guarded so that no harm comes to the contestants' suncatchers. Entrants are welcome to hang their designs from the limbs of the trees, or from spokes that have been carefully stuck in the ground. At every angle mirrors have been situated so that the sun is constantly sending reflections to and fro in every direction, making the suncatchers the main attraction for this event. Catchers of all colors, styles, and sizes draw the admiring eyes of all the guests, making it difficult to pick just one favorite! The one that -is- chosen as the best should be cast into the ballot box, as the winner will be announced later in the evening.

(Post 2 of 2) Lanara hangs her suncatcher from one of the lower limbs of a tree, as it’s not all that large. She didn’t want to take away from those that spent countless hours creating their unique designs for the contest, yet she felt compelled to at least contribute to the gallery. Her suncatcher is a very simple canine’s paw print, painted in shades of sapphire and sky blue, and outlined in silver glitter. It sways gently in the breeze and she admires it for a moment before she makes her way to the area where the bonfire is being tended. Lana looks mesmerizing in a maxi dress that has slits along each arm, to show off her tanned skin, yet the exaggerated sleeves dramatically extend the length of the dress. The plunging v-neck and front center skirt slit enhance her curves and meet in the middle in a flattering twist to add detail to her waist. The colors of the dress are various shades of gold, white, and orange and she wears dangling golden earrings to add a little flair. A pair of strappy, peep-toe nude heels are on her feet, and her nails have been painted a pale pink color. Lana wears enough makeup to accentuate her fair features and there’s a small sunflower painted on her left cheek, courtesy of one of the fairies. Her long hair has been pulled into an elegant braided bun and she wears a crown of sunflowers and lilies on top of her head. Lana smiles to those that catch her eye in passing as she stands at the center of the event, making sure that everyone feels welcome. Every so often she is approached by someone with a question or compliment, and she devotes her attention to their every need. After a few minutes, Penelope meets her and they embrace, “You look amazing! I’m so proud of us for hosting together! Are you ready to give your speech?” Giving Nel’s hand a squeeze, Lana stands to the side and tries to quiet the crowd so that her best friend can speak.

Penelope (1 of 2):: Penelope is just finishing kneading multiple twigs of baby’s-breath into her crown, as that was the first thing that attracted her when approaching this event. Her flower crown is mainly woven with twigs, eucalyptus, and the white weeds to create a simplistic look. The woman stands, and her midi-length dress drapes past her knee-caps. Clover-colored, lace-patterned fabric cascades over her frame. The only pop of this dress would be the deep open back which would make for some interesting tan-lines on such a sunny day, and the flair of short, flowy sleeves with darker green tassels that hang from the short cuffs. Her frizzy hair is pinned into a low, messy crown braid and wavy strands frame her freckled features. The green enhances the mossy stare she carried. She finishes putting the flower crown on her head to finish her look before moving on to move her suncatcher towards the current dangling ones catching the sun. Her suncatcher is also an easier creation as it sits in a metal copper circle–resin glazes inside the circle and various, dried fern leaves rest within it and a couple dried orange poppies from the Cenril’s Bazaar. The flowers had to go to some use. The Ardelian hangs hers next to Lanara’s suncatcher before moving onward to say her hellos to anyone who passes by before running into her best friend. “Oh my gosh, talk about me? Look at you! My favorite colors!” She rocks giddily in her brown sandals. “Ready?” She looks out towards the crowd, she inhales sharply. “No, but…” she grins crookedly and squeezes her friend’s hand in return. “Here I go.”

Penelope (2 of 2):: As the crowd gathered, doe-eyes cast towards each individual closest to her. In the distance, the light of the sun catches the glare of the dangling pieces. Pixies flutter and hobbits near as the Ardelian waves at the crowd, “Hi, folks!” The accented girl sounds chipper as the smell of forest and smoke from the bonfire lingers in the air–the smell of new season and hope. “I’m Penelope Halifax, and welcome to this Summer Solstice Social! My best friend, Lanara Lowell,” she gestures and waits for a couple ‘woos’ before she continues, as Lanara was known by quite a bit in Enchantment, “and I are excited that you are all here to join us on the longest day of the year to celebrate the sun’s power, as we are all awake and in our prime. The spirits feel it, too, and yearn to soak up the sun, but I know for some here just might be hoping for a good harvest, as well!” She looked towards the crowd, as some were there wearing protective garlands, while others were just there in the spirit of the change of season! “So, spend the day with us on the longest day and the shortest night and dance, burn your wishes in the bonfire, and spend the day thinking upon the nature around you!” Beat. “We have some amazing vendors who have planted themselves here for the festivities, so do not forget to support your small businesses around Lithrydel! We also have a flower crown making station with a multitude of choices to pick to make your perfect headpiece!” The Ardelian then points to the bonfire that has wood being tossed into the flames. “Write a wish and burn it for a touch of magic from the power above.” Eyes then cast to the pony rides, “The Happy Tails Sanctuary has been gracious enough to bring these sweet ponies to ride and enjoy the day! Maybe your wish is to ride a pony and drink tea at the same time? Your wish may come true today!” A grin washes over her features as she looks out to the crowd, “Have fun! I’m so glad that you are all spending the day with us! And relish in the rays to get the powering endorphins!” The healer nods before waving everyone off, so they can enjoy the festivities.

(Post 1 of 2) Loravelle's arrival is a little noisier than she'd like, given the faint jingling the sun catcher she carries makes. While not skilled in working with glass by any means, Lora found another way to create a sun catcher with ample amounts of tissue paper, wire, ink, and just the right amount of beeswax. She's adapted a style of metal and enamel work that she's familiar with from her homeland called cloisonne, borrowing its meticulous use of bent metal wires and colored enamels (in this case, she's using washes of ink on tissue paper) to create her sun catcher. Layers of ink-washed, near transparent sheets of tissue paper are carefully bonded together with beeswax to not only waterproof them, but keep each cut piece sturdy within the wire framework she has created. Said framework is predominantly comprised of copper wires to create a subtle but warm, glowing contrast to the bursts of colored paper when light shone on the piece, but what lends it most of its sturdiness is the use of a whiskey barrel band, carefully obscured with the wires used and tissue paper to blend it into the piece and not act as a distraction. Her sun catcher is a great wreath of flowers that she might struggle to carry if it were made of glass due to its size as it's roughly three feet in diameter. The wreath is comprised of bright summer blooms particularly, instead of her favorite plum blossoms and peonies. A smattering of brightly colored cosmos in warm hues, tiny, black-eyed Susans, the trumpet-shaped petals of purple petunias mixed in among them for contrast, dusty pink dahlias, clusters of hydrangeas in bursts of pale blue accompanied by smaller clusters of white phlox, a handful of green zinnias, a sheaf of lavender carefully curved along its wire stems to follow the perimeter of the wreath, and to cap it all off a single, lone sunflower placed at the very top, but slightly off-center to emulate the sun above just prior to noon. Instead of creating elements that dangle from the bottom of the sun catcher, she's chosen to fill in the wreath's midst with a borrowed wind chime she disassembled and repurposed for her wreath. The copper tubes are arranged in a circle, with the clapper and sail dangling in their midst replaced by her with wire and tissue paper monarch butterflies, crafted similarly to the majority of the wreath. The clapper, encircled by the wind chime tubes, has its wings angled as if frozen in flight, while the butterfly acting as the chime's sail is flat, wings splayed out for all to see.

(Post 2 of 2) Lora's appearance isn't as spectacular or detailed as her entry for the sun catcher contest. She wears something borrowed from one of her sisters; a floor-length, mint green dress with short, puffed sleeves that stop just above her elbows with a wide-brimmed hat to match that has been decorated with silk flowers. It doesn't tame her hair, but she's kept it all in place with a long braid down her back. Her sandals are brown and plain, held in place with leather laces tied around her ankles in neat little bows. She took the time to apply a little makeup to her face as well, finally feeling brave enough to try out some of the cosmetics Alvina gifted her; a bit of lipstick, a dusting of eye shadow in some attempt at what she learned from her sisters is called a smokey eye, black liner on upper and lower lids. She skipped the blush. Her cheeks had a tendency to turn pink so often in the rogue's presence that it didn't seem necessary, and her free hand held tight to Leo's. She's brought extra bottles of that allergy potion her father made for him, stowed away in a small bag slung over her shoulder just in case. After setting up her sun catcher, deciding to hang it up on one of the free standing poles rather than from a tree's limb since they looked easier to reach with her height. With that out of the way, Lora quietly admires her handiwork and glances over at Leo. Of course she wanted to make flower crowns, but... “Drink?” They probably had something strong and not glittery around here like that beer they had on their last trip here.

Kanna’s hands have seen better days. When she found out about the contest, she immediately sought out a vendor in Cenril to help her bring her vision to life. To the artisan’s dismay, Kanna wanted to color and fasten the glass pieces herself, but a customer willing to pay by the hour was a rare find. Approximately seven broken glass pieces and two trips to the Healer’s Guild for stitches later, the necromancer was now displaying her piece proudly in Enchantment, being sure to hang the suncatcher from braided fishing lines to ensure that they would not break and warrant a third trip for stitches. Dark opalescent silhouettes of two pixies facing each other and holding hands are at the top of this suncatcher, the light passing through their bodies creating a rainbow-like effect through the looking glass and onto the ground. The wings of the pixies are multi-colored, with the inside of the wings appearing like an opal sunburst made dazzling by the summer sun, and the edges of the wings tipped in alternating diamonds of cyan, magenta, and dandelion. While the pixies are two-dimensional, they stand upon a three-dimensional prismatic glass mushroom. The hexagonal platform of the top of the mushroom is a shining rainbow opal similar to the wings, while the six sides of the mushroom that hang down are an alternating cyan, magenta, and bright yellow. When viewed from different sides, every color imaginable can be seen through combinations of the three primary colors as the glass colors overlap. The stem beneath the mushroom is the same black opal as the pixies’ bodies, creating lighter and darker variations of the prismatic view when looking at the suncatcher from above or below. While the suncatcher itself is not magical, Kanna uses a bardic cantrip to create small floating lights that revolve around the suncatcher like planets around Kafzhash, illustrating the way different colors decorate the ground and stalls depending on the angling of the light. To keep an eye on her project, Kanna has set up shop near the project as well, with copies of her fae lore translation for those who are interested. Dressed in a sunflower-patterned Rynvalian robe, the bard looks down, her silver fringe obscuring her eyes as she thinks of what to write for her wish.

Blaire looked much the same as usual. She wore the customary wide brimmed hat and spectacles for when she visited the daylight lands, but otherwise came in her customary riding boots and figure-clinging leather pants. Though she wore a robe-like jacket in dark red with spell-laced circuits embroidered into the cloth and sweeping sleeves like bat wings. What was far more unusual was what she'd brought to the contest. The sun catcher was a gleaming gold hand holding between it's fingers a brilliant orb of light, as if the sun had quite literally been caught, the gleaming gold – which wasn't metal at all but woven mesh of spirit thread – drank in and was suffused by the light of both the orb and actual sunbeams as from the wrist sprouted long limbs capped with gleaming beads in bright colors. Blue and red. Green and orange. Yellow and brown. These beads seemed almost like round bottles, the light pouring into the and forming shapes of landscapes, animals and pictures and casting them onto nearby surfaces in something like reverse shadow theater. The pictures shaped by the brilliance rather than the shadow, changing every time a new person looked into the depth of the beads. The creation itself an artist, eager to perform it's dance of lights and shadows to anyone that cared to watch. And that'd been the point. Lanlans self-possessed daffodil thread wove with Blaire's own artistic coral hue to create sunlight gold. The joy of creation and artistry almost unfiltered. A color for playing the music of the planets and painting with the rays of the sun. The vampire didn't go out of her way to draw attention, letting her creation do the talking as it were.

Mathollak strolls into the Enchantment market with a bundle tied to a stick over his shoulder, looking like he just ran away from home. From his secret-sourced Delisha-swag market, he has a new button up to replace the one Reginae ruined; and it might even be better! It’s bodacious magenta jellyfish against a half black and half rose colored background. He’s got longer pants today, to cover up some acid scars, they end in a tattered fringe just above his ankles, and then his faux-vintage skipper style boat shoes, that are even too hipster for Leoxander to wear, probably. For some reason he apparently decided that while acid scars on his legs are unattractive, they should be flaunted on his face. On one side of his cheek there was a complex lattice-work, forming a pattern not unlike tree roots to begin at the start of his chin, then fan out until it stops under his eye. Maybe it wasn’t done healing? Maybe this is as good as it gets. If you ask him though, he’d say it looks ‘cool’. But he has to set up his suncatcher. The effects couldn’t be complete if the sunlight just bounced back onto the ground, so his entourage of minions (who have been attached to him for several days now), plant down in his claimed spot a large barrel. They pull a cork out of the side. Almost instantly, a dry, lavender scented mist begins to spill out of it. It’s dense, and sinks below the air for the most part, disappearing the barrel and most people’s legs. Mathollak then pulls off the tablecloth concealing his submission, gives it a spin, and plants the stick into the ground so it hangs over the barrel of smoke. His suncatcher appears to be nearly spherical, except that its comprised of many many equal sized squares of glass. It’s essentially a disco ball. EXCEPT that there are in fact tiny little paintings on each little facet. When refracted against the wall, the light becomes a technicolor visage of a reveler. But there are hundreds of facets! NO! Thousands, and each one has a reveler, or the same one in a slightly different position. When someone steps into his harmless cloud, it creates the sensation that you’re in a party in the clouds. Full of drunken satyrs and men and women having a wild time. The bouncy, jovial, swinging music Mathollak’s minions plays also helps.

Talyara took the construction of her suncatcher very seriously. Not just because her sister, the hostess extraordinaire of Lithrydel, was a co host but because this was a celebration of the solstice, one of the most important holidays to a witch. She had designed, begun construction, and deconstructed many prototypes. She was trying to be extra and over the top, something to show she put her all into it. In the end, nothing seemed to reflect who she was; she was a simple witch who wasn’t into grandeur or luxury. So she set about just finding things within her home that would reflect who she was. The younger witch was flying solo today, no silver haired enigma at her side. She wore a pretty sundress that fell to her knees, the flowy fabric of the skirt painted with large sunflowers on a white background while the black, strapless bodice clung to her chest and midsection, the sweetheart neckline accentuating her curves rather tastefully. A simple pair of black, strappy sandals adorned her feet and her voluminous curls had been tamed in a messy bun atop her head. Talyara carried her suncatcher in her hands, a geometric prism terrarium meant to house tropical plants that contained a single aura quartz hung from the highest point on a colorless thread, suspended amongst the glass. Because of the glass of the terrarium, even the slightest bit of light refracted in the crystal and caused dozens of rainbows to reflect from all the surfaces. But that wasn’t all, Taly used denser, more colorful cords, to hang down from the terrarium itself, knotted cages holding a variety of other crystals to match the rainbows the aura quartz threw off–pink rose quartz, purple amethyst, green emerald, blue lapis lazuli, orange carnelian, yellow citrine. It wasn’t as large or as fancy as some of the other suncatchers, but Talyara was pleased all the same and hung it up proudly in the designated area on a tree limb. She continued to walk through the market area, taking in all the sights and sounds of the various vendors before pausing to listen to Penelope’s speech. Taly cheered for both her fellow healer and her sister before moving towards a familiar group of Kelvarian witches.

Alvina weaves her way through the crowded market with careful steps. She’d already been here earlier, helping the Vinabre booth get everything set up. Since Brennia was on vacation, it had fallen back on a lot of the students but they were happy to have an easy summer job so Alvina didn’t fret about it too much. She’s wearing a black sundress speckled with sunflowers, simple black sandals and a sunflower clip to hold up her hair. A casual, summer favorite. She’d left the cosmetic booth to fetch her children, which will no doubt terrorize every booth and possibly person occupying the market. Harper and Luna, the oldest siblings and twins, have the unpleasant job of assisting Alvina in keeping Meadow (the youngest and also shifted into a dog because she’s like this) and Bryce (the middle child and only boy) out of trouble.

Mesdoram strides into the enchantment market with a sense of pride as he looks at all the future 2nd place winner in this contest. “Fools… they completely underestimated what I am bringing to the table. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to humiliate and absolutely remind you imbeciles who’s in charge here.” These words, while spoken internally, express themselves vibrantly with Mesdoram’s signature smile adorning his face. Wasting no more time to peacock his dominance over his lesser competition, the drow produces his earthly elemental brand and locates the centermost vantage point of the festivities – and boy, does he find the most inconvenient spot that will force everyone to gaze at his greatness. As the crowd clears due to the uncertainty of Mes’ intentions (i.e. his sword drawn), the drow draws a perfect dirt circle 12 yards in diameter around his feet. Putting his sword back in its sheathe and standing in the center of the circle, Mesdoram ‘T-poses’ with his hands facing skyward. “Ladies and Gentlemen! Dolts at and Morons! I have done the impossible!” At that moment, a convenient ray of sunshine peaks through the clouds and cascades down upon Mesdoram’s tiny form; at the feeling of the warmth in his alabaster hair, the drow closes his eyes and lifts his head upwards. “I have captured the sun! I am the suncatcher! I… AM… THE ONE!! Compare your exhibits to me and consider your creations irrelevant!” Just like plants and mighty trees, Mesdoram stands stoic and soaks in all of the sun… and looks of ‘admiration’ from his peers.

(Post 1 of 2) Alvina urges Luna to take her suncatcher entry to the designated hanging area. It’s a simple piece composed mostly of stained glass. Little paw print - bulbed flowers have been shaped by corresponding colors of glass, their green stems weaving together in the form of a giant sunflower. Some of the details have been painted by Harper. Bryce’s contribution is the hanger that holds it up. It’s spotted with asymmetrical jewel patterns the girl’s had picked out but he felt cool using the heating element to put them on. Meadow’s licked it several times to make it shinier. Having kids is amazing.

(Post 2 of 2) Alvina releases her children into the wild to greet the two beautiful hostesses. “You both look stunning.” The sunflower theme is brilliant, a lot of people are also decked out in bright and earthy tones. “Penelope, your crown is so lovely and detailed, it really brings out the color of your eyes and your cute freckles.” And it’s without a doubt true. As a woman with freckles, Alvina knows these things. “Lana, you look like a princess with that dress.” Matching sunflower accessories also catch the eye.

Mesdoram will maintain his pose until the announcement of his inevitable victory. Though, as he peers around to see the other participants work, he begins wondering if he misunderstood the assignment... nevertheless, he will see this through to the end.

Kanna rises from her miniature booth to move towards the bonfire. She wonders if those in Enchantment knew that this element was similar to one her own people had as the commotion and bustle of excited children kicks off. Looking at the paper in her hand, she speaks to herself softly enough as to not draw attention to herself. "Did you ever think of me after you went to solve the next great mystery? Did you find happiness or peace? If so, I hope you'll give me a sign one day. There was so much more I wanted to talk with you about." The paper, with just a name written in her native language on it so that others would not be able to discern it, is tossed into the fires. The paper pops into pale lavender fires, the violet embers of which rise and mingle into the other embers of the fire. Satisfied, Kanna returns to her seat.

Lanara admires everyone suncatcher’s and knows that the competition is going to be stiff! Alvina approaches and compliments her dress and Lana laughs and pulls her into a hug, “Thank you. But -you- look divine! And your kids seem to love the flower crowns!” She affectionately ruffles the hair of the middle child, “There’s pony rides over there, too, you know! Milkshake is posing for drawings with the kids.” Lana winks at Alvina and leaves Penelope’s side to mingle amongst the crowd. The first to capture her attention is Talyara and the Kelvarian refugees from their homeland. Each witch is pulled into a loving embrace and told they look lovely, but it’s her sister that she tugs aside, “How are you holding up?” Lana and Taly have exchanged many letters since her home in Frostmaw had been destroyed -again- but it seems that she doesn’t have the desire to rebuild this time. “When are you moving closer to me, Sister?”

Penelope looks at the people parting to go hang their sun catchers. She is almost mesmerized by a disco ball and a drow who is soaking in the rays. Maybe he was taking the endorphins comment literally? She blinks before Alvina reels her back into reality. A smile beams, "Thank you! And thanks for coming! And I see you have your booth open! One of these days, I need to find a new nude lipstick" She kind of sways. "And your kiddos have sweet little sun catchers! I love it!"

Talyara smiled brightly when Lanara approached the small group of witches from their homeland. It had been a rough couple of weeks and the sisters had been in close correspondence. The younger witch gives her sister a squeeze and holds her shoulders as she examines her attire. “You look gorgeous as always,” she said with a chuckle. Her smile and amusement tempered when Lana asked how she was hoping up but she nodded her head. “It could have been a lot worse so I am counting my blessings. Hopefully I -will- be moving closer to you soon. Krice and I have been talking about it.” She paused and looked around the market once more. “You and Nel did a fantastic job, of course. You always have the best turnouts, Miss Popular!”

Alvina || Bryce doesn’t waste a single second after Lanara says there’s milkshakes. He’s misunderstood that it’s not an actual milkshake he’s going to find. Meadow is on his heels, yipping because she wants to see the ponies but literally she can’t ride them unless she stops being a dog. Harper and Luna follow but Luna grabs a few accessories from the crown making booth to work on while they mind their younger siblings.Alvina mouths a quick ‘thank you’ to Lana for dispelling the children before one. “Of course, I wouldn’t miss it.” She smiles warmly, digging her pocket for a lipstick that is magically a shade Penelope might like. “Whoa how did this get here?” She hands it to Penelope, raising a single finger to her lips in a ‘hush hush’. “They worked really hard on it but they have short attention spans.” Kids, am I right? “Don’t let me keep you, I’ll catch up with you guys later.” The bard rests a hand on Penelope’s shoulder before moving away to let the other woman socialize.

Penelope 's mouth parts at the lipstick that is pulled out of the red head's pocket. "You don't have to--" a soft smirk rests on her face as she takes the peachy, brown nude that almost has a soft reddish tint. "Thank you." She gets the low-key aspect before snorting at the mention of her children. "Well, enjoy the festivities!" She would wave at the bard before moving onto the bonfire to go scratch and toss her own wish into the flames.

Leoxander hesitated at the edge of designated grounds to scan the market, releasing Loravelle’s hand after a moment so she could be free to roam on ahead and hang her large suncatcher design with the rest. He would have offered to carry the construction for her but she seemed to have the matter under control, and he was issuing himself another dose of medicine before wrapping one of Loravelle’s green head scarves around the lower half of his face, tying it loosely at the back of his head. Leo wasn’t exactly dressed to impress, but for once the rogue wasn’t shrouded in black and leather head to toe. Some worn in denim jeans that didn’t pair that well with the usual heavy combat boots, but the cut was loose and long enough to cover most of the lacing. The faded white tee shirt pulled on over his lucky ‘wifebeater’ seemed to have some design etched on it long ago and it was difficult to make out, now, but it seemed to be a crest with a bird that had seen better days. Strands of loose blonde no longer singed from a short-lived participation in the ongoing tournament fell over blue eyes that took in a scene so colorful it seemed to make them water, but that was probably just the flecks of fae dust in the light breeze. It could have been worse, but thanks for the concoction brewed by Lora’s father, he didn’t announce himself with an attack of loud sneezing. Keen ears caught the pleasantries and compliments ricocheting from person to person and his jaw tightened with a clench of his teeth. Here we go again…

Lanara is elated to hear that Talyara and Krice are considering a move much closer to the Lowell Estate. Perhaps somewhere in Sage Forest? “If you need a good realtor, let me know! I know of one that trusted me with showing Aira and Alvina homes in the area and they both found a home that they love!” She pauses, “Speaking of Alvina, I think she’s over by the ponies with the little ones. I’m sure she’d love to see you!” The popularity comment brings color to Lana’s cheeks but she waves a dismissive hand as though she doesn’t believe the compliment. Taly looks around and so does Lana, admiring the displays, though her eyes narrow as they land on Mesdoram. The drow. The fool from the duel the other night that wanted her to come see his play. Had he -dared- to bring his little play to one of -her- functions?! “Excuse me.” The witch all but stomps over to Mesdoram as he stands there basking in what he assumes is greatness. “You’re blocking the sun! Didn’t I tell you that I didn’t want anything to do with your stupid play?” She’s fuming. “People worked -very- hard on these suncatchers and you are making it very difficult to enjoy as you’re casting shadows. Hang your display and be gone.” She has no idea that she just told the drow to go hand -himself- as he -is- the suncatcher he wishes to enter in the contest.

Alvina approaches Kanna’s booth, after throwing her own hastily scribbled wish in the fire nearby. The flame bloomed brilliantly, leaving Alvina to stare quietly. Others around her are making their wishes - Some for luck with love, others for more interesting causes. However, she does hear something of interest before making her way towards Kanna’s shop. She’s intrigued by what she’d overheard by one of the other women nearby. “Sorry, I heard there was a copy of a book on lore here?”

Kanna cocks her head to the side as people stop to stare at Mesdoram. Seeing that no one is currently at her stall, the bard rises and moves to study the drow. "Performance art?" She questions, leaning in to study his face. Reaching into her satchel, Kanna withdraws a book. "I think someone with an appreciation for the arts would enjoy this. No charge for-- oh, I suppose you can't hold this... Here!" Kanna stands on her tiptoes and places the book atop Mesdoram's head to help shield the sun beaming down on him.

Kanna comes back just in time to see Alvina approach. "Ah. Yes, there is. It's a beautiful story, it's a little short, but any records of what happened before or after this weren't on record in the Royal Libraries." Kanna reaches into her satchel, handing Alvina a copy.

Lanara said to Kanna, "Don't encourage him, Dear."

Alvina takes the copy with a smile. She’s a fan of beautiful stories, even if they have bittersweet endings. “How much do I owe you?”

Loravelle may still feel a little out of her element even after visiting a handful of these gatherings, but she's getting better at it. Instead of partly hiding herself behind Leo's larger frame or holding his hand or forearm in some sort of death grip like she might in a crowd in the past, she's walking right beside him after setting up her sun catcher. Her initial thought was to scurry off to make a sun catcher after finding something to drink for Leo and herself, but after hearing Penelope mention ponies, then glimpsing them herself, well... “I'm gonna go over there.” Did that mean she was leaving Leo by himself? Probably, if he didn't intend on tagging along. She digs in that bag of pixie dust allergy potions for a flask of whiskey to give to Leo, and she's off, waving at Lanara and Alvina as she hurries by and sees them, too fixated on ponies to actually stop and say hello. She has her eyes on a sweet looking brown mare with a black mane and is grateful she made the decision to keep herself extra modest by wearing a pair of tan leggings beneath that dress of hers. She's going riding.

Penelope said to Lanara, "Lana," she comes after scribbling out a couple dreams and tossing the tiny paper in the flames. "It might be my fault. I told them to bask in sun rays to make them happier! Leave the guests alone!"

Talyara looked towards the pony rides where she spied the red headed bard, sporting a similar dress to her own. She turned back to say something to Lana but she’s stomping off and the little witch merely shrugged–she didn’t want to be on the other end of that! Taly meandered over to the ponies and tapped Alvina on the shoulder. “Hi!”

Mesdoram, still as a statue, watches and listens to Kanna's words and admiration for his obvious superiority over these plebs. As she places the book upon his beautiful head, the drow vaguely remembers who Kanna is. "That's that one who flirted with me and I did nothing... she must be becoming a fan of me..." He intends to read all of her book and was going to act 'too cool for school' with her, but Kanna had already scooted aways just as Mesdoram thought of a cool line. Dang it, now he's conflicted now...

Alvina sees Loravelle’s wave and greets her with the same as Lora rushes towards the horses. Luna catches sight of Loravelle’s dress and audibly gasps before rushing over to Lora to tell her it’s the cutest thing she’s ever seen and begging her to tell her where she got it.

Alvina nods calmly to Kanna. “You know, I happen to agree.” She pulls out an approximate amount of coin and offers it to Kanna with a grateful smile. “Thank you very much. I can’t wait to read it.” Before Alvina has a chance to move away, she’s tapped on the shoulder by a familiar face. Alvina turns with a gasp to see Talyara and hugs her immediately when she sees her. “I heard about your cottage! I’m so glad you’re okay. Where are you staying? Do you need a place? My house in the Sage is almost done, you’re more than welcome to stay.”

Mesdoram stares at Lanara and smiles as she begins to become more flustered. "Don't you see, madam... I am the sun. You cannot challenge a celestial being without getting burned." He cocks his head as Lanara seems to be preoccupied at the moment, but continues his taunts from afar. "That's right. You walk away, but like the catcher of the sun... and with my gravitational pull... you'll all be back." A couple of elven women begin giggling at Mesdoram's smooth lines, and he nods back at them. "Ladies..."

Lanara cannot believe that Mesdoram is standing there, with a book upon his head, talking to her about how he once flirted with Kanna. This performing art act is getting old and Lana extends her arms and is about to wrap her tiny hands around the drows neck and physically move him away from the displays, when she’s intercepted. Penelope is claiming that Mesdoram suffers from some sort of mental affliction and is obviously in need of some Vitamin D. Of course she’d invite a patient to this shindig! “Fine. Enjoy your D. You get fifteen minutes.” Lana scowls and returns to mingling with those in the area. Loravelle passes and waves and the witch excitedly waves in return as she is fond of the newly engaged woman. “So glad you could make it!” Is that Leo?! She can’t believe he’s attended such an event as he endlessly complained about his allergies after the last one. His eyes are tearing up and she gives him a nod and touches her hand to her heart. He’s getting emotional! Perhaps he should soak up the sun with Mesdoram!

Talyara chuckled as Alvina immediately pulled her into a tight embrace which was naturally returned just as enthusiastically. She appreciated the bard’s concern, but she was fine. “Thank you, you’re the sweetest, but I’m okay. Krice has another place.” She didn’t go into details, anyone who knew the warrior knew he liked his privacy. “But I think it’s time to retire,” the cottage that is. “This is the third time it’s been destroyed so it’s probably time to move on. I was thinking about coming back down to Sage possibly? Also, a little birdie–” Named Lanara– “told me you are in the cosmetics business now! Congratulations! That sounds like fun!”

Loravelle , if she were any good at being rude, might've brushed off Luna and said something along the lines of, 'can't talk right now, there are horses,' but she simply can't do that. Besides, Luna seems to be a child, and you can't be mean to children. By this point, she's just about to swing herself up onto the saddle of the mare she's claimed, internally complaining that there's a saddle on the creature's back in the first place, but she stops to answer the girl. Her face feels a little warm because of that gasp and compliment. “I'm...well, one of my sisters bought it...” She isn't sure where her sister bought it, and frowns. “I want to say somewhere in Gualon or Kelay....Crialla's shop there is really nice!” It didn't feel great being so unhelpful to the girl, but hopefully that was enough information for Luna to go on a hunt for a dress just like it. With that, she swings herself onto the horse's back and takes the mare on a little trot around the area, if only to get familiar with her first. The real fun must begin later.

Mathollak gave 1 copper to Kanna. Mathollak said to Kanna, "I agree."

Kanna raises an eyebrow with a quirked smile and holds a book out for Mathollak. "I'm surprised you're walking so soon after you put on such a good show for me and Delisha." She says, referencing the Vailkrin tournament.

Alvina laughs, a little embarrassed and humbled that Lanara is promoting her business. “Oh yes! I saved some samples for you both from the Charity Bazaar in Cenril.” She digs into her pockets and pulls out a combo case to offer to Talyara. “I wasn’t sure you’d be here but I have another gift to give you afterwards.” Alvina won’t pry about the location, she’s just glad they are both safe! “You really should! We can all get together and have cook outs or tea. It’d be nice to see more of you.”

Alvina || Luna nods like she’s committing every word Lora’s saying to memory. “Thank you magical fairy lady!” She calls when Lora jumps on a pony literally like the most graceful woman she’s ever seen.

Talyara isn’t someone who wears a lot of makeup usually but of course she’s going to support her friends and wear it now! She accepted the makeup pack and smiled brightly. “Thanks!” The mention of another gift has the witch tilting her head to the side. “Wha–you didn’t need to get me anything!” As a gift giver herself, Taly was known to be awkward when being on the receiving end of them. “Cookouts and tea would be nice!” The thought of Krice’s grumpy face at a tea party makes her giggle. “Yes it would be good to see you more often as well. I’m afraid Frostmaw has alienated me from most people.”

Meri arrives with the intention of making a brief appearance, since resides fairly close to Enchantment. Meri was here sans Magik or Fleur, but that was fine. Everyone needs a bit of me time, eh? Anyway, Meri just wanted to say a few hellos, see what the event was about, if there was anything fun to buy, etc etc.

Alvina can’t imagine Tiber would be too thrilled to attend a tea party unless sweets were present. “Lanara was just telling me some things and I couldn’t help myself. Forgive me! Stay right here, I’ll grab it now.” Alvina also thinks the image of Krice at a tea party is somewhat hilarious but she puts a big sunhat on him in her mind and it’s perfect. The bard bolts off, deciding it needs to be done now to avoid any anxiety on Talyara’s end, and returns a little out of breath with a broom in hand. The broom bears etchings of various animals and has a sleek black handle. On the edge of the broom are three charms; a witches hat, a snowflake, and a labradorite skull. “Lanara said there had been some accidents or issues with your brooms so…I hope it’s okay?

Loravelle 's face turns beet red at that. Magical fairy lady? Her?! Why, she's...She has to slow that mare down to a stop at that compliment and look out over everybody nearby. Lora is very much under the impression that she's the most plain of the bunch, but here she is getting the sweetest compliment from the sweetest girl ever. If Lora knew Luna was Alvina's daughter, she'd know exactly why this child was sweet as can be. Why couldn't her own nephew be this kind? “T-thank you...” Her eyes are misty. Hopefully nobody notices while she gets that horse moving again. She wonders if the mare has a name already...

Mathollak said to Kanna, "are you kidding? Loving embraces like the one Reginae gave me only make Delishas lovers stronger." And then they sleep for three days. "Yep, never better."

Mesdoram is something fun and could possibly be for sale... If Meri is willing to pay. The drow waves at Meri just to remind her that Mesdoram is here being cool.

Mathollak said to Alvina, "What's with the brooms? Spring cleaning is so last season."

Alvina said to Mathollak, "You know how women are, we love our cleaning accessories." And it's kind of true, she's sorry, but if she could have a magical broom clean her kitchen, she'd die.

Lita is late to the party, per usual fashion. Just as well, since she didn't get a chance to steal a suncatcher design from Lora to enter into the contest. She catches sight of the Mouse on horseback as she's shouting out trivia answers and she offers a brisk whistle as she trots the mare about. "Showoff." She teases.

Talyara could now only think about having a lovely tea party in Sage and having all the menfolk attend. Perhaps they could do that prank where they make said men wear matching shirts. Hilarity would ensue (at least for the ladies). Alvina darted off to get her other gift and the witch distracted herself by focusing on the ponies. The bard is quick and is soon handing over the most beautiful broom she has ever seen, and so personal to her with the charms, Taly felt tears brimming her eyes. “It’s…it’s perfect!” She sniffled and threw her arms around Alvina and gave her a squeeze. The past couple of weeks had been hard and she had lost practically everything she owned. “You are too good a friend to me!”

Lanara walks past the ponies and see’s Loravelle on the back of one, having the time of her life. She smiles and walks over to the vendors and sees Kanna and Alvina each tending to their booths. The witch spies the cover of a fairytale book and she’s pleased to learn that she already covets a copy. Next, Lana heads over to the bonfire and scribbles a wish onto a scrap of parchment before she tosses it into the flames. Her eyes close for a moment in thought and when she opens them she sees Meri. “Hey! I’m so glad that you could make it!” It’s a shame she didn’t bring Fleur as there’s face painting and pony rides, “I’m sad your little girl isn’t here. But! Feel free to make her a flower crown to take home.”

Alvina almost bursts into tears too because she’s just super good at crying or overly emotional or both. She would love this idea of making all the men folk match, all of the men folk being Tiber and Krice. Alvina’s down a husband at the moment. “No way, I won’t hear a second of that.” It seemed like the perfect time. “I’m so glad the timing worked out.” She wonders if Lanara’s mentioned anything about the orphanage in Cenril yet, but there’ll be time enough for that at a later date. Bryce, her middle child, complains loudly to his mother. “That lady said there were milkshakes!” before stomping off to terrorize his older sisters.

Loravelle doesn't know where this confidence has come from, but it's probably the horse. She has to hide her laugh at Lita's tease. She's actually having a good time at one of these things. An incredible time. Horse power is strong.

Loravelle said to Mathollak, "Horse Power is strong."

Meri had only just started to take a look around the event when Lanara spotted her and took a moment to greet her. An easy smile curves at Meri's red lips, "Glad I was able to find a moment to drop in and see what you've planned. It looks fun."

Alvina || Luna is practically screaming at Harper, shaking her when Lora gets all these answers right. "I TOLD YOU SHE WAS A FAIRY BRO."

Lanara smiles and motions to all the chaos around them, “Thank you, Meri! So far everyone seems to be having a good time. There’s a bonfire for casting wishes, a display of suncatchers, good food and drink, all that fun stuff! Tiber sat this event out.” She smirks as there are only a handful of men in attendance, not that she blames them. It -is- a bit tailored to summer, beauty, and femininity. “We still want to have you and Magik over for dinner soon, too!”

Leoxander usually felt out of place at those events. This one seemed to plant him right back into that awkward phase as he looked for either a booth to buy brew or a place to lean or sit. Preferably both, though he wasn’t certain how well those beverages could be trusted, considering the way those enchantment folk laced everything with death dust. Mostly the rogue was just observing, people watching, and for once not to get a sense on how heavy their pockets might be. Hearing Lora’s voice among the crowd answering trivia, he swept his gaze across the two coordinators briefly, trying not to make eye contact with Lanara since she was probably still upset with him. Meri’s entrance was one he would follow with his eyes before he caught sight of Lita arriving, too, all the while digging into a pocket for that wooden case of mellowing herb hand-rolled in thin hemp parchment, placing one between his lips.

Alvina || Harper spots Meri and also her sister is being insane so she excuses herself to approach the Psion quietly. “Hey, thanks again for those archery lessons. Can we do it again sometime? My mom said you were a great teacher.”

Talyara recognized that Alvina had her hands full with all the children and all, and Bryce seemed particularly angry about the lack of milkshakes (a noble complaint if the witch said so herself). “Go, we’ll talk soon! And thank you again!” Taly hugged the broom to her chest and moved towards the bonfire where she could write a wish and cast it into the flames.

Alvina rushes an apology to Talyara. “Yes soon!” She promises the witch before going to keep her angsty teenager son from ruining someone’s day.

Lita offers a smile as she catches sight of the pirate looking for some escape route. The familiar tin of smokes has her reaching out a hand in the universal request of 'share, please'. She'll probably make some quip about the fact that there's face painting nearby and how he's a pretty butterfly.

Kanna has slipped away from her shaded booth at some point, and is just now returning with a bouquet of flowers to weave into a crown while the festival goers enjoy their small talk.

Leoxander had to draw down Lora's scarf around his throat to do so. So now he just has that extra touch of pretty.

Alvina || Meadow’s, the youngest Landon that is also shifted into a dog for reasons unfathomed, has decided that this dude (Mathollak) looks cool and starts following him around weirdly.

Xiembantointh arrives late because work ran a little long at the site and he had not even had the chance to change out of his simple tee shirt looking a little dirty and well-worn denim slacks. Azure hues scan the crowd until he finds Lita and he instantly smiles while excusing himself around people to reach her. After planing a kiss on her cheek and draping his arm around her shoulders in a hug, he says, "hey, Lita."

Alvina || Bryce’s first victim looks like it’s Blaire, who he stops near and scowls at. “It’s a jillion degrees, what are you wearing?” Alvina catches up to him a second after with a horrified expression on her face. She takes Bryce by the shoulders. "I'm so sorry, I really just - I am so sorry. Bryce, say you're sorry!"

Mathollak searches his bags for something a puppy might like. Mathollak finds his own hair brush and starts brushing the baby's fluffs.

Alvina || Meadow immediately accepts the brushes and rolls all over the ground, which does not help her stay clean but whatever. She’s a dog, she doesn’t care. At some point, though, she gets too excited and starts trying to chew on the brush.

Meri eyes Leoxander for a moment because of the way his gaze seems to follow her, at least until Lita arrives. There is a slight lift of the brow before Meri waves to the pirate. Shortly after though, she disappears into the crowd.

Leoxander had the booklet of matches Loravelle had supplied him and was about to strike one, but he paused as he watched the silver-haired man from Lita’s shop weave the crowd toward them. His sense of smell was muddled with all the flowers and stuffiness from the pixie dust, but he was almost positive that it was the same scent he’d caught onto a few nights ago. Passing one of those smokes Lita’s way should she still take it, he finally the end and held it there in his mouth, offering to light the vampire’s from the same match before he shook the flame out. A nod given to Xiembantointh, he exhaled a deep drag taken and let his gaze shift across the crowd again, checking on Loravelle’s position protectively from time to time.

Alvina || Harper got distracted by the questions being yelled and turns back to find Meri gone. Her idle vanished, Harper kicks rocks back to Luna by the ponies. It’s only when she gets there that she realizes Meadow AND Bryce are gone. “Luna what the heck!?”

Loravelle decides that she's ponied out for now and is a little guilty for essentially abandoning Leo to ride a horse. She slides off of the pony's back and weaves her way through the crowd back to the rogue and Lita as well, grinning not only from the pony ride but also because she's happy to see the tattoo artist. “Hi!”

Penelope is in panic since people keep staring at the sun. She looks left, right, and left again until a nearby vendor yells about fresh tea, and then she's moving on to get herself a cup.

Lita loops her arm around Xiem in a familiar hug. "You're late." She complains at him. He didn't really need to know that she'd just gotten there herself. She takes the offered light from Leo but says nothing for the look he's giving the dragon. "If you go blind, you're not gonna be very good at building things." She says as he comments about staring at the sun. "You're gonna have to resort to music." She makes a face at the thought, teasing him some as she inhales smoke from the pirate's cigarette. Maybe she should follow his lead and look for some booth selling liquor.

Xiembantointh catches on to the blonde haired guy next to Lita and a joyous grin spreads across his bearded face while extending a hand for a shake, "I saw your duel. You were great, man. Name is Xiem," and then someone is scolding him for his awful joke. "Penny! Hey, you. How are ya?" His infectious joy is aimed at her and he offers a friendly wave.

Lanara steps over to the ballot box and begins to count the votes. Once her tallying is complete, she scribbles a name down on a piece of paper and folds it. Smiling, Lana waits for Penelope before the bonfire so that they can announce the winner. The slip of paper is slid into the healer’s hands and the witch tries to shush those in their nearest proximity so that everyone can hear.

Lita said to Loravelle, "Where's all this confidence in literally any other setting??"

Eleanor was taking quite a risk in coming to this shindig as herself, but there she was — cerulean leathers, rune-painted skin warm in hue from many recent days under the summer sun, the iron crown resting low on her brow. Even the inky black stain that marred her left arm nearly to her shoulder was not disguised in any way. As she explored the gathering, she made a point not to try and meet anyone's gaze, and kept her usually sticky fingers to herself save occasionally raking them through her flaxen hair, which was left long and loose with a singular braid woven in just behind her left ear.

Blaire didn't seem particularly bothered by it,"The sun hurts my eyes." She said, simply. Bypassing the apologies by simply not addressing them. Whoever heard of a vampire being good with kids?

Alvina sees Xiem making rounds with Lita and can’t say hi to them because she yelled at Xiem a lot the last time she saw him so it’s too embarrassing but she looks at Lita in a way that she hopes uses enough telepathy to say ‘hi’.

Loravelle said to Lita, "I...I don't know. I just. I know stuff, and read a lot..." Loravelle feels all shy and embarrassed now and her face is turning red again. She's been found out. She's a nerd.

Penelope pauses wherever she is, as she senses it is time for the votes to be in for the suncatcher contest. Mostly because Lanara is waving her towards her direction. Politely, to a tea vendor, she says in a very sweet, “Excuse me. Gotta hold that thought,” before she parts through the crowd–olive lace flowing with the light summer breeze. Her tea cup in her hand is dumped back in a quick… maybe too hot, slurp! “Ouch–ow!” She spits some out, but wants to at least get somewhat of a taste and swallows the rest. Her chest burns, and the girl sucks in some air to cool down her mouth before traveling to the center bonfire where the votes are being cast. Once Lanara is ready to pass the piece of paper with the winner of the contest, Penelope would clear her throat and give a big wave towards the crowd’s direction. All the buzzing in the area comes to a mild slow. “Everyone gather! Everyone brought wonderful pieces that catch the light, but the votes are in! We do, in fact, have a winner!” A content smile rests on freckled, rosy features. “Our winner today will be winning a miniature collectable of their suncatcher -and- their suncatcher will be hung above the entrance of Enchantment as a signature piece until the Winter Solstice!” With giddiness, the girl’s eyes scan the scratch on the parchment. “And our winner is… Kanna! Congratulations on your beautifully crafted suncatcher! You really represented Enchantment with those pixies, and clearly the votes showed! Yay!” She claps.

Lita offers Alvina a wink in greeting. She'd been needing to snag the woman sometime, but she always seemed to have her hands full!

Kanna drops her flower-crown, a blush rising to her face.

Talyara clapped and cheered for Kanna who was announced the winner of the suncatcher contest. "Wooo!"

Xiembantointh guffaws at Lita's joke, holding his side, "no, no way. No one wants that. Just because I can strum a few chords doesn't mean I should," he quirks a brow up at her smoking a cigarette. Does he disapprove? Finally, he takes a look around and spots Alvina before waving her a jovial hello as if nothing even happened before. Then he notices Loravelle blushing and he doesn't even know the girl, but he replies to her embarrassment with, "that is great. My youngest loves reading as well. She likes to say her favorite hobby is staring at the tattoos of dead trees and hallucinating which is her unique way of calling it reading," he then holds his hand out to her for a hand shake as she is in the little group with Lita and Leoxander. "Name is Xiem, nice to meet you."

Alvina || Luna is clapping for Kanna when Harper reaches her and screams. "OMG." Alvina's pulling Bryce away from Blaire, but he's pretty easy to pull now. Bryce is disappointed that there's been no real reaction from the cool person. Maybe he should start wearing shades. Luna and Harper run over to Alvina in a panic because they failed at their jobs and lost everyone. Meadow gives up on trying to destroy Mathollak's hairbrush and wants to know what her family is doing. Alvina literally can't and is at capacity. "Everyone to the carriage. NOW." This was easier when she had a husband.

Blaire rolled her eyes at the result like a sarcastic teenager. Pixie pandering.

Leoxander returned his attention to Xiem after noticing the Mouse dismount the pony, weighing over the thought on whether his compliment was sarcastic or not. The builder didn’t seem to be the type to twist a knife in, so the rogue just nodded his unspoken thanks, leaning back against a convenient tree without a wince since the wound on his back had been stitched and mended; a quick repair with his regenerative blood. “Leo.” He returned an introduction with his name low spoken. His gaze moved back and forth between Lita and her companion but he didn’t go so far as to question their relationship. That wasn’t his business until his friend and neighbor made it known. Attention drawn briefly by the announcement and a brief look shifting Kanna’s way, at least until the book keeper was close enough for him to murmur a ‘request’. “I need a drink…” Hopefully she had those emergency flasks on her person.

Lanara wonders if Penelope’s alright as she’s trying to suck in air to cool off the burning sensation of the tea. As Kanna is announced the winner, Lana loudly applauds with everyone else, “It’s so beautiful! You did an amazing job on designing the suncatcher!”

Lita said to Leoxander, "Looks like you need a pony."

Lita is ignoring this look from Xiem that may or may not have been disapproval at her smoking. Old habits. She turns her head away from him to exhale smoke as he makes introductions and greetings with those he knows. He's far more social than she is.

Lita said to Loravelle, "Did you make Leo buy you a flower crown yet?"

Loravelle missed the winner of the contest being named, but claps along with everyone else since she highly doubted it was hers. Glass sun catchers outshone paper ones, but she still had a delightful time making hers. Instead she looks to Xiem, producing a timid smile for the stranger. His words are reassuring, and she reaches to shake his hand. “L-Lora...” Is this Lita's friend? Her brows raise at the tattoo artist as she retracts her hand, but her attention quickly settles on Leo. Drink? Gotcha. She digs through her bag for a flask to hand over to him. “Whiskey,” she murmurs.

Loravelle said to Lita, "I didn't! I should." She glances at him and his blonde hair. "Daisies might look nice..."

Xiembantointh steals Lita's cigarette whenever it lingers on her lips. Is he going to toss it away? Nope, he briefly connects it to his own lips for a quick drag before gently returning it to Lita's lips while the smoke lazily lingers out from the corner of his mouth.

Lita is wondering if the daisies are for Lora or Leo. "Maybe something with more color?" She offers with a grin. "Mums would be pretty. Or violets, even."

Loravelle agrees with Lita. “Why not all three? With a big sunflower on top...” She avoids looking at Leo as she says this because he's absolutely gonna kill her.

Lita narrows dark eyes at Xiem when he snags that cigarette, maybe mentally prepared for a fight about it. Luckily she doesn't have to say anything but she still gives him a look. "You want a flower crown?" She offers him finally.

Lita points at Lora with her suggestion, because she is clearly a genius. "This, I like this plan."

Xiembantointh glances from Lora to Leo and then to Lita as he sincerely asks, "are you going to buy me a flower crown?" He doesn't care how silly that just sounded coming out of a tall old looking guy like himself.

Leoxander gave Lita a fairly flat look as he opened that flask and took a couple pulls before he had to pause, turn his head into the bend of a tattooed arm, and tried to muffle and shield his first sneeze of the night. With Jiang’s potion, his allergy wasn’t debilitating, but it was still affecting him enough that his sun-spotted nose was a bit red and he’d sniff or clear his throat now and then. “Thought we were mates, you an’ I…” He muttered at Lita when she not only mentioned the pony but the flower crown. The things a man would do for love. Well, most men. One more drink and he placed the cigarette end back between his lips to have both hands free to close up that flask and tuck it away against his spine, because he was going to need to keep that on hand to survive the solstice event.

Eleanor fished into her runed, arcane belt and withdrew a flask, metal with leather wrappings and a strange sigil burned into them. With a quick flick of her thumb and forefinger, she undid the cap and helped herself to the potent mix she'd distilled herself, thereafter tucking it back into that magic belt. A moment later, she had pulled out her tin of handrolled cigarettes. Summoning a small blue spark in her palm, she lit one and returned the case to its secret pocket. There were so many faces here, familiar faces, faces that haunted her nightmares and daydreams, that clouded up her memory. She took a long drag of the cigarette and lingered near the edge of the crowd.

Lanara links her arm through Penelope’s and smiles, “We had quite the turn out, I’d say!” She beams with pride as her dark eyes trail from the display of suncatchers, to the vendor area, the food stalls, the crackling bonfire, and finally to the area where people are making crowns and riding ponies. “We make a good team, Nel!”

Penelope turns when Lanara's arm loops through her own. "I think so!" Her mouth was beginning to feel numb on part of the pallet. Stinkin' tea. "I had fun! This was good!"

Lita offers the rogue a smile. "Hey, at least in my version you get to pick your own flowers?" She wasn't sure that made it better, but you know. "And come on, you got her puppies." Using that term loosely. "Are ponies really so much more a bother? Stick it in a stable, let her ride it now and then, buy her bags of sugar cubes on occasion." As if Lora wouldn't be camped out in a stable stall for a few days with a new pony of her own. "For the horse." She feels the need to clarify. Glancing back at Xiem, she nods about the flower crown. "Yup, I'll let you pick your own flowers too." She grins up at him. "And, we should make a couple to send to Tyres for the littles." She thinks she got that name right, at least. She turns to follow after Lora, heading towards the flower crown crafting area, tugging Xiem with her.

Leoxander squinted his eyes as took one last draw and snubbed the cigarette out against the bark of his companion tree, but the closed mouth cough that followed once he finished it up had nothing to do with the abuse of his lungs. A low curse escaped the pirate before he drew that fancy green fabric back over half his face, gaze sweeping across the lingering crowd with a pause in a particular direction on the edge of the market before Lanara’s voice baited his focus toward the hostesses of the festival. “Well, le’s go make yer crowns, then…” He’d escort Lora and the other pair in that direction if they decided to move that way, but detoured a step closer to Lanara to possibly catch her attention, or maybe just a ‘stay away’ glare.

Xiembantointh drops his arm from around Lita to hold her hand within his so they may follow Lora. He nods with a smile down at Lita, "I think Ty would love that," even though the flowers would surely welt long before they reached the continent he's not, but he didn't have the heart to add that part. Once they sit down, he suggests, "I'll make you one and you can make me one." Then he studies her face for a moment (as if he hasn't done that enough already). He starts to pick out the orange shades of flowers that will complement a sunflower nicely because it will go best with her dark eyes in his opinion. Then he glances over to the couple with them, "have you had them over to see the new deck and fire ring yet?" It seems she is close with them, so why wouldn't she.

Lanara pauses as Leo takes a step close to her on her way to the bonfire and she catches his gaze. Did he come to apologize? She can’t imagine him on a pony. Should she be civil or scowl? Unsure how to act, she simply stares and forces her lips to curve into a friendly smile.

Talyara cheered and whistled for Lanara and Penelope when her sister made her closing speech. She went up to the pair of them and beamed. “You both did an amazing job! Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event!” She had to get going as she had an injured warrior to attend to, so she blew kisses and made her exit (but not before snagging a lavender lemonade flavored tea!).

Loravelle gets to work on her own flower crown first since it looks like Leo is going to chat with Lanara. She quietly hopes that their conversation is a positive one, given the other day... She looks the witch's way and gives an apologetic smile, but quickly refocuses on constructing a crown. "You have a fire ring and a new deck?" She asks Lita, after hearing Xiem's question. She wants to walk the words back quickly afterward for eavesdropping. "I bet it looks great!" Maybe whenever she and Leo had their home built, they'd have a fire ring at least...

Leoxander was sorely tempted to trip Xiem up for just a moment of wishful thinking when he sparked that idea, because now he could bet that Lora was expecting him to participate and make her one. But it was his comment once he settled that drew a look over Leo’s shoulder in the contractor’s direction - he was sure the man was unaware of the rogue’s history with that building, but it had definitely been overdue for repairs. Looking back to Lanara as she seemed prepared to leave, he wasn’t quite sure how to go about the conversation. ‘I’m sorry’ would have been nice, sure, but that would be in direct violation of one of his seven commandments. “Don’t take what I said personal, a’right? I get what you were feelin’. Tiber’s just got a natural talent fer pissin’ me off.” Chalked right up there with his knack for strumming an instrument. He didn’t bother keeping his voice too quiet - the other lycan would probably hear him, one way or another, if he was present. Hopefully he didn’t just flip a card and offend her husband with his attempt to level.

Lita isn't really the host-get-togethers type. If people showed up at the beach house it was usually because someone was bleeding, recuperating, drunk, or Leo. She side-eyes the pirate at this thought as she's weaving together a flower crown for Xiem with every shade of pink she can find. "No?..." she draws the word out a bit. Was she supposed to invite people over for that sort of thing? Leo would probably just complain about 'he would have done it' instead. Or maybe she should give him more credit. She takes another pull on that cigarette before handing the last bit for Xiem if he'd want it. She nods finally at Lora. "Xiem built them as a thank you for his tattoo." She offers. "You'll have to come out and see them. We'll fly kites again!"

Loravelle has to give Lita something as a thank-you for her tattoo, now that she thinks about it. She can't build parts of a home but she can put together some crafty looking home décor, given her sun catcher still hanging up nearby. Maybe Lita might like a sun catcher shaped like a wreath of flowers for her home? “Do you like that sun catcher over there?” She points out hers, uncertain if Lita knew she made it or not. “I want you to have it if you want! And I'd love to fly kites again!” Her eyes bounce between Xiem and Lita, uncertain if her next suggestion might be too presumptuous. She's only just met the guy and didn't want to be nosy about Lita's personal life, so instead of suggesting some sort of double date thing between them, Leo, and herself, she tries something else. “Maybe we could all...hang out together? And cook food? S-since it's a fire ring...” Gosh she felt so silly.

Lanara tucks an unruly strand back into her braided bun and listens to Leo’s attempted apology. He’s not the type to say he’s ‘sorry’ so she doesn’t expect any sort of flattery or groveling to occur. She definitely doesn’t see him blaming her husband for his comment coming, and she scoffs, at first. Lana is known for holding grudges, but she considers Leo to be an ally and his sentiment amuses her because it’s so unpredictable. Plus, she has a bit of a temper, just like the pirate! “We’re cool, Leo. I was irked at the moment because you -know- my fear of snakes, but it’s not a big deal. Besides… You -and- Tiber have talents for ticking me off.” She turns his statement around and gives him one of her signature grins. “Go have fun with Lora and the others! We’ll touch base soon, I’m sure.”

Xiembantointh shrugs with an apologetic grin at her hesitant 'no'. Then he continues weaving the stems together or easing the ends through the holes so nothing would stick out and jab Lita in the head while she wears it. He seems adept with his fingers which is odd for a construction type guy who works with larger tools, but the work he does at creating a beautiful, yet sturdy flower crown so a woman he is starting to have strong feelings for can wear it. The sunflower is the star in the middle, but shades of orange and darker yellows frame it beautifully in a descending fashion on both sides. Out of curiosity he glances to see what Lora's and Leo's crowns look like before finally landing on what Lita was working on. He grins, remembering it matches the tattoo she did for him - it was perfect already. Lora's suggestion is met with an excited expression from Xiem, "that sounds wonderful Lora. I could make some chicken, steak and veggie kabobs. Maybe I'll whip together a fruit salad for dessert," knowing Lita can only taste the sweeter treats.

Leoxander almost forfeit a smirk toward the end of her response but it was covered by the headwrap turned mask. Maybe a hint of a wink with his words “Yeah, but we’re pretty damn good at sneakin’ out of the doghouse an’ back into bed.” Her name and the dismissal to rejoin the group of three brought a glance toward Lora back to Lanara with a nod. “See ya later.” Hands in jean pockets, he backstepped a couple paces before he turned and made his way to the rainbow sea of flowers, picking up one of the lilies along the way to actually smell it. Flask removed from the back of his waistline, he took a seat on the other side of Loravelle and twirled the bell shaped blossom, watching the trio work on their crowns with another sniff against his sinuses.

Lita would have assured Lora that she didn't have to get or give her anything for the tattoo. But she's not a mind reader. She glances at the suncatcher in question and while it hadn't been the one she'd voted for earlier, she nods. All of the suncatchers were creative, after all. "You don't have to give it to me." She's saying, even knowing how insistent the girl can be. "But thank you. It'll look really cute by the back door, near the hammock. Does it ward away evil spirits? Maybe Leo will stop trying to steal my hammock." She teases. She glances towards Leo and Lanara, making a mental note to ask the pirate about what he'd done this time. She glances back at the pair to find Lora and Xiem making dinner plans. This was fine. This was nice. "If Xiem's willing to cook." She agrees as he chimes in his agreement. She was fairly useless in a kitchen and that was fine with her.

Lanara clears her throat and stands up tall, well, as tall as she can muster at five foot four inches. The heels help a little! She waits until she has mostly everyone’s undivided attention, and smiles as the sun is close to setting and the fireflies are starting to make an appearance. Everything about Enchantment is just magical and she cannot wait to tell Queen Lunalesca about how splendid everything went at this sacred solstice event. “Penelope and I want to thank -all- of you that came out today to celebrate the Summer Solstice! Thank you to the vendors, the set up and clean up crew, everyone that submitted a suncatcher entry, and those that support this beautiful kingdom. We hope you all had a wonderful time of riding ponies, getting your face painted or your hair braided, designing flower crowns, admiring the suncatchers, filling your bellies with food and drink, and catching up with old and new friends. We hope you will party long into the night and that you will return in six months to celebrate the Winter Solstice!” The witch smiles warmly at those that catch her eye before she tosses a final wish into the bonfire and prepares to head home to her handsome husband.

Penelope waves and says her goodbyes to the people she knows, whether giving them a hug or a distant wave, before she is off to return back home.
