RP:Stay In Shadows Part Two

From HollowWiki

This is a Necromancer's Guild RP.

‘’’Synopsis:’’’ Joan and Pyde move on to set Dark Tides Shadows and other traps and defenses for the Black Library.

Black Library

Joan had traveled first to the Black Library for this part of putting up defenses for all three areas that are important to the guild. Knowing she had to use shadows this time of the Black Tides art the vampiric healer would travel to the Necropolis Foyer, noticing that for once it seemed empty as she entered the undead woman would snap her fingers together on her right hand as she recalled something about the whole area being rocked by recent events and that the guild was busy trying to offer help with the city with the recent overflow of dead and undead. She’d duck down towards the moved panel in the floor which in turn, turned into stairs leading down to the underground library entrance. As she stepped down the last old rickety wooden ladder the undead woman would look about the outer chamber, fingers drumming along her icy pale chin as she made calculations in her mind. “Hmm…should start with the ladder first…perhaps booby-trap it.” She muses aloud.

Pyde scurries down the ladder his claws gripping into the wood with the steps a bit high for his taste. once he is close enough to the floor, he drops off the ladder with a soft landing. Looking around and getting a good idea of what he was to help with. Spotting Joan he moves closer to be in earshot. "So, any ideas on what to do here?"

Joan cast a glance back to the old rickety wooden ladder as she thinks, Pyde’s question once he joins the undead woman on the ground floor has her pause. “I was thinking we do something with the ladder first…make it seem like rungs are missing with shadows. So, a person would misjudge and slip and fall down to the ground hard enough to break bone.” She then turns her attention to the many bookcases that fill the main section of the Black Library, “Could do something with the bookcases, but we’d need to make sure all the books are protected…any harm befalls them, and Bradyn would have our hides and scalps.” She lets out a tisk now looking towards the ‘reading room’, musing aloud, “There are all those different skulls and that full dragon’s skeleton also.”

Pyde's ears perk up when he hears dragon. "A dragon you say? Well, I could reanimate the dragon and make it breathe shadow ice breath in case something happens to the books. There is also the idea of using your idea of ladder. Mind if I suggest a potion mist? We could use the potions we made from the hybrid snake to create a knockout gas. I have an idea on how to execute that."

Joan gives a slow nod of her head while she turns to the old rickety ladder, they both had descended to gain entry to the start of the Black Library. “Sounds good. I can also set shadows before the moved panel upwards and the tomb entrance, infuse those with the sickening cold aura from the tomb and then the most ominous evil aura that lingers here in the library.” Joan sets about moving before each room up above and one south. Calling to her channel to the Black Tides she would work to conjure up some rather evil and gnarly looking dark energy shadows that would link and cue up with what each different room held to discourage visitors once the rooms sense them.

Pyde goes into the Reading Room and starts to set about his work. Firstly, he would start by setting a sigil onto the skull of the dragon. Then focusing on what he wanted it to do, he waves his hands over the script intending for the dragon to reanimate at the slightest disturbance of the books. And should the worst happen where the books are set on fire, the dragon would use a Dark Tide Ice breath to put out any fires. The dragon is also instructed to not harm any of the books in the entirety of the library. The mini-mancer safely hops down from the dragon and makes his way back to the library area. "So, I have the Dragon set up. I was going to move on to the candles and create that sleeping gas effect next. How are things on your end?"

Joan would look over her own personal work for a few moments, the undead woman chewing at one corner of her icy pale lips while she focused the shadows into more jagged scary-looking ones as each point linked with the dread already worked into each entrance point. With a loud exhale of breath, she’d turn her focus now on the ladder, her icy cold palms wrapping around a mid-level wooden step. Inhaling she’d once more focus on her own personal channel to the dark tides, willing the magic and power into the wood, every other step now wavers in and out of sight as the shadows work. “Should be good…go on ahead with what you want to do next, I got a bit more to do here.” She’d move to etch a rune into the side of the old rickety wooden ladder, this would help the deep dread one would feel if they looked down the ladder and saw broken and or loose rungs, driving the feeling to not give it a go to climb down it.

Pyde pulls out an old shiny coin he used to toss into the air. The light reflecting off it from the candle changes how the shadows move and writhe. Pyde quickly recites an illusion spell and the light in the room grows slightly dimmer and the shadows seem to lengthen, making the darker parts of the library appear darker. Hopefully, that can help with the sense of dread he was getting from Joan's work. The Fermin then gets to work setting up little glass containers of his fizzy potion made from the venom of the Hybrid snake. He suspense the glass containers over the candles creating a dazzling show from the bubbling liquid within. The catch was the candles were all linked, that if someone made it to the bottom of the ladder the glass vials would break, and the fizzy sedative would aerate and form a gas cloud in the library. "Joan, I have the candles rigged. Was there anything else we needed? I forget."

Joan dusted her hands together once she was finished, knocking off any dust and or spiderwebbing she might have gained while working down in these rooms. “Very snazzy and impressive there Pyde. I think what we have accomplished here this evening for the protection of the Black Library is grand.” She looks to admire the tiny little fizzy vials near each candle. “With what is now in place we got this covered. Next is the death cult temple.”

Pyde nods, "Yup, I need to make a stopover at the Blood Fountain to set something up there. I don't know if you have heard of Ferro Fluid, but when Magic is applied to it, it creates iron spikes. I was thinking about doing the same thing with the Blood Fountain. Doing some research before we got together, I may need to make some sacrifices and a little more rituals plus write some sigils to get the effect I am looking for. As for the Death Cult Temple, what do we have left to do there?"

Joan makes a face, “Sorry buddy, but you gotta hold off on doing anything with the Blood Fountain, that crosses into blood magic, and at our current levels we are not cleared to try any without strict supervision.” She shrugs as these are the new current rules as far as she understood them. “I mean you can ask, and I highly suggest asking King Kas, as he is the one, we look to about whole city-wide defense. It’s a nice solid idea, but once again, not cleared for something that big. As for the death cult temple, all that is left is shadow fire.” With that she’d move to lead the way back up the rickety old wooden ladder and into the Necropolis Foyer and then the way out to the graveyard proper.
