The Hanging Corpse Tavern

Joan had her guild book out before her, pouring over it as her own personal spell book sat in her lap, a ink quill in hand as she wrote down her own thoughts on a lesson she was going over. Now and then her other hand took up a nearby tea cup, taking distracted sips from the hot spiced blood wine inside. The woman had made Thanadule rank awhile ago. She was now working towards the goal of being given the honor of teaching in her chosen flied of study. Her head lightly bobs now and then as she soaked in the lesson, the tavern quite expect for brief bits of chatter from the other patrons.

Pyde :: The door to then tavern opens with a creak and the closes, seemingly by an unseen entity until you look down and the a Fermin carrying a large pack the same size as he is. Pyde is a tad dusty from his travels and pats dust off him creating a small cloud around the door. He then scampers over to a chair at the table he spots a friendly face at. "Joan, Is that you? It has been awhile. Hard at work I see." He sets his pack at the leg of the chair and climbs up onto the seat, then pulls himself onto the table. Signaling for some ale, he politely waits and looks over to the vampire. "Any new adventures since I have been away?"

Joan looked up once she heard her name called out, amusement colors her pale icy features as she looks down towards Pyde, a nod in greeting is given as she closes up her personal spell book in her lap, the ink quill returned to the small inkwell next to her elbow as she moves into conversation mode. “Pyde my good fellow! It’s nice to see you, I’ve just been buried under lessons, study, research and everything else.” She pauses to take a proper drink of her hot spiced blood wine now before going on. “Some, I’ll tell you at a later date, tho seems you failed to report in to Khitti about your whereabouts and such that she/he moved you to the inactive list.” She ‘tut-tuts’ towards her fellow guild member before offering a small closed lip smile, “I do hope you still want to be a active member of our necromancer guild, I need you now! We team up together we both can knock out lessons and missions to climb up in rank.” Her lilac eyes stare down at the fermin.

Pyde looks off into the distance, "I was off looking to resupply materials I use for repairing my marionettes. Then I got lost in some strange woods, and I almost had a Rip Van Winkle moment." He stops after realizing he might sound a bit nuts. "Ahem, Sure, let's move forward and try to get me off the inactive list. What did you have in mind to do so?"

Joan allows her smile to grow into a more natural formed one as she listens to the little fermin talk, the vampiric healer moving to grab at the satchel leaning against her chair leg, putting away her personal spell book and then picking up and enclosing the inkwell before putting that away in it’s own little compartment in her satchel. “All the woods around here are strange and dark, just part of the area. I should know, I had a shop out there, I think the build has been demolished and removed then made into a garden for the guild. It’s free to use.” She checks her cup to see if she needs a refill, noticing she does indeed need a fresh cup she makes a motion to the barkeep. “We can go over what you can do with the bones for starters.” She makes a ‘go on show me’ motion.

Pyde smiles and bows, more out of habit of trying to put on a good show. He then proceeds to take a series of pouches from his belt. A small pouch containing rat bones, another pouch holding Fermin bones, and finally a large pouch containing bone dust. "Here we have my 3 forms of bones." He reaches out with his hand and purple tendrils reach out to the small and medium pouches to animate the skeletons. The bones clatter and creak as they form their former selves. Then the mini-mage commands the fermin skeletons to attack the rats. They break and snap the weaker bones, and Pyde starts reaching out to the broken pieces to crumble them into their basic elements, and combines them to the Fermin skeletons in a swirling whirlwind. You can visibly see the Fermin bones getting thicker showing how much denser they were getting. "This is where I recycle the bones of the fallen minions to reinforce the other minions still fighting." He starts to say a incantation and the larger pouch of bone dust begins to swirl into the air, and be sent outside to reform into it's former self, that of the skeleton of a dragon. It peaks indoors through the windows but doesn't do anything it isn't commanded to. "So that was a demonstration of reconstituting a dragon from mere dust. However since there is no flesh involved I can't make it use any breath attacks of it's former living self. I can however hide in the skull and cast spells tinged with necrotic energy to give the illusion of it using breath attacks. There is a nice hidey hole where the brain used to be."

Joan looks impressed, offering a polite clapping of hands afterwards, she herself looking out one of the nearby windows to gander at the skeleton dragon. “Very impressive there Pyde! I think that will cover one requirement towards your advancement towards guild rank.” Joan said while the barkeep fleshed up her cup of hot spiced blood wine, the vampiric healer had the coins set next to her cup so the barkeep just swept those up before returning to his station behind the bar.

Pyde claps his hands together with intention and all the bones, bone pieces, and bone dust swirl around and return to their pouches. A little wave over each bag prevents spillage and leakage of each material, and returns them to his coat after shrinking them down to fit in his coat pockets. "May I inquire what else would be required, or is that for the Leader to decide?"

Joan takes up her guild book and shows it to the little fermin, “Basically we go over all the knowledge in this book and what you have learned. Then there is task based missions slash lessons you must show you have gained understanding over and can complete to the best of your personal training. Once our higher ups are satisfied that you mastered slash gain enough knowledge you will either be given a higher rank or referred to one of the teachers for more training.”

Pyde sits upon the table top sipping at his drink. He ponders what all he could learn or wanted to learn. "I think I should go for a refresher on the necrotic versions of elements. Other than that I would be happy to help with any quests. Though not sure what the higher ups think of me with me being gone and all. Would I need to put in extra assignments?"

Joan rubs at her chin as she grow thoughtful, “That would be up to the higher-ups to be honest. You would need to meet with Khitti as she is now our Thanatos Domina and go over your choices with her.” Joan scoots back in her chair moving to get up from her seated position. “We can go from there, but till then you are allowed to try missions and such. Perhaps we can head out towards the garden and go over what you know about poisons and potions next meet-up, hmm?!”

Pyde nods, he stands finishes off his drink and stands up. "I know a little bit about that, in fact I use some poisons when I summon my rats. I take some down time and dip claws and teeth into some. Another effective tactic, is having the rats chew through the softer tissues of living victims should I be ambushed on the road and such. I will send word that I am back so I can find out what to do next. And formality aside, it is good to see you again." He bows once more.

Joan finished off her own cup, the hot spiced blood wine finally warmed her icy body, the blood giving her cheeks a bit of color, “And to you as well, if you excuse me, I must retire to the spire, it is our guild’s new headquarters. We still use the Black Library, but our main area is the spire, we have rooms there for our members, you are welcomed to come and stay. Till we meet again Pyde!” With that Joan travels out of the tavern, taking the trail back to the Black Spire.
