RP:Contemplating the Chasm

From HollowWiki

Part of the The Orb Of Life Arc

Summary: Various creatures gather at the newly formed chasm near Rynvale, contemplating the cause and possible solutions.

Characters: Duth, Rhocielle, Thea, Naldo, Cecilnezuto, Belphesius

Location: North of Rynvale, Wildflower Field (Location of the former healer Sage)

Rhocielle appears from the north.

Duth said to Rhocielle, "Make sure no fall in hole."

Rhocielle said to Duth, "I will bear that in mind... When did this happen?"

Duth said to Rhocielle, "dat am good question, Rye and Thea say something about time rip so me no know."

Rhocielle said, "Rye and Thea?" The anthro wolf grunted softly before looking again to the ogre, "Thank you for the information. Did they come here too?""

Thea appears from the north.

Thea said to Duth, "Has anyone else been about?"

Duth said to Rhocielle, "Thea here when me get here, Rye show up round time me toss dat *points to a large bolder at the bottom of the pit.*"

Duth points at the lycon.

Thea nods and sighs, "Aye..well there is no sign of anything else as yet."

Rhocielle dipped his runic muzzle to the regal pixie, uttuering in a husky drawl, "Lady Thea..."

Duth said to Thea, "No it still hole, you find sage yet?"

Thea shakes her head, "Nay, not as yet." She gives Rhocielle a brief study and dips her crowned head to him, "Greetings. What brought you to this place?"

Rhocielle lifted a clawed hand to the sky, then moving it slowly about the wrist, "The skies." Everyone on the island saw the dazzling display above. "This is my home now, and I thought it best to explore the island for anything that might have happened..." He did not mention the peculiar sensation of feeling as if he could not recall a portion of the day, as such thoughts could discredit him as merely just a raving male. "And yourself, Lady Thea. This is rather far from Enchantment and Sage."

Thea motions towards the gaping chasm and too lifts her sights to the skies, "It was enough to draw me here. I saw the flash, despite the distance..but it was the flora that attracted me."

Naldo appears from the north.

Duth pounds his chest proudly, "Thea ask Duth guard hole, so Duth guard hole. This hole go nowhere wile Duth on guard!"

Duth said to Naldo, "Try not fall in hole."

Thea grins to the ogre, eyes then narrowing on the approaching minotaur. Naldo walks towards the crash site and stares in amazement at the flower field. utterly shoched and bewildered, he holds his head as he falls to the ground.

Rhocielle snorted softly and nodded, stolid grey eyes following the pixie's motion toward the chasm. A canine ear propped up at her admission of the flora calling her. With a look of some incredulity, the wolfen male asked for clarification, "Hrmm, the flowers...?" Curiosity was cut short briefly, his gaze snapped towards Duth, "Heh, aye... And doing a good job... mrm... Duth?" Looking to Thea once more, he said simply, "They called to you?" He knew of druidic connections towards plant and animal life, but not the extent of said connections. To reach the southern Sage region bespoke of immense power on her part.

Cecilnezuto appears from the north.

Duth said to Rhocielle, "How you know Duth's name? Everyone seem to know, it creepy." Rhocielle said to Duth, "You guarded me from not falling into the hole. Duth guards the hole. You are Duth."

Cecilnezuto picked up 1 temporal fragment.

Duth said to Rhocielle, "Me try not think dat hard."

Cecilnezuto exits north.

Thea nods solemnly, feeling a bit offended at being questioned, "Aye, they did. Along with the trees..mostly the flora this day though. I left poor Rheven rather abruptly, without so much as a word to let him know where I was heading. He must have thought me mad until he found me here. I think he understood then.." Realizing she was babbling on, she pauses and looks to the lycan, "Why do you ask?"

Naldo picked up 1 temporal fragment.

Duth said to Thea, "Duth think if you get mad there be big smoking hole somewhere..."

Rhocielle allowed a faint grin to crease the black lips of his rune inscribe muzzle at the utterance of the ogre. Towards Thea, he shrugged faintly, admitting a simple curiosity, "It is not often that I come across those so strongly connected to them..., particularly those that travel rather far from their homes and groves."

Naldo gets back on his feet and, out of curiosity, picks up the last temporal fragment and examines it. He soon notices he is not alone "You guys know what happened?"

Duth said to Naldo, "something bout time rip. Made a weird sound, now lots of flowers, and big hole."

Thea listens with consideration to the admission from the lycan, crowned head bobbing slightly, "Aye..many simply do not pay as much attention as myself I suppose. I do not question my closeness with nature, but rather embrace it for all it offers me." She leaves it at that, wondering if this was his thinly veiled way of saying it was none of her business. She then chuckles to Duth, "If I get mad, there may well be a big smoking hole somewhere..away from the trees and filled with those who annoy me." She winks to show her jest.

Cecilnezuto appears from the north.

Naldo said to Duth, "A time rip? That dosen't make sense, Since when can time be ripped?"

Duth shrugs gives a confused grunt, and points at the pixie.

Thea stares over to the minotaur, realizing he must not have been about when Vuryal was. Or the time runner twins for that matter, "Since always, to put it simply. Lord Vuryal was a Time Lord. This rift is left in wake of his disappearance, from my understanding. It is all rather..complicated."

Rhocielle nodded in agreement with Thea, "Aye... I have heard of many druids, met many... And yet, they are not here..." Scrunching his muzzle faintly, he thought briefly about his next choice of words, "Hrmm, though it is nevertheless an honor to finally meet you, it also... gives me a pleasant feeling to know that you are one of the druids that is indeed closely bound to nature." An amicable smile, as well as anyone with a wolfen head could offer, appeared as he formally dipped his head towards Thea, "Forgive my not saying my name earlier. I am Rho, the one who has sent a request to join the Healer's Guild." When the minotaur finally spoke, the black Lycan gave what little he knew, "I do not know."

Naldo looks towards the pixie and hopes she has some answers.

Cecilnezuto was walking down the pathway, still seeking out the "presence" he'd searched more than a tenday for, to little avail. As he continued on, his eyes widened as he beheld the sight of a crater where the Grove had once stood. It was then that he noticed other travellers nearby and walked toward them. Perhaps this was a clue to what he seeked? As he walked towards them, he noticed a fragment on the ground that was akin to the Shards he had found while seeking the presence. Picking it up, he noticed something odd with it and kept heading to where the other people stood.(oocly has RP outfit equipped, body armor is also the guardian armor, just customed to show his wings)

Thea returns the lycan's smile with a gracious one of her own, "Aye then, well met Rho. I recall your request in recent days and had planned to meet with you very soon. I apologize that it has to be under these circumstances, but alas.." She settles her winged frame to the earth and places a hand against the fertile soil there, "I too was curious as to why more were not here..at any rate, you seem to know my name well enough already that further introduction is not necessary, but..I am Thea of Enchantment.", she says in a honey-tongued voice.

Duth said to Cecilnezuto, "Try not fall in hole."

Cecilnezuto said to Duth, "Aye, 'tis a rather large one. What happened to this place? It was once beautiful, not too long ago."

Duth said to Cecilnezuto, "Time rip."

Rhocielle glanced aside to the chasm, wistfully drawling, "...life is not planned, but merely follows whatever path is given. We can either walk along it and do the best with whatever we come across, or struggle and likely fall into a chasm ourselves." He shook his head reassuringly to the pixie queen, "The important thing is that we have now met, Lady Thea." Drawing his attention away from the winged woman briefly, he took notice to the newest arrival to the slowly growing crowd. Already he began wondering if they were late coming druids.

Thea smiles to the wisdom in Rhocielle's words, words that would no doubt seal the deal with him getting into the Healer's Guild, "Well said..", is all the Pixie offers as verbal response, following his trailing eyes towards Cecilnezuto soonafter.

Cecilnezuto said, "A time rip? I've heard theories of such things, but I'm afraid I'm still rather inexperienced in anything of the sort. It looks as if I may be near to finding the one causing the imbalance....." ~This last part, he'd mumble to himself, more than to anyone in particular, his crimson hues gazing over the hole~"

Duth follows, or rather tries to follow the conversation with his ears not his eyes, because his eye are busy watching the hole to make sure it does not go anywhere.

Thea , having had a set of scales as her own signature for some time now seems intrigued by the newcomer's admission, overheard thanks to keen pixie ears, "What imbalance is it you refer to?", she asks boldly.

Belphesius appears from the north.

Belphesius returns to the void, lumbering in to see a new crowd gathered here, the Orc casts a wayward glance toward Duth, still thinking perhaps that this could be the Ogre's fault, even despite the confusing words of the woman who was previously here.

Thea nearly shrieks as the menacing orc makes an appearance yet again, jumping up from her seated position to almost landing in Rhocielle's arms. "Pardon me..", she says with pinkened cheeks, chin jerking towards the shaman, "He startled me a tad.", Realizing she had managed a tight grip on the poor lycan's arm, she releases it and smiles apologetically.

Belphesius said, "Maybe if we offer a sacrifice, the Gods will bring back the earth...."

Rhocielle canted his head at the lumbering orc, leathern wraps beneath his armored sleeve creaking only just from the vice-grip the startled pixie had upon him. "Not at all..," the anthro wolf remarked slowly in regards to her apology, grey eyes not leaving Belphesius.

Belphesius looks around at all those gathered, his look most certainly a menacing one given his previous comment.

Cecilnezuto would look away from the hole and to the woman whom spoke to him. Offering a bow, he said, "Allow me to introduce myself, Milady. I am Cecil "Winterwing" Nezuto. 'Tis a pleasure to meet ye." As he finished speaking, he bowed to everyone present, in kind. Standing upright once more, he answered the woman as best he could, "I'm a Knight of the Balance, Milady. A tenday ago, I was at the Hill of Peace, when I met a traveller that spoke of odd happenings as of late. He, too, follows the grey road and spoke of a "presence" that has begun to tilt the scales. I cannot honestly say if it be for good or evil, but...I have found these Chaos Shards wherever clues to this entity is found." His hand would motion to a pouch at his waist as he spoke of the Shards.

Duth said to Cecilnezuto, "Me not think dat have anyting to do with this."

Thea heard Cecilnezuto's words, but her eyes were still affixed on the orc looking to sacrifice someone or something here, which seemed to her to be the smartest thing to keep her eyes on just now, "I see..", she says now speaking to the Knight, "You remind me of Donovan Keane the way you speak. He and I used to go back and forth in regards to balance. He seemed to have the notion that if they tipped just so towards the side of evil..all would fall to hell. Which, well..it will not. Nature has a way of sorting such things out on her own." The Druidess takes her sights from Belphesius just long enough to impart a gracious smile in Cecil's direction.

Duth said to Belphesius, "Me not think dat work, but if want to toss yourself into pit, me not stop you."

Belphesius reaches into his satchel, pulling out a large rodent. The Orc proceeds with a bizarre tribal dance before smashing the rodent in his grasp and throwing it into the pit while chanting unknown prayers in his native tongue.

Belphesius dropped 1 dead rat.

Belphesius said, "Now we wait...."

Belphesius takes in Duth's words.... already getting antsy that no results have taken place, "You're probably right..... need a bigger sacrifice. Not me of course, but bigger. Big hole needs big sacrifice."

Cecilnezuto nods his understanding to the woman's words and watches the orc that had appeared as they were speaking. "Aye, Milady, 'tis true that Nature can sort things out herself, but I do not mind lending my aid to it. Mind ye, that be only if the scales were to tip -too- far in either direction, not just in the events of....well..." As he watched the massive orc kill the rodent, his words were to the woman. He merely pointed at the now flat rodent that lay in the hole.

Thea said to Cecilnezuto, "Seems you and I are on the same side then. "

Naldo steps away from the orc seeing where this is probably leading to.

Duth said to Belphesius, "Maybe try cow? Gods love cow."

Cecilnezuto said to Thea, "Aye, that appears so, Milady."

Thea watches the rodent fall to a corpse, watching the ritualistic behavior of the orc with great interest. She'd read of such things, perhaps viewed them from a protected distance, but this was quite intriguing so up close. It is only at his mention of greater sacrifice that she speaks up, "I think perhaps the only sacrifice that needs to be made is our time..sir. With all due respect, I very much doubt that any who are tossed in will render a varying result."

Belphesius grunts in apparent agreement with Duth's comment, "You're smarter than you looks maybe... cow makes good sacrifice, lots of blood."

Rhocielle watched with silent bemusement at the banter between the orc and ogre, and then again to the others. Indeed an odd crowd was drawn to the site. Looking down to the satchel that rested against his side, thoughts wandered towards whom might be able to have more information regarding the shard he collected. Only the flicker of his fur coated ears atop equally furry scalp suggested he was still actually listening to the conversations around him.

Naldo said to Duth, "Please don't sugest cows" He eyes Belphesius carefully and nervously whispers "I don't want anybody getting any ideas." Belphesius had barely noticed Naldo, though now that he spoke the Orc seems strangely interested , pointing a nubby digit toward the minotaur. "A talking cow?"

Thea said to Rhocielle, "Ryeanna made mention of the missing Sage. We need to find the sage..then perhaps we can find more answers to what has happened to the Grove."

Duth said to Naldo, "You not cow, you not work."

Belphesius pushes Duth's shoulder "TALKING COW... Make Gods very happy!!!"

Rhocielle made no visual clue that he was lost in thoughts, his maws opening without a skipped beat to reply to Thea, "What can you tell me of him...?"

Naldo quickly turns to Cecilnezuto and hushes him, while still keeping an eye on the orc.

Duth said to Belphesius, "Dat right Rye say we need sage! so you find sage and toss em in. dat fix!"

Thea sighs audibly and shakes her head, "Not much given that he was gone when we arrived. There was a fellow over there who mentioned he got away, nothing more."

Cecilnezuto watches the orc, ogre, minotaur conversation with interest, mouth curving into a grin as they debated. Lost in his own thoughts, theories ablaze in his mind

Belphesius snatches up a handfull of grass from the field, holding it out in front of him toward the Minotaur as if trying to feed him. "Moooo"

Duth said to Belphesius, "Him bull not cow, we need cow, or sage."

Naldo jumps five fet in the air and runs away with such haste that the flowers he passes lose their petals and swirl behind him

Naldo exits north.

Belphesius said to Duth, "Eh, cow, bull, whatever, he ran away now. I guess we have to find sage for sacrifice. Woman said sage was important."

Rhocielle flared his nostrils slightly as he looked towards the almost dumbfounded individual, "I doubt he will say anything more than that..." Given that the two more brutish of their present company spoke of using the sage as a sacrifice, the warder inclined his wolfen head towards the pixie to speak more quietly.

Rhocielle whispered something to Thea.

Thea whispered something to Rhocielle.

Rhocielle whispered something to Thea.

Thea whispered something to Rhocielle.

Rhocielle whispered something to Thea.

Cecilnezuto watched as the minotaur ran and chuckled, before turning to the orc, "My good sir, I don't believe that throwing the Sage, if he's ever found, into the pit would heal the earth. Perhaps, if we, or someone, can find him, he can fix this with his power. If not....." As his words trailed off, he offered a shrug

Thea whispered something to Rhocielle.

Thea excuses herself from the mix, heading off to the destinations spoken of by she and the lycan.

Thea exits north.

Rhocielle exits north.

Belphesius said to Cecilnezuto, "Is the sage powerful shaman? He have his own sacrifices?"

Cecilnezuto sees the orc and ogre in deep discussion and also takes his leave as he resumes his search

Duth said to Cecilnezuto, "No, we have to chuck sage into pit, still living if we can do, but must show to Reyanna first, to make sure am right sage."

Cecilnezuto said to Belphesius, "I know not, only that he must be found, good sir." He'd reply to the orc as he headed down the path"

Cecilnezuto said to Duth, "'Tis true, she should be shown, before anything is decided upon, should the sage be found"

Cecilnezuto exits north.

Belphesius said to Duth, "It doesn't matter if it's the right Sage, hole get fixed if we chuck in right Sage, if wrong Sage... still a good sacrifice."

Duthsaid to Belphesius, "Me no know ,gods fickle, wrong sage may think we mock dem."

Belphesius said to Duth, "I will talk with witch doctor, he know what to do."
