RP:Actually Having Your Cake And Eating It Too

From HollowWiki

This is a Adventurer's Guild RP.

Summary: Khitti hosts a little cake-testing party for the newlyweds, Meri and Magik. During said cake-testing, the two ask Khitti if she's interested in being moved up to the Mythril rank in the Adventurer's Guild and also explains that they may have found something relating to the fallen city of Armantium. In exchange, Khitti explains several things going on in her life that may impact others at some point.

Ginger Snapped Bakery, Cenril

Meri would make sure that Khitti got word in advance this time around, cake (and beer) tasting was not something that people just showed up for at random. And just because Meri and Magik had a private ceremony does not mean that they should miss out on having some delicious cake to celebrate. There were several things that Meri wanted to talk to Khitti about, with Magik present, but really the only thing that Meri could think of at this exact moment is, “Oh man, I wonder what sort of samples are waiting for us.” Magik has probably been dealing with Meri salivating over what sort of deliciousness they get to enjoy tonight right about when they past the gates of Cenril. By the time they are nearing the front door of the bakery, Meri was eyeing Magik in a very incredulous manner. As if this cake discussion was the most serious decision of their married life -ever- “Are you thinking you are going to want a chocolate cake? Or…are you more of a vanilla guy?” Meri smirks a moment, keeping whatever dumb joke she thinks she has to herself. They were only seconds away from stepping inside the bakery anyway.

Magik has never really done an actual taste testing for such an occasion so he was more than excited about their appointment with Khitti. He may be cool on the outside but inside he was going back and forth with what types of cake would pair well with his favorite beer. Then again, he is a Lyastri afterall. It didn't really matter, to be honest. The ultimate goal of their future celebration is to get pretty trashed with his wife. The more anyone drinks, the more everything starts to taste the same. Meri wondering out loud brings a smirk to the elf's face, "I have no idea, but I'm starving. I haven't had anything to eat yet. I've been starving myself for this." The elf laughs quietly as his stomach growls in anticipation. Chocolate or vanilla? It didn't really matter to him. He starts to open the door to the bakery and stands to the side. Ladies first. "I'm fine with whichever, my love."

Khitti || The bakery was closed for the day! Sorry, no cake here! Well, not for the customers anyway. Inside the restaurant, several of the tables had been pushed together in the middle of the dining area and on them was A LOT of cake. Thankfully, Khitti had made the wise decision to go with cupcakes instead of full size cakes. There were the staples of course--devil’s food chocolate with a whipped chocolate frosting; a buttery yellow cake with thick buttercream frosting; a vanilla (white) cake with vanilla frosting; red velvet (a strange type of chocolate cake, whose chocolate wasn’t overpowering) with cream cheese frosting--but there were others that were a little more seasonal, like carrot cake with walnuts and cream cheese frosting with cinnamon sprinkled on top (this one was Khitti’s absolute favorite and she wouldn’t hesitate to point this out, though Meri already would know this) or a spice cake (which was similar, sans carrots) with similar frosting, a few different kinds of cheesecake (strawberry swirl, chocolate chip, and chocolate fudge with blueberries or cherries on top), lemon-blueberry cake with lemon syrup soaked into the cake and a light whipped vanilla frosting. There was even an angel food cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberries usually eaten in the summer and the stollen (a heavy bread-like cake with rum-soaked fruit and nuts and a thin vanilla glaze on top) that Khitti usually made during Yule. The pièce de résistance of the whole thing was a cake called a Black Forest Gateau, which consisted of several thin layers of sponge cake (a slightly denser cake than the usual) that were brushed with a clear cherry liquor, had layers of sour cherry jam in between, and were topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Khitti had, of course, asked in advance what Magik’s favorite beer was and had a small keg of that delivered and even got a few bottles of Meri’s favorite whiskey too.

Khitti || Honestly, it’s a good thing she had to make so many different kinds, because it doubled as stress baking for Khitti. While Khitt was not really entirely concerned about having to tell Magik of his existence, Khitti, on the other hand, was. She hadn’t had any of those bad feelings of hers though and even her daily tarot pull seemed fine. But this was Khitti we’re talking about here. As the couple were entering the bakery, Khitti was adding plates and glasses to the table they were to sit at. “Hi, guys!” Her mouth remained open for a moment, like she was going to say something else, but something felt weird on her nose. That’s because there was powdered sugar all over her face. She used her black apron to wipe her face and scrunched up her nose at it. “I can’t ever not get that all over me. It’s like a damn sugary fog every single time I make frosting.” She smirked and shook her head, then eyed them. “Are you ready? Just keep in mind that you can mix and match or suggest other types of frosting or whatever else or I can give my own thoughts of what might also go well on something, if you’re not keen. And I don’t care if you want multiple cakes either, obviously.” She sat down finally with a sigh, but not an unhappy one.

Meri smirks and shakes her head at the answer she gets out of Magik. Ladies first though, Meri steps inside of her bakery but she is not entirely able to let the subject go. As soon as her sights set on her sister, she proclaims, “Well Magik isn’t going to be any help. He apparently doesn’t even have an opinion on chocolate or vanilla.” Meri smirks, proud of her antagonizing of Magik. “I am pretty sure he is just here for the beer.” While this is said, Meri is already making her way over to the tables that have been pushed together and does a slow circling of it so that she can really take in everything that Khitti has whipped together for them. “I am absolutely ready.” Meri just could not decide which she should even start with, of course the Black Forest Gateau was definitely catching Meri’s sights. After deliberation, Meri internally decides to save what she thinks might be the best for last. If picking what they would be tasting first were left up to Meri, she’s try one of the seasonal cakes. Specifically the one that was Khitti’s favorite. So that is what she starts to reach for, looking for cues from Magik and Khitti that this was a good starting point. “We’re both pretty excited though. Hopefully we can settle on something tonight. Magik and I were also thinking we could use this time to chat about a couple of guild related things too.” Meri is pretty sure she has mentioned this in passing to both of them. Meri looks to Magik to see if the man does not want to dive right into elaborating.

Magik followed Meri into the bakery and instantly makes a b-line to the desserts. He gives everything a quick lookover then gets himself a beer. His beer of choice? Wheat beer that's brewed with orange peels. Delicious. Magik is careful to pour the beer to get the perfect head. After a slight swirl and a sniff, he starts circling the desserts. He looks up to Meri with a sarcastic look of disgust, "Just here for the beer? How dare you.." He then takes a hearty sip of his drink before smirking. He then looks to Khitti, "Thank you for setting this up, Khitti. Everything looks absolutely amazing.." As Meri mentions the guild happenings, he reaches for the lemon-blueberry cupcake. Pairing and such..He studies the cupcake and quietly mutters to himself and anyone who may be listening, "Might just have to order one of each.." He looks to the sisters, smirks, then digs in relatively carefully.

Khitti smirked at Meri’s proclamation then eyed Magik. “Sheesh, Magik. After all this work and you’re just here for the beer? For shame.” They may not be related by blood, but it was fairly obvious one of the big reasons why these two are sisters. Hint: it’s the sarcasm. And clearly, it played along oh so well with Magik’s own sarcasm. Khitti wasn’t gonna say it out loud, but she definitely approved. “Oh don’t look at me,” she said to the blonde. “Start anywhere. I’m too biased in that I love all of them, even if I do have my favorites. If you want non-sugary stuff at the party too, we could do soup and sandwiches so there’s enough variety? Obviously gotta have Magik’s sushi too.” She tilted her head to the side somewhat at the mention of guild stuff and nodded. “Yeah I think you mentioned something. What’s up?” Yes, let’s do that first. The stuff that isn’t probably going to give Magik a headache like it did Meri. Get to the -other stuff- later, when he’s got enough beer in him. Khitti eyed all of the cupcakes and let out a ‘hmm’. Eventually, she chose one of the carrot cake ones.

Meri studies Magik for a moment. Maybe she was judging his choice of first cupcake? Naw, Meri was just reminded that -sometimes- it might be a good idea to have -some- amount of manners and use words like ‘thank you’. Even to your sister. “Yeah, thank you for doing all of this for us.” Anyway, with Khitti having no real opinion and Magik already having made his first selection, Meri settles on her first choice. By the time that they are all done chatting, Meri will have ideally had a taste of everything. Except she’s trying to pair it all with whiskey instead of the beer. “I mean I guess we could get a little bit of everything? Maybe? We’d just need smaller servings if we did that. Maybe we just do a bunch of cupcakes instead of doing a full on cake…?” Meri shrugs and then indulges in a bit of that seasonal cupcake, it’s not like they had to have the answer to their cake situation first thing. There was plenty of tasting to do first. And chatting while they try and figure out what their preferences are, if not a bit of everything. And while they snack, they chat, “I guess, I will start with the easiest guild thing to talk about. As you know, Magik and I recently changed up the ranks within the guild. We were hoping that you would consider a spot at the Mithril rank within the guild. Obviously you are someone in the guild that Magik and I trust a lot, so….” She looks to Magik, who has already given his blessing on this, then to Khitti to see if she is even open to it.

Magik hummed happily to himself as he continues tasting different cakes and such. Using his beer as a palatte cleanser may not be highly recommended due to the orangey aftertaste, but what the hell. He wasn't going to eat cupcakes and drink water with them. If there's beer, it will be drank. He keeps his mental notes on each of the cupcakes to himself. However, Meri receives a couple eyebrow wiggles after the ones that are especially delightful, which is probably most of them. Khitti gets Magik's approval on her suggestion of the other foods besides the cake, "That sounds like a great idea. If you need any extra hands, let me know. There are a couple of Unseen in Xalious that could prove useful to you." He then looks to Meri, "I mean, makes sense right? Never drink on an empty stomach.." He then goes about his tastings until Mrs.Lyastri D'Chath brings up Khitti's promotion in the AG. After another swig of beer, he nods in agreement, "Yeah, we both trust you with this position. Plus it'd be great to have that third opinion incase there's something Meri and I don't agree on." With that, Magik settles into a seat close to Meri to let his stomach settle a bit before diving back into the goodies.

Khitti just blinked a few times at Meri. “What? Me? Really?” It’s not like she wasn’t a higher up in other guilds, but still it always sort of surprised her when someone wanted to give her responsibilities. She looked to Magik for confirmation and when he gave it, she shrugged then nodded. “Sure, if you two are certain it’s not a bad idea,” Khitti said with a smirk. Stepping down from the Devout’s Guild leadership hadn’t been entirely bad for her, but there was still the lingering doubt of whether or not she’d been any good for that guild in the first place. It hadn’t gone entirely to plan and she somewhat wondered if that had been happening in the other guilds as well. But the redhead did her best to quell all of that for now--Khitt was nagging at her anyway in the back of their shared mind--and went about shoving a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting in her face. After taking a bite, she grabbed a notebook she’d left on one of the tables, summoned up her shadow ink fountain pen with a flick of her wrist and started writing down notes for the party. “Possibly a little bit of everything. Small portions. Get help from the Unseen if needed. Got it.”

Meri had very ambitious goals when she started everything. Each cupcake she tasted was finished fully. As she moves further down the tasting line, she finds that her stomach is getting full on sugar and whiskey. This means instead of finishing each cupcake she tastes, she starts eating like half of them. “We are absolutely certain it is not a bad idea. We value your intuition. We also trust that you will plan us an amazing party. So yeah, a little bit of everything. I really want this one to be in it.” She is on about the Black Forest cupcake. Of course Meri wants that one there, and not just for the aesthetic red and black look. “We have not exactly settled on when we’re having this shindig but…soon?” Meri looks to Magik. “We’ll make sure that we give you plenty of notice before the little celebration.” Meri pauses, taking a moment to sip at her whiskey. “The second guild matter is….Well we think we have found evidence that Armantium could still be somewhat intact in between the oceans of Cenril and Rynvale. If we are right, then it’s rediscovery would be quite a bragging right for the guild. The trouble is, all of our guild members require air to breath...which makes breathing underwater difficult. And thus searching the ocean thinking. But I was thinking that maybe you, Brand and perhaps your friend Nemona could help with that during any downtime you might have?” It wouldn’t even be improbable that the mermaid already knows of what the adventurer’s are looking to find. There is only one way to find out, though, which is why Meri and Magik are talking to Khitti about it.

Magik grins as he notices Meri starting to slow down on her tastings. How adorable is she? He watches his wife while his grin remains. He then nods in full agreement about the Black Forest Gateau. It was a favorite of his as well. He folds his hands onto his stomach as he meets Meri's eyes, "Yes. Definitely soon. We still have a couple things we have to wrinkle out." Like how to surprise everyone. Or do they just send some letters with the invitation to the celebration? And the location? What is he going to wear? Probably all black, but to what degree? Black pajamas with his infamous black fuzzy slippers? Or is he going to be along the lines of his fancy outfits when he's at the Tower teaching them kids how to chill out and burn some stuff down? Decisions decisions..Anyways. Magik kind of takes a back seat when it comes to the talk of Armantium. He resting position doesn't remain much longer than his thoughts. He gets up and starts cleaning up their mess a bit just as he does after their dinners at the treehouse.

Khitti grinned as she realized Meri was favoring the Black Forest cake over all of it. “That one’s a specialty back home. It’s got cherry liquor soaked into the cake--which is also something they make in Dhavislaav--and I just happen to have extra if you want it too. It’s good on its own, though a little sweet.” The conversation shifted back to guild stuff and Khitti’s brow furrowed a little. “Armantium…?” She struggled to recall what it was, as she’d only read about it in passing. Avian-related matters were not her forte. “The… avian city?” Khitti looked pensive, wondering if Nemona would indeed know where it’s at. “It’s possible Nemona might even know its location, but… the last time she tried to help landfolk, back when we had a search party for Emilia, other mermaids attacked her for it. It’s been some time since then, so maybe things are better. It’s possible she may not tell, but maybe give a roundabout area for us to search. Hm.” She tapped her chin a few times and took another bite of her cupcake. “Do you want to go look for her soon? And Brand and I can certainly go looking as well. And he might be able to help with the breathing issue. We’ve got those rebreathers, but we don’t have many and they don’t leave much room for talking if we need to attempt to underwater. But Brand has both shapeshifting and elemental magic that can help. At the very least, we’ve got options.” As Magik got up to start cleaning a little, she offered him a smile. “Thanks. And you guys can take home whatever you want. I can get it packaged up for you when you’re ready to head out.”

Meri smiles as Magik is kind enough to start cleaning up. It just serves as a reminder that she got pretty lucky with the second husband. “You see? This is exactly why I am keeping this one. So thoughtful.” No smirk, no sarcasm. Meri is just giving Magik a compliment. “Yes. The avain city. I definitely think we need to try and look for Nemona soon. It is something that I am happy to do with you, or with Brand. Honestly, whatever is clever in that regard. And there is no rush, I think you both have your plates full trying to clean up other messes. If it is there, then it’s not like it will actually be going anywhere any time soon.” There were other priorities, but it would be quite the find wouldn’t it? Meri herself never had the chance to see Armantium. It crashed into the ocean not long after she arrived in these lands. Curiosity is definitely getting the better of her. What would such a city be like? Even in a ruined state? Meri snaps out of her personal thoughts and grins wide at Khitti. “Of course we’re going to want some things to go. Fleur and Mirsh would not be happy with us if we did not bring home some samples.”

Magik continues to clean up the best he can then shifts his strategy to saving the kids some goodies. Meri's compliment is met with soft smile before continuing helping with the gathering of the leftovers, "If Mirshann is anything like her father, she will probably suggest having all of these at the party as well." The elf quietly chuckles then returns to Meri's side. He chimes in with a curious look on his face, "Ya know, we might have been talking about this place for a bit now but I don't remember ever stepping foot there before I took my long 'vacation' away from these lands.." His statement was pretty rhetorical. Magik places a hand on Meri's leg as he starts to think of what he could do himself to breathe underwater. Something something hot water, steam, oxygen, etc?

Khitti || “He’s definitely a keeper. I’m glad it didn’t take you guys…” Khitti stopped and counted on her fingers. “Four years before you got married.” She smirked. “Who’d’ve thought an ex-assassin would have trust issues? Or that he’d deny his feelings for an incredibly infuriating redhead right up until the second time she died?” She shrugged and gave a clearly dramatic, exasperated sigh. “Anyway. We can definitely look for Nemona anytime. I don’t know much about Armantium, since it was before my time here, but the research nerd in me is excited. Was there anything else? I uh… suppose I should tell you of my own things. Meri knows about one of them anyway.” And unfortunately, she had to get the most confusing part of it out of the way first before going on to the other.

Meri has seen enough of KhittiBrand’s relationship that she cannot help but smirk at the description that her sister gives. “No, we didn’t take four years. We just…did it our own way, without really telling anyone. And in our PJs.” Meri grins at this last part. Look, Meri was not exactly one for rule-following and tradition. A pajama exchanging of vows was actually pretty cute to her. To Magik, “A bit of everything it is, just for you and Mirsh.” As for the rest of the talk? Meri issues Khitti a fairly encouraging smile, knowing how tired the redhead was of explaining things. It was confusing, indeed. Meri settles in with her whiskey for this portion of the conversation, having already gotten enough of her fill on the cupcakes for the night. She had a little bit of almost everything. This was the part of the night where she could do less talking and more listening.

Magik smiles at Khitti's approval. He probably should have talked to Khitti first about the whole marriage thing, but the whole thing was unexpected and unplanned. They practically got married in their pajamas as Vhid and Ohtar as their witnesses. Not conventional, but when does Magik ever do anything by the book? ..And of course Meri puts that in her post while Magik's writer is doing some pre-writing. And now here we are breaking the fourth wall or something along those lines. Magik is slighly taken back by the words 'suppose I should tell you of my own things.' He eyes Meri for a quick moment then returns his attention to Khitti with a slightly tilted head. He knew the answer to this next question already but had to ask it anyways, "You didn't poison these cupcakes did you?" His expression softens then he asks, "What's going on, Khitti?"

Khitti scratched the back of her head a little, a wall of awkwardness hitting her. “What hasn’t been going on, really?” She not so subtly reached for one of the unopened bottles of whiskey, uncorked it, and took a swig. “Right so. I’m sure Meri probably told you before about me acting all weird and not knowing who Brand is and all that? Well, long story short, someone he killed back in Catal possessed him while we were in the Archipelago. That place is a damn soul magnet and Viera, the aforementioned someone, made our lives a living hell for a bit. During all that, she used her shapeshifting magic to change Brand into a woman and me into a guy. That’s all we knew. Those lives as those people. They were us, but still a little different besides the gender-y stuff. Well… once we got our memories back we had both of these different memories mixed in with one another. And they started to split up over time. I told Meri that it was like… if you had the ability to take purple or orange or green paint and separate them back into their original colors. So… There’s me in this body… and the guy, I mentioned, Khitt. He’s me, from an alternate timeline. One where he was born with my magic, inside of having it forced upon him. Where his parents and sibling aren’t dead and our village wasn’t tortured and murdered by necromancers and a mindflayer. Someone in that timeline made different choices than this one and things turned out a little differently. He still eventually came here. Met Brand, except her name is Annette. There’s a Meri too; his name is Merius. Khitt wants to be in the clan as well, but obviously Meri said I should talk to you about all this first. There’s other stuff to but…” She sighed. “It’s best I let you absorb that first. And you can meet him too, obviously.”

Meri herself left Khitti to do a bulk of the storytelling to Magik. She might be accepting of this current situation, but that did not mean that she feels that she could explain it properly without getting details mixed up somewhere along the way. Hearing even the shortened version of the story again has Meri going cross-eyed for just a moment. It’s nothing that a bit more whiskey won’t be able to help Meri with. And it was probably a good idea that Magik have all of the facts straight, given a certain clan that doesn’t really exist. You know, the one that definitely all three people in this room are totally not apart of. Meri swirls her whiskey a bit and then glances to Magik, fluttering her lashes at him and offering him a flirty smile, “Welcome to the family, love. We’re a lot sometimes.”

Magik 's soft expression starts to fade into a look more concentrated as he focuses on Khitti's words. He slightly arches a single eyebrow as there's even a mention of an alternate Meri, Merius. Considering that little trick he can do with a wolf soul, Khitti and Khitt's situation doesn't seem too far fetched. Before he can reply to his new sister-in-law, he laughs quietly to his wife, "Have you met the Lyastris? They were a lot all of the time." Back to Khitti. Magik takes a short moment to think to himself then continues, "So, he already knows about the clan, shared memories and all. I.." The elf pauses for a moment to run over a couple scenarios in his head. "Well, alright. What I'm thinking is basically treating him like a Marked, but a step above..I'd like to meet Khitt soon, throw a couple questions at him, etc, then send him on a mission as per the usual recruitment procedure." Magik wasn't trying to get too far ahead of himself, but the thought of having the Khitt(i) combo could come in handy. "What of the other stuff? Or is that meant for a later time?"

Khitti || “You can meet him now, if you want. Brand and Annette enchanted our bracelet, to let us shapeshift in emergencies. Or, in this case, when we’re introducing Khitt to someone,” Khitti said with a smirk. “Which has been happening more than the emergencies.” She gave a clearly dramatic, exasperated shrug. “Next time something like this happens, I’m going to hold a conference somewhere so I can get everyone on the same page at once.” The smirk was still there of course. It eventually went away as her thoughts shifted to the other things.

Khitti || “As for the other things, well… the first sort of is along the same lines as the Khitt thing. Weird things have been happening again to me and Brand, in the form of doors opening to… other timelines. A couple months ago, our bedroom door in the apartment started glowing. It was like… when I made a portal to the Shadow Plane, except it was bright, and sand was falling from the other side of the doorway in a sort of curtain. I thought I was dreaming. And when Brand finally woke up and saw it, he thought he was dreaming too. But, eventually, we deduced that we were not. On the other side of the doorway was this vast desert filled with floating doors. We both opened a few and it was weird. One had Brand and I as vampire in it, torturing a bunch of people in a place that kind of reminds me of Tessa’s fortress in Vailkrin. Another had me as a mermaid, getting chased by this massive seaborn that was half octopus. One of Brand’s had him with my dark magic, lobbing around fireballs and generally being an avatar of chaos. There was another of mine… where the dream Brand and I had been having before my death--where I had become a lich and everyone was dead and all of Lithrydel was burning--was actually real. I started freaking out and Brand started locking the doors. As many as he could. And then he grabbed me and dragged me out of there and logged the bedroom door too. When he opened it again, everything was back to normal and it was the kitchen again.” Khitti shifted her line of sight upwards, crimson brows furrowing as she eyed the ceiling. “A few more doors have opened. On the ship. Here. But, usually, as long as we close the door again, it’s fine. Except the past few times, it hasn’t been fixing itself right away.” The redhead rubbed her eyes a bit and sighed heavily--this time her exasperation wasn’t her being dramatic. “It’s not an all the time occurrence. I could go and open a door now and nothing would happen, because that would be my luck. That’s how it always goes with things like this. But, I wanted you guys to know, in case something happened. I’m going to assume that this isn’t going to clear up on its own, but despite the bad feeling I’ve got in the pit of my stomach about it, it’s going to have to progress for me, Khitt, Brand, and Annette to figure it out.”

Khitti || “And lastly, but the entity I used to be fused with, Amarrah, is back. The reason I had to become a vampire in the first place was because her spirit was corrupting things inside and out. Basically, she was the thing that I thought was an elemental that’s been stalking me for well over a year now,” she said, her attention fixed on Meri. “Turns out she’s a shade. A form of undead that dwells within the shadows. I think she must’ve initially had some form of amnesia because otherwise, I doubt things would’ve gone on as long as they did with her stalking me and occasionally helping me. But the last time I saw her, before all of this, was on the archipelago. That final fight we had, where all the spirits attacked us, she was one of them and I thought that my light magic had killed her, but apparently not… But she seems fine now? I don’t know. I haven’t seen her since… uh… when me and a few others helped turn Kasyr back into a revenant.” She grimaced a little as she thought of that day. She wasn’t sure if she should go into that either, and the fact that Lanlan and Valrae had both died temporarily, and Kasyr almost hadn’t made it out either. “I plan on going to the Shadow Plane again soon to look for her. Not alone though. I plan on dragging another member of the Necromancer’s Guild there with me.”

While Khitti begins explaining the situation to Magik, Meri works on getting everyone refills of whatever it is they are drinking. Beer. Whiskey. Meri returns in time to give Magik a smirk and a faint roll of her eyes when he asks if she has met the Lyastri’s. “I believe I have only met a total of five Lyastri’s ever. And two of them don’t count because one is me and the other is Fleur.” Maybe one day Meri will have the chance to meet more. However, the blonde does not explore this line of conversation, Khitti had plenty to share with them. The first part of Khitti’s story, Meri is familiar with as the two of them have already talked about this prior. The last part? This is new information. Amarrah was back? Meri didn’t even know how she was supposed to feel about that. How was Khitti seeming to feel about it? Figuring that out would be step one in Meri figuring out how she feels about it. The one detail she is not mulling over is just how Magik should handle Khitt. Treat him like one of the Marked? Have him go on a mission? Even if Meri was not looking to use her new found status of wife to sway Mr. Clan Leader’s thoughts, Meri offers the man a nod of acceptance. That seemed like a more than fair course of action to her, but in the end that was for Khitt and Magik to work out. “Well you will have to let me know how this trip to the Shadow Planes goes….” And all other Amarrah related things. Meri might usually be all gung-ho to help her sister in whatever she needs, but another trip to the Shadow Planes was not something Meri was keen on making any time soon.

Magikrios politely shook his head at the suggestion of meeting Khitt tonight. On any other night be would be thrilled but this gathering had a more basic purpose; eating some cake and getting a little tipsy while enjoying some general conversations. "We'll definitely set something up with Khitt soon." As Khitti explains her current situation regarding doors, alternate timelines, and the like, he starts to forget about tasting cake and seems intent on nursing his refilled beer courtesy of the new Mrs.Lyastri D'Chath. He smiles in thanks to Meri. He does a quick count in his head about the remaining two Lyastri that she knows, "Wait who are the other tw--Oh. Mirsh and Rumi.." There's a quiet chuckle before focusing back on Khitti's words. A quick chill goes down his spine as he puts a few pieces together regarding the archipelago. The knowledge that there was an alternate reality where he was thrown to the bottom of the ocean to drown never did sit right with him. He could sympathize with Khitti and Brand seeing different versions of themselves. It has to be unsettling. Before Khitti switches gears to talk about Amarrah, he is sure to make it known that he won't just sit by while they figure out these doors on their own. "Please let me know if there is anything I..," he looks to Meri for a quick moment between his words. Something about marrying someone and also marrying their family. Maybe Magik had a couple of personal beliefs that he tried to stick to, "..We can do to help you guys out no matter how big or small." As for the Amarrah bit. This was new information to him. He never knew of an Amarrah. He has also never been to the Shadow Planes but it did sound intriguing. Meri didn't seem so thrilled about going since she didn't offer to go with Khitti so he adds to Meri's statement, "Yes. Let us know and we can help you with whatever the next steps on, if there has to be further action.."
