RP:A friendly spar between fellow necromancers

From HollowWiki

This is a Necromancer's Guild RP.

Synopsis Pyde asks Joan if she would like to have a sparring match, she agrees and they battle their respective arts against one another.

Dark Arena

The arena is filled with various corpses, both dead and undead alike. Several zombies seem to be carrying the corpses out of the arena, returning them to the masters they served. Many bodies here look disfigured and ill, clearly, abominations constructed by necromancers to serve in the gladiator-like battles held here in the arena. Several of the other bodies though are completely normal, those of which were likely living participants that did not succeed in winning their matches. A battle must have recently gone on here, as the crowds of people step out of the entrance of the area. To the south is the way out, while to the north is a path leading to the back of the arena, and the castle beyond that.

Pyde can be seen scampering about the arena burying bones where they rested as a way to send them off rather than have them exposed to the elements. Most folks don't think about how the dead are treated in a place like this. normally the bones get broken to pieces when stomped on or blasted away when the stronger gladiators arrive. The Mini-Necro was also scurrying about looking for more rat bones for his collection as he went about luckily there were a few to be found. "Haha! Found you!" he exclaims upon his success.

Joan made her way into the dark arena, the vampiric healer casting her glowing gaze about till she manages to spot the Fermin, her hands going to rest on her hips as she strolls up to her fellow necromancer a bemused smile fixed upon her normally icy pale pink lips, "Hey there Pyde! Whatcha up to?!" She ask as she draws in close enough to be heard properly, this was a huge battle arena after all.

Pyde looks up and smiles, "Ah, hello Joan." He holds up some old dry rat bones, " I was looking for some more bones to add to my collection in case we were asked to go do jobs or if we had to go to war or such. An Arena like this is a great place to gather materials." Stowing the bones away in a pouch, the fermin pauses for a moment. "Say what do you think about having a sparring match between our two arts?"

Joan lifts her left hand up off her hip as she lightly sways her head from side to side in thought, the pad of her thumb reaching up to rub at her left earlobe, "I honestly have yet to really do a spar using zombies..."She cast a glance back over her vested shoulder as she eyes Tarian as the skeleton familiar made its way into the arena following close behind Joan, she did earn the thing after making the rank of Thanadule, she could use it to spar and test out her power and control. "Okay sure, excuse me ahead of time as I have not tried to do a spar yet." She shoots a friendly look down at her fellow guild mate.

Pyde waves a hand to the fresh corpses around him. "If you need to build an army I can wait. I can summon my rats in the meantime." The Fermin quickly scampers off to the side of the arena dropping off his life-sized bundle he always carries with him then casts an illusion spell over it so folks are less likely to notice it. When the mini-necro returns he waves his hands about projecting dark violet threads of magic outwards from his fingers. You begin to hear the sound of rattling bones as they clatter across the ground and begin to form skeletal rats. Teeth chipped on some and others gleamed in the torchlight the Dark Arena provided those who weren't necromancers may find the sight rather intimidating. "Ready when you are a friend."

Joan took a ready stance as she shoots a glance about, she settles on a couple of worn-out and well-used gladiator corpses, the vampiric healer holds out her right hand as she reaches inwards and down to her core being, summoning up her necromancy, the dead energy answers, swirling up through her being and focuses out from her held out hand to the two bodies she had visually picked the amethyst colored aura magic flows out to encircle the two dead gladiators reanimating them, jerking upwards the bodies rise upwards back onto their feet each body shudders for a moment as that dark energy gives movement to the body parts. snapping her hand close Joan releases her power, allowing the now shambling zombie gladiators free rein, well as much as a zombie had. "Gentlemen, I need you to fight and attack those little skeletal rats for me. Do what you can." With that the zombie gladiators each pick a target and shamble forward at a jog, each gladiator had a weapon in their hand or hands, fitting or swinging the weapons once they reach range, all this Joan watches as she purses her icy pale pink lips together, this be the first time she unleashed zombies on anyone.

Pyde gives a crack to his joints with a series of pops then gives a small laugh of excitement, "I hope you find this as fun as I do. It will be good practice for you, I hope." With a dramatic twirl and a spinning wave of his hand, the skeletal rats form lines behind the mini-necro. A snap of the finger later and the first wave of rats runs forward past Pyde and after the two corpses. What rats get there first begins gnawing at the dead gladiators' feet if they stand still, and others climb up to begin tearing at the knees.

Joan gives a roll of her shoulders as she watches her zombies, the dead gladiators' feet and knees are attacked by the small army of those skeletal rats, the weapons each held were used to smack and bat at the small army, smacking into them with a hard whack-whack-whack, each zombie lifted and stomped their booted feet, aiming to crush and grind any knocked off rat into the bloodied sand beneath them, in the meanwhile the wounds the attacking skeletal rats takes small dead flesh pieces out of the attacking zombie gladiators.

Pyde grins as he always sent his weaker forces in first to be broken. The Fermin reaches out with a hand to the fallen skeletons, then clenches that hand into a fist, the bones breaking down even more into their base elements of bone meal and calcium. The sand further refined the grinding into finer particles to add to his next wave. "For the Swarm!" he shouts. The particles rise up from the ground and then add to the density and durability of the next wave of rats that was already coming forward to attack the zombies. This time the denser skeletal rats aim for the knees right off. aiming to get a bit more off the zombies.

Joan blows out a huffed breath, which is followed by a chuckle as she gives Pyde credit, that was snazzy. Joan was pretty sure healing her zombies in the middle of a battle would be considered a foul so she reaches out with her dark nerco energies to give a bit more freedom to her zombies, they react quickly. All their long years of battle practice taking hold as one throws itself to the ground, giving a roll in the bloodied sand to hopefully knock off the attacking rats, this one would then rise on its ruined knees to now try to whap the swarm with its weapon harder, putting all its undead strength into the swings. The other one bats off what rats it can, its free hand reaching out to grasp at any near available skeletal rat, moving to crush what it can catch in its strong dead hand, this one had a heavy morning star as its weapon. The zombie uses to bring it down on any nearby skeletal skull, seeking to crush it under the heavy weight of the morning star. Each zombie gladiator is riddled with savage bite marks, chunks of wounded ragged dead flesh can be seen in the torchlight.

Pyde: The sound of cracking bone echoes throughout the Arena. Every crack and pop signifies a skull being crushed or a joint popping out of place, not to mention the teeth being scattered across the sand. That gives Pyde a crazy idea, after seeing the sharp teeth scattering. He reaches out while the zombies are still fighting the other rats for more rat bones, then he connects the magic strings and brings those bones and the scattered teeth together to form something that looks like a spikey chimera rat/hedgehog thing about the size of a medium-sized dog, don't expect it to go fast though. The skeleton charges up to the front lines and then curls into a tooth ball bowling for the two zombies with sharp teeth on its back.

Joan clasped and rubs her icy pale pink hands together as her glowing gaze follows the battle, she would let out a sigh of relief as the skeletal rat army lessens in number, tho her zombie gladiators were pretty chewed up, it was a very good thing that they were zombies and didn't feel the effects of missing and or torn out the flesh and they could keep on fighting even if they were chewed down to bones, it was her dark necro energy that powered the whole thing after all. Joan also spared Pyde glances now and then to observe what her fellow necromancer was up to, as he shouts and smiled the vampire woman would allow herself to feel happy and excited, this was fun, and she was learning. A quick look of concern is given as Pyde makes and sends out the skeletal spikey chimera rat/hedgehog thing towards her two zombies, the one in the clearest path gets bowled into, and those sharp ragged rats' teeth tear into its dead flesh tearing into it. It would swing its dead gaze at the attack bone and teeth creature and now focus all its whacking attacking to try to beat it back and off, its fellow zombie gladiator would follow after once it was mostly free of its remaining attacking rats, its heavy morning star pulled back and sent straight at that creature, Joan hoped it knocks it away and into pieces.

Pyde frowns as his small army of rats were crushed underfoot, then smiles at the success of the attack of the rat hog. However, upon seeing the combined attack of both gladiators' swing at the Rat-hog, the toothy skeleton explodes sending teeth in all directions. Luckily Pyde was of small stature, so he didn't need to worry about dodging too much from the chipped or jagged teeth sent his way. The Fermin waves a small hand and dissipates his magic from any of the skeletons he was controlling. The reinforced bones fall to dust and bonemeal as they get mixed into the sand until the next time a calci-mancer calls on the materials. "Joan I haven't had that much fun in a LONG time. Thank you for giving me the privilege of sparring with you. If you need any help with quests or ranking up don't be afraid to ask."

Joan throws a hand up and out as that rat/hedgehog tooth and bone creature gets shattered, projecting out a force field to protect her from the destroyed creature's flying pieces, it gets hit quite a few times, but none gets through her protective force field. As it now seems to be over the vampiric healer would take down the field and then focus on her two zombies. Now call back the magic that animated gladiators, as magic is sucked out of them and flows back into Joan, she'd call to the now two empty corpses. "Thank you, fellows." Now a loud exhale of breath is followed as Joan treks towards Pyde a smile fixed back on her icy pale lips as she congrats him on a good first spar on her part. "No, thank you, I have never done something like that before, it was a wonderful learning experience. I will most definitely ask you again. Now, I need to head back to the Black Spire and report this so we both get credit. You have a rest of what is left of the evening." With that Joan would turn and depart back to their guild's headquarters.
