About the Weapon
The halberd is a two-handed polearm. It is in a similar shape to the spear and often five or six feet long in length. The weapon is multi-purpose; an axe head is fixed to one side for slashing, a hook on the opposite side for grappling horsemen from their steads, and a pointed tip at the end for thrusting. A versatile weapon, the halberd often is reinforced with steel over the shaft for the purpose of blocking other blades.
