Description:

The Guise is a magically crafted, non-sentient tulpa (spirit body) employed as a means of hiding one's true identity from the closest scrutiny for long periods, without requiring active spell-work or draining mana from its wearer.

Properties:

The Guise is a sort of spirit shell that can be bonded to one's physical body, where ectoplasmic matter it exudes may be changed at will to make the wearer more physically desirable, for example, or resemble somebody entirely different. When not in use it will blindly follow its owner, invisible to all but those individuals who are especially sensitive to the spiritual realm. Breaking this bond may prove a lot more difficult than creating it (see the note of caution below).

Caution:

After repeated use a Guise will begin draining vitality from its wearer, in the process itself becoming more physically manifest, even marginally sentient, and in time may achieve total independence from the wearer. Thus it becomes a rudimentary type of doppelganger, more often than not seeking to do grave harm to the one whose likeness it bears.

It is strongly advised to employ this item once only, for whatever length of time. When used for long periods the wearer should closely monitor their energy levels for signs of leaching.
