Description:

Zekchasz, also known as Chasz by nickname, is a young, stubborn, and very wilful grey dragon within the care of Kirien, and to some extent, Kuzial, whom she considers her true parents. Greys are a particularly rapacious, venal breed, and are one of the most violent dragon species. Chasz already proves herself to be far more of a handful than the young Nameless ever was. Despite still being young, she is stubborn, somewhat haughty, and very intent on doing what she wants to do when she wants to do it. She is fond of hunting games, taking as much pleasure in the thrill of stalking her prey as in consuming it, and is a rather prideful thing. Currently weighing in at a couple of tons, she stands 9 ft at the shoulder and is growing fast, with a voracious appetite. Like her breed, she is of a stockier, rougher build than the typical dragon. Although considerably shorter in the neck and tail than common saurians, Chasz makes up for lack of length by being very thickly built and incredibly tough. Armoured with heavy, jagged scales that resemble worn stone in weight, feel, and durability, her muted colouration allows her to blend well against both rocky landscapes and storm-torn skies. Her eyes are sharp and golden, and she is learning to speak the common tongue...though her manner of speech is not the most polite due to the influence of her guardians. Though she spends a large amount of her time in the Underdark and in the caverns around House Stavret, Chasz cannot speak the language of the drow beyond a few select words and phrases. Her wings are short, ill-suited to long flights, designed more for short glides off of cliff-tops. Instead, her favoured mode of transporation is burrowing, as being an earth-attuned dragon grants her the skill to tunnel into mountainsides as easily as other dragons fly through the air. A row of jagged spikes follow her spine from head to tailtip and the grey's juvenile horns, once small nubs protruding from her skull, have grown into intimidating, rugged points. The end of her tail boasts a steely pincer-like structure - the trademark tail of a grey dragon, and the final component of her frightening and formidable appearance. Her mouth is a sea of sharp fangs and she is beginning to learn how to wield her acidic breath weapon, having grown out of her hatchling stage and into the trials of adolescence.

History:

Chasz' true mother is in fact the venerable grey Ishataulak, whose nest was sought out by Kirien and his comrades during a reckless hunting trip. Intent on pilfering an egg to raise as his own, the terramancer stole the grieving Ishataulak's only surviving egg and unwittingly set off a rather violent chain of events. The egg did not often leave his side and Kirien even brought it to the Underdark when he journeyed to Trist'Oth - there it hatched in the private chambers of House Stavret, where Chasz spent the first few weeks of her life. Bonding with Kirien quickly, she came to view the curious vampire as a mother, follows him around, and tends to grudgingly listen to him where she shrugs others off - though who knows how long that might last, as she grows larger and more stubborn by the day. Kuzial is as much a rival as he is a father figure to the young grey.

Chasz has taken to leaving Kirien's side far more often, gradually becoming more independant from her guardians as she grows. She builds her hunting skill in the darkened caverns of the Underdark, preying on and testing her mettle against the fearsome beasts that already call this place home.
