User, Taarem.

Name: Taarem. Simply, Taarem. He abandoned his last name out of shame.

Titles/nicknames: Captain Taarem, Cap'n, Capitano.

Occupation (Aside from bein' awesome 'n smexy 'n stuff): Former sky raider captain, then paladin, now a demon hunter.

Race: A corrupted avian. Or for the simpletons, an avian corrupted by an unholy deity as punishment for several crimes against his law, like being a paladin. Taarem became a demon hunter because the light would not work it's full powers with him being corrupted and all, and now he seeks revenge.

Social business: Single (Even though he's uber handsome and stuff, no fantasizing please)

The reformed raider

The first attack was countered by a quick command, causing the allied avian raiders to unleash a volley of arrows black as the light sky above them that night. Few fell, but the followers of the divine art persisted. Though outnumbered, Taarem could not help but admire their courage. The endless stream of arrows didn't even stop for a split second. "For the gods!" A huge barrier of golden, bright light formed before the paladins, instantly devouring all the arrows with the heat of flame. Both sides realised that this would end in nothing, as usual, and both the barrier and arrow rain were cancelled at the orders of the respective leaders. "CHARGE!!!" Both sides rushed, eager to slay the other. Many fell, and when the paladins were wounded, they would be shielded and healed by his/her companions. This inspired Taarem as he saw all of his companions fall, every single last one. The leader of the paladins walked up to him, raising his keen blade of justice to end the raider-captains life.

Not saying a word, Taarem stared the white haired paladin in the eye. His face seemed to radiate a sense of justice. He simply stared into the mans eyes as he saw the blade approaching his neck. ~Justice has finally caught up with me..Was about time..~

A strike. A flash. A scream. A saved life.

A barrier, out of nothing, had been formed between the paladins blade and Taarem.

"You shall not hurt this one. His sins have not complete polluted his soul yet, young paladin."

It was a heavy voice, coming from nowhere, sounding like the clashing thunder on a stormy night.

"No....way..."

When sacred and corrupt merge

Having pledged his loyalty to some deity, Taarem became a paladin, trained, kicked ass, and so on.

He was the only shining light in the vortex of darkness surrounding the reformed raider, hovering a hundred yards above the ground in the sky. "You...shall...pay..." The voice of the ancient god was heavy, yet dominant in the further silent area. "You shall pay..For attempting to bring the light to these lands, crusader captain!" Remaining silent for a split second, Taarem burst out in a soft, mocking laughter. Hearing one of his titles uttered by a deity of darkness. "Tss.." the avian raised his eyes to directly face the heavens, in defiance of his opponent. "You should have learned that now!!" The shout was an outlet for all the suffering he had survived, for all the hatred stacked up in his soul. Arms were raised, sword swung high in the air, shining brightly in the darkness. The paladin was clutching the hilt so tightly with both hands that small drops of red blood trickled down his palm, slowly but never slowing approaching his wrists. Using the tip of the purifier as outlet for his overflowing energy he let loose, swinging the sword down with such determination that would even make a god hesitate. He had only guessed the location of the deity at that very moment. It was a weak one, for very few worshipped the ancient god. The arch shaped energy beam Taarem had just lauched hit something invisible in the mid air. Bright flashes, the loud voice screaming in agony.

"Strikeout."

With a faint smile on his face the avian lowered his blade, now flying down, quickly approaching the ground, wings had grown tired.

"It is not over yet!!!!!"

From the ground, several black, metal looking chains rised up, grabbing his limbs and smashing him flat on the ground. Creeping darkness emerged from the grounds surface, washing over the winged paladin like a pitch black tidal wave.

Fade.

Two forms, one soul

Taarem has two forms.

Sealed form: His devout faith in the gods has granted him enough control over the light to remain in a sealed form when not in combat or agitated. The energy, however, quickly runs out when he gets pissed up, or his emotions get the better of him. His appearance is that of a normal avian in this form.

True/corrupted form: This form releases his true appearance. His skin gets drained of any color, remaining pure white. The white of his eye turns pitch black, and his iris a glowing red, his pupil becomes the shape of a cat's. His head will sprout black, demonic horns. His muscle structures became more visible, and in general his speed and strength levels rise by a serious amount, often to the surprise of any opponent not knowledgable about Taarem's situation. Also, his magic turns from defensive light magic in his sealed form, to powerfully offensive magic with considerable devasting force. Any ability to heal or shield fade. Also, the true form has a higher degree of what people call 'bloodlust'.

Minor other details:

Taarem's voice in his true vorm has an eerie, echoing tone that sounds pretty intimidating.

In his sealed form Taarem has a barely visible aura that is pleasant to the senses, in his true form this aura gives a sort of miniature adrenaline rush, mixed with a sense of despair.

Sanctified, shattered, reforged

The Purifier

This weapon, formerly a broadsword of mastercraft when Taarem still was a raider-captain, looks like a common, well made broadsword to the eye, but at the command of his master, it would release it's true form and shine brighter than one thousand stars.

Reconstruction

This weapon, however, was shattered with his corruption. Deeply grieving, Taarem had collected every single shard. With the help of several skilled mastersmiths the shards were merged with Pitchsteel, a very rare sort of extremely sturdy, yet light metal. The appearance is a black scimitar, and in his unsealed form Taarem will only use this form of his weapon.

Sin's Edge

Taarem's true form allows him to release his weapon to reveal it's pure form. Even though the weapon would be more accurately called pure than impure. It looks like a sort of razor whip with thousands of thin, yet devastingly shard razors attached, but that description would not be 100% accurate, the complexity is impressive. Yet, Taarem has mastered to use the weapon, and can perform several attacks with it by whispering commands, just like with the purifier.
