Biography
We wanted power. Who could blame us? While the shadow gnomes
were powerful in their own right, they did not have infinite
wisdom nor did they promise immortality. We wanted more
than what the priests of the dark gods could offer us, and so we
began to search.

The tomes and ancient books became our first obsession. For
hours we would pour over the contents, searching and studying,
often attempting what we read on the nearby plants. You see, we
wanted to be able to manipulate the plants. Gold and silver
could become important but with the control of plants, we
would be unstoppable. It was near impossible to find a place
without plants, and they became our weapons. They could
become toxins, poisonous to breathe in. Could be turned into
something edible yet deadly, slipped to any who dared to defy
or cross us.

Our first attempt was on a tree. We figured it best to start big, and
then go higher. It was an old, oak tree and beneath its leafy
layers were animals and children from the nearby village. This
only pleased us more. A fire would disrupt the plants natural
synergy, and after that it was simple to turn the rising plumes of
smoke into something darker. It had no effect on us. We had
done this before and knew what to expect… but when that first
bird fell from the sky and the children gathered to worry over it,
we laughed. One by one each child fell. Dead. Glazed eyes
looking towards the sky where the source continued to
penetrate the various woodland creatures. The tree died, and we
walked away with a smile while dozens of little bodies littered
the ground.

While this attempt was successful and began a series of just as
promising results, we knew there could be more. To the books
we went once more where we discovered that necromancy was
another subject of interest, and one that could benefit our
knowledge in alchemy. It took us years to master Alchemy, and
we knew better not to test the unknown but we had to, and
eventually we became strong headed enough to test this theory.

Thanks to our trips to the villages there were plenty of bodies to
choose from. We chose those that would benefit us the most’
burly men, tempting women, and a child to lure in prey if this
became necessary. In that village, we would conduct the
experiment. Everything should’ve gone fine, but it didn’t.

The spirits were raised, stolen from the depths of the underworld and
we had nowhere to put them aside from the one living body
available: ours. Each of those atrocious souls pierced my former
body, merging with my soul yet not entirely. The process
created us. Five souls, five voices, and lastly what was my own
voice. Now we are all together.

Oh? What’s that, little pixie? You do not care to hear our story? You
would like me to free you from your little jar? Did you not
notice the tiny flower next to you, slowly decaying as we
explained this to you? Oh, you’re turning black yourself.
Goodbye, little pixie. You’ve failed to keep us amused.
