Siphoneer

A siphoneer is a humanoid creature turned to protoflesh, grown in a vat via necromantic alchemy, and then employed in Empusai abodes as means of siphoning water and other fluids around the structure.

They resemble very large and grossly bloated humanoids with their extremities amputated, their blood and lymph vessels adapted to new uses and lengthened immensely - sometimes for several hundreds of feet. Rain water or blood is funneled into their vast, distended bodies for storage and distribution.

Siphoneers are nearly mindless, but capable of following simple telepathic orders. They are such vile abominations that even the Empusai necromancers choose to keep them hidden away in special chambers near the top of their buildings.

Being turned into a siphoneer is a special torment the Empusai reserve for unworthy foes and especially-despised enemies. Often, the head of the enemy will remain intact and recognisable upon its new, foully bloated and deformed body, just as an additional insult.
