RP: A Bunch of Wolves Walk Into A Bar

From HollowWiki

Summary:MerMag and Lito meet at the JollyRoger to discuss a few things, have some drinks, and strengthen a certain clan that doesn't exist.

The JollyRoger

Lita is none too happy about the events of the summit. And not because Meri had been right. She'd been at least a little hopeful that Kas might have good intentions, but it seemed to matter less with the scope of his recent choices. She storms into the JR, the door slamming open and she doesn't bother to see it closed properly, just makes a beeline for the bar and hopping over it to snag a bottle of honeyed whiskey and a glass. She pours herself a drink, staring down at it for a moment before the bottle still in hand is launched with a loud string of curses towards the eastern wall. The sound of it shattering does nothing to ease her nerves and she lifts her glass for a drink finally.

Meri was equally none to happy with how today’s events transpired. Except her first stop was to Kelay, where she hung around a certain headquarters that only certain individuals are aware of. Until she caught word that it was time to have another conversation with Lita and Leoxander. And so she would travel to Rynvale with Magikrios, probably by smoke? Meri shoulders open the door to the JR, probably followed by Magikrios. She does this just in time to catch Lita launching a bottle across the room, “Are they really worth wasting good whiskey?”

Leoxander wasn’t far behind Lita and the married pair, hearing some of the rough treatment she was putting on the place. It wasn’t nothing it hadn’t survived before but it still made him wince and open the door carefully to step inside. He knew who it was by a fellow she-wolf’s familiar scent and the +1 that was becoming more than a shadow and face now that he was getting to know Magik. “Oh two bloody peas in a pod?! What the hell is Kasyr thinkin’. That’s not gonna throw them into calmer waters.” He headed to the bar, expelling his answer in words, in rare form. But it was usually behind those metal doors when he ever did. “Kas spoke to me like he was already sittin’ in the crown with Lord ‘Let others deal with it’. Tell -me- I’d be compensatin’...” Leo was in a bit of disbelief over Kasyr’s demands and reassurances.

Magikrios was definitely right behind Meri and was yelling something behind her right before he steps into the JR, though his words were not directed at his wife. He was saying something about finding out where that talk of an undead camp in Kelay came from. The Lyastri showed his frustration through the entranceway and all the way to the bar, "Had I known all they were going to do was have a 'junk' measuring contest, I would have stayed in Sage. Complete waste of my time." He plops on a seat at the bar and continues as he looks at Leo, "I should have killed Macon in Xalious last year.." He looks up at Lita and forces a slight grin as he tries to relax, placing a quick order, "Do you have any local beer I can sample?" Ah, in the midst of some political bull, Mag always has time to sample beer away from his lands.

Lita can't help a brief smirk at sight of the blonde artist. Always good to see her back on the island, never mind the reason. "It's not for them." She manages, the thought interrupted by Leo's entrance. She reaches for a trio of glasses and another bottle of whiskey, pouring a round of drinks for the trio without asking if they've a preference. "Got whiskey. I can add water if you like." She tries for a bit of humor but will snag him a beer, 'cause she likes him well enough. "And you really should have." Killed Macon, that was. She drags her attention back to Leo for a moment and then Meri again. "So Kas and Macon workin' together." Supposedly. "So what, that makes Vailkrin Larket's new puppet?"

Meri gives a gentle shake of her head when Lita begins to question what makes Vailkrin Larket’s new puppet. The blonde had no answers to this. “I don’t know. I think anyone who has been in touch with the lands as of late would understand that such an alignment is political assissation.” Meri had very strong feelings regarding Macon, it was no secret. She had watched Larket burn Valrae at the stake. A questioning look is sent Leo’s direction at his summary of what Kasyr had said. Apparently she had missed some interesting statements once she left. “I want to know but I feel like I don’t want to at the same time…” Meri looks toward Magikrios next, “But I feel like politics is only a small part of what is bringing us out here today.”

Leoxander hit a back and forth moment with Macon, first. “The hell that sunuvabish do besides stir up trouble in his own bored and miserable life?” He actually had a hired bartender now, but given her absence would make his way behind the bar to pop the tin caps off a couple cold bottle of Rynvale Ale, but his favorite but he’d share a drink with Mr. Magik. His gaze drifted to Lita and Meri, including all three in the question, “We can’t exactly ignore this an’ expect nothin’ to come of it.”

Magikrios probably drank half of the beer Lita gave him almost immediately, all while checking out his surroundings. Meri was right. There was another reason for wanting to meet with Leo and Lita. Lito? Lito works. He smirks at his wife as he scoots closer to her, "You mean, friendship? Just having some drinks with some friends after getting some weird political news. Mhm." Magik was doing his best and worst attempt at being sneaky, for now. He finishes the rest of his beer and nods his head in approval at Leo, "Damn good beer, sir. Damn good beer." The Lyastri's attitude shifts almost immediately as it's time to get to business. He lowers his voice so just the three others will be able to make out his words, "I'm assuming this is a safe space to speak? With tonight's revelation, we felt this sit down needed to happen sooner than later.." Queue the confused looks from Lito? Maybe? Maybe not?

Lita tosses back her second drink and refills the glass a third time. "I don't think you've gotta be in touch with the land to see that Macon is political assassination." She'd hoped better for Kas. He'd been different once, hadn't he? Better? Maybe she'd only wished it was so. Memories played tricks that way. Whatever irons she'd had in the fire with Kas and Vailkrin already felt dead. With a sigh she slides out from behind the bar as Leo makes his way in. She makes a face at the beers and moves to join Meri in a vacant seat. "What else is on your mind?" Hopefully good new. Would be nice to end the night with some good news. She turns to regard Magik again, lofting a brow at him. "Walls don't talk here, if that's what you're askin'."

Leoxander checked a glance around, sun-spotted nose twitching for a scent, sharp ears searching beyond any noise they made for an out of place sound. He was confident he’d know if someone was in ear’s reach but nevertheless, he stood to lock the double doors with an iron padlock on rarely cinched chains, relying on Lita or the other wolves to pick up on anything he missed. “Till tonight, most likely.” On his way back he collected some spiced rum for himself, and a spare tumbler along with a spare skull etched glass for whoever else wanted to partake. “He’s got some brass to be talkin’ about yer city right in front of you.” Leo poured himself a drink.

Meri did not know Kasyr quite the same way that everyone else in this room seemed to. Maybe that is why she had no shame in blurting out statements like, “He’s like one of those out of touch celebrities. What is it about trying to become the ruler of Vailkrin that makes you a little crazy?” Meri snorts. “Or a lot a bit crazy.” The blonde lifts a brow at her husband when he mentions friendship, “Yes, I mean friendship. It is effectively like friendship, isn’t it? I would hope the lot of us are all friends, of course.” This is stated only after Lita confirms that it was safe to talk here. However, in the end it was Magikrios’ clan and so Meri was keen on letting him do a bulk of the talking. Boundaries and respect go along way in a relationship.

Leoxander said to Meri, "Place is cursed…” He murmured matter-of-factly, a statement he’d warned others with many, many times before. Since washing upon those shores, it was the first place he found work, and the last place he wanted to revisit. Finishing off that first double - doubletime, he poured himself another still shaking his head to what he’d just witness. “There’s gonna be more to this. Maybe he was putting on a pretty face fer his highness."

Meri said to Leoxander, "To what end? What does he gain from convincing us to doubt his judgement and ability to lead by announcing such a poor alliance?"

Meri snorts, "Then again, how we have not managed to get Macon out of Larket yet is also mind boggling..."

Leoxander gave Meri an exaggerated stare at her last murmured statement. Hopefully ‘yet’ was part of the plan.

Lita rolls her eyes. "Larket made her own bed years ago."

Magikrios nods at Lita then looks to Leo, "Had this summit been, what, two years ago, I would have snatched that person of the press up and took him to the skies to see what they knew or if they were just starting a smear campaign on Kelay. Undead camps. There better not be..But, being in the current position that I am, that we are," meaning him and Meri, "that wouldn't have been good for Kelay at all, not with all of those eyes watching." Speaking of eyes watching..Magik lets Meri confirm what the D'Chaths had planned for this evening and gets straight to it. "Meri and I, along with a few other faces, have been leading a secret group all across the continent. We do not speak of our name in public, but we have a wide influence in places you'd never expect. We were quite busy in Xalious a little while ago, but it seemed that everything had quieted down. And, quiet is good. But, with Larket showing its ugly face once again and Vailkrin now along the side of them, we feel we might have to get busy once again. We need more eyes and ears throughout the lands. Sadly, we have limited resources out this way. Meri has spoken highly of you two and we thought it would be worth bringing you two in to our secret little society.." How was that? It's been quite some time since Magik has had to give a speech like that. He thinks to himself for a short moment then nods, "If you're not interested, it's completely understandable. No hard feelings, at all."

Leoxander didn't beat around the bush. "You know my stance. Especially now, best to keep our alliances close but under the radar. Don't wanna spoil the surprise if they start trouble." He checked a small window toward the top of the warehouse roof. "Lora might be expectin' me, soon. I won't make her a target for secrets."

Lita taps an index finger against the rim of her glass as Magik speaks. In truth, she'd been hoping to make an ally of Kasyr. But now, well, there was no way she was aligning her interests with Larket and the Bas-turd King. "I think we're gonna need all the eyes and ears we can trust in the coming days." Whether that meant an alliance for Kelay-Sage and Rynvale seemed a moot point. If they were going to make any sort of united front against Kasyr and Macon, it was going to be bigger than politics. It would have to be. Neither of them would fight clean or fair. She takes another sip of her drink. "Got nothing shy of respect for the both of you." She says to Magikrios. "Don't know you as well, but I know Meri and I trust her. She puts her faith in you, I've no reason not to do the same." She finished off her drink. "Now, do we get cool little secret decoder rings or something?" She's teasing. The day needs a little levity.

Leoxander rolled his eyes at Lita, but there was a smirk.

Meri blinks a couple times at Leo. “Do I know your stance?” The tattooed blonde makes a vague Lita’s direction. “Her stance, that is clear to me. Make fun of me and call me blonde or something.” Speaking of Lita, the blonde turns her attention back to the vamp champ. “Well, we do have fancy little rings but…” Her attention shifts back to Leoxander before the blonde seems willing to speak much more on the matter. “Off to see Lora? Now who is all domesticated.”

Lita said to Meri, "You're not gonna make us build you a treehouse on the island, are you?" She grins and then leans close to add a murmured, "And he's definitely domesticated."

Meri thinks on the idea of a Rynvale Treehouse, "I mean a treehouse on the beach...." Oh no Magik, Meri thinks it sounds like a good idea. Quick, try and talk her out of a third home.

Leoxander pulled out of a forward lean from the bar with a comment. "Not yet. Maybe I jus' found one as wild as me that can't bloody sit still and could come looking for either of us on a whim. I'll find a place a bit more suitable when we have these precious moments." Finishing off his drink and shrugging out of that unbuttoned duster, he looked between the married pair. Yer welcome to stay. Nobody round here is likely to make a fuss or give a snuff."

Leoxander said to you, "So whad'we gotta do?"

Magikrios chuckles and nods, "I think we have a ring or two laying around, along with a couple other neat trinkets that we utilize." And a HQ, and an armory. And some stills and tabletop beer brewing equipment. Maybe something that lets the members keep in touch with each other. Maybe. Maybe another secret location in Larket to keep our enemies literally close. Maybe.

Meri said to Leoxander, "You stole a saddle for us with me. All you got to do is say yes."

Lita lofts a brow at Magik. Clearly a bit of exploration would be necessary and she's not mad about it. She needs a good excuse to stop wearing the Cap'n's ring anyway. It's been long enough. "Look forward to picking through it and I guess adding some toys as well." She offers a playful wink. "Any chance we get to meet the other players?" She asks, glancing from Magik to Meri and back again.

Meri dips her head in a nod to Lita, confirming that Meri would be more than happy to introduce Lita. "You know I'm happy to show you the ropes."

Leoxander had been so certain of his answer until the question was actually presented to him. Then his tracks of his mind shifted back and forth. He hadn't been in a 'clan' since days of the sin-eater, and it was more daunting than he realized. But, he had more than himself to think of, now. "Let's see if I fit in, then." A hand offered toward Magikrios, or Meri if she seemed more ready to receive a grasp of forward from the pirate.

Lita said to Meri, "You can show me ropes anytime you like, doll."

Magikrios reaches his hand out to grasp Leo's and gives it a firm shake to seal the deal. "For now, we watch. We have to see how this plays out. Meanwhile, we get you two up to speed with access to our base of operations, communications, etc etc." Magik then looks at Meri, "And we have to get Sage ready for the worst. He also wasn't against the idea of a treehouse on a beach. Sounds romantic. Might lead to another little Lyastri..So, no arguement there. However, he nods at Lita, "Of course. Some you may already know, to be honest."

Meri :: It was settled! Since Magik is nice the mature adult who actually takes Leo’s hand and shakes it? Meri takes the more immature route. The blonde welcomes him to the clan with a light bro-punch to his shoulder. “If I thought you would not fit in, I would not have suggested it.” Her attention flits back to Lita, smirking at the vamp champ’s flirty little comment. “Yeah? Maybe next time you’ll actually climb up the rope wall we build,” Meri teases. Her attention shifts back to Magikrios, “Want to take the long way home?” Whatever that was from Rynvale to Kelay.

Lita manages a slight look of surprise at Magik. Some she already knew? She shouldn't be surprised, and yet. Loyalty was about the get a whole lot messier. Secret societies, cities, friends and loved ones they were trying to keep safe. Little pieces of themselves put in all different directions. Lita manages a little sigh. One problem at a time. She glances to Leo. "Guess we'll have to ready the island as well."

Magikrios said to Lita, "Let us know what you need. We can always send some elves from the village to give you a hand on small projects if need be."

Lita nods at Magikrios. "Appreciated. Might take you up on that, we'll see."

Leoxander raised his jaw with a low spoken, 'Likewise." But they would have to excuse the fact the JR's business came around that hour in the evening, so he made his ways to the door to unlock and prop them open. "You two comin' to the bash next new moon?"

Lita said to Meri, "Climbing is not what ropes should be used for." Lita has no shame, and cares not that Meri's husband is in the room. She gives him a playfully judgy once-over look and mumbles, "You're doing it wrong."

Magikrios and Meri make their exit now that business has been handled. Maybe he'll take Lita's advice and tie Meri to the bed later so he can actually have the blanket all to himself for once. Hmm.
