RP:Ynhaldei meets with Linn

From HollowWiki

Rolling Hills

A cool breeze rolls over your back. These hills are covered in lush, deep green grass, and this park seems to be well taken care of. There are patches of wildflowers growing all around these hills. All around are people playing sports and games, and some children running rampant as their parents stand by and enjoy a respite from their constant pestering and numerous questions that all kids ask. You duck as a ball whizzes past your head, almost hitting you, and you hear an apology from a group of teens playing soccer. You pick the ball up and toss it back to them and they resume the game where they left off. As you look up to the high peaks of the mountains that surround this peaceful valley, you find yourself standing in one of the many scenic views of Hollow. To the east is a picnic area and to the south is a beautiful fountain.

Linn was currently set apart from the camp continuing to test and adjust the enchantments he was making for his armor, the plates forming an empty shell that he’d normally fit into. Despite the lack of physical connections between the components on the ground, it behaved much like a ragdoll as he manipulated the various ‘limbs,’ whether it was trying to pull them apart, ram them together, or bend them through various ranges of motion. Picking the ends of one of the ‘leg’s up it bent backwards at where his knee would be inside… that needed to be fixed. Again he sat down next to the plates in a bit of a trance as he continued adjusting his work.

Ynhaldei soon found her way into the mountain. She rarely goes up her, being a desert dweller herself, she isn't really used to the cold. With a simple coat on, over her usual garb. Professional looking as always... slacks, heels, corset, blouse, gloves and a top hat. All finely sewn from the most luxurious silks and crafts. She soon walked into the hills, glancing about in the camp as she look for the man that supposed to be wearing armor. No one... Is she lost? A possibility, she sighs and started to walk around till she finally found someone, casting a spell and toying around with an armor. She peers in close enough without invading his security or privacy. "They do say, if a man's armor is shiny then his sword never tasted flesh before. A logical thought that would either result to.. a person never fought anyone before or ran away from every opponent." she simply smiled at him, tapping her hat before bowing at his direction. "Mr. Linn, I presume?"

Linn continued working on the armor until addressed, not knowing the sight of Ynhaldei himself. Her statement brought a chuckle and a light shake of his head. “That depends. Was the armor meant to be shiny? Or is it just an unfortunate consequence of its construction? It’s appearance does get rather silly at times though…” A sigh as he looked down on the few plates that had the metal on their pointed ends replaced solid white sapphires. It just gets worse and worse with his line of work it seems. When the names finally came he turned and nodded, brows raised curiously. “Ahh, you’re probably Miss…” He was hung on the pronunciation of a name that was much easier to write than it was to speak.

Oh my... where are my manners." she soon took off her hat and look upon the empty void within. "There they are..." grinning at her own joke before bowing before the man, "Ynhaldei.. Or simply Miss Yin as most call me, Entertainer, Entrepreneur and Circus Master of the Travelling Misfortune. A pleasure." Soon enough she moved back and placed the top hat back to her head and said, "Would this place be safe for this conversation?" glancing about. "Secrecy is quite important for our task in the near future." She moved toward a large rock and quietly sat onto it, watching the man from a distance... well technically she can't see but the sound waves from her surroundings is enough to allow her to map out where he is, what is his build and what he looks like.

Linn smirked at the joke himself with a nod. “Good to meet you miss Yin.” Best to stick to the easy name right? “I’m Linn, not too much more to say. I do enchanting work, finding trouble, nothing too special.” At the mention of secrecy he tightened a little before looking in at the camp with a sigh and some thought. “No one in the camp would hear us where we are, but if you want to go further away we can.” Without wearing the plates his build and outfit would be somewhat easier to discern; leather over his body studded with a number of star-cut gemstones with more mithril scale and finemail over his abdomen and joints. His build itself was fairly average, fit from a great deal of activity, though uncannily lean with little to no fat. Depending on the level of detail Ynhaldei may be able to discern she could possibly notice the chaotic scars that covered his entire backside, torso, arms, legs and all.

Oh, Ynhaldei can see it.. all of it, but ofcourse she would not go into details to what is... available. She simply nods as if she ignored what she saw. She was checking if he was armed... He is. But not something she is completely concerned about. Mostly she is looking for mechanisms or contraptions that she won't be able to anticipate. Swords or knives however is pretty basic that even her can parry. She crossed her arms against her chest and said, "We'll be fine here I guess... Though I have to say.. doesn't gemstones makes the armor.. a bit heavy? I mean all the intricate detail work would add weight. Most of the time, fashionable gear doesn't really turn the tide but hey, Who am I to judge without seeing it first hand." she smiled and tapped her chin and said, "Well before I provide you the plan, would you mind telling me your skills? I would need to find out where your talents would fit in this mission."

Linn certainly kept a couple blades on his person, one behind the back as well as one to his side, though the latter was dull as a spoon by now. The armor possessed surprisingly few, if any mechanisms, though the ends of the plates did form points sharp enough to make for some very painful blows, the gem-tipped ones likely even being capable of drawing blood with enough force. At the notion of the gems making the armor heavy he shrugged. “No heavier than similar stuff made of steel. It’s still light enough to get used to. The gems though… they all serve their purposes in the end.” He turned to sit on the assembled chestplate, testing its ability to support his weight without anything inside and use it as a stool. It held… for now. Queried on his skills his head idly bounced from side to side as he thought. “Well, there’s the enchantment deal. Constructs, tools, devices, I might be able to make something depending on the purpose needed. Other things? I get around a lot so I could run something through pretty bad conditions. And even with all this…” he knocked on the metal shell he sat on. “I can still navigate some nasty terrain. All about being in the right place at the right time to do the right thing.”

When the man spoke of 'devices' the idea popped into her head right away, listening to him and waiting for him to stop as she doesn't want to rudely interrupt him. "Can you make bombs?" It was a straight forward question. "Something that can do enough explosion to blast a crater or topple a structure once it is planted on a support pillar?" she tilts her head alittle as she watched him toy with his armor. Impressed with it but it wasn't what she is after for now. Even Mr. Desparrow is having trouble coming up with ideas for the explosives, she has already the plan in mind but it would not work without the proper components. "I would also assume you are not really the type that toys with stealth?" looking upon the man's armor, the noise such would generate would be impossible to hide.

Linn blinked the moment bombs were mentioned. Damn it Desparrow, what are you looking to do with BOMBS? Still, though… a nod. “I may be able to. I can definitely set up a crystal to burst, but making something that could break a pillar? Just a matter of energy. Not something I’ve done before, but what you’re looking for is a lot of force. I can probably do it.” When stealth was mentioned he couldn’t help a chuckle. “I prefer not to be noticed before I do whatever is needed. Though that art certainly isn’t my primary work.” The noise, surprisingly, came mostly from the scales on his abdomen, given the way the plates were held together they didn’t have any ways to really bump or clang against each other. That still did absolutely nothing for its bright appearance however; the only place that it could blend in would be a snowstorm. Or a hall of mirrors.

What I seek is a bomb that can shatter solid, reinforced rock and cement. It doesn't have to be.. deadly, with all fragmets scattering and stabbing the people around, no, that's not the point. But for you to understand easily, let me tell you the plan." she stood up from her seat and moved closer to him, taking off her hat as she pulled out a large scroll from it. A simple magic trick, mostly for convinience to allow her to carry various objects with ease. She placed the hat back onto her head and spread it about, sitting near the man and rolling it enough for him to take the other edge of the paper. It was a map of Cenril. Although this map has came through alot apparently. Drawings, lines and other writings peppered the map itself, as if the elf has carefully planned this mission in hopes it would come through perfectly. "The plan is this, first the infiltrating group will meet at a cave, outside of Underdark. There is a cave there that is riddled with bug bears but those can be easily dispatched. I do own a Desert Wrym that can dig through rock and earth with easy, from the cave, we would dig horizontally towards the gorge. At that depth, it would be impossible for anyone to spot it. Soon enough the beast will dig diagonally upward into the city. If possible, give us access to the wall's pillars and probably rig it. But that is not a priority. Desparrow said he would have an army that would assault the city from outside, if he needed assistance, we can destroy this side of the wall. But again.. if you cannot come up with enough explosives, it is fine, that wall is an optional target. Now.. as the beast continue digging, it would stop at the last few meters in which some workers will dig manually, finally finding ourselves underneath the bath-house. Three or Five men will enter the bath-house, through the basement and exit by the front door, finally hiding in an alley. Now the rest of the team will move forward, following the sewers and finally going west.. underneath the Beloy Street." tracing her finger upon the map as she does so." Then stop here, in front of the Cathedral of the Three Divines. This street is our first objective. As we are underneath this one, We need a bomb here, enough to level the street, rendering the road useless. It has to be triggered remotely somehow. This street at the north of the Cathedral is the only road that connects the Warrior's Headquarters into Cenril, destroying this road will delay reinforcements once the assault from the outside has began. Anyway, once the street is rigged, we have to move a few more west then one south. This places us underneath the Belfry Tower. As towers of this size needs would need quite of a foundation, I am certain that it is connected to the sewer somehow. Now.. this tower would be our temporary base. From there, two groups would leave, one to confront the Vice Mayor.. If he is in his home that is, North West of the Belfry Tower, The Mayor's Mansion. Just in case you are unaware.. Mr Desparrow has killed the current mayor.. so.. yea.." she shook her head as she continue. "The other group as to leave to South West toward the Capitol Building. They have to seize this building at all cost. Now, whoever did not leave for the mayor or the capitol has now have to take care oft his compound. The Belfry Tower, the Cathedral of the Three Divines and the Priest Headquarters. Now, capturing this building gives us a foothold in the city. We can disable the church's bell so when the attack begins, the Warrior camp won't be warned. No orders will come out from the capitol and the mayor's house either. So now the assault can commence. The 2nd bomb has to be placed underneath Belfry tower by the way.. it has to be precise as we need to drop the tower at the certain angle. The rest of the crew will use the Cathedral as archer nest to snipe any soldiers that would attempt to reinforce the eastern wall. With the bell compromised, it would be possible that the people from the wall will send someone on foot or on horse to request manually. That is why I left the five people in the alley, to ambush this runner. Soon enough the Camp will realize the attack, we would use the captured priests as meatshield and if we can't stop them from pouring out the street, we can destroy the road. If they are sitll persistent, destroying the tower's supports will cause it to fall diagonally and destroy the road further. The only gap in this mission is the south, where the merchant street is. Cenril is known for its Gangs and chaos they provide. As Mr Desparrow mentioned, he has some friends that are dragons, so I was thinking that they could fly in massive crates that hold people. That would take over the Merchant Street, especially the weapons and armor shops to ensure that a milita would not be assembled.

Linn watched and listened as the plan unfolded positively stone-faced, a blink coming in recognition at various points and buildings that would be destroyed. It was a lot to take in, and he was doing everything he could to memorize the details, even the ones that didn’t directly involve him. When the statement concluded a lengthy silence followed until he sharply spoke up. “And just what are you all looking to do with this? I understand the city is expected to get destroyed but this seems… complicated. We’re running a good risk of destroying what Desparrow is looking to save with all this destruction.” Hopefully the natural aversion to the chaos would be passed off just as such: natural.

You cannot harvest the wheat without trampling over the plant itself. My plan is simple.. Destruction of a road and a tower. That's all I ask... Though the collapsing tower... maaaaaaay damage other structures, that is no longer my concern. The fact that the enemy could not reinforce the east is enough for me. I do not care about the city... I told Mr Desparrow about this plan and he seems to like it. That's all there is." To a person that doesn't care of the consequences of one's actions. One can really see how chaotic one's mind is. She cannot be bought, bribed, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. She just wants the world to burn. She smiles slightly, though trying to hide it as she rubbed her cheek with her hand. "He wanted the city.. never told me how much of it has to be whole."

Linn continued looking at the map as he thought on just what to make of this plan. Refusing was not an option he really had right now, and would likely have repercussions just as bad as anything else that might happen. Eventually he sighed with an accepting nod. “I can do it. Hell, I’d place the bombs myself if it means making that tower fall the right way. Desparrow’s not one to let a missing person dampen his plans, and if we can’t do what we expect to do… it’s gonna get even messier.” A sigh as he went over the resources needed; he’d need something capable of packing a lot of concussive force. “So, three bombs, one to heave up a road, one to open a wall, and one to shatter a support?” he questioned to confirm the order.

Ynhaldei nods at the man and said, "But again, the wall is merely an optional objective. besides, destroying a wall of that size is nearly impossible. That wall is as thick as a castle's so probably would happen is the interior framework of the wall would be the one jeopardized. Cause havoc within its interior and probably damage it enough that archers won't be able to go back up the top of the wall." Soon enough she starts to roll the map and stuff it back at her hat. "For the resource however, I would suggest that you contact Mr Desparrow yourself. For your part in this mission, aside from rigging the bombs, I would assume you care capable of taking hostages? I mean the priest headquarters and the cathedral will have quite a number of people. Even if the building is closed or the infiltration was timed past midnight. There will still be a sizable number of people to stuff into the priest headquarters and someone has to watch them. I am simply saying this because what we need on top of the cathedral are archers or mages.. not a melee warrior."

Linn breathed a deep sigh before pursing his lips at the idea of being further in the city as things went on. “I’d rather keep my involvement in this plan to a minimum. I can make your bombs and even set them, but I don’t want to be in the city the night things start moving. The most I’d do is help guide the civilians to get out. This armor would at least help with that. They wouldn’t have a problem seeing me for sure.”

Ynhaldei scratched her chin alittle as she pondered. "Mr Desparrow actually want the civilians to remain to the city... I mean, what is the point of having a city if it doesn't have man power?" Though there might probably more reason for that. "How about.. this. You'll lead the rest of the hostages across the street into the capitol building? I mean, The capitol building would be siezed, it would be far easier to defend a single building than two. Besides, There will be more people to watch over the hostages. You can take a break, have a bit of relaxation till the assault ends." She placed the hat onto her head as clearly she is about to leave soon, she still has a couple of people to meet, waiting for the man to decide.

Linn blinked and slowly shook his head as the ideas flew. “I won’t do it. Being in the city for something like this as it happens is already risking a lot for me. Too many questions would come, and I’d rather have something true backing up where I was than some kind of constructed alibi.” A beat, “The bombs I’ll do. But for some kind of operator that night… you need to find someone else that won’t attract so much scrutiny.”

Ynhaldei simply raised her hands and said, "Alright... Your call. However I do not want to taint your name in any way so I think it would be best if you tell Mr Desparrow your decision. Nonetheless, the explosives will be come handy. But for now, I must leave." she removes her hat for a second, bows at the man. "Until next time Mr. Linn." before finally leaving.
