RP:When Love Grows Sour

Never Freezing Fountain

As you step into this area you see a large fountain that sparkles brilliantly with cerulean water. The base and pedestal of the fountain are carved from a dark, glossy stone precious to Frostmaw for its resemblance to black ice, while at the center of the structure, perched atop that pedestal, is a behemoth wolf, its head thrown back in an eternal, defiant howl to the frigid heavens above. It is clear an artisan's hand sculpted this beast of gold, so life-like is its appearance that it seems ready to spring down from its place at a moment's notice. However, such a feat would be impossible for the wolf even were it alive, as its paws seem to be bound to the fountain's base by heavy chains of a dusky red-gold engraved in coutnless runes, shackling it in place until the end of time. A flaw is evident in the statue upon closer inspection, as one of the animal's front limbs is missing, appearing to have been broken off midway and never repaired. As you move closer towards the fountain to pass or go through the area, a frost biting steam can be seen hovering about its contents, and though the steam is as cold as ice, the water runs purely, kept in such a state by the fiery warmth emanating from its wolfish guardian. The life giving fluid glows with a magical property, but its reason here is unknown to you, and perhaps one day you will find an answer. To your east is a road, to your west is another road.

Misaki had crashed into the ground here. And stayed. Not that she could really move. Her right wing looked broken. And there was blood in the snow where she ha scraped her shoulder. That's what happens when a raging, confused Avian goes flying in winds raging as much as she is. Tears fell from the avian's eyes, landing in the snow and freezing. She already had little icicles growing on her eyelashes.

Kovl walks into the clearing, clutching his cloak closed in the midst of that horrid climate of Frostmaw. He stands tall in his avian disguise, reaching 5'9" in height. Pearly-hued feathered wings decorate his back, covering his true form. Seeing the avian prone near the fountain, Kovl first takes a quick glance at his surroundings in the rare case this may be a trap. His ears burn in effort to hear any visitors. Nothing. Hurriedly, Kovl makes his way to the wounded avian and inspects her wing. He doesn't run, but he isn't walking either. "Are you okay? What happened?" Upon closer inspection, he sees this is the avian he met not long ago. The pixie's eyes scan the area again.

Misaki still couldn't move. But she did hear the avian in disguise, and even recognized his voice. "...I don't know," she said miserably, "a... bunch of things. I don't.... I don't know what is what anymore..." She hiccuped. "...I'm so confused..."

Kovl's attention is drawn back to the avian. "Are you hurt?" The pixie checks her shoulder. He is certainly no healer, and he couldn't quite tell if there were other injuries below the surface. The pixie leans closer to Misaki and reluctantly pulls a crystal from his clothing and places it next to the avian's cheek. It grows warm, heating her face from the harsh cold.

Misaki opens her eyes a little, feeling the icicles of her tears fall off her face. "...my wing is broken," she stated, "and I injured my shoulder..." she wiped at her face and sniffed. All at once, the beautiful young avian burst into a fresh round of sobs. "WHY?!" she screamed into the air, "WHY ME?! Why... why does... it always happen... to me..." Her entire body shook with the strength of her grief.

Kovl flinches back as the avian begins to scream unexpectantly. The pixie certainly is is more familiar with more jovial circumstances than these. "Maybe because you're clumsy, eh?" The pixie tries to make light of the situation. "Are you able to get up?"

Misaki shook her head. "...no...." she said, "I'm not talking..." hiccup "about this." hiccup. She tried to push herself to her feet, but her right arm started to shake. And the pain from her wing was excruciating. It'll be a while before the bone fixed itself. Misaki managed to get herself into a sitting position, holding the warm crystal in her hands. She extended said crystal to Kovl. "...I apologize," she said, "my... life is one big ball of confusion."

Kovl, watching the avian struggle to get up, helps her to her reclining position, careful to not injure the avian further. He gestures toward the crystal saying, "It seems like you need to hold on to that crystal just a little bit longer. At least until we get you somewhere where you can have your wing looked at. I have something that can help us get you somewhere warmer." The pixie runs his fingers along a bag on his right side. "What is wrong?"

Misaki looks down at the crystal. Fresh tears spille from her eyes, freezing in the frigid air before shattering on the ground. "...I don't even know," she said, "I... I..." she started sobbing, "I don't even know how it started... I..." she hiccuped again, "my best friend... killed one of my companions..." hiccup "...and then... I met someone... special to me. And... he asked me to be his... girlfriend." She Wiped furiously at her eyes, but the tears wouldn't stop. "Then... just now... in the tavern... I saw the two of them... my best friend, and my... special person... they were... flirting." She hiccuped again and started bawling.

Kovl steps closer to Misaki, his dark green eyes appearing to be sympathetic. His mind is racing to recall a few details. Mythayus spoke of Chakor murdering his friend. And here, this avian is presumably speaking of at least Chakor. The drake the pixie saw earlier has already been decided in Kovl's mind as the friend Chakor killed. Could Misaki be speaking of Chakor? Who is the other? "Like... your two lovers? Flirting? With each other?" This is juicy gossip. The pixie places his right hand on Misaki's shoulder gently. "I'm sorry that's happened. But you can't be sitting out here in the cold. You'll die."

Misaki pulls her shoulder away. "I don't want to go back to the Tavern..." she said, "they're... there." She shook her head. "Chakor, my best friend... and... Myth." She looked at Kovl, "you saw him at my companion's funeral. The two of them... were flirting. And... I'm pretty sure there was more going on when I wasn't there." She shivered. The effect of the warming ale she had before she left was obviously leaving her system.

Kovl || An audible hm escapes the pixie's throat as he hears the names. The pixie nods when the avian mentions where he met Mythayus. "That's... a bit surprising. Mythayus accused Chakor of murder not long ago..." Kovl's knowledge of the two's background finally escapes his lips. "If not to the tavern, where would you go? I don't know Frostmaw very well." The pixie looks thoughtfully at the avian. "Can you walk at all?"

Misaki stretches her wings, wincing slightly. "...give it a few... minutes..." she said with a hiccup, "my wings... regenerate damage. I will... be able to move soon." She took a deep breath. "Yes... Chakor was the one who killed my companion." She nodded again. "...the young drake who was being burned that day you saw me and Myth together."

Kovl reaches into a messenger bag hanging on his left side. He nods at Misaki as she speaks. "If you cannot walk, I have a way to transport you to... somewhere. Not the tavern." The pixie retrieves a snowflake shaped amulet and holds it up. "One moment." The pixie walks a distance from the avian, and with his back turned to Misaki, he speaks into the amulet quietly.

Misaki tilts her head. "...then where... are we heading?" she had a small spasm. She looked a little calmer, though her nose was still running and her eyes were still red. Venting helps, regardless of what everyone else says.

Kovl keeps his back turned to Misaki as she asks her question. He seems to be waiting for something, holding the amulet to his ear. Suddenly a letter appears, fluttering as if it had wings directly in front of the pixie. A confused and then amused expression is on Kovl's face as he snatches the letter from the air, reads it and walks to the avian once again. "There are healers in the city who can help you. A friend told me." Kovl holds the letter in the air. Placing the letter in his bag, the pixie opens a pouch, holding a small amount of powder. "If you'll let me use this on you, we can float you to one of them, and we can talk more there or on the way."

Misaki nodded. "...when we get there," she said, "it would... give me time... to calm down." She was wiping at fresh tears.

Kovl sends a pulse of magic through his arm to the dust in his hand as he throws it onto the avian. The illusion of his avian wings flicker out and then into existence. She would soon begin to float in the air, feet from the ground, helpless to move herself unless she could reach a nearby object for anchorage. The pixie moves behind her and begins to push her gently, guiding her through the air into town, stopping only to ask a frost giant for directions.

Healing Room

The room is calming and welcoming as you step into it. You see various salves and prepared herbs, as well, you take in a deep breath and the sweet smell of inscence fills your lungs. Shortly after your arrival into this backroom, the shop keeper follows you, to assist any any healing you require for a small fee.

Eleenin, the shaman is here.

Kovl tucks an Aramoth holy symbol into his shirt as he continues into town, pushing Misaki through the doors to Eleenin the shaman healer. "My friend here broke her wing and hurt her shoulder. Can you help?" Eleenin nods and Kovl slips some gold into his hand. Eleenin leads the two into the back of his shop and instructs the avian to take a seat. The pixie points toward the door as if there was something of interest. Eleenin turns, and at that exact moment, a pulse of magic comes from the pixie's hand. He catches the avian as she falls into his arms. Kovl's wing illusion fades again for a moment before reappearing. Eleenin looked at the pixie with curiosity, unsure of which he only caught a fleeting glimpse.

Misaki wiped at her eyes. "...thank you for bringing me here," she said. The blood on her shoulder had frozen. But her wing looked perfectly fine. Eleenin clicked his tongue. "That regenerative ability of yours..." he said, going about to fix Misaki's shoulder, "if only it wasn't just your wings, aye?" Misaki nodded with a slight smile. She then nodded to Kovl. "I don't think I got your name," she said.

Kovl smiles at the healer as if he were unaware of what the healer thought he saw. "You're welcome. It would be a shame to die in this hell, huh?" Again the pixie smiles at Misaki, glancing up at Eleenin only briefly without apology. "My name is Kove. And yours?" The pixie held out his hand. "I'll take that crystal back now, if ya don't mind."

Misaki handed Kovl back his crystal. She had completely forgotten it was still in her hand. "I'm... Misaki," she said, "Just Misaki." She sighed. "...and I'm sorry to dump my troubles on you like that."

Kovl brings his hands up after taking the crystal from the avian's hand. "No. It's fine. You can tell me more about what was going on. It can certainly help take the stress off of you. Now your friends were..." Kovl shot a look at Eleenin before continuing, "Talking."

Misaki looked down. "...they were giving each other looks," she said, "that alone says enough doesn't it?" She frowned. "...I'm... new to this. This 'love' thing. So... I odn't really k now what to do. What I'm -supposed- to do."

Kovl's smile grows a little wider as Misaki looks down. This is too good. His expression fades as he answers. "So obviously you had feelings for these two, but they forsook all that for... each other. " Kovl thinks. "Hmm, that's quite an odd situation. I wouldn't know what to do either. Did ya try punching them in the faces?"

Misaki shakes her head. "...no," she said, "I... I don't deny what you said... but... I wouldn't hurt them for that." She was still considering removing Chakor's eyes though. "...this is so complicated," she said, wiping at her tears again. Eleenin finished wiping the frozen blood off the avian's shoulder and was now tending to the actual wound.

Kovl shrugs. "Perhaps it would knock SOME sense into them. You're a beautiful gal." The pixie smiles again. "Them falling for each other is no fault of your own, but it certainly can make a great story." He lets out a short laugh.

Chakor walked into the back room of the healers shop so that he could have Eleenin take a look at the wound on his abdomen he had received the week before. Centuries of fighting and being a lycan had made his body into a self healing unit more or less. Most cuts and scrapes healed up in just a day or two but the massive trauma he had sustained was more than just a papercut. The sound of voices catches his attention and he looks up to see Misaki being tended to by the healer. There was another avian standing buy Misaki that he did not know. Looking between the two he turned his attention to his feathered former friend and spoke. "Misaki, I know that no matter what I do, you will never forgive me for what I did to buddy. I do not deserve forgiveness for it. But do not be angry at Mythayus because of me. I did not want to fall for this man but I have. He cannot help how beautiful he is to me. So please Misaki, at the very least, Forgive him."

Mythayus followed behind chakor. His gaze went to the ground as he heard her name. He was quiet listening to what she was going to say. He was using his bangs as a shield.

Misaki only needed to hear Chakor's voice. Her face turned away from both of them. "...get out of here," she said, all too calmly, "I don't want to look at either of you." Her hand, the one with the injured shoulder, was twitching. Aching for a weapon to be in her hands, no doubt.

Kovl looks at the new visitors as they appear, and the not-so-tiny pixie is filled with excitement as the scene develops before him. He is trying to hide his smile at Chakor's words, and apart from a few tightened grins, the pixie is successful. The first speaker must be Chakor, and oh, there is Mythayus. The unfolding of this love triangle is happening right before him! Kovl gives a slight nod of acknowledgement to the two. He stays silent for the moment as he watches the three interact. Kovl's eyes meet Eleenin's as the healer continues to mend Misaki's wounds.

Chakor 's eyes notice Misaki's slight twitch, she looked so angry and lost at the same time. "Damnit Misaki" the elf said, anger growing inside him "Do you understand exactly how much I'm trying to do the right thing here. For heavens sake if push comes to shove when we go after Satoru, I'm willing to give my life to save the drunken blind bastard. For YOU!" The gladiator's face was a crimson red as he spoke, his was voice getting louder "I know you want my head on a pike and if things go the way they might, you could very well get your bloody wish, but for right now you need to get it through your thick skull that.. I. AM. SORRY." Letting out a few deep breaths, the elf calmed himself. "Forgive me for yelling but you are the most stubborn person I've ever met. I know it kills you to see Myth with me but goddamnit woman, I LOVE HIM!" The words erupted out of Chakors mouth before he even realized what he had said.

Mythayus gaze went to the scorned woman. He couldnt blame her. He finally spoke his tone smooth like honey. "Misaki, i am only going to explain myself once." He moved to were he was now standing next to her. He when down to one knee. He tilted his head a bit trying to get a good look at her face. " I am in love with Both of you. As i said in my letter, I can not think of my world with out you. And because of that love. I gave that man a second chance." He motioned towards Chakor. " Before that, I had planned on challenging him to a battle to the death once he was fully healed. After Hearing you talk to Al about not forgiving him if something bad were to come of him. I decided to swallow my anger and give him another chance. And he proved to be kind hearted. So i forgave him and opened my so called heart. And found room for you both. My feelings for you have not change and nor will they ever. But the same can now be said for him. For once you are in my heart you will never go away. Do you understand, Misaki?"

Misaki shook her head viciously, her fingers clutching her head. "Shut up, shut up!" she yelled, "I don't want... to hear... any of..." her strength was spent. She started to fall, only to have the shaman catch her. Misaki was unconscious. Not surprising, with everything that's gone on today. Eleenin shook his head and waved the dragon, pix, and elf away. "She needs to rest," he said, "out. No more stimulus for her." The shaman then carried the avian to a bed and lay her down.

Kovl's eyes widen as they hear the lycan's elevated shouting. This was the first the pixie had heard of Satoru. He only understood a greater portion of what Chakor said because of it, but it appears after Mythayus spoke that Chakor and Mythayus have more than light attraction toward each other. The pixie's gaze move to Misaki to watch her reaction to the appeal of the two. Her sudden blackout and the ushering of Eleenin causes the pixie to start toward the door, but not too quickly. He stops to allow the two lovers in front of him. "Rough," He comments.
