Xalious Mountain Pass

High up on the Xalious Mountain Pass the day is quite a sight to see, the beautiful sky is littered with puffy white clouds that have rays of radiant sunshine breaking through to illuminate the chilled passage and provide a bit of warmth despite the bite of autumn. The sound of wind rushing through every crack and crevice is enough to cause shivers to run down ones spine and though everything seems happy and normal, a fog starts seeping out of the stones to flood the immediate area in a blanket of thick, blinding smoke, leaving all wary travelers careful of their step lest they find an untimely demise.

Blut had finished a job and removed some bandits from the mountains as he continued his search. He was going to Xalious to find some mages as he walked into the fog. Blut failed to remember when he last saw fog this thick. He simply sat on a rock as he tried to read a book until the fog passed by but the fog made it far too difficult to read it comfortably. Blut sighed as he tried to navigate the mountains keeping his hand to the side of the mountain keeping it infront of his legs to make sure that he never fell off the edge. The ground gave way from benith Blut causeing him to fall thinking fast he drew a dagger from his sleeve as he plunged it into the mountain to keep him from falling and dieing pulling himself back up to the mountain path.

The wind that whips against the side of the mountain sounds similar to that of human whispers but not the same. When the ground beneath Blut's feet crumbles to give way to his certain doom the dagger delves into the rough rock and echoes an ear piercing ring but when he moves to pull his way back to the surface Blut would find gravity to be the least of his worries. Hovering at the edge of the broken earth is a shimmering black entity with an macabre smile that shows off protruding pearly white teeth stained with dried blood and bile and long sharpened nails digging into the soil to firm his grip and block the path up. The whitened cataract like eyes stare unblinking at the distressed individual from a mere foot away and the creature's mouth pulls open to reveal a spiral of rows and rows of razor sharp teeth and breath that smells as foul as brimstone. There is no warning to the next move, not that any is needed with a beast so foul, rearing back with it's limber arm it swipes forward hoping to knock Blut clean off the mountain to his death.

Bluts eyes widden as he rolled off the mountain path to dodge the swipes of the beast creating a illusionary clone to get its attention as it ran away. Blut kept his dagger stuck into the mountain as he drew a second dagger from his second sleeve as he decended even further down into the fog. Blut was confident there was another path underneath his current floor as he slide down slowly further into the fog as he looked back up to see if the beast is still chaseing him as he continued to slide down the mountain as he twisted the daggers to slow down his decent even more.

The creature of the void is not so easily fooled by a puppeteers illusion, in fact it pays not a second of thought to the duplication and remains full focused on the man before it. Following Blut down the side of the mountain at a safe distance with a pace the seems to indicate he's playing with his prey, the creature offers a series of clicks and vibrations as it's voice while pursuing it's target.

Blut saw that the beast was still persuing him as he twisted his daggers as he slide down much quicker as he landed onto the path as he ran further into the path. Blut could hear the various clicks and feel the vibrations travel through his body as he clicked his fingers. Rather than createing visible clones he focused more on makeing a physical clone to bounce the vibrations back at the beast. Blut took off his mask as he placed in in his cloak and wrapped his boots in cloth whilst bringing his gloves into his sleeves so the cloth absorbed the vibrations of the clicks as he ran further into the fog.

Blut could run all he wanted but in the midst of Revan's fog, there was no escape. While the pursuing creature became occupied by the deflections and little magic tricks or the magic man, he would find himself encountering three more identical beasts face-to-face as he tried to make his escape and if he turned to run the other way he'd simply find three more. The flight option has been eliminated from this scenario and the man can either choose to fight or die - the beasts seeming to give him a brief pause to think it over.

Blut quickly turned around and took out his crossbow embued with chaos energy. He looked around as he saw the faint shadow of the beast as it thrashed around as he aimed at the ground benith the beast. He let the bolt fly in a streak of crimson lighting as it caused the ground to crack in the hope that the beasts weight would cause it to fall and die.

Revan is delighted in the path chosen by the strangers known as Blut. The crossbow bolt pierces the neck of one of the many beasts and it's cry is gurgled and high pitched as it moves to fall from the cliff. The rest of the creatures take this as their sign to advance and quickly move to rush Blut together all at once in order to maim him.

Bluts eyes widden at the sight of the beast as he jumped after the already falling beast takeing off his hood give anyone who saw his mask would clearly see his eyes. The pair continued to fall as Blut helds his arms and legs out far as they plummeted into the abyss of the fog, the fog gave way revealing the next mountain path as Blut stabed his elbows into the mountain as the flesh started to fly off but slowing his decent. He streached his legs out and bent them to lessen the impact for when he reached the ground useing the beast as a cushionas he landed in it crushing its flesh as it absorbed some of the impact as his legs snapped and blood poured out. Whilst his muscles and tendons in his elbows were completly destroyed his still had use of his hands and sholders as he took a vial of dragon blood from his sleeve as he rocked his shoulder up to tilt his arm to get the blood to his mouth the healing effects starting to heal the wounds as his legs started to mend and the flesh of his elbows started growing back rapidly. Blut would hope the beast could see his eyes if they decided to chase him so Blut could use his full illusionary prowess.

The creature beneath Blut wouldn't be able to see anything as it's life ended the moment they reached the bottom of the pass. The dark entities soot like flesh fading to reveal a now mangled corpse of a elven woman dressed in a warm fur coat that has become stained with crimson blood from both the impact of the fall and Blut's own crossbow bolt. High up on the pass, the other monsters' appearances had changed to that of every day citizens as well as they struggled to make out the now tiny dots of Blut and the woman. While the man may have been skilled in the illusionary arts, he had either been fooled in his own practice or had a lapse of sanity.

Blut rubbed his head as the beast turned into a women blinking twice vastly confused. Blut looked at the woman before he looked back up to see the dots of civilians. Blut looked at his arms proof the encounter was real as he jumped from two mountain paths to get away from the beasts. Blut kneeled on a knee as he said a short prayer not one of forgiveness but in hope that her spirit may find peace. Blut got up as black dust arose from the woman invisible to mortal eyes as Blut took whatever time she would have had should she did not die to him. Blut had taken so many lives and undergone so many battles that this kind of discovery no longer startled him. He felt to remorse nor pride in what he did the least he could do is cover the corpse. Blut took off his robe as he extracted all his weapons and covered her so she wouldn't be eaten or defiled. Blut simply started to walk away as he put his mask back on.

The entity that watched Blut from afar was left in a ponder at the actions of the man and a brief but thorough deliberation takes place in the creature's mind as gears churn round and round and round until falling still on a firm decision. A wretched creature tainted with blood and bile spawns just before Blut and cries a hellish scream as it charges him, slamming into his armor with great force and exploding into a fine powder leaving behind a single white rose in it's place. Whether the man bends down to take the flower or not does not matter... as Blut would soon find that no matter what measures were taken, he could not escape his new gift.

Blut didn't even flinch as the creature crashed into his armour knowing that a illusion is a illusion drastically weakens it as it exploads into dust a white rose. Blut bent down and picked it up confused at what it means Blut heard the Xalious guards approach as he broke apart into a murder of crows as he escaped his murder.
