Synopsis: Nasada and Emilia meet once again. This time it isn't quite as pleasant.

Characters: Nasada, Emilia

Location: Xalious, Mage Tower, Mage's Library

Date: Jan. 30th, 2016

Nasada /// Raevyn sat comfortably at a table by herself. Before her, two fairly large tomes were open, the young necromancer glancing between both, every now and again to flip a page while she took notes with the quill in hand. She seemed hard at work, and quite frustrated. Laying the quill down upon the piece of parchment in which she took note, Raevyn lifted both hands and ran them through her hair; The inky black shiny and clean, pristine and straight. After that mess of a journey and the state it left her in, she was not going to be caught with her hair in such a poor state again! Leaning over then, she retrieved what looked to be some sort of bread from her bag, picking little pieces off and placing them into her mouth. She needed a snack!

Emilia carried with her a large old tome that she had been allowed to take with her from the library to study from the comforts of her home in Gualon. The little lady walked with bare feet on this day as she had had enough wearing of her boots in the last few days to last her a lifetime. With such the woman almost glided over the floor barely making a sound as she traveled to return the book without much of a care to see who was studying hard today. As the woman with wild untamed stark white curls turned to leave crystalline blue eyes landed on the inky-haired woman she’d met before in Larket. A smile graced those blue lips as she crossed the room to where she sat working away at her table. “Hello, Deary. Good to see that you made it safely out of Larket without being harmed by a rabid fermin.”

Nasada /// Raevyn was somewhat lost in thought. She stared at first upon Emilia, just chewing away at her bread, not quite sure of anything going on around in the immediate vicinity. Suddenly everything seemed to register and she snapped from that dopey lull. "Oh! Hello again!" she offered in a chipper tone. "Oh yes! However, I think I may have to go back sometime soon. A new friend pointed out to me that Larket may need help with stopping the problem... and well.. I owe some my gratitude for helping me get my start in this land." An explanation. One that caused her to wrinkle her nose; Not that she didn't want to help. It was just those plague bearing rat-things. Ick! "What brings you up this way?" She did note the tome in Emilia's grasp, but wasn't quite alert enough to put two and two together.

Emilia flashed a smile for a moment as she was glad to hear that Larket would have some more aide on the way to tend to the problem with the rat-people from the sewers below. The empty hand of the ice-lady reached behind her to steal a chair away from the table over so that she could take a seat next to Raevyn as they spoke instead of feeling like a creep standing over her and her work. Plopping that tiny form into the chair she rested the tome on her lap. “Oh, well as much as I do enjoy staying in the quiet of the library to read I find that I cannot stay away from home for too long. The triplets get a little fussy when mommy is not home by a certain time of night and daily tasks and chores take away from time I don’t have to sit here and work so I have gotten permission to borrow some of the tomes when needed for a short time so that I can read at home. Plus, X needs some relief from staying home with the children, especially when they are fussy, but he does such a wonderful job with them.” A gleeful smile before she’d question, “What is it you are learning today?”

Nasada /// Raevyn leans over and tucks away the remainder of her snack for later, a polite and pleasant smile coming over her as she listened to Emilia. "Oh that is quite wonderful. It is nice to hear that the father is so caring. A sign of a good man!" What would she know? Truthfully, Raevyn hadn't much experience with relationships herself. There was this cute boy back home and while they had a strong fondness for one another, her mother would have killed them both! Raevyn giggled a little. "I'm glad that you at least get some time to yourself. Very kind of the magii here to trust their books to anyone that seeks knowledge." An affirmative nod sends her lacks swaying. With Emilia's question posed, Raevyn looked to those open books and sighed. "Historical and geographical research. I'm trying to learn as much about this land as possible. It is very tasking as there is centuries of information, and my mind can only hold so much information at a time." A wink would indicate jest. "There's one particular name I am seeking, His name is Nasada, and I think he has passed on or moved from this land. Would you happen to have heard of it?"

Emilia tilted her head to the side as that name was mentioned causing tangled curls to fall into her face hiding those pale-blue freckled dusted cheeks. She was thinking as she curled her lower lip into her mouth, gently biting on it while slowly tilting her head to the other side making more tangles to those curls. Finally, she shook her head slowly in a no-fashion, “No, I cannot recall the name to my knowledge, but I feel like I may have heard it somewhere before. I have only been alive for so many years, which oddly is not that many of years compared to many in the lands around here. However, now that I am not human anymore I should live for many long years to come. I can stick my nose around for you and see if I can come up with some information for you. My husband could be a very good person to ask! He is older than some of the cities that are here in the land. I can set up a meeting for you and him? I would advise that he isn’t as scary as he looks...still cannot read the moving writing on his skin, but maybe one of these books will provide answers to that or I could ask him, I suppose he’d share the answer with me.” Ah, some rambling on the part of the Genasi.

Nasada /// Raevyn blinks. Not once. Not twice. But thrice. Moving writing on this skin? She can't be talking about... can she? The young necromancer's face seemed to pale further than it already happened to be. She felt sick. "Emilia... does.. X walk with a hobbled gait? D-does he wear a face that seems out of place?" Click. Click. Click. The puzzle pieces start to line up. Could the Ice Genasi really be wed to that creepy man that had come to her in Gualon? The questions about Nasada were set on the back burner.

Emilia would reach a hand out without thinking about it to place the back of her frozen hand against the forehead of the other, if allowed of course, to check for a fever as she suddenly went more pale. Perhaps that snack of hers was bad bread? It took a moment for the Genasi to put the facts of what Raevyn was asking, “No, he walks just fine? No, he walks with hermit limit and a stick? Yes. No? Sometimes I guess, not always.” That was hard for the little woman to answer, sadly. She had seen him limp with a stick, but she’d always spent many hours with him at home walking perfectly normal. “Well, his face is a mask because what lies behind the mask is enough to turn a sane person into a mindless crazy being.” Running fingers through her curls, until they got stuck in the knots and leaving her hand at the back of her head. “He honestly is not fully the evil ancient being that he once was. Perhaps, a little on the scale of that side at times, but he means well and is a good man.”

Nasada /// Raevyn reacted badly. She might have come off as offensive or downright threatening with her next actions. The legs of her chair made a horrible screech as she slid backward with force, in the same instance she reached into her backpack and pulled out some sort of item wrapped in leather. "W-who are you?! W-what do you want?!" she demanded rather loudly. The nearby students of the library looked up from their own tables- not all to unfamiliar with Raevyn's tendency to be a little loud when she should not be. "Did he send you to spy on me? A-Are you following me?!" Something snapped in the necromancer then, a repeat of the night before took place. Candles in a thirty foot radius extinguished without interaction from anyone else; books seeming to fall of shelves while parchment fluttered. Wind? Unwrapping the item quickly, Raevyn revealed a dagger. It was ancient looking, forged from dark sources. The hilt blackened bone, the blade seeming to be crafted from darkness itself- Light failing to escape its grasp. She pointed it at Emilia, "Answer me!!" she screamed as her eyes welled up with tears of anger.

Emilia was startled at the reaction she received when she’d reached to check and see if Raevyn had spiked a temperature. Instantly her hand jerked back away from the freaking out girl and back toward the ice-lady. Both hands now were held up into the air as the light-sucking ancient blade wielded by the inky haired woman was pointed at her. There was a nervous look in those blue eyes as the Genasi glanced around the library to where candles had once been lit and books had fallen to ground from their place upon the shelves. Emi kept her hands up in the air, palms facing toward Raevyn as if she was in surrender to the other. “Easy there you might hurt someone...” she whispered after a moment of silence and trying to find words to even say. “I’m Emilia. I wanted to return a tome to the library. Spying on you? For who? X? Not at all. No, I am not following you...” She wasn’t exactly following her, but had hoped to see her here after their last meeting to make sure she was alright. There was still a bit of fear sparked in those ice colored eyes as the woman moved the tome off her lap onto the floor slowly before standing up. “I mean you no harm, promise. You want to lock me up and question me to death, go ahead, I’ll let you if that calms you down, Miss.”

Nasada /// Raevyn trembled, the dagger lowering slightly. Maybe 'X' was working on his own. "I... I..." she stumbled through the tears. "Who is he? W-what is he? Why did you husband give me this thing?..." She made no attempt to close the gap between she and Emilia. Even if the Gensasi spoke the truth, how sure could Raevyn be?

Emilia would not expext anything different from the other woman. She did not know Emilia well enough to know she was an almost full opposite of the man she married. "How am I to know? I have never seen the blade before in my life." Is that what the man did when he went out from the home? Brave or stupid Em took a step closer to Raevyn holding out her hand, "May I see the blade?" It was such a curious blade and Em was intrigued by it.

Nasada /// Raevyn bit her lip. She wasn't sure if handing over the weapon was the greatest idea. Emilia seemed sincere enough, but there was always going to be doubt. She was married to that... man, after all. Fighting all urges to run off, Raevyn turns the blade over, extending the handle out to the Genasi. She recalled how the counter at the Gualon Grogshop began to decay when the blade touched it; and did not want Emilia to accidentally find out for herself its effects. "B-be careful. Don't touch the blade..." Hey pale, dead eyes fell then to the floor, trying now to figure out how this all fell into place. This could not be simple coincidence.

Emilia was glad that Raevyn did not freak out once more and attempt to stab her with the dagger that she had. Instead, Em was slow in her movements as she accepted the weapon from the other lady, being careful to not grab the blade, only touching the handle of the dark weapon. The Genasi nearly dropped it after she’d been holding onto it for a short time. Her handle tingled with contact of the blade, as if the weapon itself was refusing to let her with light nature wield it and its darkness. “Strange.” And so she would with careful and slow motions offer it back to the other, “If my husband is harassing you I will talk to him and have him leave you alone...or well, ask him to leave you alone.”

Nasada /// Raevyn took the blade lightly, quick to bind it back in its leather sheet. Emilia's offer was at first, quite welcome. She never wanted to see that damned man again. They only met once, but it was enough to scare the poor girl to death! She had never been so terrified of someone before. Then it dawned on her. "No. I.. I need to speak with him. He knows me. Or something about me. I think he has answers." she frowned, brow furrowed as she thought about what she said. Did she really just say that she wanted to see this man again?

Emilia could understand that the girl wanted answers to the unknown truth about whatever it was that her husband knew of her when she didn’t know it. “I cannot promise that I can be of any aide in making him less of a scary man, but I will offer try and make it as enjoyable as possible for you to be around him to get the answers you seek.” There was a gentle brief half smile before the Genasi would put distance between the pairing again. The sure fire way to make X go dark would be if somehow the ice-lady got harmed, even if it was Em’s doing. She’d hate to see this nice lady, as far as Em is aware, hurt. Clearly opposites attract...X and her proved that theory. “Would you perhaps like to come to dinner? Meet the kiddos?”

Nasada /// Raevyn ran her tongue along the back of her teeth as she thought about the offer. What if this was a trick? What if they were a murderous couple and they planned to eat the young necromancer for dinner? What ifs. A lot of what ifs. Pushing any and all dark thought from her head, Raevyn took a breath to calm herself. A half smile. "I will think about it. I just.." she paused. "I need time to settle my thoughts. Please forgive me." It was then that she would scramble to gather her things, closing both books and stuffing them into her leather pack. With quill, ink and parchment collected, she put on her polite face and said to Emilia, "I'm sorry for how I reacted. I am sure we will meet soon. I.. need to go." A gentle wave offered, Raevyn made off to the north to rest and do some serious thinking.
