RP:To Spark a Tree

Never Freezing Fountain

Ayras stands in front of the fountain, certainly shorter than the giants but still taller than other mortals that venture about Frostmaw. His arms are crossed, fleshy pads of fingertips a-tapping against the metal of the other arm, the man bare-chested as always. But unlike most days, Ayras is not sporting a pair of metal wings, this day. No, instead there are two wing stumps exposed on his back, the metal appendages removed for one reason or another. Even from a distance the ports for wide vessels are apparent, dark spots set in metal plates that seem to have been grafted to the vampire's flesh. Just what could the man be doing there in front of the fountain? Wasting time? And just -why- doesn't he have his wings attached?

Daisy just can't seem to get that vampire out of her mind. Not so much him, but his parts. Not those parts! Geez. Everyone here is so pervy all the time. Daisy is a lady! A lady, I tell you! A lady that is desperately trying to fix that garden of Satoshi's. Watching Ayras interact with that death circle sparked an idea in her. See what I did there? So what does she do? She waits for him. She stalks his territory. Well. It isn't his. It is the Queen's. But she sees him every freaking time she's in Frostmaw, so she figures this is her best bet. What luck! There he is. Sshhh... She sneaks up behind a tree to watch him. Where are his wings!? She is quiet like a ninja. Unfortunately the wind is at her back.

Ayras is, indeed, easily found in Frostmaw. He's adopted the place as his home since he started hanging around Satoshi. The giants even seem to like him. Or so he likes to think. They never try to squish him, at any rate. But yes, there he is, wingless and thoughtful...until the wind blows by him and he catches a scent. His head, previously angled down, jerks upward as a pierced, pointed ear perks, his head twisting as though he's about to look over his shoulder. But his eyes never follow through with the move, instead simply staring off into the distance as a smirk creeps on his face. Catnip. "It's rare for the prey to stalk the hunter, you know."

Daisy stiffens and a word that polite young ladies shouldn't say mutters past her lips. She didn't want him to know she was there! It is a shame her ninja skills aren't better. The kitten is a bit more relaxed around the psycopath, but she still has to keep her guard up. He probably knows she is terrified of him, even with her trained body language. Chin up, bright smile... she steps out into the clearing. "What do you mean?" You're the prey, kitten. He'll eat you if you let your guard down.

Ayras rolls his shoulders in what can only be a shrug as he turns about to face the small feline, never once losing his smirk. "It's usually only the very insane or the very powerful that go hunting down a vampire." Silver eyes turn back to the fountain, settling on the wolf atop it as he begins to circle it, wing-stubs flexing as though his real wings are still there. "So, what brings you to me, Catnip?"

Daisy's eyes lock on those stubs for a moment before they travel down to his arm. Really now, kitten. Do you think this is the best way? Maybe. She'll play nice and hope he... no. He doesn't seem the type to need gold. So how does she pay for what she wants. "I need you." Facepalm. Don't just say it like that! You know he's a beast. You're so awkward. She steps forward a bit, but keeps her distance too. "How you work, I mean." I suppose that is a little better. But not much!

Ayras could very easily have laughed when Daisy spouted that first bit. In fact, he nearly does. Somehow, he manages just to snort. But..."How I work? What, you mean my limbs? My magic?" That actually seems to perplex him. No one ever comes asking him for his magic.

Daisy nods as she moves even closer. Easy there. Don't get too close too fast. He's likely to spook and fly away. Or kill you. Probably kill you. Maybe not. He knows you're working for the Queen and he seems to respect her. Well... as much as someone of his stature could, anyway. "The magic..." She looks back towards the garden. "It is drawn to yours, but stays away at the same time. I want to make a hybrid." The sapling might have a fighting chance if it had his magic.

Ayras cocks his head to the side, strolling around the fountain. "Come over here and give me a hand, will you?" He stands there waiting for the feline, but he eyes her as he does. "How do you plan to make a hybrid? And a hybrid of what, exactly? This won't be effecting me overly much, will it?"

Daisy takes a hesitant step towards the vampire. What the hell could she possibly help him with? Cook him di... Okay maybe she has the meal thing going for her. No! Don't think like that, kitten. Just. Go on over there and see what he wants. He can't literally want you to give him a hand... Yeah. We'll stick with that. "You are organic and the metal reacts to you." She moves closer, keeping her chin up and her hands folded at the small of her back. Very brave, kitten. Stop flicking your tail. "Did you do this magic?"

Ayras can finally answer where his wings are. They're on the ground. "Help me get these back on my back. They're not so easy to get on by myself." Indeed, the best he can do without struggling is get a wing lifted and almost lined up with his natural stubs. Clearly the vampire thinks it's obvious what the druid's supposed to do. "Getting the metal limbs to react? Sort of. The designs were in a lab in a city that's fallen underground. My electricity powers them, and my blood lubricates them."

Daisy frowns softly at herself as she steps over to the wings. Would that work for her purposes? It wasn't the metal itself, but the electricity that was reacting to the magic. This might not work afterall. She sighs and just looks at the massive wings. "You'll have to kneel down." LOL! Bow down before me, mighty Ayras! Daisy is very good at keeping the smirk off her face. Hopefully she never meets someone that can read minds. "I'll line it up for you."

Ayras figured he'd have to lower himself a bit for Daisy to be able to help him. Oh well. It's not the first time he's been on his knees before. Especially not around a woman. "Thanks. So, what exactly are you going to try to do with the tree, exactly?"

Daisy pets a finger down one of the metal wings. "I was hoping to grow a tree... weave it through the metal so the black magic will stay away." She frowns with a shake of her head. "But if there's no electricity... Nevermind." Stupid ideas are stupid and she'll never get it to work anyway. Don't fret, kitten. You'll think of something. You always do.

Ayras actually barks out a bit of a laugh at that. "I think I see what you intend to do now. Talk to Satoshi, ask her about whoever sold her an amber stone she had. Get that and I can feed electricity into it, and there's your power source." The battle with the kirin. Ayras learned a bit from that fight. Like how much juice it takes to make a Kit's fur stand on end.

Daisy perks up at that and completely forgets about the wings. "You would do that for me?" She bounces around to stand in front of him. Even on his knees, Ayras is still a bit taller than the feline. She presses both paws to his chest, curling her fingers into the material of whatever he happens to wearing. "You swear you'd do it if I found that stone?" She stares right into his eyes. There is silence. Intense silence. Be nervous, Ayras.... This determines your fate, winged man. Well... not right now cause they're still on the ground.

Ayras has fingers curling on his chest. His bare chest. It's not a feeling he's unaccustomed to, he's just used to there being more involved with it. "Sure I would. I don't have a reason not to. Especially since it'll pretty Frostmaw back up. Can't have my Queen's city looking trashy."

Daisy squeals out a giddy yip of happy and throws her entire body at Ayras, wrapping her arms around his neck. He's not likely to topple over, so she hangs there with her legs bent at the knees. "Thank you!" Personal bubble, begone! How can you be scared of a guy that is going to help you? He couldn't possibly want anything in return. Oh no. That doesn't ever happen! She spots the wingstumps and giggles. "Oh right. Wings."

Ayras has a feline hanging around his neck. In very close proximity to his nose. And his fangs. Despite not needing to, the vampire typically breathes out of habit. Daisy's sure to feel that he's suddenly not. "Yes, Catnip, wings." That'll get her away from his mouth and alive long enough to fix Satoshi's garden.

Daisy can tell he isn't breathing, but she figures vampires don't need to anyway. She hops down, ridiculously happy that everything seems to be working out, and circles around to put the wings where they are supposed to go. "Okay. They're lined up. Now what do I do?" Amber stone. She needs an amber stone and then she can fix the garden! How exciting.

Ayras twists his head around, his chin jutting as best it can towards the base of the wings. "See those tubes? The ones that look like they plug into something?" Wait, do they really...? "Now do you see the holes in my back?" Oh dear. Yes, yes they do." Slide them into those, and twist them clockwise about half a turn. They should lock into place then."

Daisy bats at the tubes a little, like kittens tend to do. "I won't get shocked, will I?" She stands on her toes to peek into those holes. This is so weird. But! At least he's going to help her. The tubes are pushed into the holes and given a little turn. "How did they come off anyway?"

Ayras grins. Will she get shocked? No, not by just putting them in. But he doesn't tell her that. Instead he sends a small jolt through his wings, just to mess with her. "They came off because I took them off. They're rather heavier than my old wings." With his wings restored he rises to his feet, strolling a few strides away from Daisy before he really juices the reattached limbs. Lightning arcs across each metal feather as they fold and unfold, his blood working its way through the tubes to the gears within the wings. "It's nice to not have the weight on my back every now and again."

Daisy snatches her hands back with a small leap, nearly falling into the fountain. Her lips part to bitch at him, but she holds her composure. He -is- going to help her afterall. And you don't just go around angering people that are going to help you... or psychopaths. "They're very heavy. I imagine so." Of course he got bigger wings. They're nice. Overcompensating? Heh.

Ayras isn't overcompensating, no. In fact, his wings have fewer feathers than when he was alive. But, ya know, metal is heavier than natural wings. Regardless, now that his wings are once more attached, he can't help but flap them a few times more. "So. Be sure to find me after you get that amber, yes? Then I can infuse it with my magic, and you can grow your half-metal tree."

Daisy nods excitedly, brushing off the fact that he just electricuted HER. Jerk. "I will." Considering he's super easy to stalk. "You're fairly easy to... find."

Ayras can't help but snort at that. Easy to find. That's an understatement, it seems. "Indeed. If I'm not around Frostmaw, just listen for the thunder." His flesh and blood hand reaches out, ruffling Daisy's hair. "Anyways, I best be off. I need to eat." With a fanged grin the vampire heads off. Hm. How many are going to die tonight, I wonder?
