  • Mages Library

As you stand here, towers of bookshelves completely surround you. Most of them look to be magical in nature, but there are books of more mundane subjects in the library. Some are for spell research, some are about the history of spell casting and magic, while others are just lists of spell uses and objects. The cases are of a dark oak or pine, and glow a little at the ends, where runes have been placed to protect these sources of information from aging and decay. There are tables all over the room, with people of quite a few races sitting and studying. You notice a small door behind the rows of shelves to the north, and as someone opens and enters the room you see that it is the dormitory for those who stay here and study. To the east are two massive doors with designs carved into them, a golden dragon on each door.

Vargoth walks into the library sighing, “ Hmmm, not here... Come Toby we will rest here for a while and hope she turns up here.” With this the man moves and sits on a chair and the black shabby dog that follows him rests at his feet just looking at him and Vargoth looks back, “Don't look at me like that boy, I love her and she is worth it, besides we need to walk more and from Kelay it was refreshing... Teleporting everywhere is killing me, plus you get to meet her.”

Opening the door to the library, Vasha glides into the room, dressed in her black leather corset, flowing skirt, and thigh high boots which accented her pale cheeks. Her sable hair was done up in intricate braids for the day; she scans the room and her eclipsed eyes fall onto Vargoth. A small smile forms on her crimson lips and she makes her way over to him, curvaceous hips swaying at each step. The butt of her skull topped staff thudded as it hit the wooden floor as she used it almost like a walking stick. Coming to rest in front of him she deliberately fixed him with a glare, "And where have you been M'Lord?"

Vargoth laughs and stands up, moving the dog out of the way with his foot and giving her a hug, “Don't call me lord, sounds weird…” He then looks away from her and then back and into her eyes, “I have missed you, sorry I ain't been around…” with that the man lets go of her. “I had a few things to deal with.” The man kneels down and strokes his dog,” This is Toby, been following me for a while now, what do you think of him? The dog looks at Vasha as if he was judging her and then moves towards her and sniffs her for a bit leaving Vargoth kneeling there watching the pair interact.

Vasha takes the step needed to put her in front of Toby and drops down to one knee, her dark skirt fanning around her to pool on the dusty floor and she reaches out her hand for the dog to take in her scent. Placing it on his head she scratches behind his ears for a few minutes as she tries to come to terms with her feelings on whether or not she was mad at her love. Rising to her feet she fixes her gaze onto Vargoth and moves close to him; mere inches separate them as she lifts her face up to his. "He's a nice dog, make sure you treat him right." is all she says.

Vargoth looks up as the dog just lays down comfortable with his masters choice of a woman and gives a bark to his master, the half elf then admits his feeling for the young mage, “Vasha... Hmmm, I love you and can't picture me without you , uh... Do you at one point fancy me as well?” The man then goes silent for a minute. “Don't worry about it, it’s stupid and you problely don't feel the same way... I have made a prat out of myself .” As for his dog, its growls at him and then shakes his head and goes sleep.

Turning her back so Vargoth couldn't see the tear slide down her white cheek she takes a deep breath so her trembling voice wouldn't betray her own feelings she had for him, "Did you think that I might not feel the same way?" Spinning on her toes she rushes to embrace him and rests her head on his shoulder. "I've missed you so much." she says in a breathless tone.

Vargoth holds her tight, “You feel the same, thank the Gods... Its been on my mind.” The mans body is trembling with nerves and fear, What do you say we give you and I a shot?” He lowers his head to rest on hers. Gazing into Vargoth’s eyes, Vasha feels as if she were drowning in them and as he asks her what she's been waiting for so long to hear, she answers him in only one way. Moving her lips slowly to his she kisses him with all the feelings of love she had for the half-elf.

Vargoth kisses her back and when they break he returns her loving look and smiles with one lone tear creeping down his face, “I love you and no matter what I'll always be by your side.” With that he places one hand each on the sides of her waist and picks her up and spins around before putting her down. You can tell just by his eyes that the man has not felt this happy in a long time.

Vasha laughs with pleasure as Vargoth spins her around, her feet fluttering in the air like the wings of birds in flight. As he sets her on her down again she reaches up one hand and wipes away the tear sliding down his cheek, "Love, be happy for us and no more tears." Twining her fingers into his silken locks she pulls his face close for a kiss." Pulling away a little breathless from him she grins and nods toward her staff leaning up against the wall where she had placed it. "I've been working on how to use the staff." A crease forms between her brows as she frowns,“ My first attempt didn't go very well. It was lucky that Hameirak was there for it almost killed me and he stopped it from doing so."

Vargoth stares at the staff and frowns, “Be careful please, I want be around if something going happen to you, this is why I use my hands, I don't like staffs... Plus I didn't know about them to begin with.” He then turns to her, “If you ever need anything let me know or if you want know new spells.”

Vasha moves from the warmth of Vargoth’s arms and makes her way over to the staff to place a hand on the dark wood length of it and caresses it likie one would their lover. If he could have seen her face, Vargoth would of been very afraid of what it was doing to her. It was almost as if it was taking her over and making her another person entirely. A look of pure evil had infused her features changing her visage to one he wouldn't have recognized. "I will....I will." she says, but one could tell by her tone that she really wasn't listening to anything said to her.

Vargoth walks up to her and hugs her from behind, “No matter the struggle I will be with you .” The hedge wizard then lets go and turns away, “Just do not be consumed by power.” He does not know what the staff is doing, but he has met power and it changed him, consumed him and still he is like so. “Power took me over in the past, it still does, but I have one thing to help me... a bright light down my path and that’s you. Find something to hold onto because that is the way and that’s what I have found out in this land... everyone needs something.” After saying this he turns silent as his eyes flash red then normal again. At this his dog gets up and walks over to the pair, licking them both on the hand and if anyone could understand his barks they would know that he has just said: ~ And I will always watch you both, a silent guardian for you both~

Vasha spins around, the staff seemed to jump into her hand and black flames ignite around the skull as she raises it above Vargoth’s head. Evil mars her alabaster features and a sneer distorts her mouth as she swings the staff to make a killing blow. A loud crash comes from the libraries door hitting the wall as a oversized snow jaguar comes speeding into the room and jumps on Vasha knocking her to the floor pinning her there. The staff goes flying from her hand to clatter across the room and settle against the wall. Shaking herself she cries, "What...what is going on?!" Mist get off me now!"

Vargoth turns and his eyes flash red again, “What the…” He walks over to the staff and put his hands near trying to feel for its energies and power.

Vasha pushes Mist to the side and gets to her feet, brushing off her attire, her eyes fixed to Vargoth. When he reaches towards the staff she rushes over and pushes him away. "No! It's mine! Do not lay your hands on it." she cries as she drops to her knee's beside it. Gathering it up into her arms she clutches it to her breast and begins to rock back and forth mumbling under her breath.

Vargoth steps back and sits down, “I don't like what it does to you... I don't want it, but I don't want you to have it ether.”

Shifting on her knee's, Vasha snarls at Vargoth and snaps, "I'll never give it up...." Her features soften slightly as she whispers, "I...I NEED it."

Vargoth stands up and lets the aura of his power expand and his eyes turn crimson, “For you I am prepared to try and handle anything, hand over the staff and we will see what I can do to stop this happening to you or you can let it corrupt you and you will do things you would not imagine, even kill me for if you strike me I will not fight.”

Vasha bends over the staff as if to protect it with her body and begins to shake with silent sobs. She tosses her head from side to side denying Vargoth the staff. It's as if the staff has taken the young mage...as if an entity had taken residence in her body.

Vargoth walks over to Vasha keeping his aura of power eminating around him and holding onto his mana, charged and ready. The half-elf’s robes flutter about him, going haywire and his eyes glow a darker red as he holds his hand out then speaks in a voice that’s almost like a growl, “Vasha, the staff or me because I cannot watch this and I will not wait until you call for me, can you bare to not see me... THE STAFF NOW!” The mans words just being an empty bluff, but he hoped it would work, he had to get through to her some how.

Vasha turns her face up to look Vargoth in the eye, the midnight color filling hers is quiet now and her cheeks are stained with her tears. ~How can he say that to me?~ she thinks. The flush of her dismay impelled her to look away. Degree by degree her trembling arm extends out to him to hand him the staff.

Vargoth grabs the staff and unleashes his mana into it as he tries to find the problem and solve it, but as he does things around him in the room start to float and move with the sheer force of will between the half breed and the staff, then darkness begins to emit around Vargoth. When it fully covers him he begins to scream in utter agony and pain as his will starts to fail, “For you.” Then the man goes silent as his will regains its foothold and then there’s another scream of sheer pain as the man flies across the room and smashes into the bookcases as the darkness disappears and then everything is deathly quiet. Nether move a muscle. The only thing that can be seen is the staff as it lays there and then he begins to climb out of the books that now cover him and he tries to walk while covering his face, “I..I.. think it is done.“ He then drops to the floor on all fours as his face is revealed and he screams in pain and doesn’t stop as his face distorts and continues to do so until it becomes one that people would barely be able to looks at without feeling sick while his screams get louder, “The light, get rid of the light.” he says as his body crumples to the floor motionless as a few words are whispered, “I didn't mean it, I would always be by your side... I.. love... You.”

You watches the events unfold as Vargoth is thrown across the room and she cries out wordlessly in shock. Moving with a speed she never thought she had she compelled her frightened legs to carry her to him. Dropping to her knee's she gathers him into her arms and with one spoken arcane word all the candles go out in a puff of smoke that filled the room. Placing both her palms, one on each side of his head, the mage calls up her magic and delves deeply into her loves body to see what kind of damage was done. Pain wracks her body and she bites back a scream of her own for she knows she must help Vargoth. Crying herself, she stammers, “This is all my fault. If anything happens to you….” The young mage sends what little of her healing powers she has into him, but she is only able to remove his pain for now. Something is stopping her from taking the damage from his eyes away. "Lover, I..I'm sorry. I love you and I will punish myself for this wrong I did you.”

Vargoth opens his eyes at the word punish, but no emotion can be seen is his damaged face, nothing at all, “Don't you dare... I did this to stop you from being hurt, for you it is worth it and now I know truly what I would do for you and it makes me feel alive again.” “Damn, what’s happened to my eyes.” He then looks towards the staff and grunts at it, “It should be kind of okay now. Just promise me you won't hurt yourself, I am your bodyguard remember.” The exhausted half-elf kisses her and falls asleep while giving her a hug. He is in a happy mood even though he know the worst for him is yet to come, but he knows he has something to fight for and he would tear this world apart before letting anything happen to her.
