RP:The Silver and The Berserker

From HollowWiki

Location: Frostmaw Fort

Synopsis: Eirik meanders into the fort seeking Queen Hildegarde. He interrupts a sparring session, though patient and discusses the plan he has created. Hildegarde tells him of Pilar, and to use her as the Eyrie contact. Both share a moment over their own issues, but neither give much word to it. Eirik feels lost and Queen Hildegarde parts ways with Eirik as friends.

The Silver and The Berserker

Eirik, despite the ongoing rumors running through Xalious is -not- Frostmaws stud, set to produce Hildegarde and heir to the throne. Nor is he set to produce the frozen city with warriors of broad shouldered stock and Lycanthropic heritage. Instead he is but a man who has earned a title during the Yule Ball. He knows this and so do most - but he can't help finding such rumors ludacris and ridiculous. The Berserker is donned in his hodgepodge mixture of armor gathered from around Lithrydel; Larket, Frostmaw and Venturil. Such a thing is true to his heritage, laying claim to places he has had some sort of violent interference with. Armored steps bring him into the fort of Frostmaw looking for Queen Hildegarde so that he might discuss plans to have the Eyrie evacuate the witches of Larket. Something that Sharna, inside of the camp, is working to prepare them all for. He had a plan, which does not include the Eyrie going to war - such a thing might only cause backlash and he's not sure how committed they are to it. Silver hues scan the faces of guards as he comes to an abrupt halt, seeking the silvers form.

Hildegarde, ever the warrior, was in the midst of a spar with a humanoid looking man. His strength suggested that there was something more to him, but he certainly looked human. He lunged sword first at the unarmed Hildegarde, who stepped to the right away from the lunge and then left to go inward again; her forearm striking out at the man's throat as her other hand sought to grasp his wrist and control the blade. Rather than push the blade away, Hildegarde pulled the man's wrist towards her and kept her strength focused there so he couldn't regain control of the blade. As Eirik entered the fort and witnessed the spectacle, Lisbeth offered him a wry grin and gestured at Hildegarde as if to say 'our Queen, right?' The Silver's opponent struggled to regain control of his blade, wasting effort and energy before trying to kick out at Hildegarde who merely stepped back and tugged the wrist along with her. "Ah, Eirik, good to see you!" she called across the hall, keeping her grip and focus upon her struggling opponent.

Eirik moves his sights from Lisbeth to Hildegarde and the struggling male. It seems that once again he is to witness his Queens triumph over another; at least this time it isn't him. Nor is he being mounted by her. He lofts a brow upon his scarred visage - examining the silvers posture and her opponents. "You aren't going to out muscle her." Eirik finally chimes in, "It's a waste of effort to assume so and continue the course. When facing a bear, use its strength against it." He steps forward clearly intent to watch this bout to its outcome. "If you feel that you must wrench the blade from her grasp, at least give it full effort and wrap your leg behind her knee, so when she backpedals, she might trip. A change of position can increase your chances. Though if I were you, I'd just let go of the blade, because I'm quite sure this is already over." Hildegarde is quite good at scrapping without weapons, he has bore witness to this himself. Only when this session is done will Eirik turn to the duties that have brought him here.

Hildegarde's opponent has wasted much of his time only groaning and struggling against Hildegarde's grasp, his wild eyes now upon Eirik as he bares his teeth at the lycan; evidently angry at the friendly advice. Rather than attempt to strike out at Hildegarde, the man kicks his leg out in some vain hope that he could actually reach Eirik and strike him. Instead, he creates an opportunity for Hildegarde to release his wrist; step in just slightly and kick him in the crotch. Her opponent collapses in a wheeze, the Queen steps away and a pair from the Queensguard step forward to clear the floor and get the man the aid he requires. "Thank you for your patience," she said with gratitude, clasping her hand upon Eirik's shoulder in a display of familiarity. "It's always good to see you in Frostmaw. I heard you participated in a fighting ring?" she asked, evidently making some conversation as she guided him to the throne room; the massive doors closing emphatically behind them. Privacy was required. "No prying eyes or ears now."

Eiriks head tilts while watching the final outcome of this little sparring session. Being kicked in the jewels is never a fun situation to be suddenly broadsided with. He -almost- felt bad for him, but then again, you don't learn by having soft opponents. A simple tilt of the head towards the silver gives a less than formal acknowledgement of who she is and what title she bares here. "It's good to be back here, though my trip will be brief." Queen Hildegarde perhaps knows his reasoning for coming already and is obviously the reason why they are ushered into a more private setting. "I did." His own silver hues twist to meet her, but his expression is sour. "It was in Craughmoyle at the Redskulls Trophy ring against the Titan." Shishi for lack of better words. "Unfortunately, someone attacked him during the match. Shot him with a bolt that caused a very odd scene. While in the match I continued to fight, as did he. I was called a cheat and kicked from the ring as if I had set the whole thing up." Eirik shakes his head firmly - irritation prevails in that scarred expression. "But my frustrations with those involved are not why I have come here, but rest assured, I will hunt them down." His words trail off at that last expression of his soon to come actions. Janita is the first on his list. "I've come to see when I may meet with your Eyrie. Those few who remain in camps are nearly ready to leave. Just a couple more nights and everything will be readied. The plan, is to cause a distraction, and sneak them out through a gap in the wall caused by Kahrans attack. I can handle the distraction, whilst the other team gets them out. I need the Eyrie to meet them in the forest in the cover of darkness." He pauses and waits to see what Hilde might think about his plans. "At that point, fly them here and help them as you can?" His eyes move from her finally to settle upon the entrance they had walked through. "I'm ready to be done with that place."

Hildegarde listened to Eirik's retelling of the fight, frowning when he mentions the bolt being fired and the scene being set up to look as though Eirik had cheated during the fight. The Silver couldn't understand why someone would want to make the fight look as though it had been rigged, unless they knew something about Eirik and his intentions towards Larket? Who knew. It was impossible to tell. "I'm sorry that happened, Eirik. I hear you've taken up the challenge of the Titans of Winter tournament... perhaps you'll get your chance to face Shishi again in a fair environment," she suggested. When Eirik explains he wishes to know if the Eyrie is ready and when he might meet with them, Hildegarde nods her head. "Macon will likely tear down the Eyrie outpost that was partially constructed in Larket. It means we have an excuse for The Eyrie to land in Larket, really, we're there to reclaim materials or key documents and so on. That gives us an excuse if questioned." In terms of who might be the person to talk to on this, Hilde needs to take a moment to think about it. "I can't go and help you myself, much as I'd like to," it'd be an invitation for outright war, "but Pilar is heavily invested in this. She's part of the Eyrie. Think you could talk to her about it?"

Eirik merely shrugs at Hildegardes words. Perhaps he had what it took to climb to the top and face Shishi in the tournament, then again, maybe not? A partial grin comes to his features over that thought. "Well, we shall see if I can reach him there." Though news of Pilar does not surprise him, she had told him of her allegiance with the Eyrie. "I know Pilar." The northman nearly rolls his eyes. "She and I do not get along, but if she is willing to help, I'd gladly take it." Another moment pauses between the two while he mulls this information over. "Actually, would you be willing to send her a missive to contact me? It would probably be better received by you than me?" His own past deeds with the witches of Larket is what has set these two at odds. She prefers to accuse than listen. Eirik would wait for her response and give a bow, noting the end of that which he needed to discuss. The Berserker would take his leave if she has nothing else to say.

Hildegarde deeply sympathises with the desire to roll the eyes. She just about refrains from doing so, given that she's already lost an eye and if she rolls her eye over this issue she might lose it it'd be that hard. "She is quite angry with me, which she has made very clear. Rather disrespectfully, if you ask me," Hildegarde usually refrained from such commentary, so whatever Pilar had done to offend her had obviously been over a good stretch of time! "I'll write to her, though. I'll stress the importance of her meeting with you." As Eirik prepares to leave, Hildegarde raises her hand, "Eirik, before you go," she glances around, "I need you to know. You're still a man of Frostmaw. No matter what. If you need anything, you need only ask me. I know you do not often call me your Queen, but... you are a man of Frostmaw, meaning you are under my care. Whatever you need to bring justice, I will do to help."

Eirik comes to a halt at Hildegardes words, which he knows to be nothing more than a guiding light. He's appreciative of them, that's for sure. His silver gaze moves back to the Queen of Frostmaw. "You and yours can always call upon me. But I'm not really sure where I belong anymore." Those eyes finally shift away once more, "Regardless, I will always come to aid Frostmaw." The northman doesn't really know what else to say. She has been nothing but kind to him, but his mind is twisted with thoughts. Deeds of his past, whether committed here or not. "All I want right now is to be finished with Larket. To wipe my hands free of that place." His motives are revealed, beyond just his choice to help them. "I'll see you soon, Queen Hildegarde."

Hildegarde was a woman who appreciated honesty and truth. Eirik was a warrior, like her. They could appreciate the truth. "I hope I do not need to call upon your aid," she said with a smile, extending her hand out to Eirik for a farewell shake. It's not just a farewell for this meeting, but a more final kind of farewell; something to say he had no binding tie to Frostmaw and he was parting in friendship. "Aye, I think that's something we all wish," she said softly, hoping Eirik would grasp her forearm and complete the warrior's shake in farewell. With all of that wrapped up, Hildegarde would send a missive to both Pilar and Mistral, Master Scout, of the Eyrie.

Eirik isn't so much parting a friendship nor ties with Frostmaw or Hildegarde, and is instead merely offering his thoughts about recent events. Truth be told Eirik has done some disgusting things, and the Queen of Frostmaw had never looked down on him for that. It is this reason that he does meet that shake, with a firm grip of his own. It's true that this has been what he has called home for some time, but honestly, how much of his attention has gone here? With the issues in Larket and his adventures in Venturil, he hasn't been a worthy man for her. He's not an asset, and is still lost over the direction he should take. Right now though, he does seek to give aid to those he once called enemies, and the silver had given him the means to claim it. "Thank you, my Queen." He is truly appreciative of this, and words don't express it enough. Perhaps the smile upon his scarred visage does so? However, it's been a long time since he has uttered those words. It had been even longer since he had walked away from the warriors guild. Too long since he had spoken with Lionel. He still has yet to offer an apology. With a nod of farewell, Eirik too takes his leave.
