The Eyrie Representative

Eirik has not dared to enter this spire. It’s not his turf and instead the berserker stands outside looking upon its smoothed surfaces with amazement. He’s never before seen a building that looked similar and such a sight bewilders his mind. However, his examination of the structure ends after a few minutes and Eirik sets his mind to the task of waiting for Pilar - mulling over the thoughts of their previous encounter. Would this meeting go well or would it go just as bad as the others? He honestly expected the later and has come mentally prepared for such. Because he is once again in Frostmaw and preparing for a fight that is to come tomorrow, he stands clad in that armor he has gathered from around Lithrydel. Bits and pieces from many regions which he has had some involvement in; Frostmaw, Larket and Venturil. He is also armed with sword and shield which are both strapped to his frame. However, a lone spear sits impaled in the ground next to him, but he has no intent to use it. Not for this meeting, but one can never be too sure. His silver eyes stare off into the distance, while his visage remains bereft of emotion.

Pilar had hurried to Frostmaw the moment she got the letter from Hildegarde. She didn't like being ordered around but, well, it came with being part of the Eyrie. It made her sad that Hildegarde thought she needed to order her to do something. She'd really damaged their friendship, hadn't she? Nevertheless, she came on the back of her couatl, Emielle, landing before the spire. She was dressed in her usual yellow pinafore, silver leg poking out from under the skirt. She dismissed Emielle and walked toward the tower. She saw the warrior, presumably the one Hildegarde wanted her to meet with, and picked up her pace. She slowed to a stop however when she got close enough to see who it was. Several things raced through her mind as she stood there, several feet away. Eventually, she began the approach again. When she was close enough, she said, “So... You weren't lying. I'm sorry for doubting you.”

Eirik finds himself fighting his own thoughts. He deserved the gripes thrown at him from Pilar, but he hoped that she wouldn’t involve Lanara. That is really his only sour point of the past with her. He does take note of her couatl and suddenly he realizes the moment is upon him. Eirik swallows back that lump growing in his throat and nods to her statement. “I’m sorry that I couldn’t speak of my plans until now and for my secrecy.” His gaze shifts to the ground for a moment, and then back to her. “I’m also sorry that speaking to a deaf, battle crazed Dwarf, is easier than talking to myself. But yes, I have been working on things.” He gives a small smile to Pilar, it’s a good thing that Hildegarde kept to her word, and that Pilar herself is able to witness this. “I would like to use the Eyrie as a transport after a team I’m building gets the witches out of the camp. A woman inside, named Sharna, is preparing the witches for it. A man named Bastion will be providing quick medical aid to them in the forest just north of the camp so they will survive the journey to Frostmaw.” After his lengthy bit of explanation, he gives a pause to see if Pilar understands what he is discussing. “I’m hoping to not use the Eyrie for more than medical assistance in the woods and transportation. Mostly because of the implications that might cause politically. However, to get them out, I’m working on a distraction for the guards.” He thinks his plan over and has another question for Pilar. “Are there anymore members of the Eyrie who might be willing to lend their aid as well?”

Pilar followed along well enough. “Politics. Ugh.” Don't even get her started. “I know Alvina and Hudson are members and are sympathetic, but... they're also friends with Josleen. Or at least Alvina is. Was. I haven't seen them in awhile. Not to mention, she and Hudson are married, so... I don't know. It's a delicate situation.” She fiddled with her wedding ring. “I, um... met with Lanara. Heard you proposed. Congratulations.”

Eirik does think that his plan will keep Hudson and Alvina from having to expose themselves to Josleen or anyone else by just providing transport assistance. Which is part of why he’s chosen to have the Eyries aid come as such. He didn’t want to put anyone in the hot seat between Larket and Frostmaw. He knows that political tensions are high, especially after Hildegarde burned that treaty. Eirik nods to her words regardless and is taken back by her next statement. “I uh.” He stammers for a moment. “I didn’t know you two talked.” A genuine smile crosses his lips, revealing rows of near perfect ivory teeth. “Thank you Pilar.” What an unexpected turn of events! That comment has his walls dropping further and a hand reaches up to idly scratch at the nape of his neck. “She’s the greatest right?” He realizes that he’s suddenly been side tracked and shakes his head. “Do you think you and the other members would be willing to take care of the transport?” An odd shift back to the plan he has provided.

Pilar shrugged. “Eh, she's okay, I guess.” But her grin made it easy to determine that she was teasing. “I would be more than happy to help, of course. I also have some healing abilities, if those are needed. I'm not an expert, but I can at least stabilize someone if they're severely hurt. As for the others, I can't speak for them, but I don't know why they'd say no.”

Eirik can’t help but to actually laugh when she states that joke. In many ways, Lanara is too good for him, but she is and has been willing to give him the chance to prove himself. But when Pilar speaks of offering her own help with healing he grins, once more. “That would be very appreciated, by myself and… More importantly, by those who have been wronged there by myself and others.” He hates the truth of his path, but he knows that having the Eyrie there will help his plans in so many different ways. The witches for one, will be far calmer, and two they will see that he has put effort into the plans. “Thank you for giving me the chance to prove myself.” It’s another beat in his conversation with her, one that he is proud of.

Pilar offered him a smile. “It's Lanara's doing. She really believes in you, so, I figured, I should give you a shot, too.”

Eirik falls silent for a moment, letting the weight of Pilars words settle in his mind. “Thank you Pilar.” He proffers with a sincere tone, he knows that Lanara has been fighting many battles against peoples opinions of him. He only hopes that he doesn’t fail them all. “For being part of this and offering me the chance to prove myself to be working on the right side of things for once.” He finally offers a hand forward to settle the matter with a shake. “I will seek out Hudson and Alvina. If they agree I will send a letter to all three of you when the time is upon us.” Whether she accepts the handshake or not, Eirik then plucks his spear from the ground, gives a final nod before taking his leave. That went much better than he had hoped.
