Part of the Do You Believe In Magic? Arc

Summary: Within the dragon's lair, Khitti's unfortunate fate continues to torture her and her hope of escape begins to dwindle.

Raiez's Lair (Dead End)

There was, between the borders of Xalious and Frostmaw, a cave. This cave was not dug out by man or dwarf, but rather eroded away by water cast out by the waterfall not overly far away, and within the cave was a grand lake. Beyond where the waterfall fed the lake, the waters were still, a veritable mirror of water set within a pristine enclosure of shimmering stones. But these stones were not all that shimmered within this cave; no, on its farthest shore sat a great collection of things magical, and the auras at play spat angrily at each other as they piled haphazardly atop each other. Soft footfalls took a tailed, feminine form past these treasures, a greedy look given to them before ultimately dismissing their existence. They were parts of her hoard from centuries past, from a time when archmages were a copper a dozen. No, the woman's interest was held by jars deeper in the cave, in a room that was so artificially crafted that it clashed with the natural beauty that surrounded it. In these jars were what appeared to be dolls, each dressed as a practitioner of magic, save for two. Both redheads, one a male and one a female, the dolls were of exquisite quality, but there was something strange about these dolls, even the ones that went largely ignored by the raven-haired woman. The male redhead was what gave it away to any that would have been unlucky enough to find themselves in the lair - though none living would have known where to look to begin with - by moving. Yes, moving! He was moving as though being attacked, his body flowing through the motions of a swordplay routine that Raiez had witnessed many times before since she acquired him. It was a dazzling display, and likely one that, were the Blue not a dragon, would have made her fear for her life. This one creature, of all those she had collected, was, perhaps, the most physically intimidating. But that wasn't why he was in her collection, but that was made evident a few moments later when the entire jar was filled with electricity that surged out from the male's body. His penchant for lightning had attracted her attention to him, and when she smelled the aether that flowed from the currents of electricity, she knew he had to be hers. She smirked as he continued with his routine and moved on to the next jar containing the redheaded female. She was the newest addition, a woman the Blue had hounded multiple times and had coveted since their first meeting. Her smile turned to a grin as she peered down into the jar and presumed to tap on the glass as a child would to a snake's glass cage.

The aforementioned redheaded female was not happy. Nor had she been since her kidnapping. Oh, it wasn't just because she'd ran away. Chickened out entirely because well...it's a dragon. Raiez isn't exactly like those mortal necromancers and their undead pets that Khitti had dealt with in the past. Hell, she wasn't even on the same level as the mindflayer, even with it's psychic abilities and love of manipulation. No. This was a living, breathing dragon. One that was entirely not at all like Hildegarde the Silver, the scaly female that had sworn her life to protect others. Raiez Vayne was, just like her name, entirely vain and incredibly greedy. Khitti, much like before, was taken off guard by the Blue's desire to collect all things magical, even herself. Khitti hadn't even thought of herself as special, as something that one would want to collect. She was wrong. So very, very wrong. Even with all of this factored in, and with Raiez tapping on the glass with that horrid grin of hers, the same Khitti had seen in Frostmaw, even that wasn't as bad. What was bad, as she sat here in her little jar, was the fact that she was stuck right next to that guy. Yes, -that- guy. The one that had dubbed her Queen of Spiders. Why, of all the mages that she could've been put next to, did it have to be him? She stared at him as he moved about, a look of utter disgust written plainly on her face, her line of sight only shifting as the tapping against the glass registered in her mind. The vampiress looked to Raiez, narrowing her emerald gaze at the dragon, a soft hiss passing her lips, and a not so nice gesture of a solitary middle finger offered to the beast.

The gesture granted to her by the female redhead was met with a great bout of mirth, one that echoed off the walls of the sub-cave that had been blasted into existence by the Blue's lightning breath and magics. "Oh, little butterfly, such crude gesticulations are far from becoming," she chided the shrunken ranger before she moved to harass the male of the pair. "I've brought presents for you," she cooed as she opened the lid to his containment. Narrowed eyes settled on the opening from within the jar, especially when a handful of weapons that had either been crafted or shrunken to fit his size were dropped in. Well, that was one way to care for your pets. Just drop a bunch of sharp objects at them and hope for the best. He growled as the lid was secured again, but with no where to go, he contented himself to start rummaging through the supplied weapons. Once more Raiez turned her attention to Khitti's jar, and the sheer mischief that was in the dragon's eyes was sure to be unsettling. "As for you, my rude little vixen," she said with what could only be described as a malicious purr, "I have something a little less...bloody." As she did with the previous captive, she opened the lid to Khitti's jar, but this time the woman moved the jar to the floor. With naught but a simple command word, Khitti would find herself expelled from the jar and back to full size...to be greeting by Raiez holding an armful of rune-inscribed books.

Khitti kept her silence and only made a face at Raiez, her tongue poking out at the dragon in a further display of disgust towards the lizard woman. Soon, she's left alone again, and the scene playing out in the jar next to her is watched as the weapons fall into the male's almost literal lap. While, it looked positively terrifying and obviously even dangerous, the briefest of malicious grins forms on Khitti's lips. Oh, if only one or two of the various sharp objects hadn't missed him, she would've been entirely pleased. It would've made for a lovely distraction away from the dour mood she'd been in since her capture. Her train of slightly murderous thought is derailed quickly, however, and the smile wiped away as Raiez not only addresses her, but...lets her out? A few blinks is given as she's returned to her normal size, and then towards the books as well. "Do you really zhink zhat some books is going to sway me to hate you less? And couldn't you have put me next to someone a little less...aggravating?" She glares at the male over her shoulder before looking to the dragon again. Falling silent, she eyed the books. It was so tempting. So so tempting. Reading was nearly a drug to her. She could take just one and she'd be happy, if even for a little while. A hand even reaches out, as if to take one, before quickly pulling back, silent chiding going on in her head as she sighed outwardly.

Raiez put on such an innocent and hurt look that it was almost insulting. "Why, I have done nothing to make you hate me! I have provided you with a companion of your own kind, food, and now literature!" The Blue saw that hand reach out, and a twinkle formed in the dragon's eye as she casually moved one of the books to the top of the pile. It was a leather-bound book, black in color, embossed with a rose on its cover, and, most importantly to Raiez since she could actually sense it, it held a magical aura. "Could you honestly say no to these treasu-" She never got to finish what she was saying as suddenly there was the sound of glass falling with a thud and rolling off of a raised platform. With a crash it landed, and soon the other redhead was at full size. With one of the new weapons, a greatsword with a keen edge, enlarged and in hand, he settled into a combat-ready stance. All but one of the books were dropped, changed from a neat stack to an unceremonious pile, and that one book was flipped open. Raiez didn't care what the spell was, so long as it distracted the volatile male, but she didn't expect what happened next. A blinding flash of light surrounded the man, and when it subsided, he stood there, unphased...save that suddenly -he- was a -she-. A few blinks passed from the redhead as the realization of the extra weight in the torso region dawned, and a hand went up to feel for the evidence. The redhead couldn't muster the courage to look down, but the physical evidence was there. Slowly, ever so slowly, further evidence was sought, and when discovered a flurry of curses started flowing from far less masculine lips and an accusatory finger was leveled at the dragon. "You! What have you done!" Truly, Raiez should have provided the fellow with a shirt, because now the man-turned-woman was quite the indecent sight.

The book! Oh gods, it's the book. The one book that could make everything better. And so, as Raiez becomes thoroughly distracted and drops the pile, the book is quickly snatched up before it hits the floor. It's stared at like an addict with their chosen form of self-medication, a grin the size of the Grand Canyon splits Khitti's lips, a look of pure joy in her eyes. Well, it didn't last long. As she clutched that book to her chest, intent on never letting go, she spins to finally seen what had happened, the scent of newly used magic in the air, alerting her to the situation. It's then that she screams, because of course everything on the other redhead was clearly hanging out. "VHAT IN ZHE NINE HELLS DID YOU DO?!" The intial shock of having to see another female shirtless (Raiez having been the first) wears off, and as it registers in her head what just happened she...well...she begins laughing hysterically. This is no normal laughter. It's so loud and so uncontained that she sounds like she might actually be insane and in need of a padded cell. Justice had been served to the male, and it came with dangly lady bits.

Raiez just stood there and blinked. That was -not- what she had expected. What in the hells was that spell? Who would even -think- to write a spell like that? Oh, wait. It was probably some creepy old mage with a long, grey beard who wanted to see a pair every now and again. But still. If 'wtf' were a thing, she'd have said it. As for the newly vagina-ized woman, she was flailing about irately, and in the process giving both Raiez and Khitti one heck of a show. "Turn me back! Turn me back now!" While Raiez was more than amused by the entire event, she did take some pity on the poor lad...lass...whatever and go back to the page to find the counterspell. Unfortunately, that spell had been the end of one page, and the next one seemed to be missing, a torn margin all that remained of the following set of spells. The look on the Blue's face only said "Whoopsie," and the redhead got even more irate. Poor Khitti. Flee, little Spider Queen, flee back to your jar and take solace in your book.

Khitti's laughter fades as the lightning wielder's new assets flop back in forth right in front of her, Khitti's gaze following them back and forth awkwardly as if she were watching some weird sort of tennis match. Her right eye twitches a bit, silently thanking the fact that Pilar wasn't here because things would escalate quickly. The dark ranger coughs, that shroud of breast-induced bewilderment making things even more weird for her as she moves her gaze away. It was clear that the now she was not at all used to having such delicate objects on her chest and was likely going to give herself a black eye at this point in her violent flailing. She felt that anger though as it radiated from the redhead, and slowly Khitti backed away, not yet going into the jar, but at least getting out of range of whatever destruction might befall the dragon that had doomed the former male to such a fate. It's then though, as her anger flows, that Amarrah decides to make herself known. She doesn't do much, however, except flit about around Khitti and settles herself atop the book at the ranger held, scoping out the scene as it played out.

Raiez stared at the former male and the antics going on, her own thoughts mirroring those of Khitti. "You might want to calm down before you hit yourself in the face," she warned, which earned the dragon a confused look. "Take it from someone who's been a woman all her life." As the redhead was mulling that over, and probably trying to come to grips with the new body magicked to them, the Blue turned to Khitti. "Well, good news, I guess? You get a roommate!" Did that mean...Was she going to put..."The lightning mouse gets to share your jar, now." Yup. That's exactly what it meant. Raiez went to the pile of dropped books and took them to Khitti, though she did hold on to the one with the spell that put the dark ranger's new cellmate into such a state. Maybe, just maybe, there would be a spell in there that would help. As for the other redhead, well, once Amarrah made herself known, all attention was stolen from the other two women. This creature had such a magical quality about it that the living lightning rod couldn't help but be entranced. Soft footfalls brought the vampire closer and closer, which, in turn, brought her closer to Khitti and Raiez. A hand reached out, a hand still made of metal, and something strange happened. Something was pulled into the redhead's body, and such a startle did it give her that the hand was jerked back. Well, just one more thing to ponder.

Khitti didn't get much of a chance to protest against Raiez's decision to put the two of them together before those breasts that had magically appeared was now right in her face. Curse her short stature. "C-could you get zhose out of my face please?" was muttered offhandedly, her gaze averted again, though not before she caught that weird transfer of well...whatever the hell it was. Amarrah's butterfly antennae twitched idly, as if she too were considering something, but she too drew away, disappating into a cloud of smoke. Khitti's brows knit together as she looks from where the shadow creature had been, to the other redhead's face, making damn sure she didn't look any lower than her shoulders. "Vhat zhe hell did you do?" A step back is taken, closer towards her jar, "You...you stay on your side of zhe damn jar, do you hear me?" She didn't sound entirely afraid, more or less just confused at the moment, though she did her best to make her tone of voice as stern as possible. A glare was sent to Raiez, as well as a frown, "Does -she- really have to be in zhere vith me? I don't trust her at all." Being the fact that she didn't have much of a choice when it came to being in the cave, she could at least try to worm her way out of having to share a room with -her-.

The redhead said nothing, despite the question and the demand, though Raiez did acknowledge the inquiry about having to share a jar. She didn't say anything, however, she simply went to where she had set Khitti's jar and picked it up, magicked the other redhead to the shrunken size, put her and her sharp toys in the jar, and then looked at the ranger with an upraised brow. "Now you two learn to play nice, or I'm going to have to get you a get-along shirt." The dragon gave Khitti no time to dispute anything as she soon shrank the woman to a similar, though naturally slightly smaller, size than her new jar companion. Soon enough, Khitti was set in the container with her own set of goodies, and when the jar was set back on its shelf the dragon could only hope that she wouldn't come back later to a jar full of body parts and blood. Those magical jars were so hard to come by these days, and so, so very hard to clean.

Khitti got her answer in the form of being stuffed back in that jar. Ugh. This was so not cool. She slams her right fist against the wall of her prison, clutching that book she so dearly loved in the other, "RAIEZ! Let me out! I have zhings to do! I'm supposed to go on vacation! I'm..." Her thoughts shifted towards Dominic and a frown appeared again, the vampiress ultimately giving up on shouting at dragon. It was no use. She wasn't going to get her fairy tale ending with Dominic. Not while she was stuck in this damned cave. Who knew if anyone was even going to look for her anyway? Brand probably forced Dominic to give up and move on. It was the only logical choice. Sighing heavily, she slumps down into the side of the glass, glaring at her new cellmate before burrowing her face in the book. It was a welcome distraction, but who knew how long it was going to keep her sane and vaguely happy.
