RP:Thavene meets Vehara

From HollowWiki

Vehara walks through the streets of Craughmoyle, her steps quiet yet measured as they lead toward the Guardhouse. An ebon cloak conceals her form and face, shrouding her identity from view for the time being; it doesn't take long for the half-drow to locate the guardhouse, being quite familiar with Craughmoyle after several trips to Giolla's and whatnot. The guards before the doors seem to tense as the robed figure approaches, leading her to stop before a misunderstanding is made. Reaching either hand to the hood of her cloak, Hara pulls it free, revealing her ebon-skinned face and the equally dark hair that settles across her shoulders. "I mean no harm. I've come inquiring about the theft...I'm here to offer my services and assistance."

Thavene notices Vehara walk towards the Guardhouse and he stands up from the table. "At ease men" then grabbing his spear he motions for Vehara to come in and take a seat at his table, he then sits and ask the drow "what kind of services do you have to offer in finding the jewel?"

Vehara gives a respectful nod as she passes through the threshold and into the guardhouse proper, flashing a brief smile Thavene's way at the offered chair. She lowers into it soon after, folding her hands into her lap while her eyes come to meet the dwarf's own. "I shall not boast, I will only give you an accurate description of my abilities. I'm an adept tracker and hunter of sorts...I've taken many similar jobs in the past. Some use skills similar to mine for nefarious purposes, but I've always put mine to use in snuffing out the wicked...or in this case, rounding up ruffians. Do you have anymore details of this feline who has stolen it?"

Thavene nods then stroking his long beard his eyes peer out from his giant helmet. well typically when there is a theft in this city it involves the local silvertooths. The Silvertooth Clan were once honorable and acted as the King's eyes and ears and his hand if the matter needed so, although recently they use the skills they have passed down for greed."

Vehara nods, taking in what the dwarf can offer on the case. A hand comes to settle at her chin in thought, letting a short hum pass through her lips. "I see. Do you have any leads as to their whereabouts these days? Maybe some hint of where they station these thefts out of? I'm certain they don't stick to one location alone, but any sort of lead would help me immensely." She pauses a moment before adding one further question, "Do you belief the thief is particularly dangerous? I'll need to know which tools to take along for the hunt."

Thavene laughs for a moment "I see your new to Dwarven politics. It's not hard to find a Silvertooth there are even a few honorable ones among them such as Lord Whurlond Silvertooth. Although I would warn you, even if you manage to be granted an audience with him he is a member of the Council of Long Beards and if you offend him, one word and you will be on the executioner's block."

Vehara smirks softly, her arms coming to cross up beneath her chest. "I see. No worries there, I have no intentions of being rude. Are you saying, then, that I should seek him out for more information on our thief? Or has he already offered such to the dwarves?"

Thavene nods "he has yet to provide any useful information to the guard, but he does use his position to protect his family. If his family had nothing to do with it then they would likely atleast know who did and to get him to tell you who that is will cost you something. He is reasonable though so the price should be affordable. As far as the thief goes no guards were hurt during the robbery so it seems the thief doesn't desire violence."

Vehara soaks up all of this information readily, much like a sponge. The half-drow tips her dark-haired head, continuing on. "If the thief is a member of his clan, it's possible he is sensitive to the man - or woman - being hunted down despite their offense. If assurances are made for the thief's safety even upon capture, it may make him more willing to assist. That said, he would need to broker some sort of deal between the dwarves as to how the thief can be punished when the time comes."

Thavene said, "the thief is a feline that is known and as far as what happens to the thief is of no real matter, what is more important is the recovery of the jewel and to discover who let this thief into the palace and why the jewel was stolen."

Vehara nods once more, lowering her arms just across her stomach as her posture shifts slightly. "Very well then. I suppose the first order of business is to request an audience with this Lord Whurlond. Do you know where I should start in doing so, perhaps?"

Thavene said to Vehara, "you should go to the palace to talk to Ivengere Inkhand and he will either allow you inside the palace or not."

Vehara said to you, "Very well. I suppose that's the next step, then."
