Talyara sits her usual oversized armchair near the fire, snuggled under a warm blanket with her legs tucked underneath her body. Her nose was read and she sniffles before coughing into the crook of her arm so as not to spread her germs. Just then a giantess server makes her way over to the witch and hands over a steaming mug of tea. “Here ya go Witchling,” she says affectionately, adding a pat to Taly’s shoulder for good measure. “It’s good to see you around here again,” she says before bustling off to take care of some other tables. Taly wraps her fingers around the hot mug and lowers her face towards it to inhale the steal, releasing a sigh of contentment at the comforting aroma.

Thalra hadn't previously ventured to frostmaw, so the cold was new to her, at least back when she was back in her orginal home with her second husband there had been cold snaps, but nothing like this. Entering the tavern with some haste she shut the door on the cold as quick as she could. Her red eyes were wide still trying realize just how cold it was. Before she leaned back on the door in relief. She wore a woolin coat with a pair of long woolin legwear that covered her. Pulling the the hood away from her eyes and brushing the snow off, she moved toward the counter of the tavern and offered her best smile despite the cold. "Something warm please, preferably ale." As she waited for her drink she slipped off her mittens, and took a seat by the fire, before noticing the elf nearby. "Oh sorry, this pit taken?" She said offering to get up.

Talyara hadn’t looked up when she heard the door open—there was enough traffic in and out of the tavern that she barely gave it a notice aside from wrapping her blanket around her more tightly. Emerald eyes stare idly into the dancing flames until a voice draws her up from the depths of her wandering mind. Taly gives her head a shake, causing chestnut curls to dance about her shoulders and blinks up at Thalra. “Oh, feel free to join me!” She says with a kind smile although their is a slight croakiness to her tone. “There are plenty of flames to go around.”

Thalra smiled with a genuine friendlyiness, and sat down. "Thank you." Thalra shivered, "I heard frostmaw was cold but I hadn't expected it to be this cold." Moving her hands over the fire trying to get them warm. "You okay, you sound a little croaky in the throat." She said with a small giggle. "If you want I have something for that."

Talyara clears her throat and takes a tentative sip of her tea before responding to the drow woman who sits across from her. “Ah, yes. I’ve lived here temporarily on and off for several years and the cold can still sometimes be oppressive to me.” At the question of her well being the witch bows her head politely. “Just fighting off a bit of a cold, but thank you. The healers at the fort clinic have kept me in full supply of medicine potions.” Taly cants her head to the side as she observes the woman for a moment. “What brings you up this far north?”

Thalra smiles and nods understanding about the potions. "Ah well I am glad one of us is used to it at least some of the time." She chuckled, and shook her head as Aodhan, perked up its head, from the fire. "Well aren't you cute" She said with a smile. "I came up here to advertise for the Grand Opening of my shop in Cenril, though now I am thinking I should have paid somone to do it, somone who don't mind the cold, brrr."

Talyara chuckles understandingly and bobs her head. “Aye, that might have been your best bet. At least you can simply advertise and then be on your way to warmer climates,” she offers the woman with a kind smile before leaning forward and extending her hand out to the drow. “My name is Talyara, by the way. But almost everyone calls me Taly. What are you opening up in Cenril?”

Thalra smiled taking the hand. "Pleasure to meet you Taly, my name is Thalra." and nodded, "I am opening a Potion, Elixer, shop called Thalra's Treatments and Tinctures, I am also looking for employees, hopefully Valrae, might send me some."

Talyara politely shakes Thalra’s hand before retreating back into the comfort of her chair, wrapping that hand around the mug once more in an attempt to leech its warmth. “Ooh that sounds fascinating!” she says brightly before once more turning her face into the crook of her arm as a coughing fit overcomes her. The witch takes a deep breath and swallows a mouthful of tea before continuing. “I wish you much luck with it!”

Thalra offering a smile, she then asks a single question. "You wouldn't happen to know a Lanara would you?" "Thank you, by the way, going to be difficult, being a drow in cenril is not the easiest thing, I have learned."

Talyara blinks at Thalra in surprise, her mouth falling open slightly to make a small ‘o’ shape. Still, this woman was a strangers and the witch wanted to err on the side of caution, especially with Cramer and his followers running loose. “I’ve heard of her. Why do you know you?” Taly asks with an arch of her brow.

Thalra noticed the change in Talys behavior. "We jog on sunday mornings from keylay to cenril. I bought a Frost Drake from her, as well. She just spoke of sister by your name, i was just wanting to know." She paused as her drink arrived, and she drank it quickly. "Ah so warming. Maybe I can grow Shiloh and see if I can get her to fly me down to Keylay. Better than the climb up, phew." She said with a laugh, and leaned back into her chair.

Talyara blinks a bit more slowly at Thalra’s revelation that she goes jogging with the elder sister every Sunday. “You must be mistaken, that can’t be -my- Lanara. -My- Lanara always -hated- agilities and would ignore the instructors who told us to jog. She would simply charge down the field without a care in the world!” The younger witch smiles gently at the memory and shakes her head. “Who is Shiloh?” she asks the woman, suddenly curious. “And goes down the mountain is not nearly as strenuous as going up it.”

Thalra shrugged, "Well I would go down, if there weren't that mountain sized dragon sleeping just yonder of the cliff. Or it might have been bigger than a mountain, cause I swear its head was up in the clouds, and it smell like it had been eating really large squid." She caught herself from rambling on, "Oh shiloh," She gave a little whistle, and the door to the tavern opened as a small dog sized frost drake wandered in, and shut the door with her tail. Nestled around the frost drakes, neck was unsual colored snake, who whose eyes stared at Thalra in the way of, "Why did you leave me out in the cold cold snow?" welcoming the frost drake into her lap. And placing the snake by the fire to warm up. "This is Shiloh, I picked her up from the Animal Shelter. and the snake, well thats Sherman, He's um, not native to these lands, kind of like myself. The snake chattered its jaw but distinctly made a little nod and then of course the shocking small but polite voice of, "Charmed."

Talyara considers Thalra’s words about a curious dragon she saw near the mountain up to Frostmaw. It sounded an awful lot like it could be her brother Scandal, but for now she holds her tongue on the matter and simply focuses on the door as the drow whistles. Green eyes follow the drake as it scampers into the tavern before hopping up into Thalra’s lap. The snake is met with admiration, the little witch always respectful of the slithering creatures. However, when is speaks she yelps quietly. “It talks!”

Thalra giggles, "yeah he does," The snake nodded, "I do, I do, no need to say it when I can say it." He looks up at her, "I am much bigger, but mobility is best to be small." Thalra smiles pulling out a vial of glowing blue gas, "I use this shrink their size, and I have another that I used to make them bigger." Shiloh looked at Sherman and licked him. "Hey, hey, not now, I am cold enough as it is." "He's an acid bog snake, I keep him around to scare off the Froads, should any or preferably the one loose in Lithrydale now."

Talyara looks at the snake curiously, blinking rather rapidly. She had never met a talking snake before (at least not one that wasn’t a naga) but she supposed it wasn’t completely out of the realm of possibility. Lanara had a snarky, talking reindeer after all so why would a charming snake be any different? “Well it’s a pleasure to meet you all,” the witch smiles brightly at the little group gathered around the fire. “That’s a neat trick, being able to shrink and grow them as need be. Does it hurt them at all? The constant changing of sizes?” Taly asks curiously. You was just about to answer when Sherman interrupted, "Nah, feels like a warm sensation over the body when you grow, and cool one when you shrink, and I've seen no long term effects."

Thalra smiled patting sherman's head, "Well, so long as all the ingredents are of quality then there are no worries, best to get the potion into a gas state, liquids well, there be problems with liquids, thankfully one can catch it when they make it, but the foolish might try it without. Shiloh licks Sherman again. Thalra, put on her mittens, "Well, stop by the shop sometime, I can show you more of what i make, and maybe you might get to watch me try out some of these potions. Or you can buy one." She smiles, and hands her business card, along with a 25% of coupon. "Here if your ever in the area, or there for the Grand opening this sunday, at 4pm." She moved towards the door, Shiloh picking sherman up with her mouth. Sherman who says, "Pleasure to see you in warmer countries..." Shiloh slurps him in up and swallows. Thalra barely notices but says, "Acid bog Snakes, immunity to acid, natural habitat." She winks, "See you around Taly."
