Hanging Corpse Tavern

Chapter One: Seeking Riss and Departing Hollow

Urith zoomed through the tavern door, almost bumping into the person who had left, the crazed pixie looked around wildly before calmly taking a seat in the corner. Strangely she sat there not saying a peep nor moved from her position.

Kasyr stretches out as he wanders into the tavern, eyes darting around as he searches for his intended target, "...Huh. Where es the bastard when you actually need him?"

Satoshi is tailing Kasyr, without really knowing why or where he's going, she's just following for the sake of following. And can't help voicing a quiet, "Which bastard?" as she peers around the tiefling's shoulder at him.

Riss wasn't up to anything, for once; no grand scheme, only a cigarette that was brought to his lips every now and then. Kasyr and Satoshi's presence were noted with a subtle shift of eyes to the door, but that's it. He didn't rise to greet them, nothing of a warm welcome. He just sat at the bar, flicking ashes into an empty mug.

Cashlin tip-toed into the tavern with much caution. Having only stumbled upon this place today, the woman made her way silently to a small table--clearly trying to go unnoticed.

Kasyr becomes duly aware of Riss' location, if only due to empathy alerting him to the fellows presence. Reaching one hand back, the hybrid gingerly prods at Satoshis' side, before tilting his head over towards his siblings location, "That bastard."

Satoshi unwittingly grants Cashlin's wish, ignoring the furtive arrival in favor of looking toward where her husband indicates--after twitching in protest to the prod. "Oh~. That one. Well, I kinda like that particular bastard." And then she's rudely interrupted by a pixie trying to force-feed her cake, to which she responds with a swipe and hiss. Satoshi's obviously not in the mood for sweet foods right now.

Riss turned on his stool and -- even though his feet hung only inches from the floor -- made an effort to hop from it. Of course, it did nothing but make him look like an overgrown child. His smoking companion was left smoldering at the bottom of an empty mug alongside several of its comrades. Slow, lethargic steps led him to his brother, stride stopping just feet away. "It's kind of odd calling your brother -- who saved your wife from plummeting to the bottom of a damn canyon -- a bastard. What do you need? You only find me if you ~need~ something." The glare that accompanied these words was well-matched.

Kasyr doesn't really notice Cashlin, either- his attention divided between the insane pixies attempts at playing with his wife...and the arrival of his brother. It's this later that trumps the hybrids attention however, coaxing the hybrid to simply plant his hands in his pockets and lean forward, "...Oh please. You call me a bastard all the time, as though I go out of my way to make tu miserable. I mean, vraiment, you have this unfortunate habit of just, rambling on et on about certain things...et trying to pick fights... Et then you wonder why I call you a bastard?" Straightening up, the hybrid gives Riss a serious look, "...I'm thankful for that you know..but er, what's wrong with you? You're normally a bit more...erm, upbeat than this. Get into an argument with that patient lady-love of yours? Have to go again?"

Urith stopped the insistent feeding and fled off to her corner to dine in style.

Urith could not help but yell out, "No! Not Derrik!"

Kasyr , internally, is wondering what he missed.

Satoshi gives one final shoo'ing wave at the pixie as she departs before returning her attention to the 'brothers', in time to catch Kasyr's description of Riss. "That sounds like you, actually~," she pipes in, ever helpful magus that she is, and then simply offers Christian a nod and smirk. "Thanks for that, by the by. Landing on your feet does no good from a height like that." Shrugging at this, Satoshi simply falls quiet and sidles up to the tiefling to just listen to the exchange.

Urith remained situated at the edge of the table, quiet so thus eavesdropping commenced!

Riss shook his head from side to side. "There's no need to bring her up. I've decided that I won't even let her know I'm back-- that way she can find someone who's just a bit more secure than I am. Anywho, nothing's wrong with me, just being an asshole, as usual." As an attempt to make himself feel just a tad bit better, he managed to smile and offer a drawn-out sigh. "So. In all honesty, what is it that you need? Like I said before, you only find me when you need something. And -- though I'm obligated, either way -- I'd like to lend a hand."

Kasyr shrugs a bit, before taking out a pair of cigarettes from his pocket. One's placed at his lips, before he simply offers Riss the other. "Well, I -wouldn't- mind if you dropped by more frequently. But you seem to be busy doing your whole...hero thing et all. As for what I want...Well. I want to go home, Riss. I need to make a deal with those things you made a deal with. Unless I want to be sort of..er." The hybrids next few words come out rather quickly, and condensed, "Erasedfromexistancebycertainaspectsoftheheavensforbearingapowerthatdefiesdivineedict." The tiefling than coughs, "...Just, you know, stuff. Because Daedria keeps me all informed et such. Soo. When can tu go?"

Satoshi looks, at the most, miffed by this revelation. But that might be because she's been told already. Or she's just good at masking her feelings. Either or, that doesn't stop her from vaguely tugging on the edge of the tiefling's scarf in a decidedly anxious manner, refraining from saying anything lest she betray her carefully constructed act.

Riss sighed a real, disappointed sigh. "You did this to yourself, y'know? That's what you get for having a thirst for power. But-- I can't, and won't let something like this happen. Brotherly Love, Heroic Inclination, whatever you want to call it~ I won't let some bastard gods wipe you from this place. So, you want to get rid of your power; what do you expect in return? That's the thing with these guys-- they're not self-serving in the least bit. They won't just take it and leave you high and dry. You have to make a deal, along with something else. But I'm not going to tell you the other bit. For fun, y'know?" Christian almost burst into laughter with the last bit of his speech, but managed to limit himself to a smirk. "I can't control air anymore, but, I now have an ability that practically tears my insides apart each and every time I use it. Get it?"

Kasyr tips his head off to one side, before simply smirking, "...Equivalent exchange, really? So for Ability et Tieflings blood, I wonder what they would give?Especially if I asked simply to be better at what I already do..." The tiefling allows himself a few more moments to ponder upon the possibilities before simply shrugging, "We'll work it out when we get there, I guess... So, erm? When do we leave, I suppose?"

Satoshi's ears perk up as she listens, but she keeps her own thoughts to herself on the entire affair while continuing the idle fidgeting of Kasyr's scarf. Until this is all sorted out, she has no desire to stray from him whatsoever.

Riss shrugged. "Well, considering that I have such a busy schedule--" Sarcasm. "--now would be just fine. I'll be outside. Be ready."

Riss exits north.

Kasyr waggles a finger in the air, "I suppose you ought to write a note to your knight, mm? Since we're likely running off to the port soon. ...Go leave it with Steadman, peut-etre."

Kasyr exits north.

Satoshi lingers long enough to hastily scribble out a note, give Steadman a scrutinizing look, and promptly force the note upon the ermine who's just poked his sleepy nose out from her hood. With a nod, the feline heads out the door.

Satoshi exits north.

Vailkrin City Road

Hemlock Way has broadened to become a wide City Road carrying locals, travelers and merchants through its bustling thoroughfare. The general air is one of cautious calm, probably due to staunch City Guard patrols being particularly present here, ensuring that visitors and locals alike can stroll the dimly-lit blackstone streets under the glow of streetlamps and the silvery moon relatively unmolested. To the north is a well-fitted shop, its sign suggesting supplies fit for necromancy and other dark magics. A short southern street leads to the entrance of Vailkrin's most stylish -and notorious- tavern.

Satoshi exits and immediately sets down an angry looking Aeron, note clamped in his teeth, and scoots him along with her boot. "Go bring that to Hamlet, lovey~." Messenger sent on his way, the feline is quick to return to Kasyr's side and reclaim the scarf.

Riss was staring to the sky for just a moment, maybe to admire the stars; no one could know, but with a shake of his head, he snapped out of the trance to turn and look back to Kasyr and Satoshi leaving the Corpse. Fingers toyed with the chain wrapped around Sebastian's hilt for just a moment before, in a flash, the Katana was drawn, chain rattling, unraveling in the sky like a thread caught in the breeze. It was, at that point, that Christian's stance had widened, legs stretched a notable amount from shoulder's width, and knees bent. His body nearly grew limp, lifeless as emerald eyes shut-- aside from his arms. One hand had moved to be in line with his heart, though extended with palm flat towards both Satoshi and Kasyr; his other arm began to come to life at this point. Suddenly, Sebastian was twirling above Christian's head, caused by sharp flicks of his wrist; something was going on, obviously, and it should have been damn noticeable when the blade practically started flickering in and out of reality. Crash. The chain-linked sword was forced through the City road, and around it, runes began carving themselves in a perfect circle around the three. "I told you two: be ready." With a flick of the bell at the end of Sebastian's chain, all motion stopped, seemingly stuck in a Temporal Rift. And then, they were gone into thin air, destination: Shesryn.
