RP:Saraluna's first meeting

Portal of Darkness
As you step through the area you can see a large wall, it ripples like the waves of time and reflects like a newly polished mirror. Curious you examine this massive body of energy, and with close inspection realize you can almost see through it. Placing your hand slowly on the glassy surface, your hand sinks in like it would through a pocket of water. Drawing your hand back, the thought of walking through crosses your mind. South lies the portal, while a path leads to the west as well, away from this area.

Summary: Saraluna's first encounter since awakening in this strange new world.

Saraluna had managed to wander herself into a -very- ominous area, not deterred by her surroundings, she continued until her gaze was caught by a mysterious mirror-like wall. She stopped, she could see a reflection of herself, showing off her long currently glittering hair, which was hanging almost dead, the area currently devoid of any wind whatsoever. On her left arm was a glowing object, it was a short bracer which emitted a faint whitish glow, her staff was the same, glowing, but not very brightly. What skin wasn't covered by her thin black cloak glittered very sparcely, akin to her hair. Luna approached the mirror curiously, planting her staff just outside it's reach, and slowly reaching out her free right-hand to touch it...

Arabella walked quietly along, her thoughts racing and clouding her mind from paying attention to her surroundings. In an attempt to calm her nerves, the young woman decided that she'd take a walk, and eventually, she found herself headed for the Hanging Corpse. As she drew closer to the portal, she realized that someone else was standing before it. Not that she was trying to be sneaky, but as her reflection came into focus behind the reflection of this other person, she couldn't help but feel as though she had been caught. Nervously, she smiled, and started to compare their features in the surface of the portal. While Arabella had pale skin, her's was no where close to the shade (or sparkle) of this other woman. Aside from the pale skin, the only other similar feature was the color of their eyes. Arabella's green eyes were observant, and she noticed the hesitant way that Saraluna's hand was reaching out. "Careful." The warning was friendly, and Arabella reached up to tuck some of her hair behind an ear. The wavy, red strands were rebellious, and quickly fell back into her face. Her hair was barely long enough to reach her shoulders. "That's a portal, you know. Let too much of it touch you, you'll be pulled right through." The nervous smile on her lips spread to become more of a grin. Arabella was thinking about her fist time discovering the portal.

Saraluna reluctantly pulled her hand back from the portal, she'd noticed the reflection of the other woman in the mirrored surface, but had thus far pretended not to notice. Heeding the warning Luna took a short step back from the portals surface, not truly interested in learning to whence it would lead this day. The girl closed her eyes for a moment before she turned to face her, Luna herself was pretty darned short, standing almost exactly 5', her staff(including the head) mimicing her height. She observed the other for a moment before speaking, bowing forward slightly in the process, "Many thanks miss for the warning," Luna's voice flowed forth softly, though not too quietly, somewhat graceful, but certainly not perfect, "I rather not learn where this leads until I have learned this place better first." Sara then reached up and fiddled a bit with her hair, it had managed to cover up her ears, which were akin to fox's, their fine fur was two-tone between lavender and silver, the silver streaks glittered along with her hair. Her eyes also emitted a very faint glow, which was not reflected in the mirror.

Arabella tilted her head to the side a little bit, studying the stranger before her. Animal like features of this sort had only been seen once before, and Arabella began to wonder if they might be related. Though, she'd never spoken to the man in the tavern that night, so there was no name to associate with him. "It's no problem." Arabella offered a small curtsey in return for the bow, holding the folds of her dress lightly in her hands for a brief moment while going through the motion. The dress she wore was of a modest cut, reaching down to her knees, and the sleeves covering her arms down to the elbow. While the folds of the skirt were black, the top half of her dress was white leather. The top of the dress continued up Arabella's neck, a collar of white leather held shut with three small buttons. "There is no harm in knowing where it leads," Arabella advised. "I'm not sure what the city is called, exactly. I found it by accident, myself. But people who live there call it the City of Vampires." A slight shrug of her shoulders follows her words, and the smile on her face fades a little. "It's not the type of place to wonder around." The ever observant eyes drift about Saraluna's frame more, taking in the details of her curious nature.

Saraluna turned halfway with her body, her head completely to look back into the portal, her expressionchanged only slightly to indicate her curiousity, "City of... vampires..." She paused, though only for a moment, "Vampires...?" She repeated, with more of a questioning tone then declarative now. Finally she turned back to the woman, her new stance revealed a small part of her clothing underneath the cloaks... umm... cloak... she was donning a somewhat tattered shirt, whose reach was from her collorbone to where her ribcage started to end, a bit lower was a very loose skirt which fell just past her knees, both items retained a dark-blue hue, perhaps appearing black in the shadows and at night. Still completely concealed was a small black purse at her side. She moved her staff again to shift positions, placing the base onto the ground and leaning into it lightly, now placing both hands onto it's shaft, "Vampires..." She repeated again, "What be they?" She finally asked.

Arabella quirks an eyebrow, a questioning look on her face. Was this girl serious? After a few seconds of consideration, Arabella decided that this girl was not joking. "What... is a vampire?" She began to chew on her lower lip, a nervous habit. How exactly did one define a vampire? "They are creatures which have died, only instead of staying dead, they come back to life. You know? And they live by drinking blood." Once the words are out of her mouth, Arabella frowns. "Well, that's the short story of a vampire. It's much more complicated than that."

Saraluna shifts slightly on her staff, taking in the information, creatures that have died, but came back to life... blood-drinkers...? "Drinking blood..." She looked down, contemplating it, "Doesn't sound so good..." Her voice trailed off, thoughts of somehow drawing blood out of a person and siphoning it into a cup disturbed her a bit, she was glad not to be one of them. Sara looked back up, returning her posture as though nothing had happened, simply leaning on her staff, now staring back at the woman. Only differnence in her appearences now was that a few clusters of her hair had fallen in front of her face when she had looked down, and stayed there, she left them alone as they were not bothering her in the least. She liked the red tint in the other womans hair, though it didn't seem as easy to keep tamed as her own, which was devoid of any curls or waves, perhaps partially due to it's length.

Arabella folded her arms over her chest. "You aren't from around here, are you?" It was the only logical explanation she could think of. Everyone around here knew of vampires, considering their decent population. Aside from that, the only other thing that might make sense would involve this other female being sheltered her whole life. "Where do you live?" Arabella's tone of voice is friendly, but strong. Having long ago noted the glow emitted by the fox featured girl, Arabella wondered what exactly was causing her to glow. Perhaps it had to do with where she came from.

Saraluna sighed, looking down for a moment, concentrating, but unable to recall anything, after a few long moments, she looked back up and shook her head, "I remember nothing..." Her voice didn't indicate any changes in emotion, not that there really were any, it bothered her only slightly that she had no memories of a past. She questioned if that indicated that she may not even have one to begin with? Unimportant, for now at least. Thus far she could only remember a few days, since she awoke several miles to the south of this place. She thought about it again, perhaps saying that she remembered nothing at all was a lie, she DID know about her connection to the moon, and about her magic, she knew a few things about herself in general, but no specifics...

Arabella listened with a puzzled look on her face. "You have amnesia?" Arabella shook her head ever so slightly, the strands of her hair moving with the motion. "That's a shame." She unfolded her arms, finally, from her chest and instead held them behind her back. She twisted her arms slightly, so that each of her hands was holding the elbow of the opposite arm. "Maybe one of the healers could fix it for you. There are healers in all the cities, I think. Kelay is closest." Shifting her feet slightly, Arabella finally looked down to the ground. A trouble expression came over her face, as if she is remembering something. "I met a lycan once. She was a healer, and I didn't know it until she fixed my shoulder. You have to ask around."

Saraluna pondered a bit yet again, healers... she could heal, well... kinda, it wasn't very effective for much, and only had it's use once night had fallen and her powers improved, but even then it wasn't a potent spell. Also on that note, there was no chance of it being able to effect something like her mind. "Healers..." She paused, "What be a healer?" She inquired, giving a decent pause to allow for a shocked reaction, but not long enough for a verbal responce, she reached out with her hand, waving off her words, "Just kidding." For the first time since her awakening, the girl smiled a bit, now shedding her cloak, revealing what remained of her clothing and the small black bag, which was a little more then big enough to contain her cloak once it was neatly folded up. Her foxkin tail was now easily evidenced, it was dangling freely, it's length passing her knees, though only by an inch. It contained lavender and silver streaks much akin to her ears, but the final little bit was strictly silver.

Arabella did, indeed, look shocked after the girl's words, but quickly offered a small chuckle upon learning it was a joke. Observing the tail was no surprise, though the colors were intriguing. Arabella had seen tails like that before, and had been expecting it's existence. The tattered appearance of her clothes, after the cloak was removed, caught Arabella off guard. "My name is Arabella." The introduction was long over due, and mentally, she scolded herself for taking so long to make the introduction. "Do you remember your name?" Her voice held a tone of hopefulness.

Saraluna looked up a bit, closing her eyes in the process. after a few seconds she turned her attention to her cloak, which she had accidentally allowed to fall to the ground around her. As she was gathering it up she responded, "Luna." She didn't look up or anything when she said that, she just finished quickly gathering her cloak before standing up, having laid her staff down on the ground. She began to fold the cloak quickly, not perfectly, folding the peices over without careing completely about getting all the corners aligned, or checking the creases, she repeated the process several times until she had managed to fold it into a small enough peice that it slipped nicely into her pouch, which was presently devoid of any other items, She finally knelt down to retrieve her staff...

Arabella thought the name Luna was fitting, given the color of her hair and the way she glowed. "Luna is a pretty name." She spoke while watching the cloak folding event, and refrained from saying anything else until Luna was done. "You should probably head to Kelay, Luna. If anyone is looking for you, they'll probably start there. It's a big town with lots of people passing through all the time. I imagine your family and friends are worried about you." Arabella was under the assumption that Luna was lost, due to her amnesia. "I can show you how to get there, if you like. It's not far." Her eyes flitted to the portal, for a moment. Originally, she had been intending to use it and she wondered if maybe her plans for the night were about to change.

Saraluna stood back up, holding her staff behind herself, angled head down, almost diagonally away from her, "Friends..." She looked away, "Family..." She closed her eyes, trying to ecall something. When it came down to it, she was left with the impression and feeling that she didn't have any here, she didn't really know what a friend was, as for family, she recalled absolutely nothing, perhaps a memory that could return with time. "If you desire such, lead the way..." Her voice trailed off a bit, uncertain as to how she felt about remembering nothing worhtwhile...

Arabella smiled and released her arms from where they had been behind her back. "Come along then, it won't take long." With a wave of her hand, Arabella would start to retrace her steps and head towards Kelay. "At the very least, you'll be able to get a hot meal. I'll leave you off at the tavern, but sadly, I can't stay." Arabella might look over her shoulder to make sure Luna was following, but otherwise, she would continue to walk at a brisk pace.
