RP:Raziel Meets Muraski

From HollowWiki

Background

Raziel left Kelay tavern, after meeting Sempter, and wandered throughout the lands a bit, until she decided upon taking a break within the Whaler's Bar for a bit. Soon after she enters the tavern, and sits down, Muraski enters and goes up to her, for he is looking for 'new talent'

New Talent

Raziel more or less strides into the bar, her black hooded robes flowing softly around her moderately tall form. Her darling raven sits upon her shoulder as she enters, with her walking cane held horizontally within her right gloved hand. Quietly the young elf girl makes her ways to a secluded table, her hood up and eyeless mask securely tied to her head. Without much care, the young girl sits down and throws her booted feet upon the table. Raziel, then, crosses her arms, the walking cane now being held vertically within the crook of her elbow. The raven remains upon her shoulder, looking over every patron of the bar carefully. Both remain rather quiet, however.

Muraski moved through the tavern, a look in his eye as he scouted for new talent this eve. Eyes looked between all the various folk within the room but most were just common Cenrilli folk.. Then, someone new, something different, a raven? Upon a woman who bore no face, now this was most definitely interesting. He moved towards the woman, a step before her, no eyes? No eyes at all. He continued to stare and inevitably, he took a seat. "You do have eyes? Yes?" A rather obvious statement but one he was most curious of, "Could you perhaps take off the mask? I can't evaluate your completely until you do."

Raziel blinks a few times, beneath her mask, a honey-sweet laugh tumbling lightly from her mouth. "Why of course I have eyes!" she says, smiling beneath her mask. The strange woman soon removes her booted feet from the table and leans toward Muraski a bit, saying with as little rudeness as she can "But, tell me, why do you wish to see my face and evaluate me?" she 'looked' directly at him, with that faceless, eyeless, black mask. Her faithful raven looking towards him as well. The reason for this question, is because she'd like to have a good reason to show her face to a stranger.

Muraski stared back at the woman, rather confounded by her. The exclaimed statement however brought upon a smile in which she couldn't see. "Do you?" She then asked her next question before he could pose anything further. "I'm curious. I actually would like to find myself good employees to work for me and I want something.. Unusual. As I see it, you're the largest spectacle besides myself in this place."

Raziel leans back a bit, a smirk forming upon her lips "That so? Well, that should only be expected when a 336 year old elf just appears out of nowhere." she says, emitting another laugh. "Hm. Very well. I don't know what I could do to help, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to show my face more often. She then leans her walking cane against the table and gently pulls down her hood, showing the purest white hair cut short and a bit jagged. The mask, itself, is being held in place by three black-silk ribbons all tied together. One on either side of her face, and one on top.. The young elf then holds the mask with one hand, and unties it with the other. Once this is done she simply places the mask upon the table in front of her. Though she is not a high elf, her features are far more beautiful than most elves could hope for. Her skin is smooth, and without any scars or imperfections. It is also like that of the palest porcelain, with a light rosiness just about where her cheek bones are. Her lips are the color of light roses, and they hold a gentle and kind smile upon them. Her face is shaped with a bit of a pointed chin, though her face isn't exactly heart shaped... However, and quite possibly to Muraski's amusement, there would be a soft white blindfold tied over her eyes. She laughs a little, and simply says, "I certainly hope you weren't intending to –see- my eyes."

Muraski sighed at the female, "I was truly hoping to see the eyes as well but I am confused, why must you cover your eyes like..." A thought occurred, "Blind?" His brow raised ever so slightly, a finger poked in her direction but always kept just out of reach. He'd run it up and down the length of her face, just to see if she ever noticed.

Raziel smirks "Correct." she says, just then the raven lets out a caw and Raziel's hand shoots out to grab Muraski's finger, lightly, with her index finger and thumb of her right hand. "But it bothers me not. If you were really hoping to see my eyes I could show you. They... Are not like that of normal blind eyes." she says, with her smirk being maintained. A small chuckle would, also, escape her lips at the thought of his reaction to her blindness.

Muraski had the reactions of a thief and when she moved to grip his finger, he quickly pulled back which made him question his thoughts.. "So, you're blind then how did you find my finger so quick?" He finally gave another nod, "Do take off your blindfold, if you wouldn't mind miss?" A quick eyeball would turn to the bird, "And you, do be quiet while I talk with the girl."

Speechless

Raziel laughs and speaks simply, as she works to untie her blindfold "Well, if I told you my secret then that would be little fun... Oh, and my brother, Kraar," she says, jerking a thumb to the raven "only takes orders from me, I'm afraid. I can understand his words, after all." soon the blindfold is pulled off and set beside the mask, her eyes being closed as she does so. Upon opening her eyes it would be quite noticeable why they were kept covered. No irises. No pupils. Nothing but two white orbs, staring down at the table. "I hope you understand why I keep my eyes covered, sir." she says, her lips pursed a bit. "I am, quite honestly, an oddity from birth... That and I was raised by wolves," at that she shrugs "But that is another story." she continues to look down at the table, towards her mask, though she sees absolutely nothing but darkness.

Muraski could not help but stare at the oddity before him, entirely white orbs, nothing inside, nothing but one of the most intriguing spectacles he had ever seen before. He leaned in really close to stare upon the eyes with as much interest as one could, "I see." He continued to stare, speechless, utterly speechless for several long moments. "What is your name odd one? And what do you do?"

Raziel can sense Muraski staring at her eyes with much interest, and looks up from the table to make it easier for him to see. "Names Glitch." she says, simply. No, it wasn't her real name, but it was a name that she gave herself for the reason of her eyes. "As for what I do... Hm... I suppose I'm a bard... And I am handy with twin daggers," at this she whips out one of her twin daggers, a drow dagger at that. It is a bit old and rusted up, but it still appears functional. She does hold it in a threatening way, of course. "I can move through the most dense of forests swiftly, without making a sound..." and then a bit of a chuckle comes forth "And I'm a wondrous actress." she says, pointing to the cane. "See, I don't actually need that. But it is good to use for when I need to act like a usual blind... Not sure if any of these things would help you, sir. But that's about all I can do." she says, soon leaning back against her chair, once more, as she puts the dagger away.

Muraski listened to the information she began to speak, names, talents, the rest were all memorized as she continued on but yet he continued on with his fascination of her eyes. "I see, I see. And, what kind of bard music do you play?" His mouth spoke words, his eyes betrayed them, for while he was interested in that, nothing seemed to intrigue him more than the eyes she possessed. "Have you ever thought about glass eyes? They'd look more realistic, I'd suppose. Though, yours.. Yours about the most interesting eyeballs I have ever come across."

Raziel ignores Muraski's question of her music and cocks her head, just slightly, "Glass eyes? Hm. Never heard of them. But I believe I am well off with my own eyes." she turns her head towards Kraar, the bird looking at her and letting out a few clicking noises and caws. She laughs softly and nods to the bird "Yes, that's what I thought, Kraar." she had forgot to mention her ability to speak to animals, and understand their words. She then turns her head back to Muraski and says with a smile, now hitting upon the question he presented earlier "Ah, and I generally sing for my bard music. I can heal minor wounds, bring dying plants to life, make a 'beast' fall asleep, and many more things I'm sure that I don't even know about." she explains each thing, as though they were very minute things to be worrying about.

Muraski sighed at the woman's words about how she refused to get glass eyeballs. A complete shame really, her eyes would be great for studying.. Ever so unique. He turned towards the bird once more, finally broken away from the eyes, then gave it a dismissive wave and sat back on his chair. "You sing for your magic then? What about entertainment? Parties? And, how good is your singing? Along with that, what kind of songs might you sing? Do you dress up nicely? An attractive look is always needed from a female singer otherwise they'll find themselves rather useless, men won't be as entertained and women won't envy them as well." He sat back in his chair, it was really too bad, those eyes were so nice.

Raziel opens her eyes a little wide at his bombardment of questions and then giggles, a bit. "Yes, I suppose I could sing for entertainment... Hm. But I'm not entirely sure how well anyone thinks my singing is. I sing many different songs, as well... And I suppose I could dress up nicely if it weren't for some scars caused by a bloody..." she pauses at that. Even though her eyes are blind, they seem to retract to a memory, but she soon shakes her head, never going down that road. "Er. Well, in any case. I have too many scars for that." she says, pulling back her left sleeve, Her arm is riddled with a few small scars and one jagged and long one that goes down the length of her arm, and stopping a few inches before her wrist. "So, you see, I couldn't possibly wear anything nice." the woman soon puts her sleeve back over her arm.

Muraski looked upon the arm and dismissed it, "If I could hide those scars, would you dress up nice?" He tilted his head slightly for a moment, "How do you dress while blind?" His own hands were smashed, he couldn't actually dress himself but this woman, she was blind and she managed to do it anyways. "Anyways, sing for me? We can leave the tavern if you're shy but I'm going to need a display of your talents."

Raziel laughs at his question, after all, she had been this way for well over 300 years. She was quite used to blindness. Then she nods "Very well then." she did appear a bit nervous, but the moment she begins to sing it is like the voice of an angel, to put simply. She is singing a song in the elven language; her voice hitting each note perfectly, and with simple beauty. It would be clear that she must sing nearly every day, for her singing voice sounds well practiced. She only sings one short verse however. Raziel then releases a soft breath once she's finished up her short song. "Hmm." she thinks to herself for a second "I hope you didn't mind that song being in elven... As it happens, it was the only song I could think of."

Muraski stared at the woman as she began to sing, a smile to welcome her words as they were sung with great beauty. "Very good.. Very good indeed." He continued to relax, allow himself at ease until suddenly she stopped. "I think you'll make a fine singer, should I be in need of your talents." A final shake of the head was made, "Beauty exists regardless the race, true I'm not a fan of pointy eared creations, no offense meant to you miss but it's simply because humans like myself find things simpler then rituals and all that. Anyways, do you think you could do anything else? You said you could traverse a jungle in complete silence?"

Raziel smiles at Muraski's words, happy that he found her singing to be good. True enough, she didn't even mind him saying what he did about elves. In fact, she laughed! "I find no offense in your opinion, sir. I feel little pull towards my own race, as well. But, then again, I was not raised by elves. And, indeed, I have learned to move in utter silence, no matter what my movement or speed is, nor what the surroundings are. It is a fabulous thing, really." she says, as she reaches for her blindfold, it seemed as though she was planning on covering up her intriguing opticals.

Miss Glitch

Muraski reached to stop her hand as she moved to grab it, "Don't replace it please. I rather enjoy the look of a person's face. Hiding is meant for fools, you should never hide who you are." His broken hand, if touched to intercept hers would indeed sting though but he'd ignore the pain. "Anyways, if I gave you a package to deliver, you could move it to somewhere else without a worry in the world?"

Raziel pauses her hand, as his intercepts hers. She smiles and first says "Then a fool I must be, sir, for I have heard from all the creatures of the drow being out to kill elves... Foolish as that may be, for they are our cousin race, from what I've learned." she then thinks about his question "Yes, I believe I could do that well enough." she says with a nod of her head. "I've kept myself hidden for over 300 years, delivering something would be easy from what I judge... I'd imagine if you need my services you could send me a note. Kraar reads them for me." she says, as though a raven reading for someone was normal.

Muraski shook his head at the female, no no that just wouldn't do. "How about this instead miss Glitch. If I need to contact you, you will receive a letter. On that letter will be a special mark, that mark will have a certain feel to it. When you recognize this, you'll know I wish to speak with you once more." His chin was rubbed, "Does this sound like a better idea to you, miss? I'd prefer to speak with you, not the bird." As for the first part of her words, he shrugs after such a long speech, "If a drow is out to kill you, you're under my employ and you will seek out me. I'll not be having one of my employees under attack." He grinned, "And, I think I know what the feel of it will be. I'll engrave a silver, copper, and gold coin into a piece of paper. How does that sound? Three separate spots. I believe it'll make it easy enough for you to recognize. But, don't hide your face, it's rather pretty." Though, she wouldn't know.

Raziel looks thoughtful about this proposition and nods. "Yes, I think that will work out just fine." Kraar poofs up a bit, however. But, before he can let out a few caws against the idea, Raziel lightly holds his black beak shut. "And, I suppose, that I won't have my face covered. Though it will be something odd to get used to." she agrees with a little sigh. Once she releases the birds beak she then takes her mask and blindfold, placing it into her satchel. "And, no worries, I promise that I'll do my best and not disappoint you in any jobs you give me... Ah." she lets out a soft chuckle "You, sir, did not give me your name." she says, facing back towards him, with a kind smile.

Muraski blinked at the female as she moved to put the mask into her bag, "May I see the wooden one before you put it away? I'm just curious." He even gave her a little smile, "And, thank you, you trust me to easily but I appreciate your willingness to listen." His head shook against her words, a habit that most were into but he continued to forget that she was blind. "Even if you were to fail, I'd not be disappointed. You would have to betray me for me to become disappointed. So, as long as you have no ideas about stabbing me in the back, I will have no need to face disappoint.. Although, I do expect a bit of common sense from my employees too." As she inquired for him name, he blinked, "Oh.. I believe you're correct. Forgive me if I do not shake your hand for the time being but it currently lacks itself being in good shape. The bones being broken, it makes it rather hard to shake. As for my name, you may call me Mur Ahz Key, Les koh vac." The words pronounced slowly for her to get it just right.

Raziel looks in his direction with her eyes, in a bit of surprise. "Your hands are broken? ... Mur Ahz Key..." she says slowly, and nods "Well, Muraski, I could heal them a bit for you... But I suppose you wouldn't want that," she says, with a smile, as she hands the black mask to her employer. "Oh, and I'd have no wish to stab you in the back, in either form." she says, with a smile. "And, perhaps I do put too much trust in you, but I have little to lose as is."

Muraski refrained from a nod he felt he needed to make, "Yes, they are broken. And correct, that is how you pronounce it." He smiled, "I'm interested in your talents.. I'm in fact an absolute hater of magic but I'm interested in seeing your talents." He placed his hands onto hers after she placed the mask in front of him. "And, I would certainly hope not, as it would most likely not go well for either of ours health." Then the last line was made... "Is your life a little loss?"

Raziel seems to think for a moment, at Muraski's question. "Mmmm. I tend to think so. My true family abandoned me, for they were proud and despised my eyes... Then I was taken in by a wolf pack and lived with this pack a good portion of my life, until an orc destroyed them all. I believe that I have little more than my life and Kraar's. And I even believe Kraar's life is more important than my own." she then ceases her words her faces his hands "Hmm. I can't fix them completely. But they should become set a bit better, and mend swiftly." she says, with a nod. Soon she hums a soft, though beautiful song. Every intricate round of notes she moves through seems to moves a bone or two back into place; a click or a pop would be heard, but there would be little pain. After a few minutes much of the pain in his hands would have waned. The smaller breaks fixed, though the bigger ones would need time to heal on their own. When her song subsides she then speaks. "There we are. I hope they feel a bit better. I could only fix the little damages, but your bones are set and should heal far better than before." she says, like a doctor, with a smile. "Just don't over-use them until they're better."

Muraski blinked as his bones had moved back towards the original positions in which they once sat with little or no pain to him. A sense of ease washed over him as his fingers could wriggle ever so slightly, "I appreciate it and you'll have your uses I think. Most certainly." He once again however looked disappointed, "Unfortunately I must disagree, the bird to me is invaluable, you however are very valuable. You have uses and I could use you in many different ways."

Raziel smiles, happy that he accepted her help with his broken hands. And then she shakes her head with a knowing smirk upon her lips "Oh, I believe you'd think otherwise of that statement. Kraar is my eyes, when eyes are needed. He allows me to know where a target is, and I must put my full trust in him for many different things, daily. And I am quite glad to know you find me useful. I shall not fail you." she says with a bow of her head. She then points towards the her mask "Ah, and I do believe you were inspecting my mask."

Muraski began to think of the female's words, "Could you not find your own targets? Being a bard and such? You could allow yourself to emit a low sound which no one could hear yes? Then you could find where everything is based upon this sound, one might think." He shrugged, what'd he know. "Oh right, the mask.." His fingers traced over it but refrained from any kind of grip to cause him pain. "Interesting... No eyes, little marks.. Just something to cover your face. Why one would want to hide such an intriguing spectacle though, is beyond me."

Raziel smiles at his questions "I do, actually, use such a technique. But Kraar is special to me. The scars that riddle my body were caused by the same orc that destroyed my wolf family. A man had saved me from the orc, and tended to my wounds. Before I left he taught me how to speak common tongue, and many other things. And then he gave me Kraar, so that I'd always have someone to keep me company. He's special, you see, for he can only die when I die." she then thinks of her smooth wooden mask "Ah, that is only one of my masks. That is the mask I call my 'Shadow Mask'." after she speaks that she reaches into her satchel and pulls for a white mask. No eyes upon this one either, however there is red markings making a face with red lips, red eye shadow, but nothing painted where her eyes would be. Likewise, there is a gray-blue crescent moon shaped stone upon the center of this masks forehead, and a poisonous purple diamond-shaped crystal within the crescent moon. There ribbons upon this one are white and red. "This mask is one I've never worn. The man made this for me, and called it a masquerade mask. But I've never had the use for it." she says, sliding it towards Muraski.

Muraski pushed the masquerade mask back towards the female, the other to follow suit. "Thank you for showing me then. I was just curious about the masks." He paused for a moment to remember what she said, "You were attacked by an orc you say? Along with a bird who can not die?" He found these things hard to believe. "Interesting.. And raised by wolves.." He was definitely intrigued. "I'm glad you can speak the common tongue otherwise communication would be a rather impossible thing to achieve." He continued to think, "Let me see your scars once more please?" If she did, his one hand would go underneath her arm, while the hand would move a finger across the scars to feel them, investigate them.

Raziel nods, and pulls up her left sleeve, the arm with the worst scars. She, truly, had scars all over her arms, legs, stomach, and back. But she figured he just needed to see the arm with the largest scar. "Yes, all those things are true as I've said. I understand how far fetched they may seem." As she holds out her left arm, her right hand collects her masks, and carefully stuffs them into her satchel.

Muraski studied them with great interest, "Painful, very painful. And how you managed to collect such an array is beyond impressive. Though, I'm sure extremely painful." He sighed once again, "I'd ask you to strip so I could see all of them but I fear that would be rather crude thing to say. What I need to know however, is, if I put you in a dress that covered from your shoulders to your legs and had you wear something to cover your arms, would you have scars showing?"

Raziel thinks about that for a moment, and blinks once. "Actually, I don't think there'd be much problem. The orc missed a fair amount... Hm. Actually, I wear a tube top under this." she says with a nod. and then, carefully takes off her robe, Kraar quickly jumping from her and landing upon the table. Beneath her robes, she is almost dressed like a thief. A tube top, and leather pants, plus her heeled boots. Her legs are not showing, but from what can be seen of her arms, stomach, and back there are a decent few scars that are just barely in proper place of being able to be covered. The only scar that would have difficulties of being covered is a slanted one that spread a great deal over the whole of her back.

Muraski looked upon the female once more with interest, he seemed to do that a lot these days, as she was nearer to a bare form. "You seem to have a great deal of them, Glitch. Here's what I am thinking.. I believe, I can cover all of them but perhaps, perhaps we could get some of them to be removed? Unless of course you have a problem with that?" He then moved around to her back to look upon the large scar on her back, a quick trace of it to begin, as a finger would go down the back of it all, regardless what she said. "This one will limit what you can wear but I believe, we can make this doable. Do you have a problem with large dresses? Ones that are rather well.. Poofy."

Raziel would have a bit of a confused look upon her face, for a split second. "Huh. Didn't know scars could be removed... Hm, a poofy dress? I've worn very few dresses throughout my life, I'm not so sure of how well I'd do in a poofy dress. But, I suppose I could try." she says, quite simply.

Muraski nodded at the female, "Yes, scars can be removed. It takes a good healer or time but scars can be removed. As for the dress, I think it'd be the best way to hide all scars I might be able to think of, unless you can think of one better? No offense meant to you but men find scars rather distasteful and would not find your looks so pleasing."

Raziel nods to him. "Very well then. I think either would be fine, actually." she says with a simple smile. She didn't want to displease her new boss, after all.

Muraski laid his head down upon the table, "You do know you're able to disagree with me and argue? No offense Glitch, but you make taking advantage of you all but to simple. Were I not me, you'd of already been used for all of your value and tossed aside."

Raziel laughs a bit at that statement. "Oh, dear! Muraski, I'm not letting you take advantage of me. I promise you that, if I truly had a problem with any of this, you would know." soon she shrugs into her robes, once more, and lets out a quick whistle, calling Kraar back to her shoulder. The elf then goes to grab her walking cane and says, after a small yawn "Well, this has been a lovely conversation Muraski. But, I'm afraid, I should be getting some rest. You don't want a tired new employee, correct?" she smiles to him, and gives him a little bow "I'll try and stay in one spot more often so that any courier you have doesn't have to search so hard. Farewell, Boss." she says with a smile, but waits for a response before she would make to leave.

Muraski stood from his place upon the table and turned to face the door, "It has been lovely Miss Raziel. I appreciate your help and assistance you plan to offer. " He paused for but a moment, "Although, I never did state I'd use you Glitch, I merely said you would get used should you not be careful." He nodded though in the end, "I already have a tired employee who is much of a bother, silly woman refuses to ever rest but I have finally gotten her to take sleep at my place. Anyways Miss Glitch, be well till we meet again. And, feel free to stop by my shop at any time." He paused, "If you'd like, I can direct you to there from here before you go so you might find your way back?" With her answer, Muraski would go to take his leave.

Raziel shook her head. "No, I believe I shall find it just fine on my own, thank you though." After Muraski takes his leave, Raziel soon follows. However, the moment she would be getting away from where Muraski was she'd still throw her hood over her head. Old habits die hard, after all. She'd then head back towards Kelay, to find a spot to rest.
