RP:Questioning a Clan

From HollowWiki

Sayban entered the tavern and headed straight to the board. She mumbled the name Gisiae En Adon aloud, then turned and moved to her spot by the door.

Kyros looking up from his drink, heard the name of his clan whispered under a stranger's breath, and his head lifted. His eyes turned to her, taking her in. His mouth turned up in a vague smile. "Ah, the infamous clan," he said, turning to Sayban a bit more in his seat. "You've noticed the ad, I see. Come," he motioned to the seat next to him, his shoulders turning so that he may better face the bar. "Have a seat, and introduce yourself."

Syaban takes a few short steps away from her spot by the door, to see what this man had to say, about the very thing that peeked her curiosity. Grey eyes full of light and warmth settle on the man who has kindly asked her to join him. “Sayban Silkfeather. What is it that you know about this organization? Or can you answer some of my questions I have about it?” Light pink lips curled into a smile as she dusted the seat off next to the man, before taking a seat. She had to be careful so as not to bump anyone with her rather large feathered wings.

Kyros nods once, a slight incline of his head that makes black bangs fall into his eyes before he shakes them back. "Good afternoon, Sayban," he says with a vague smile, and he takes in her form and the large curve of her wings before looking back to her face. "My name is Kyros Atheoso, one of the recruitment officers of the clan you inquire about, promoted as of today. I am also the clan's chief trainer, and I would be glad to answer any questions you may have." His eyes turn to the glass on the bar, half-full, and he nods to Mesthak to have it topped off.

Sayban crosses a leg over the other while holding her silk dress to keep it from rising. “Well, I have many questions and I hope you can answer most of them, if not all.” Her voice is soft, like she still has an innocence about her. “First things first, the name Gisiae En Adon, what does that name mean?” She had just pulled a little leather bound book from a bag and a stick of coal, which was wrapped in black leather, to take a few notes.

Kyros watches with piqued curiosity as the woman retrieves her book, and he laughs under his breath, perhaps nervous, or maybe surprised. "The name means Guardians of Peace, which is an accurate description of our members and our clan's mission. Peace, in the sense of balance, is fundamental for the co-existance of species and races. Our clan strives to maintain this balance. We are, however, aligned neutrally. We may not always believe that what is considered 'good' is in the favor of peace. Likewise, if you often consider what is evil to be more peaceful, we may not support the idea one hundred percent of the time, either. Our members are of all sorts, but primarily of a neutral mindset." He finishes with a clearing of his throat and helps himself to another drink of the full glass of whiskey. "And what is that book for, if I may ask? Clan research?" he guesses.

Sayban nods her head, but his question is one that made her roll her eyes some, “If the clan is publicly advertising and recruiting people, I would like to take a few notes so that I can really decide if this is something that I want to do.” Writing something down, she starts to speak again, asking another question. “If you are the chief trainer and recruiting officer, who then are the leaders or leader if there isn't more than one? I ask this because I might want to talk to them in person, to further my choice in joining.” She looked back at him, the tips of her pointed ears twitching to the many different conversations this Tavern holds.

Kyros nods at this. "Aye. Fully understandable," he turns to look at her. "A fair choice, though the reason for our public recruitment as of late is a tactic to find good warriors. As a clan of peace, we may not attract those who are intricately trained in the way of battle, thus making my primary position in the clan as trainer, a bit more difficult." He shrugs a shoulder. "I am, too, one of the leaders of the clan, ma'am. If you'd wish to verify any of the information I provide you with, Deavanor is a leader, too, as well as co-owner. Our other co-owner, Sabine, is around quite sparingly, for her grandson recently had a bounty put on his head, and she must care for him. You understand." He sighs through his nose and watches her, his brown eyes light and seemingly warm. "I am, however, one of the appointed leaders of the clan."

Sayban writes down a few more things, “Aye, I do. I also understand that those are matters that are not of concern to be as of yet so we will move on. Deavanor, I hope will be around in the next few days for me to talk to. I don't want this to be something I will regret later. As for this Sabine, family issues are important, but I will think about sending her word and see what she has to say.” She flicks a strand of snow white hair out of her face, that same warm smile still on her lips. “I am no fighter. I'm a druid, a storm druid to be, if you please, if I decide to be apart of this clan, this family, what use would I be to this clan, and are you, the chief trainer, capable of teaching me in the arts of water and air?”

Kyros watches her writing briefly, then glances back to her face. "Deavanor is around very frequently, and I have no doubt you will find time to speak with him. A good idea, too, as he has been a part of this clan much, much longer than myself," he tells her. He thinks, briefly, on her next question, and a look that is perhaps akin to interest crosses his face. "You know, it is quite something to be in control of the very element of the storm. You must be unique, or one of few," he smiles. "I can train you in controlling your magic. I can teach you the ways of expanding upon it, with practice, and I can provide for you an admittedly new-found training course that, I think, based on your stated abilities, will be much to your liking. I cannot myself perform magic, but I study it. In fact, our primary recruiting officer, Tanya, has an attack that I find quite interesting, involving the clouds and lightning, and I am certain she'd be willing to run a few rounds with you to help you hone your skills under my supervision, were you to join our ranks. As for your use… I assure you, every member has a use, and if you are truly skilled at your elemental craft, you will be the first of your kind in our clan, and quite invaluable in battle. Together, you and Tanya could be quite brilliant, I think. She helped to train me against magics for some time, and I assure you that she knows what she's doing." He tilts his head. "Perhaps, though, you could demonstrate your abilities to me. As I said, we are looking for warriors. Strong fighters with the potential to become more. I'd very much like to see what it is you're capable of doing now, without clan training."

Sayban sighs and lets the charcoal rest on the book. “I said it before and I will say it again, I am no fighter. I do not want to be trained in the art of fighting and battle. That is not me and not my ways. Also note that clouds are not just water. It is water vapor mixed with dirt and I have no control over the earth and its elements. My powers and abilities lie in making storms stronger, feeding them power so that the land, the plants and animals benefit it from it.” The woman doesn't order a single drink or anything to nibble on. The very look of this avian gives most the impression of good of light in the flesh. “I am not asking about this clan and to join it to help fight when the need arises. I am asking so I can help in other areas. If the time for battle was to happen, I would not be there to see it or hear it.” She makes more notes, “I cannot do anything if there is no storm. I can't create one. No one can unless they were a god or goddess. I also seek the help of masters of water and air, and if I was to find them outside the clan, I would go to them to learn and become stronger myself. So far, this clan is not appealing to me, but I will meet with this Deavanor before I make a choice.”

Kyros raises an eyebrow at her words and laughs. “I apologize, then, because as a warrior myself, I tend to be very battle-oriented. That is not the only focus of this clan.” He shakes his head and, not attending to his drink anymore, turns to face the woman more fully. “I perhaps come off as a bit of a fighter, because that’s what I am, but I do hope it won’t sway your desire to join the clan for my poor focus. We do, in fact, have many places for non-warriors. In fact…” he looks thoughtful. “We probably have a greater need for people who are willing to stand on the sidelines and assist in other ways. A need for battle has not come up in some time, and should it come up in the near future, it is not the way of Gisiae En Adon to ask anyone to fight who wishes not to. Your personal abilities and ways will be honored, despite my own personal gravitation towards battle.” The man smiles, and his cheeks cave into small dimples when he does, though the boyish appearance only lasts as long as his smile. “Our headquarters,” he says slowly, “lies right outside the Elven Forest, and I know that they, as others, have been suffering drought. I also know that Enchantment has recently been destroyed, and they need help rebuilding. My sprite is there almost all day, helping them rebuild. Perhaps something like this would be more suited to you?”

Sayban listens and makes note of all of this as well, “Apologies not needed. Enchantment is the Pixie Queens area and I would have to talk to her, unless you have permission from her to help her homeland . You also have to understand that I am not going to join right away. I just need to know a bit more about it before I make a final decision. Which reminds me, I hate the drama that these kinds of organizations bring. What is the level of drama in this Guardians of Peace?” She tilts her head to the side as she awaits her answer, keeping what he said about Enchantment in mind.

Kyros shrugs at this, “I don’t personally think that the Pixie Queen needs to give her express permission for assisting her land and its people. I surely wouldn’t seek to only allow help from approved persons if a land under my rule had been brutally attacked. I would accept any help I could get,” he speaks, and his eyebrows furrow some. “Within the clan, there is no drama that I am aware of. There was the cause of a rift between mother and daughter. Sabine, our clan’s owner, and Tanya, her daughter, when the child Xander’s father put a bounty on his head, were both highly distressed. I went after the man who sought to kill his own child, and the problem has been resolved.” The man’s shoulders shrug up. “Internally, the clan has no drama. If external forces seek to harm, we band together. That’s just our way. I have heard of other clans fighting amongst each other for power and dominance. There is no such fight involving our Gisiae En Adon.”

Syaban nods her head as her nostrils flare a bit. “That is family issues between the blood, which is something I will not get involved in. That is something that has to be understood. I am not coming to help resolve blood family issues. I am coming to benefit a clan, to promote peace and spread it all over this world and through out the lands.” “I will go and check out the damage done to Enchantment and will asess it and see if I can do anything to help. They may be in a drought, but I cannot help that, unless a storm comes through.” She uncrosses her legs and streatches her wings some, “Well, I have run out of questions, at least for tonight. I may think of others while preparing to speak with others of the clan. If you have questions for me, please ask now.”

Kyros regards her in kind. “If a storm comes through, yes,” he smiles. His eyes scan over her wings as they stretch, and he seems to turn back to his whiskey with an air of exuberance, as if he’d forgotten the drink was there. He downs a couple of mouthfuls. “I have no questions for you, but I do hope you consider joining our clan… I rather think we need smart , equipped recruits, and I see yourself as such.” He nods to her politely. “And if you need to get in touch with me for anything else, please do. I rather wouldn’t mind speaking to you about matters outside of the clan, either,” he adds.

Sayban grins and stands, offering a slight bow to the man. Her movements are smooth and flow as she goes. "I will then turn in for the night and think long and hard on all of this. Just let the others know that I will be seaking them out and they should find me if they want to impress me." She waves to him and exits the Tavern without a glance back.

Kyros cannot help but laugh before she leaves. "Oh, I don't think your joining our clan is about us impressing you, so much as you impressing us," he scoffs as he turns to his whiskey once more, shaking his head to himself.
