RP:Meeting A Little Fellow

From HollowWiki

Synopsis Joan is making a quick trip through Kelay and on her way through she comes upon and meets a cute little 'dragon frog' by the name of Nemo, she takes time to stop to introduce herself, and they have a small quick chat.

Kelay Town Square

Nemo wandered the confines of Kelay with an imperious attitude befitting a being of stature and regality. At nearly a foot tall, the soccer ball disguised as a sapient being waddled down the town square taking in the sights, and occasionally, roasting a bug with an exhaled cloud of lightning, like a boss. He munched on fat bugs and observed his domain from atop a barrel of peanuts. His undersized wings flapped on his back, and he basked in the adoration of a world in dire need of one so majestic as he. "Crooooaaaaak!" Truly, the music of the gods.

Joan didn't seem to loom where she was walking as the vampiric healer made her way down the well-worn dirt path of the town proper, taking in the sights as she was making a quick trip out to the Barkey close by to stock up on her normal order of tea and cookies, she'd draw up close when she took notice of the little fellow, offering Nemo a friendly smile. "Hello, little creature."

Nemo paused, settling big, alien pink eyes on the stranger. They blinked sideways, with crosses for pupils, with a strangely pocked appearance in the outer rings of the iris. He reared up before her, inflating just a smidge, before letting out a tremendous and powerful bellow. *Squeak!* Awe inspiring. Intimidating. Why, he wouldn't be surprised if she cowered before his awesome might.

Joan step back as she threw up her hands in a 'oh nuu' gesture as her friendly smile spread to a full-on fanged grin. "Oh my...excuse me, mighty sir!" She'd chuckle lightly soon after as she looked over the small creature. Adorable to say the least.

Nemo swelled with pride and much hot air. He stepped forward, and tumbled off the barrel, squeaking in deranged anger. Apparently, he was quite insulted that there was nothing to catch his step but empty air. The world was far too unkind to some. He corrected himself and would use his adhesive toe beans and flappy wings to scramble back up the barrel, getting back to being reasonably close to eye height with her. He made a warbling noise, almost like he was... clearing his throat. "GREETINGS, NOBLE LADY!" Well, apparently, he was doing just that. His words were well enunciated, if a bit... squeaky. "Doth thou seeketh mine great and illustrious quests?! Far and wide amongst the lands is known of the priceless and infinite horde of the mighty dragon frog! Dare ye attempt to lay hands upon this spackled fortune?!"

Joan slapped her icy pale hands against her cheeks as the small lizard-like creature took that falling tumble, only to let out a gasp of marvel as he caught himself in mid-fall and then righten himself in midflight. Blinking as he settled back on the barrel and then sit up then...surprise of all surprises speaks aloud the undead woman would let out a delighted laugh as she offered a shake of her head. "Why gods above and below no good sir that is if you are a sir...if I am wrong then madam. I just stopped to admire you is all."

Nemo blinked, staring wall-eyed at Joan a moment. Did she... not care about the treasure? "There, uhm, there's a whole... ya know... gold and stuff." He leaned off to the right, looking down at the water-worn old 'treasure chest' filled with painted rocks, that were, hilariously, spackled. Possibly a slip of the tongue in his little con. "Well, good lady! Know that errr, dragon frogs are the most magical and mystical of all the frogs and the dragoness! Should you, er, ahem... kiss one..." He started giggling there, blushing a deep red, unable to continue on account of his idiotic barely stifled laughter. It seemed this dragon frog was quite smitten with the pretty lady.

Joan gazed down at the little chest near the dragon frog, one amethyst-colored brow arched as she bent down slightly, icy pale hands resting along her leather-clad knees as she seems to take interest in the tiny creature. "Oh no good sir, I have no need for treasure, for meeting one such as yourself is reward enough." She said before lightly kissing at one fingertip and then pressing it down upon Nemo's small head. "A kiss was given freely to show my gratitude."

Nemo was blown away, yet again. What a precious creature. The little finger kiss, the innocence. She didn't even know it wasn't a real treasure! "Truly, I suppose that the real treasure was the friends we made along the way." Nemo shed a manly, manly tear. He'd forgotten what the con was and was just burbling happily like a wall-eyed frog idgit, while watching the pretty lady. Soon, it would be time for that hawk's promised act of avian violence, however, and he needed to be ready to fight that deadly foe. As such, he fetched his bucket helmet... which was a bucket. It did make him look more armored, he thought. Bucket beats bird, after all. "Pardon, ma'am." An idea came to him. "Have you any nets about your person, the kind that could, theoretically, catch a hawk, perhaps?"

Joan stood completely upright now as she thought for a moment or two, at the sight of the little creature getting out that tiny bucket she would offer a chuckle once again before reaching down into her portable satchel and pull out a rather fancy little shiny black top hat. This she would place on top of the barrel next to her new little friend. "I just might have, in the meantime as I look, here have that hat, it would seem to fit you better than me, yeah?!" She said while now searching for one of her smaller size fishing nets she used to catch small trout with. She would offer and present the small fishing net to the fellow...did he manage to give her his name yet?! Nope didn't seem like it.

Nemo looked at the top hat. Oh. Oh, wow. It was a fancy, fancy sort of hat. Far better than his admittedly rustic, if practical, helmet. It didn't even have a visor... it couldn't compete with the likes of a fancy top hat! He turned practically green with envy. But she was offering it to him... alongside a net?! It was small, but it was 'catch a hawk's talons' small. Perfect. He swelled with pride. "You have done well to complete your quest so quickly and skillfully! Name your wish, young hero!"

Joan chuckled again, oh the cheek on this little creature, "How about your name as well as your friendship? I have no need for much else."

Nemo raised one of his froggy eyebrows, his bulging eye traveling a little too high with it. "Mhmm. Of course, silly me, a thousand pardons. My name... is..." He swelled with pride, ready to unleash his majestic name upon the world. "Nemo." It was a bit anticlimactic after all that puffing and posturing.

Joan smiles as she offers out her index finger to Nemo as a way to show she is offering a finger/handshake to the little dragon frog. "Well Nemo, it's been a pleasure meeting you, I need to get going but I do hope to meet you again. My name is Joan and I do hope for your good fortune in your upcoming battle with the hawk."

Nemo watches that hand, and responds by sticking out his stubby little forearm, to tap his slimy paw to her finger. "Pleasure is all mine, Miss Joan! Pleasure is all mine! I wouldn't want to be the boor keeping such a fine lady as yourself!" He'd shuffle off the bucket, and put on the top hat, feeling quite... fancy. "Oh. Oh, my. Oh, yes. That'll do." His voice became three stages more regal.
