RP:Making the ladder

Jefri the Frostgiant takes two long straight treetrunks and skillfully uses his axe to remove the bark from them. He then begins to saw a third tree trunk into lengths appropriate for the rungs of the ladder. Once the wood is free from bark, and cut to the desired lengths, Pacharian, the elven fire mage begins the arcane incantations to magically season the timber. Sophie meanwhile appears to be talking to a large potted plant. It is a variety of vine native to the mysterious jungles of Selen island. If this particular flora could speak, it would most likely be complaining bitterly about the cold environs to which it has been transported. Although the lush jungle plant is unable to communicate in words, the sensitive druid understands its complaint well enough. She sends her own life force out to cocoon and protect the special creeper known as Binding Knotweed, wordlessly reassuring the plant that she will soon return it to the comfort of a tent equipped with enchanted runes of heating. Jefri lays out the two tree trunks that will form the vertical parts of the ladder along the southern street. Several sage elves, bundled up warmly in their furs, place the rungs into position.

Sophie places her hands on the tropical plant, channeling life energy into it to it. Many fresh green tendrils sprout from the vine, writhing, snaking their way over to the partially constructed ladder. One newly sprouted tendril, heads unerringly to each end, of each rung, they wrap around the wooden components, binding them securely together, before finally separating completely from their parent plant. Sophie hurries to make good her promise to return the incredibly useful plant to the warmth of one of the enchanted tents back at the refugee camp.

Jefri tests the newly made ladder by using it to climb a short way up the wall of The Bone Cleaver. He pronounces it to be well made, and strong.
