RP:Let's Join

Summary: Kailani thinks Orion should join the Warrior's Guild and Orion seems to very much agree with this suggestion.

Laurelle's Lake

Orion had made himself a small campfire just near the edge of the water. Grimclaw is happily wandering about the general area chasing bugs and small animals around. At the campfire, Orion rigged himself a wooden spit with a small hog cooking above the fire. Time seems to slow down as Orion pops up from under the lake water. He whips his head backwards to whip the water up and behind him in a perfect arc. The sunlight reflects perfectly against the stream of water. Such drama. Anyways. The bardbarian swims to the shore and walks over to the campfire. No shirt, well groomed beard, and he still has his leather pants on. What a hunk! He pokes at the hog and picks a piece of meat to pop in his mouth, "Mmm. Almost done."

Kailani had not been expecting to return to company, but it was here and at least it was welcomed company. It's probably no shocker that Grimclaw is what Kailani notices first, though in her defense...? Orion is under the water right now. As Kailani makes an approach of the griffon, her eyes are scanning the area in search of his companion. She clearly sees signs that he's around somewhere, like the campfire and the roasting pig. The druid is all smiles as she makes as attempts to draw closer to Grimclaw so that she can greet him with a proper affectionate hello. Right up until someone bursts out of the water, the sounds of splashing pretty quickly diverting Kailani's attention away from Griffon. That smile fades pretty quickly and her face turns about five shades of red, a detail Orion will have no trouble noticing. Her blue hair against her now red skin? Yeah. It's obvious. This blush is born mostly because she's not sure what state of dress Orion is in....until he actually steps out of the lake. Thankfully he is wearing pants. It's still going to take Kailani a moment to lose the heat in her cheeks. "Hi," is what the druid manages to greet Orion with. Alas, it seems she's temporarily forgotten to go say hi to the griffon. Look what you did, Orion.

Grimclaw walks over to Orion and nudges at his shoulder for a bite. The man is forced to take a step to the side, "Oof. Easy, Grim or you get fish for lunch." Kailani's greeting causes a huge toothy smile to form, "Hi Miss Kailani!" Her redness was hard to miss and that made him blush a little as well, "I, um, hope you don't mind..all of this.." Grim makes his way around the fire to nudge at Kailani as well but for some pets. What a flirt. Orion pokes at the hog again and tears off another piece of meat to hold out to Kailani, "Hungry?"

Kailani was just about to start to answer Orion when Grimclaw nudges at her for some pets. His antics bring a smile back to Kailani's lips, she's quick to cave into his demands. Some might think twice about butting their head right up against a griffon's and giving them a good ol fashioned head scratching, not Kailani. "Sounds like it's lunchtime," she remarks to Grim before drawing closer to the campfire. "I am not used to company but...in your case? I don't mind," Kailani admits, "Let's just call it a pleasant surprise." The offered pig is accepted, but that chunk is first offered to Grim. Why? Well Kailani's not quite ready to soil her hands yet, first the druid is going to check if the bardbarian actually listened to her advice. She's first examining the state of the injury he was left with when she last saw him. Only once she's satisfied with that, she'll sit, eat, and converse a bit, "How are you? I met a woman who would really not approve of our choice of lunch for the day." Kailani smirks.

Orion 's injury should just be about healed by now. No more wraps. Just minor scarring. Chick's dig scars, right? Orion follows Kai's lead and sits down with a handful of freshly bbqed pork just after Kai was done giving Grim some lovings. A couple pieces are tossed to Grim. The griffon misses the first but catches the next chunk of flesh perfectly. Grim pecks at the ground to get the missed piece while Orion answers the question, "Oh? That's a shame. She's missing out." He smirks, "I've been well actually. I um..may have relocated my camp.." He side-eyes a makeshift tent towards the farther side of the lake, "If it's an issue, I can go elsewhere. I won't be upset. It's just..Grim loves this area.." He takes another bite of the pork, "So who's the lady you met? Is she a vegetarian?"

How did Kailani feel about this camp relocation? With having to share her favorite space? She's evaluating that right now, while nibbling on shreds of pork. She's silent for a moment, before realizing that maybe the silence is uncomfortable. So she opts to address the point of Rilla first, "No, I don't think she is. She said she would rather eat people over animals, which I found to be slightly strange given that I met her at the home of the Warrior's Guild." Kailani shrugs, having already resolved that she does not know Rilla well enough to judge that comment one way or another. The druid's eyes remained locked on Orion's tent, finally giving him an answer, "I don't mind." This exception is being made for Orion and Grim only, anyone else and she probably would mind...but she'd deal with it by relocating herself. " I would like it in fact. I get to spend more time with Grimclaw that way." Kailani smirks. "It might also be good...because I was thinking that you should join the Warrior's Guild with me."

Grimclaw makes his way to behind Orion where he lays down and places a heavy head on the bardbarian's shoulder. One bite for Grim. One for Orion. Back and forth they go while Ori keeps the conversation going with Kailani, "Oh. Interesting. Is she a cannibal or a vamp? I hope she's just a vamp.." Warrior’s Guild? The sharing between the dynamic duo continues, "Warrior’s Guild? Sounds.." Orion pauses and thinks for a second before feeding the rest of his handful of food to Grimclaw, "Alright. I was going to play all of this cool but, yes, absolutely! The title alone sounds exhilarating!" The man claps his hands together happily, making a mess of the small pieces of leftover pork on his hands. "Oh! This is great! I promise I'll stay to my side of the lake and when do we sign up for this guild? When do we crack some heads open?!" Orion was very excited about all of the things mentioned. Closer neighbor to share his successful hunts with, another person for Grim to become familiar with, and possibly more friends! What a day! Orion springs to his feet to pick at the poor hog some more, "How do we start? Do we sign up? How's this all work, Miss Kailani?"

Kailani is grinning like a fool right now, so much that her cheeks hurt because this is not an expression Miss Serious is used to wearing. Why was she grinning so much? It's a combination of things, like the interaction with Orion and Grim. Some chicks might dig scars, but for Kailani it's these constant observations that this huge bulk of a man is really kind of a big softie, especially with his griffon. How animated he becomes over talk of joining the Warrior's Guild is another reason that Kailani is grinning. She looks to the griffon and asks, "Is he always like this?" Orion will have to interpret from her tone that Kailani is nothing but amused. Her words are directed back to Orion. "I trust you," she says, dismissing any need for him to explain that he'll stay on his side of the lake. "I have not exactly figured out when we sign up. We need to talk to...Lionel or Khitti." There is a firm nod. "I know Khitti, but not Lionel...But maybe we can visit Vigilanti Semper together in a couple of days?" Like Sunday! "And see if we can't meet with one of them?"

Orion returns to his spot just infront of Grim with more pork. Before that, Grim tilts his head at Kailani in response to her question and he playfully bites at the air. Orion carefully reaches to drop a handful into Kailani's hand before resuming the feeding of the big bird-lion creature. "Khitti is in the Guild?! I'm a huge fan, to be honest. This is how I live, camping, hunting, living off the land but I always make it a point to catch a Siren's show in the city when I can." Orion is beaming brightly before his expression falls serious long enough to say, "Please don't let me embarrass myself if we meet her..I don't want to ruin our chance at recruitment." The man laughs before taking another bite, "So exciting.."

Kailani laughs in response to Grim's antics, and as soon as Orion places that piece of pork in her hands, the druid is on her feet to share it with the griffon. "Yeah, that's what I thought," she says to Grim. Khitti had a band? This was one detail about the red-head that Kailani had yet to learn. And Orion was a fan of this band? Maybe one day Kailani could be convinced to hear them. But..! That offer is not extended, it's pretty quickly pushed to the back of her mind. The druid's amusement fades, her expression turns serious as she looks Orion squarely in the eyes. "I don't like many people. So trust me when I saw that you're not an embarrassment." Then again, there are some who might consider Kailani embarrasing, maybe he should not trust the opinion of this rather unconventional woman. "You won't ruin our chances. Besides, I've seen you in fight. It's very impressive. It would be their loss if they don't accept us."

Orion smiles and nods, "It's settled then. I will gladly be your escort when we go meet Khitti. If they don't accept us then I will crush them with this pig carcass." He was only kidding. Sort of. He doesn't comment on her compliment but it is noted and it makes him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He didn't really witness her fighting skills in Xalious but perhaps soon he will bare witness. Orion slaps both knees after finishing up his food then stands, "Well, Miss Kailani, you are welcome to as much food as you want. I'll come back in a little bit to break down the rest." He smiles brightly at the druid, "If you need anything, just yell. I'll be at my tent getting a few things together." He bends down to pat Grim, "Keep Miss Kailani company today, Grim." Orion playfully winks at her then marches off towards his tent.

Kailani smiles, at least right up until the point that Orion declares that he'll be in his tent taking care of a few things. Normally the druid is more than happy to have a conversation end, so that she could return to her peace and quiet. It'll be something for her to stew on while she hangs out with Grimclaw. "Until next time, then," Kailani says as a goodbye. The day is otherwise spent with Grimclaw, feeding him the rest of that pig. Griffon's gotta eat. By the time Orion circles back around to it, the campfire will already be broken down and the mess cleaned up. And the druid? She definitely ran off...somewhere...and did her best to convince the griffon to join her. They'll both be back...at some point!
